Prior to taking the class, I hated literature which is the focus of the course, along with poetry and plays. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He interprets the works into our everyday style of communication so they are easier to understand. I would highly recommend him to everyone!

I had him for Composition I and II as well as both parts of World Liturature. He is a great teacher, but you hear the same stories after a while.

He is super! I took him in a summer class and it was great. He's very laidback, friendly and smart. We actually didn't have much homework. The tests were pretty straightforward. We were able to work on research papers in class at times. He is the best teacher by far!

This guy is the best teacher I ever had. He understood that I couldn't always attend class because of chemo and wished me the best. He's funny and will answer a question as many times as you need him to. His grades are few and far inbetween so that you can learn all you need to before he grades you. I wish there were more teachers like him!

He is awesome! This is my second class with him and he really knows how to peak your curiosity about literature. I would strongly recommend him to everyone, especially those who hate the fact that they have to take a lit class and aren't especially interested in it. I went in hating it but ended loving it and even made an A!

Professor Yarbrough is an amazing man from which I am privileged to learn. His lectures are hysterically funny (think Texan Robin Williams), but he transcends that and uses his gift for touching the heart of humanity. If you follow what he teaches and show some interest you'll get a A but at the same time you can't help not get a A because he teaches so well and keeps your interest. such a wonderful FUN teacher. his class is very very easy due to him making it fun. attend and you will pass. make sure to buy the books. attendance is pretty important. he is the type that if you make an effort and show up to class he'll bump you a grade if you fall on the line. if you don't make the effort you get what you get.

Mr.Yarbrough is the best teacher that I've had at CCCC. He's fun and makes learning the material extremely easy i was on my i phone everyday in class and i still got an A without paying much attetion!

I took his class years ago. He is one of my all time favorite teachers, mainly because of his adorable personality and his outlook on life. He has a special way to connect to his students. I still remember him after all these years.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! I am taking his summer class for 1302 right now and I was tempted to drop it because he was such a great professor, I wanted the full experience in the fall. He relates everything to modern day situations which makes the class so much easier and a lot less difficult to pay attention. If you have the choice, TAKE HIM.

Excellent Professor and an easy A if you attend class daily and listen to his lecture. There is just 1 research paper 2-4 pages long on material covered in class. And the final exam is just a page long interpretation of a poem. He gives daily exams on his lecture from the prior day, just as long as you listen they are real easy. Some light read

1)COME TO CLASS! 2)You will read a story or poem or play in class, and then he asks you questions about it 3)Pay attention to the questions he asks you 4)Take a 5 question quiz that is literally common sense if you pay attention. 5)Read the readings outside of class, and do a paper for your final. You're asking yourself "That's it?" YES! SIGN UP!

OMG where to begin? TAKE THIS PROFESSOR NOW! I have ADHD & he kept me from never getting distracted, i loved going to class everyday because he really knows what he's talking about, and he has the best sense of humor which he ties into his studies, his tests are very very easy we didnt take ANY tests unless he knew each of his students were ready!!

TAKE HIM! The class is so fun and interesting that you won't get bored or be overwhelmed. Workload is very light. Most readings are done in class (most of which he acts out himself)and mini-quizzes which are super easy if you were in class. He has set the bar so high, all my other professors can't even come close. Take EVERYTHING you can with him!

Professor Yarbrough is absolutely an amazing teacher. I just graduated with my second degree and finished my BSN-I credit Professor Yarbrough as being then most influential professor along the way. His work and passion not only keeps students interested but he truly helps students find their way in this world. Highly Recommend!

My goodness, what an amazing professor. I originally took 1301 with another professor and got an F then turned arounded and took both 1301 and 1302 with Yarbrough and got two A's! It's slightly challenging to make 95's and above on his essays but for test, he barely gives any. plus if he does give a test he'll make sure the entire class gets it first. Took him for 1301 1302 and probably world lit :)

There were two tests, a lot of "daily" quizzes at the end of a class period (easy!) and 2 essays (one written in class and one take-home). If you show up, pay attention in class, and study at home - you'll pass. Prof Yarbrough is amazing, and he cares about the learning process not JUST the letter grades. One of my best professors ever! Take him!

Super super super easy class, took him during the summer semester. The class had 2 tests, 1 out of class paper, 1 in class paper, a few handful of simple quizzes. We read nearly everything in class, and anything outta class is a very short read, but only read 2 things out of class. Super hilarious, would take again if I had to.

Extremely sad this is my last semster with him. Had him for 3 semesters for engl 1301 1302 and world lit 1. Amazing professor and so inspirational. Looked forward to every single class. If I could fit him into my schedule I would take his world lit 2 just for fun

He is the best professor you will ever have. I took Engl 1301 & 1302 as well as world lit 2302 with him. He never makes class boring! I learned so much from him and I will continue to recommend everyone to take his classes. His classes fill up super fast so make sure to sign up the day they open!

Super sweet and helpful professor! His lectures are hilarious. He makes old and boring literature really fun and comprehensible! Be prepared for quizzes every class about the previous lecture! Tests and quizzes are fairly easy if you pay attention to the lecture and take notes.

I took a summer course from him a couple ears back and something I said reminded me of him. He is memorable beyond belief. He was so funny and nice and genuine. 2 tests, 1 paper, & daily quizzes-As long as you read and listen in class, they're easy. He doesn't follow the syllabus exactly, and doesn't put the date of your exams. So if you're like me and have to know exactly when everything is due and what you will be reading in class, you may want to take someone else. Overall, good class!

Professor Yarbrough was by far the most aspiring person I have ever listened to. He tells his life stories, which are also his lectures, and turns them into a reflection of the subject at hand. He is insanely funny, sometimes making me L.O.L in class which never happens. But you must show up. Otherwise, I promise that you won't regret taking him.

