Fun but hard! And a real honey!
Doesn't like immature students. Best teacher at Longview.
Very good teacher. Hard but can gain useful knowledge from his class lectures.
Knows his subject well and speaks clearly. The study guides help. Has an engaging personality.
Teacher is not clear at all and grades your essay test section as though you are in English. This is an intro school people! He has a doctrate and thinks he can treat you like you do not matter. He acts as though every student is a history major... BAD!!
Gives helpful study guides. He is a real college teacher , but most of his students are not really college students.
My favourite teacher. He is tough, but brilliant. He is really passionate about his subject, and he expects you to work hard. Don't mess around in his class, or you will have a tough time. Do your study guides and all reading. You will learn a lot.
Dr. Moore is great. His class is pretty tough, but in my opinion he is pretty funny. I always looked forward to going to class. Use the study guides they're great help.
Brilliant lectures. Clear, concise. Dry, sarcastic humor that can be brutal if you're the target. Pay CLOSE attention, ask ANALYSIS questions: he'll like you. Tests: Answer Who, What, When, Where and Historical Significance in essays. Favorite prof but you must work. Essay questions in advance!
If you want a good history teacher, Dr. Moore is the one I would recommend. All you have to do is go to class, pay attention and whatever you do, do not act like you are falling asleep. His Study Guides are pretty much what you need to study but he teaches so well that you remember a lot of the stuf
Excellent teacher! He helped me remember how much I loved history. Awnser the 5 w's on the test and you will do wonderfully! He is very funny but don't let yourself be the butt of his jokes! Be on the ball and he will appreciate you! Don't fall asleep, skip or leave the class!
Good teacher. Tests are hard. You can't be a moron and take his class.
Terrible. Tries to act as if his Doctorate degree matters to anyone. Acts stuck up and looks down upon students. Tries to make you feel dumb.
Excellent teacher. He really sticks it to the slackers and airheads, and there are plenty of them. If he deprived them of his study guides, they would sink like rocks even faster. Good job, Dr. Moore!
He is soo hot!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Moore is a very bitter little man. He thinks he's an extremely regarded individual, and thinks NOTHING of his students. He tries in every way possible to make the students feel like idiots by using insults and belittling statements. His tests are insanely difficult and do not follow his lectures. Avoid this man at all costs.
Many of his students ARE idiots, you idiot. Take his class and you will no longer be an idiot!
I am very grateful to Dr. Moore for helping me win a scholarship to a four year college. I was a serious student who enjoyed his classes because they were challenging and interesting. He is very supportive of the better students, but he does not suffer fools.
I loved this class. His notes were very intense, but he gave you all the information for the tests. Great teacher!
Moore one of the best teachers at Longview. Everything he lectures on is important and necessary to know. He tells you exactly what he wants you to know for his tests. They aren't hard if you do the study guides. He encourages intelligent questions, but don't just make random comments, he will hate you.Go to class on time and don't leave early.
He knows his stuff and he teaches it very well; however, he can be a real **** a lot of times, and he can make you feel really bad about yourself if you say the wrong thing in class. I was quiet the whole time in his classroom because I didn't want to be embarressed. The class isn't as enjoyable when youre too afriad to ask any questions.
I used to think history was boring. Now I'm SURE of it, thanks to this self-absorbed, callous excuse for a human being. In order to elevate yourself, you don't have to run down someone else. It you take his class, stand up for your views and challenge him when you can. He hates that.
He always begins and finishes class on time, and is VERY well organized (rare at LV). Tests returned quickly. He is considerate of the serious students, which I appreciated. He knew my name early, some of my professors never learned it.
I received an A in this class, but did not enjoy this teacher. He was self absorbed and arrogant. He finds joy in making students feel dumb,in order to feed his ego. I had him 8 years ago and I am now an assistant professor at an area 4 year college. His example of a professor I have yet to see in any of my colleagues or under grad/grad professors.
Picture Dr. Cox from the TV show scrubs teaching you history. He is very interesting, clever, and very funny. He is the best professor I've ever had, and i've been to a university and Community College.
He's great! He expects respect and in turn is respectful. I have had him twice, and even though I didn't get an A, it's worth it due to how much I learn form him! Also very interesting man.

This dude is a pain. He expects EVERYONE to be a history major. He has his masters and lets you know it. He writes all over your essays as though he's a English teacher. I ACED all my English classes. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
He has very different moods from day to day. You never know what he is gonna be like. Also, he has a very dry sense of humor. All in all, he's hateful.
He is a real jerk. He picks on people for his own gain! He's got some serious issues!!!
Don't like him, midterm is extremely hard (afraid of final!), he gets pissed easily and will walk out on the class.

