The class is a boring class but however having a fun teacher makes it a little better. The class deals with learning about microsoft office. I am not a computer person. He was very helpful. On the midterm for his class I recieved a 102/100 because he told the class exactly what we needed to know.

Usually I hate 8AM classes, But this class is so worth it. Rockefeller is honestly the best teacher I have ever had. Class was so chill and such a breeze. The work is so easy and you actually earn the grade. He is such an easy person to get along with. You really have to TRY to fail. This class is worth it. I promise you.

Prof. Rock is great, he made going to class fun. He's knowledgable in his field and the class is not difficult. As long as you do your work and complete the assignments you will not have any problems getting an A.

The most laid back professor ever! He explains everything clearly and is more than willing to help on everything! Just attend class, do great on the final project, and everything else and it's an easy A! :)

Teaches for 5 mins then makes you can leave. Just do all the online work and the final project and you get an A. He gives you 100 on all the online work, the online quizzes are easy to google, he only cares about the final project. He is laid back and easy. Everyone needs CGS-1000 in HCC so take him.

Great class! Mr. Rockefeller is very helpful and relates the tech concepts to our daily lives. He lectures for the first 20 minutes, then allows us to work on the Microsoft Office labs or final project during class, with his assistance. My only advice, show up and take notes!

This man had great patience. He's always on his feet helping everyone and never complains. I'm not very good with computerstechnology and he was so extremely helpful. After his (short) lectures, you have the option to stay and work on your modules or leave. There is a powerpoint presentation at the end of the semester, but he's not a tough grader.

Took his follow-up course, CGS-1555, Intro. to Internet. The class was very easy, 14 the coursework compared to CGS-1000. Assignments are very basic, simply write a few paragraphs explaining the topic of the week, mid terms and final, very easy, he provides a study guide and thoroughly reviews, website project, very easy. Highly recommend!

Easy class, great guy. Only took the basic computer class that is required, and because it's required so therefore many people are not typically interested, he didn't lecture long at all. Allowed us to use Google search and our books for quizzes. *Won't do the same for actual coding type classes. Would definitely recommend.

He's probably the best CGS teacher at HCC, he gives you the work on SIMNET which is expensive af, he gives you help and rounds up your grade on projects from a 70% to a 100%. you need attendance to pass but he doesn't care if you leave just if you get your work done before the due date.

Compared to other CGS teachers at this school this one is the best, he uses an expensive service called simnet which cost $125 and it consist of microsoft office. he rounds your grade if you get a 70 to an 100 and he doesnt care if you miss class just make sure you finnish your work on time.

Fairly easy course, great instructor though, provides friendly feedback, very patient, very organized, and even helps w/ non-related tech questions. Uses SimNet though, but all hcc brandon instructors use Simnet, rounds labs (lessons and projects) from 80% and above, to 100%. I highly recommend! Thanks Prof. Rock!

Just finishing up the network security course, great class, learned a lot, all content was online, I even found a free pdf of the textbook online; overall great instructor and fairly easy course, highly recommend!

HE'S GREAT! Attendance not mandatory, but he will help you with the labs, which I needed.

For an upper-level intro class, he has made the course easy to understand! Although lectures are short, he is always around to help in class, in his office, or by email if you aren't sure on what the content is about. Fun assignments and content overall, would definitely take again!

I'm taking the summer online version of the network security course. Although the course is very accelerated (6 weeks instead of 16 weeks), Professor Rockefeller has been available anytime; he even called me to check on my progress and ask if I needed any help w/ APA. The course is demanding, but he helps motivate you. So far well-earned "A".

Hes a great teacher. All of the work is on canvas and simnet, so going into class isn't necessary since he doesn't take attendance, but every week he sends out emails encouraging us to come in. He cares about his students and it shows. Hes helpful when you need it and really nice. The assignments are not too hard and they go by quick.

I was a little nervous to do an online course as I am usually a watch and learn type of learner. This class was really great and I learned a lot. Prof Rock is awesome. Just follow the assignments' directions (as expected on the job, etc.) and an easy "A". They are only "1 -Page" APA style papers summarizing or expanding specific topics learned throughout the week; yes 1 freaking page! Perhaps, a bit too much for some...

Took CGS1000, easy A. He uses SimNet for labs, plus provides up to 10% optional extra credit. No papers, no printed assignments, only short lectures and Office 2016 related labs all in SimNet; plus he allows 3 attempts for all assignments and everything is openbook!

Just finished the Intro to Network Security course, well worth it! He provides great feedback, answers emails quickly (seemed like within seconds!), the assignments were fairly simple, overall, great experience. Luckily, the book store guy was right, he is a great professor!

Best teacher he really wants to see you pass and he's so funny. If you don't get an A it's your fault he will help you with anything. He really wants to see you succeed.

