I had him for Cal I in the summer, i end up with a B because i got lazy on the final but on the first two i got a 92 and a 87. Do the HW, the test is base on it. No tricks on the exams, just study and practice the material. Not hard but time most be put

This guy is a genius in computers, but not too good in his math courses. I took several classes with him, and all u need to study is his handouts. U don't need the textbooks. If u do your homework and study the handouts it?s really easy.

Goto class. Do your homework and get a good study group to cover stuff you miss if you are absent from his class. He values your attendance so make sure you go to all classes and he will take off points for late and tardiness so get to class early too.

Do your hw, and come to class,and you'll be fine. he is genius and really knows his stuff. Average test grade, for the class is usually B. He wants you to do well. Awesome Prof.; someone I look up to.

One of the most intellegent men I have ever met. A very difficult proffesor who expects your best and if your not willing to give him that he is not willing to give you a passing grade. If your looking for a challange this guy is the one to take.

Awesome guy. i had him for c++ II ,data structure, object orienting, and will see him in data base, and even though i have got mostly C's in his classes, he is still the best and smartest professor I've known. i just wish i had taken him for CALCULUS. if you do homework and understand it you are set

Not the easiest teacher to have but makes up for it being extremely good at teaching and explaning things. If you don't do okay in his class it's either because you are lazy or in the wrong class/major. He puts a great deal of effort into explaining things and giving out detailed self-made handouts.

One of the best!!! Take him for what ever class he offers. Go to his class, do his homework and take his easy tests, its my guarantee that you will get an A. But you have to work you cant lay back and fool around to get that A.

He's great teacher very helpful. He always has time to review with students. Test are a little hard but wouldn't change him for any other teacher. You actualy learn in his class.

His lecture is very organized. You will defintely learn something if you just follow his process. And you don't need to buy a textbook( He uses a lot of hand outs.) He is nice guy, and very intelligent. Have you ever seen a prof. who has two master degrees in community college?

Look at all the degrees this guy has! He takes the material very seriously and expects you to do the same. If you want to take a math class just because it's a requirement, don't take him. If you are majoring in math or CS, make sure you get this guy at least once. By the end of his class you will know if you have what it takes to major in MAT/CS

He is simply the best professor I've taken in College so far. He made a difficult class seem like child's play. It was basicly spoon fed to you as long as you do the homework and the group work. Take this professor, you will actually learn the subject rather then just be a body in the class!!!

Extremely intelligent man! He is very clear in what he asks of his students and offers alot of help. The material can be difficult, but he does his best to make sure everyone understands. Alot of assignments but none are over the top. Can be boring at times, but it's worth it because he is so helpful.

In honesty, he's the best teacher I've had at BCC by a lot. He does give a lot of homework and expects alot but you walk out knowing EVERYTHING he basically spoon feeds you the material

Probably the strictest math professor ever. Acts as if he just came back from the iraq war. Cool it tough guy! Other than that he makes sure to explain the material thoroughly. He's just rude to those who come in late and hardly hand in homework. I had a 82% test average, ended up with a D due to lateness and missing homework. C'mon!

He is a great math professor. He lets you know what to study and goes over the material very thoroughly. He also gives worksheets with all the material he teaches so it is actually better than going throught he text yourself. His exams are just like the worksheets. If you pay attention in class and have a good attitude you will be fine.

3 easy exams(80% grade)group/homework(20%) must do homwork in order to pass. final is 150pts. exams are derived from notes and handouts.I didn't even crack open the book. it's waste of money. explains lectures very well. u have to be either sleeping or braindead to be lost in lectures. helps u during office hrs. and tutoring center is also helpful

Dr.Forsstrom is the best instructor for comp.sci in there is in BCC..though I know he is ver tough but u will learn alot fr him though I know I failed most of his class but fortunately got my degree. As long as you do your program right (never copied),do your HW, and do good in his test..you will pass and you will make it out of the program!!

I took Calc One in the summer. He is crystal clear and to the point. If you do the homework, you will ace the exam. He grades generously and his homework is harder than the exam so you are ready when you do the homework. Do not need to buy a text book so there another good thing.

i took cal 1 and 2 from him. he has 4 degrees 3 masters 1 phd. he has terrific sense of humor. JUST FOLLOW THE instruction!!! DONT BE ABSENT and LATE. DO ASSIGNMENTS. HE IS NOT difficult extremely easy. you must be dummy to fail the class. he is the man. just take it.

Best Math Professor I ever had at BCC. BCC should hire more professors like him PERIOD. He knows his stuff inside and out. Very brilliant and an influential man. I was lucky enough to be one of his students. Do the HW, read his handouts and you will do fine. Don't be absent or late to his class.

Below my opinion, I can see a stupid and arrogant opinion. Cal 2 is not easy and not a joke. Without homework, no one can be perfect in front of cal2. I just say this: When I was in his class, I felt his passion and devotion to teaching, and u will feel samething. Concentrate on his instruction, then, at least, u will be confident in front of cal2.