Best professor I've taken. He doesn't force attendance, it's one of those classes that you will never want to miss! He tells life stories that always relate to what you're learning. It's one of those classes where you just have to be there to know how great it is. He also believes in no hw outside of class & there's one paper due the day of finals.

Yarby is an amazing professor. If you are a person of the arts (theatre, art, writing, music) he is a great to talk to, ask him about FORCES, he'll get your stuff published. Took Yarbrough during Maymester. Best express class ever! Just show up and do your work. Divided into 4- 25% grades (daily, midterm, comprehensive final, and essay). Not a ton of out of class reading. Funny and relates literature to present day. TAKE HIM!!!!

I took him for maymester and it was the easiest class I have taken. He knows literature isnt easy, but he explains everything thoroughly. Uses real life situations to make you understand the concept. I 10/10 reccommend him. He is so funny and super laid back. He a very attentive professor. TAKE HIM!!!!

Professor Yarbrough is the best human being I have ever met. He is extremely understanding of prior class engagements such as family matters and jobs. It would be harder to fail his class than get an A. I left his class with so much more than a grade, but an improved vision of the world and people around me. There is also minimal homework.

Prof Yarbrough was hands down one of the best English professors I've ever had. We had 3 papers due, and the first was in-class. He allows for in-class work and gives ample time to complete the papers. Frequently ends class early! Gives lots of encouragement and ideas, but just generally an awesome and super friendly professor.

Extraordinary professor and great, hilarious person overall! He will not waste your time with nonsense. He will get straight to the point, teach only what you need to know, and will guide you to understanding the material. Not many grades, but there will be a handful of essays to write. Despite this, though, he's very lenient in his grading.

Alright someone needs to give this man an award. How he actually made me WANT to go to an English class was amazing. He has the most genuine soul and cares about his students greatly. I hope he gets recognition from top universities thats how great this man is. 10/10 would recommend to ANYONE taking English courses.

When you take one of his courses, it doesn't really feel like you're in a college class... it feels more like a professional stand-up comedy skit. He is the funniest professor I have taken, and by far the most laid back too. Expect to do a lot of reading, as you will probably read more poetry rather than write papers. Don't hesitate to take him!

I enjoyed every lecture and life story he told. I low key wish I wouldve taken him over the fall because I had enjoyed the class so much.

Took his honors Creative Writing I class. I didnt know that the class was poetry, so I almost dropped the course. Thankfully, Professor Yarbrough convinced me to stay! Now Im considering an MA and an FMA! Seriously, take his class!!

You can never get enough of him. He is such a gem. He wants you to totally understand the content and goes to any extreme to provide the best teaching methods. It is fun to be a part of his class. As far as textbooks are concerned, he wants to make the texts easily accessible rather than assigning a costly book.

I took Professor Yarborough in the summer of 2013 after a year at Texas Tech University. I came to Collin to take a summer class and really dreaded it. Yarborough changed the way I feel about Collin and the way I see English. I got a Bachelor's from Texas Tech and a Master's from Arizona State, but he's by far one of my favorite professors ever.

This is an extremely easy class, and Mr. Yarbrough is one of my favorite professors. Only one essay to write, daily quizzes but they're insanely easy. He's so hilarious I sometimes end up tearing up. Very sweet and understanding and has a quirky personality. He makes literature easy to understand and enjoy, which is hard for some to do.

Basically show up and everything you read in the class is dumb'd down and summed up by him. He is very caring, understanding, and HILARIOUS. I took him for a blow off class and it is an easy A. Just do as he says and you're set.

Doesn't expect a lot from you, and barely makes you read anything. 2 test but they are blow offs, only one essay to write. Daily test but he asks EZ questions like who wrote the book. He's AWESOME, so please take him.

Teaches in an engaging way and has lots of fun with it. almost all reading is done in class and the only quiz you take about the readings is done in the same class period. grading is straight forward and tests are super easy if you hold onto the quizzes.

My fourth back 2 back semester with him. That says enough. I thought creative writing would be more short stories but it's just writing 5 poems. I was a little scared since I don't normally like poems--naturally, I changed my mind. Solid easy class to just relax and discuss poems. Mr. Yarbrough is a 11/10 professor.

Professor Yarborough was very nice and funny, however, I feel like I did not learn much from his class. We mainly read poems aloud in class. If you skip class he will not dock off points but he does have a "daily" quiz (if you pay attention in class and/or take notes it's easy to get a good grade) that counts toward your final grade.

Laid back. Lectures are fun and easy to follow. You can buy any version of the book for cheap. He makes understanding difficult poems easy. Questions on tests are straight from the poems in the book that he will discuss during lecture/reading time in class. I would take him for every class if I could. Great professor!

AWESOME teacher. He gives readings every week but no more than 10 pages which we then discuss in class and have an easy daily quiz. Three exams that were just as easy as the quizzes and a final paper that you choose your own topic for. Super engaging and it's clear he wants you to learn and pass the class.

Take ALL his classes!! This is a professor that is passionate about what he is teaching and passionate about helping his students learn. He gives excellent and attention grabbing lectures and give RELEVENT tests on the material he covers. There are no surprises on what he will test you over. He is hands down the BEST professor that I have ever had.

Probably one of the best teachers/professors I ever had in my life. The dude is super funny and makes lectures extremely fun. He has 2 test but if you listen in class and do the readings, they are easy As. Like some of the questions are, what is the authors name. At the end, you are given a writing final and a final.

The grading is straightforward, with one Grammer exam, Narrative, Written, Final Essays, and Labs all 20%. Although attendance is mandatory, he always lets us leave early.

He's an amazing professor, especially when it comes to actually learning the material. While attendance is required, from that hour you learn a lot, but don't do any work for it.