Show up to class, do the online quizzes & simnet hw (which usually takes 1.5 - 2 hrs/wk) & you'll easily pass. Realistic deadlines, & is extremely helpful if you don't know anything. Responds fast to emails. Exams are online and can take at home. Online txtbook included w required simnet bundle purchase. Very nice guy. Attndce taken once per week.

Professor Rockefeller's class was an easy A. Having him at 8 in the morning was a drag, however not ever showing up only dropped me about 2 points. It's the basic Microsoft usage so if you are familiar this class will be a breeze. If not, the text book will explain step by step on how to do things. It'll also give all the answers to every quiz!

He was honest/straight forward but encouraging at the same time. Responded to email quickly.

The class is one of the easiest classes I have taken before. Simple common sense and the ability to use a computer is all that is needed. The online class is self paced ( you can finish the entire course in one night if desired). He is very strict on deadlines and accepts nothing afterwards, very upfront about this topic. Responds to email quickly.

Just finished the intro to networking course. Luckily he uses the network + certification material, textbook and labs. I plan to take the certification this month. Overall, fairly easy A. I loved the labs, feel I really learned a lot. He's also very quick w/ emails and offers extra credit opportunities.

He uses TestOut, which is great! Allowed me to prepare and pass the Security + certification.

Rock is a great guy. He's a vet. But most of the students in class don't care at all. myself, and about 5 others will be the only ones who pass this class. Which is sad because he will literally walk you through assignments.

Best professor at HCC! This was my last semester. I had prof. Rock for a few computer science courses over the years. Overall he was was by far my favorite, especially for breaking down the tech skills into easier to understand terms. He's funny and easy to talk to. He even wrote me a scholarship recommendation letter. Thanks Prof. Rock!

Just took and passed the Sec + Cert. Exam! And, used my free CompTIA voucher, from Prof. Rock. He uses everything from TestOut. Basically, you complete the lessons and quizzes (which are all open-book) on your own, with every few week deadlines. He made the exams nearly identical to the certification, which helped tremendously.

Beware attendance quizzes! Other than that, EVERY assignment (including both midterm and final exam) are accessible from the very beginning so there is no reason to fail the class. Also, use quizlet for the module quizzes.

Amazing teacher, very understanding and there for help when needed. I have other friends that had different teachers for CGS1000 and I can tell you this guy it the way to go. As soon as you are there for the attendance you are allowed to leave as long as you have your work done which is availavle from home. Pretty east and chill class.

Professor Rock was great. The class was very laid back. Its a tech class, so our quizzes were open book. He was very helpful when called upon. He made it impossible not to pass. Theres quite a bit of content, but you work at your own pace. Complete all the assignments and you should be fine.

I tooked his class back in fall 15 and it was my first school year. He was really nice that class work was pretty nice the assignments were easy just because everything was on the computer such as the assignments are more watch, try, and do it. you have to do some exams which everything consists in Microsoft but if you need help he will help!!!

A tough course but at least I was never lost as to what to do and what my grade was throughout the semester. I wish my other instructors this semester provided clear direction, timely feedback and were as organized as professor Rockefeller.

Easy A!! It's mainly Microsoft Office 2016. All assignments are open book, with 3 attempts for every assignment and he only uses your highest attempt. He's quick to help, if you even need any help.

He wont sugarcoat if you're failing; he's very direct, motivating, yes, but will tell you that it's a college course. He doesn't accept late assignments, but does provide extra credit. I withdrew because of my poor planning, but I see why people like professor Rockafeller's classes. He is very nice and helpful with the assignments.

He teaches toward passing the certification. In my case, Security +. I'm glad I took his class as I plan to take the certification next month. He uses TestOut which is basically certification preparation software. Overall, great experience, I plan to take his other networking courses this Fall.

To get your grade you do the lessons which are step by steps to help Then there is independent project which is just what you learned and its applied If you have any questions he is helpful it was so easy that I didn't need any help done in 2 weeks.

Just do the work on simnet and you're guaranteed an A. Very helpful when you attend class and ask questions. Quizzes, midterm, and final, you can use google. Other than that, the simnet lessons can be time-consuming. Do work outside of class!

Great teacher that is really helpful when in class. Bunch of extra credit and he even does one with you. All work accessible from home. I took it during the summer semester so attendance was required.

Mr Rockefeller is a real nice guy. This course was extremely difficult for me, because the text book author wrote about 70% of that book with filler material. It was a struggle not to fall asleep while reading the book, because the author takes for ever to get to that tid-bit of information you need to know. However; Rockefeller did a good job!

