Very good teacher! Very funny and not difficult at all. It's a Gordon Rule course though so there is a lot of papers to write. He gives you the essay for the test before the test so you can think on it. Would definitely recommend taking him!!

Continuous loop of stories, questionable political views, and an obvious womenizer. Although you will learn alot. If you had problems in Comp. 1, I recommend looking elsewhere, but he does make everyone a better writer, but your G.P.A. may suffer.

Tough on grammer, ASK FOR HELP, he really likes to help. Not a bad guy, we could all use a little fine-tuning as far as our grammer goes. Actually a very nice guy.

MY FAVORITE PROF! He is very cut and dry. He tells you the way he wants things done, and that is it. He is very helpful if you are willing to ask for it. I would def. recommend him to anyone!

I took this class in 5 weeks over the summer. He is a great prof. He grades hard, but how else will you learn? He also gives you your final questions and answers.

He is a great teacher and easy to get along with. Doesn't pick on students much and grades fair enough. Late work IS NEVER ACCEPTED, I didn't like that but it is still a fair policy.

If you don't mind getting made fun of, then take this class. He explains things very well, but often trails off and repeats the same stories of his life. Good teacher though. EXTREMELY HARD ON GRADING. Late work is never allowed.

Once I understood his personality, the class was great. Always welcomes questions and VERY helpful w/ papers. All you have to do is ask. Word of advice: don't fall asleep in class!

I no longer go to VCC, I am now at UCF. Dr. B. is the best professor I ever had. He comes off tough in the beginning but is an amazing professor. I have recommended Dr. B to many friends. If you have the opportunity, take his class, definately do so. He will prepare you for future classes & papers.

Dr.B is one of the most funniest teachers I've ever had. He knows his stuff and is very clear in his lectures. He lets us out 30mins. early. If ya know your grammer rules then this class should be an easy A.

Great professor but strict on grading. A's are impossible. Half the class dropped out by withdrawal deadline, but he's very funny and lets class out 1/2 to an hour early. Just do work and pay attention and there's no reason you can't get a B.

It is impossible to get A's in his class???? All of my papers were A's except for one that was a B. If you try your hardest and follow his guidelines you will have no problem. There are 10 essays including the final and that is it.

I love Dr.B! He is the best professor at VCC. It is pretty hard to achieve an A in his class, but if you try just a little bit you will do fine. He is funny and a down to earth guy. I truly am going to miss going to his class. take him. he makes jokes and is not strict on tardies or absences

Dr. B is a tough cookie. He wants every little detail to be correct. Take his course if you like writing and turning in your work. Its a tough course but as long as you turn in all your papers and get good grades you should be fine.

Wow, people are giving him 5's for easiness. He's not easy, but you’ll learn how to write. I took him back in 99’ and I’ve benefited so much from what I’ve learned in class. He’s very dedicated to his students. Don’t take him if you want an easy A, but take him if you want to learn.

Blankenship is one funny teacher who cares about the students. I was lucky to have him for English 2 and Freshman Composition.

I dont know why people he is a "bad teacher" or talks about his "pathetic life". LIES. He makes class fun, jokes around alot, and has a good time. But when its time for business, he means it. Dont expect a fly by class. You have deadlines that must be met, plane and simple. He makes school enjoyable

Blankenship, no front, its not an easy class, but if you got at least a "b" in ENC 1101 then go ahead, essays are extremely based on your grades and that's all you do in class. Going is pointless but read your stories and hand everything in ON TIME!!!!!!

If your looking to get an "A" in english don't take his class, because he is a very hard grader, and is the type of proffesor who looks for mistakes on your paper. I took his class last semester and passed with a "C", and I've never gotten below a "B" in English. He's really nice though, but if I had known in advance I would have never taken him.

Nice teacher, makes the class very interesting, talks a lot about the blues. Even though this is an English class you learn a lot about music. He talks about his life but has a fun way of teaching. The papers are the biggest part of your grade, they are easy though, just follow instructions. Funny guy, worth taking

This is my favorite teacher. All you do is go to class and listen to him read. There's four essays to turn in but he goes in dept about everything. He's also mad funny. TAKE HIM!!!