Dr. Moore is the most professional instructor at Longview Community College. He is helpful, clear, and fair. He expects students to put forth effort and respect themeslves and their education. He is funny, and has a low tollerance level for idiots. At my current university, his professionalism is still unmet by anyone there. Dr. Moore is great.
Mr. Moore is a challenging teacher, but you will definitely learn a lot. He is extremely clear, and makes history come alive like you'll never see it in the textbooks. I definitely enjoyed his class! Take from him if you get the chance.
I thought he was a bad teacher. We had some assignments out of 10 points. I write really well and even then I never got 10 points on one of my assignments. Also, I lost points on the tests because on the essay portions i didn't write it in paragraphs...at least i answered all i could though. He was funny at times but sometimes he was also weird
Best lecture teacher I've had. He's concise, interesting (even has good jokes worked into the lecture at relevant points), and is straitforward. If you pay attention and read the book, it's difficult to not pass...just don't slack off.
His class is hard but he is helpful. He seems a bit tense at times but there is a lot of immature people in my class.
Very clear and concise teacher. You will always know what's on the test and when. Great lecturer, but watch out if you have to go to the bathroom or sharpen your pencil in the middle of his lecture. He has a COW!!!
I had absolutely no interest in this subject before class started. Now I think history is rather interesting. Moore takes history from being boring and makes it fun to learn about. He'll tell you he knows he's not teaching a popular subject, but he does what he can to make it fun. If you have the chance take the class with Moore.
Excellent instructor. He has his PhD, and requires his students to call him Dr. Read a little ahead of what he assigns if you want an A. Make use of his study guides. He's an easy A. He does not like immaturity. Do not leave his class early w/o letting him know. Turn off your cell phone. Make it to class.
run away...FAST
He is ok at times but he doesn't teach very well and he reminds us all the time that we are in college like we don't realize that.
he is a jerk and a bad teacher. grades your PAPER LIKE YOUR IN ENGLISH. NOT HELPFUL and is good at put downs. this class must be alot like what hell is.
Mr Moore is great he teaches with enthusiasim unlike many history teachers he got me into it and I will remember things from his class beacuse he made it interesting for us I recommend taking his class if you can
Insane tests. many writing assignments, but graded strictly. VERY HARD.
This my favorite teacher at Longview. He gives wonderful lectures and demands your attention during the entire period. If you do the work/reading and show him the respect he deserves, you will get along famously. If, however, you are seeking an easy "A" and don't care to work hard... do the rest of us a favor and don't waste his or our time.
Doctor Moore was an outstanding professor. His class formate was just four exams and about five in class quizes. I earned an A. My only complaint was that he was very hard to talk to. Also, he will not help you on his study guides so make sure you have some kind of connection if you struggle with history.
I cant stand "Dr." Moore... hes absolutely the worst teacher ive ever had! dont take his class if you want to fail! and if you do decide to take it, dont waste time taking notes... its useless information for the tests! stick to the study guides. You wont go a day without being reminded "your in college now folks, your gonna have to read the book!"
Moore is a great teacher! He knows his stuff and clearly writes key terms on the board. His strict nature is a result of fresh hs grads. Be respectful - yes, call him Dr! And really, assume that ALL prof are Dr unless they correct you! Don't take offence if he laughs at something you say - he is laughing cause its wrong and someone taught you that!
Dr. Moore is very very knowledgeable about history. I loved the class and I don't really like history. He is jaded, and sometimes annoying and a bit crazy, but he makes it interesting.
Makes history fun. Keep up or you will fail. Gives out very helpful study guides for the test (actually, I don't think he does this any more). Keep your phone off, show up, and you will be on his good side. Willing to talk about grades but don't expect him to pass you just because you need the class. Very respectful if you respect him.
Moore is very good at teaching ,but does not prepare you enough for the tests. They are incredibly hard and he is very strict on grading. The class is a HISTORY class not a ENGLISH class. Take this class if you want to barely pass but overall i guess you could say you recieve your moneys worth.
Dr.Moore is a good teacher. As long as you keep up with the book and know definitions to some of the words he brings up in class, you can pass the class. He even gives you study guides to help you.
Dr. Moore was a good teacher. He's very passionate about his subject & tries to make it fun, which sometimes he did. He's really nice, but be careful, he has his cranky days & can be very brutal. His lessons were easy to follow, but I just couldnt read the book. Tests were by the book, STUDY &Papers were fairly easy if you follow directions.
I learned so much from this class... All the answers for tests especially essay questions come straight out of his mouth. He makes jokes which lightens the mood of the class and I found him and his quirks very entertaining. Take his class you will learn so much!
Here's the deal with Moore. Go to class, take notes, do the study guide,(answer those in para-graphical form) and you'll do fine. He has high standards and doesn't suffer laziness. Being a female re-entry student I really enjoyed his class. He never made me feel stupid or like I didn't belong there. I recommend him to other students.