Very easy class although it can get dull over time due to how the class is structured which has nothing to do with Prof Rockefeller. That's just how CGS-1000 is. Other than that, shop up and complete your weekly modules and you'll pass. Also, you get to leave whenever you want as you work at your own pace as long as you keep an eye on the deadlines

Professor Rock is the best. All the chapter quizzes are on quizlet and he doesn't care how you get the answers. Always be on time for class! He has random verification attendance quizzes and if you don't do them your grade will drop drastically. Do the independent projects or you won't pass. Easiest A.

Professor Rockefeller is the best! I've taken several online classes at HCC, and by far he was my favorite. He's quick to return your email, will even call or Skype to help with issues, very easy to talk to, funny, and knows his stuff! He doesn't talk down to you like some Professors. I highly recommend his classes.

I'm currently taking the summer "accelerated" version. It is very, very accelerated, 6 weeks. However, Prof. Rock is very helpful, will even sit down w/ you and help guide you w/ the assignments. I don't see how anyone could fail this course.

Easiest A ever. Everything in class is open Google. There's quite a bit of assignments but all the answers are either in SimNet or Google. Professor Rock is also funny and informative. Everything is online so take the class online because you don't even need to go to class to finish the course.

Honestly hes a great professor. He tried to make it a little more fun but the class in general is boring, not to his fault, just the material. He lets you use notes and the internet(quizlet) and gives extra credit. Definitely take him.

Perhaps maybe I did this class wrong, but it seemed very overwhelming. Prof Rock was very kind and always accessible, but Testout is extreme, and that's the program he uses for his class. I spent hours and hours taking notes and still did not pass. I spent so much time working on this class, I didn't have time for the other class I was taking.

Easy A, he uses TestOut, basically you watch a video, complete a lab, watch a video, and take a quiz. You can repeat as many times needed.

What a great professor! He doesn't mind answering any questions and will always help his students. The material and hw is all on simnet and they are not difficult to do. He also has an unlimited time quiz each week with 3 retries.

Easy class. I had to buy the program for the course. I think it was around 100. You are basically learning all Microsoft 365 programs. You can find ALL the tests on Quizlet/Subjecto. If you get stuck on projects, look them up on youtube for a step-by-step demonstration.

I took CGS 1000 online with Prof. Rock. He was awesome! He was very punctual whenever I emailed him if I needed help. Quizzes and tests were open book/note. There was a decent amount of assignments to do each week, but it wasn't anything crazy. All the assignments were just how to Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Easy A.

This professor was definitely a 10/10 no doubts at all! He gave me and the rest of my classes the whole semester to finish everything before the last day of spring semester! Make sure you come in to class and do a attendance verification which takes less than 5 minutes to do! Easy professor and he will certainly help you with any problems!

The course is basically just reading the textbook and following the online learning platform for Microsoft Office work. With that said, Prof. Rockefeller always responded to any questions very quickly. There are videos on YouTube to guide you through the independent Office projects. Exams and quizzes are open book, class is overall an easy A+.

Self paced course but the professor has a suggested pace in the syllabus that helps a lot. Everything is graded in real-time and overall I liked this course. There's also extra credit opportunities to get an A+.

The quizzes were so easy I didn't even need to read the questions. They were multiple choice with one answer option that is two to three sentences and the wrong answers were only a couple of words. The answer choices were hilarious because they were so obvious. You could easily take all the quizzes for the entire semester in less than an hour.

He always clarified my doubts with patience. Also, he gives work and that can be finished in days.

Easy A+ class. Professor is super helpful and responsive. Assignments are straightforward - just practice Microsoft Office skills. Unstuck AI was a game changer for quiz prep. Highly recommend this course!

Online summer class - I finished all videos and assignment on excel, access, word, powerpoint in 1st week so I didn't have to pay $125 for SimNet. The class was organized with clear due dates, cool easy quiz system, tons of extra credits doing more assignments, crazy time-consuming workloads in each week but easy.

Super easy A. Quizzes are the same as test. Given 99 attempts. Everything is due last day of the semester so requires you to pace yourself. There are lots of YouTube videos to help you with “projects” if ur confused but he offers team meetings too. Class felt like a participation grade.. just submit the work and ur fine. Offers extra credit too!!

Class was super easy everything is due the last day of the semester so its self paced. All the quizzes are multiple choice no lock, and are SUPER simple. The independent projects do take a little but there is countless youtube videos for them out there.. I got the class done in 3 weeks I really loved the class

This class was awesome! You can redo assignments to keep your grade up, which takes off a lot of stress. Dr. Rock even built his own AI helper that guides you step by step and helps with all HCC questions since it has access to the student handbook, this man is brilliant.

Great professor, took him for intro to computers online 6-week session. Very easy class, was assignment heavy, but if you kept on track with his schedule, it will fly by. Sent out weekly reminders for assignments. Would definitely take him again.