He gives homework every night, collects it and grades it.He gives quizzes every day. But it all helps u practice for the exams. DON"T be late to his class. If u show up late, even if it's 5 minutes he takes points off, even from your homework. HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. He's is super smart. HE gives partial credit.u dont really need to buy the book

I took this professor last semester he is not so difficult a good teacher knows math is head of the math department explains well, his exams are not so difficult could not use a calculator all semester but didn't need to. Group works easy, homework everynight mostly based on points scale help build up grade.

Dr. Forsstrom..hands down..best math teacher i've ever had. he explains so clearly, step by step, with structure, what to do. the homework is an easy opportunity to up your grade. he's VERY smart, but usually "VERY smart" also equals "VERY poor teacher" (Dr.Feigenbaum, for ex!), not the case here-he makes calc. understandable! highly recommended

He is very clear about the material and DOES NOT TRY TO TRICK U LIKE OTHER PROFESSORS. even if he does, he already tells u what to expect!! he is also EXTREMELY helpful if u go to his office hours with SPECIFIC questions. the only reason why he gives u h.w. every nite is b/c he wants to prepare u 4 the test. Took him for c, c++ and database systems. The database course is EXACTLY the same as a 400 level FDU course he taught. He is genuinely interested in his students and it shows in his work. This is a man to grab as a mentor if you can

If you're debating whether you should take him or not, TAKE IT!! He's a very good professor. He teaches math step by step which makes it very easy to understand. Very organized and takes the time to let you know how you're doing in class. Take him!

Took him over the summer for Linear Algebra. Got a B in the class, but not because of him (I'm just bad with summer math courses, but who isn't). Gives clear explanations in lectures, grades your homework, and gives groupworks at the end of each class. Keep up with the homework, study his handouts, and you should be good to go.

he is the best in Bergen. i just dont like hime in on thing. the homework that he gives, he doesnt grade all of it. he grades whatever he likes. i think homework is homework. i think he grades the ones which are familiar but how about someone did the all homework and got tired to get those hard math problems and in the end he doesnt correct it.

Dr.Forrstrom will not hold your hand through his class, but if you ask questions after class/during office hours he is very helpful. I got a C in stats because I'm not a math person, for math majors hes awesome..for non math majors...ummm good luck!

Professor Forsstrom does group quizzes, which are kind of strange? you'll either grow to love or hate them. Overall, he's a super effective teacher. I've taken Statistics before with other professors and never even came close to understanding it. Prof. Forsstrom made Statistics super manageable.

If math isn't your strongest subject, then you probably shouldn't take his class. He's a pretty tough grader but he definitely knows what he's doing. You'll learn in his class but sometimes he moves a little too fast through the material

I had Forsstrom as a professor for both precalculus (Mat-180) and calculus III (Mat-282). He is easily the best professor I've ever had, just made sure you put in a lot of effort. He is very fair, and won't test you on subjects you never learned.

Prof Forsstrom is such a good professor and I learned so much from him. I really enjoyed this class too. The only thing is, I had an A average for the class before the final. The final dropped my grade to a B+ because it's worth 35% of your grade. I asked my former classmates and they experienced this too. Make sure you study A LOT for the final!

He explains things clearly but watch out for group projects, homework and attendance since he takes 2 points off your final grade for every absencelateness, 20off for late homework. I had to use my colombian techniques to pass the course, but generally feel that he's still living life like a beginner but doesn't realize this is only the beginning

Back in 2002 I had Dr. Forsstrom for most of my computer science and math courses. I have to say that, now that I am working in the industry, everything he taught me is invaluable. He is a model teacher and there is not one day that goes by where I don't use what he taught me. He is tough but what he will teach you is irreplaceable

Dr. Forsstrom is the BEST PROFESSOR AT BCC. I took him for multiple math courses and his classes are AMAZING . I wish I could take him for all my other courses. He is knowledgable and his teaching method is the best I haver ever seen. He makes you keep up with the material, do your hw, and work hard, actually teaching you how to succeed in college.

Professor Forsstrom is actually a great math professor, and that's coming from a student who strongly dislikes math. I feel like numerous enjoy taking him because he can actually TEACH. Randy is like a finely tuned android whose sole purpose is transferring knowledge into your brain. He is fast paced, straightforward, dryly funny, tough but fair grader, and one of the best prof.'s at BCC. If you want to be more laid back take Ockay or Feigenbaum (also great). Previews and coming attractions; if you miss class you fail.

He is the head of the department for very good reason. Teaches math in a way that is logical and understandable. He is very inspirational if you like pure mathematics and he seems unapproachable but if you share a passion for mathematics he is an amazing person to talk to and learn from. I give him credit for BCC having such a good math department.

He is very straightforward when it comes to tests and lectures and he always given you all the material needed to pass his class with an A. You just need to attend and listen well. the professor was great, all you need to study is the notes he gives. unfortunately for me, language has been a difficulty. i wish he posted videos of lectures as a plus even though it is not required as I knew it was asynchronous before taking it. He is a bit rough with grading everything has to be done exactly right,but he gives open book exams.

Brilliant professor, extremely organized. Every thing is on point. Read the notes he send and do a couple exercises and youll be good. Calculus 2 is not that easy tho.