There is something genuinely wrong with this man. He is prone to child-like outburts without notice, and has actually stormed out of class. He even frequently yells at the disabled student in class for not taking notes "properly." This man is truly a nutcase. Avoid at all costs.
He is a good teacher, but not for a junior college. Very tough, often brings students down. Very moody, and can snap w/o warning. (like a kid clicking his pen will set him off) Read Read Read! Take very precise notes and write well on essays. He is very tough on grading! I wouldn't recommend him, at all.
I really like and appreciate Mr. Moore. He is a great teacher with a sense of humour. Some students do not like him but the only reason you should not like him is when you fall asleep, talk loudly during lecture, and are 20 minutes late. If you listen and respect him you should really enjoy his class!!
I love History, but Moore makes it impossible. Makes it obvious he doesn't like his job and complains about it every class! Very negative approach. I read each assignment at least six to seven times before taking a test and STILL didn't pass. The multiple choice questions are very hard to remember the answers for. Avoid at all costs!
You will learn something from his class. Whether or not you will pass it is a different matter. He grades very strictly. He constantly complains about his job and reminds the class almost every day that we are not "in high school anymore". He is very moody and I don't think he should be a professor. He is knowledgable but I wouldn't reccomend him.
after taking his class i felt like i was in the English class not in the History class. His grading is really tough and TEST are really hard he make you write so much on the test. If you taking history to just pass i recommend do not ever ever ever ever take this professor.
Do not take this professor.... more then half of the class droped out after the first two weeks then few more after the 1st test. He's really tough grader dont even give you any break on greading and he will keep reminding you English lesson how to write in the test. Lots of writting in the test and he will take lots of poins of in the writting par
Dr. Moore is not an easy teacher and he doesn't tolerate slackers...he makes that very clear. He is no nonsense but sometimes gets off topic but always refocuses the class. I love the topic and I came out of his class with more knowledge on the subject. If you're looking for an easy grade don't take his class.
Moore was very entertaining for me. He is a very strict professor. I advise that you should only take him if u enjoy reading history. Because reading the chapters and paying attention in class is the only way to pass. Also being polite and not sleeping or talkin in class will make him like you more. But it was funny watchin him yell at others.
Dr. Moore doesn't not like slackers and people who don't take his class serious. He is a hard teacher, you take a lot of notes. He is a huge English freak when grading test (which they are hard). I do not recommend taking him.
he is a really good teacher if you show up and pay attention. he really knows his stuff and try his best to help you understand. he has a very dry sense of humor but still very funny guy. ive taken him for hist 121 and wester civ. and he has yet to disappoint with his knowledge and efort to teach
The most amazing professor ever!
Dr. Moore is a great teacher. Whatever negative comments you read are only from the Kids who come straight from high school who go to College not even expecting to take notes or take class seriously. Great teacher for those who take school seriously.
when I took his class, he just stormed out of the class because some student something that he didn't approve of... I had to go to his office right after cause he was using my book in the class.. But, he was an alright teacher
Dr. Moore is very nice. He doesn't like slackers or sleepers. His tests are mostly essays and the reading and lectures are a Must! He has dry sense of Humor. If you are willing to be at every class and to do the Reading DO NOT take him
I thought History from this time period was really interesting. But no matter how hard I studied I still received a F. He doesnt give assignments, just tests. So if your not the best writer or test taker forget this class. He is nice and good at explaining things but when you ask him a question he doesn't know how to awnser it.
This class was very interesting but after I received my first test back I was very dissapointed. I got an F and haven't my whole college career. His grading is very harsh and expects perfect writing and details. He did not explain this in class and you wil have to find out on your own. I enjoyed his teaching but not his grading.
Dr. Moore is very clear and systematic in his lectures. However, his way of grading is poor and irrational. He gives the criteria that he bases his grading. Yet, he can give you an entirely different grade regardless of how you actually did based on the criteria. Unpredictable and moody.
I wish I would of known about this site BEFORE I took the class! Moore walks freq..does he not realize some of us are there to pass and have paid money to do so. I have never failed a class in my life.I ended up dropping this class because no matter what I did I was not going to pass. I read, completed study guides, went to class, took notes
You have to work hard to succeed. Always read the chapter, and the study guides help a lot. He is pretty moody. He yelled at a kid for stretching once, saying it was disrespectful. He likes to remind everyone that they're in college, not high school constantly. He makes a lot of dry jokes. He takes forever to get the point sometimes.
Very knowledgable and keeps things interesting. He definitely doesn't take any crap from immature students!
Horrible teacher! Teaches like he should be teaching a grad sschool class! Always read the book and do the chapter questions or you will bomb the tests. His lectors are boring and confusing! Doesn't care if you fail or drop cuz he "get's paid whether there are 5 in the class or 25"
Dr. Moore is a good teacher. He loves his subject and it shows in how he teaches. He really wants the students to "get it". He puts a lot of thought into his lessons and makes them really interesting. His one fault is that he's kind of down on himself. I don't know why becuase he's a good teacher.