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. The class is very enjoyable, poems, short stories, dramas, are all very intersting to discuss and very simply explained. Great personality, and fair grading with moderate to few assignments of homework. Research paper is also very modest in expectations. DEFINATELY RECOMENDED professor.

Love this guy! Really connects to his students, and has fun with them. He grades pretty tough on the papers, but there's only like 3 in all.. which made me happy, since this was a comp. class. Quizzes and tests are generally easy if you read the stories. No homework and not VERY strict on attendance.. yay :)

He is an excellent teacher and he does not let you out 30 minutes early. He will explain and answer any questions you have. If you read the stories and complete your assignments, you will be fine. The tests and assignments are reasonable.

took for freshman comp I and II. loved his class! he always jokes around with his students and makes class fun. anyone who says he doesnt work is lying!! he only lets people out early if hes gotten through what he needed to teach faster than expected. stop complaining! if people say he didnt help them it was because they didnt ask!! def recomend!

One of the funniest teachers ever, he blends with all his students while demonstrating class work, very helpfull and understanding, and of course doesnt stop warning the class about his skills he obtained while working undercover in foreign countries..LoL, if you are looking for both an easy amd fun class, search no more.

He's a good teacher. TOugh grader, but as long as you pay attention in class you should be fine. The notes are sufficient enough to write your eesays so take them. He ONLY lets us out of class early if we have gotten through the material. I'm taking him for summer A and so far it is ok, i'll update at the end of the semester. :-)

I took Dr.B for ENC1101 and he ruled, so I made sure I took him again for ENC 1102. He is a stickler when it comes to grammar, but he's an english teacher so WATCH OUT! I got B's because I didn't really try, but if you do your work it's pretty easy to get an A. He's passionate about teaching ...best choice for ENC 1101/1102!

"Dr. B" (as he likes to be called) is a cool guy, he will sure make you laugh & appears to be very down to Earth. However, he takes way too long to get the class started (he'll spend 40 minutes asking what the class' plans are for the weekend - Which sounds great, but when you need to be learning stuff for the tests... Not so great) A tough grader!

He is an awesome teacher! For comp. 1 it is however a challenge. Grammar sucks and he is hard on it but if you talk to him, he doesn't have a problem helping and my F went right up to a 79! I'm in comp.2 with hime now and he's even better-no reading in between the lines, he does all that for you! Helarious and caring-Dr. B is the best professor!

Great Professor! He is funny, and likes to ask his students what they did over the weekend...Easy essays, easy quizzes, and lets us out EARLY!! Just a word of advice, do not get on his bad side, he will ridicule students that do! It is funny to see that though! Definitely recommend Blankenship!

Pretty easy teacher. He explains the stories and poems and you have quizzes on them two weeks later. You will write two essays but he is a stickler for grammar with his "magic pen." Class is fun but he is pretty offensive. I think he managed to offend the majority of our class within the first ten minutes of the first day.

I took him for comp 1 and 2, he is awesome!! as long as you like a comedian for a professor!! If you know anything about english lit. this is an easy and fun A. when I took him, he even went out of his way to make a Music Comp 2 class for student that just did not understand formal literature, but did better with songs. very caring! Genius!

Dr. B is a great professor! Everyone is complaining about clarity, but he definitely states in the syllabus how to format your paper, etc. He also tells us what our papers should be written on, and most of the time it is THEME! I would def. take him again and recommend him to others.. BTW his research paper is only 5 pages where others are about 9.

This professor will drive you insane with his pickiness. He basically grades an essay based on grammar. If you cant master this, dont expect an A in his class. BUT hes funny at first he is a bit too much to handle, but you get used to it. Overall, hes alright, if you get some really good help from the Writing Center. 8 essays, 1 research paper.

Funny teacher, I loved the class and it was easily the most fun I had in a class. But expect to work for every point you get.

I took him for comp 1 and enjoyed his class. There weren't any tests but a lot of essays which he grades harshly. He cares about grammar and mechanics so visit the writing lab if you're not the best at that. He picks on everyone and is inappropriate- kind of like a walking South Park episode but makes class feel relaxed and fun.

There's only one way to describe this class...As an hour long awkward moment two times a week for three months,but it was a fairly easy class.