WORST TEACHER EVER! One day before class I got a call and was told that my Grandmother passed away. Upset I thought I should let Dr. Moore know that I would be missing a few classes because of travel and exct.. He tells me "You going home is not going to change the fact she is dead" I don't think that was called for at all! RUDE person. I dropped!
Always enjoyed history, but this man sucked the joy right out of you. Never in my life met a teacher like him. Does not like to be challenged or shown that he does not know his stuff. Once I asked him a question, he started yelling and stormed out of the class. DON'T TAKE HIM AS YOU TEACHER!
Dr. Moore is a great teacher. If you are immature then his class is not for you. He does not tolerate any non sense from students but is very passionate about what he is teaching. He has great study guides, read the book, follow notes and write complete sentences and you will do fine.
Recommend this class to anyone! He definitely knows his subject and makes it his goal to present it as easy as possible, not wasting time on irrelevant information that won't be on the test. Don't have to participate in class if you don't want to, and he'll answer any question, about history or just college in general! Good man, good professor!
Definitely one of the best history teachers at Longview, his classes will help prepare you as to what to expect in a real university setting. Humor is dry, but it helps with the dry subject. Apply yourself to doing studying and you'll enjoy his class and pass easily. Slackers need not apply, or people who want an easy A.
STRICT GRADER.. you better be an English major to take his class because the short answer part of his tests are worth alot of points! GOOD PART IS NO HOMEWORK except for studying before the tests
I lost my A+ because of this teacher. I worked really hard for his tests too and never managed to pass one, which is weird because althrough elementary, middle, highschool I always had A's in history. He's very strict and makes rude comments to students. He yells at students for asking simple questions. I would highly recommend not taking him.
I attended KU and Mr. Moore is what professors there are like.He expects mature, respectful students who take their education seriously. If you study and take detailed notes you can get an A.His long answer and essay questions demand that you have a comprehensive understanding of the material. He is what higher education is all about. High caliber!
Serious educator. Seriously passionate about history. Seriously expects you to give total attention in class and to show respect to your classmates (don't come in late, don't use your phone). Expects good writing skills on exams. Heavy percentage of grading is on essay quality AND quantity.
This is what a college professor is supposed to be. I have learned more from him than any other teacher at Longview and i don't even really enjoy history. You actually have to work for an A, imagine that! haha
Yes, this professor can be quite difficult if you struggle with History. However, if you want a college education and you are thinking about moving on to a 4-year, you should consider taking him. He is very intelligent. His test are MC and essay. READ THE BOOK!!! I hate history, but loved both his 121 and 120 class.
If you're at college to LEARN, Dr. Moore is the real deal. His classes can be tough, especially if you're not into history, but the lectures are very interesting and you will learn a lot. For students who want a very organized, no-fluff course. Slackers, please don't waste his time.
Dr. Moore is extremely interesting but at the same time, just as hard. I've always enjoyed history, but when it came to this class, no matter how hard I studied, there were things on his tests that I still haven't heard, or read about, even after reading over everything for the section. If you like a challenge... hes right for you. Never come late!
This professor is extremely hard. His lectures are boring and will not help you on the tests AT ALL. You usually will have 100 pages to read for the tests and even if you read it all twice you will fail. He will admit it is his "job" to get people to fail and thin out the college. Do not take this class unless you want to pass with a D-
This is an AMAZING professor. It's all about perspective. Look past his self-deprecating comments (downing himself) & don't think of his brash attitude as rude - Instead see his passion for history. He gives great lectures & will stay after to discuss or answer questions. Be detailed & you will pass the essay style tests. Take good notes!
Kind an awkward professor but he is nice and means well. Tests are hard but he replaces lowest test score with one of your higher scores. He also offers extra credit. Lectures are boring but overall not a bad professor at all
Nice guy but very hard class. All he does is lecture and then gives a test over god knows what. He is also kind of a jerk and will not go out of his way to help you outside of class. Do not take this guy.
His tests are pretty hard, and it's hard to stay awake in his lectures. If you don't agree with him he's kind of rude. If you need extra help he will talk to you like you're stupid, so don't bother. I would not take him again
Very very rude and arrogant. Do not take his class.
If you hate lectures do yourself a favor and do not take his class. All he does is give lectures. He does offer extra credit, but not very much. And the focus questions he gives you, even he admits is not enough to give you an A on the exams. It's enough to get you a C at best. so if you want to avoid hard classes. I recommend not taking Moore's.
Dr Moore is a great teacher!! I really enjoyed his class and he really does everything he can to help and really wants everyone to pass. He makes class really interesting.. I would definitely take his class again
