Not very good. Learned nothing about non Linux OS's. Books assigned are absolutely useless for testing, he doesn't use them at all. During lecture, he mumbles A LOT, very hard to hear. Very difficult to get him to help if you are having trouble. CONSTANTLY talks about work he did in the '80's and Japan.

Langley is an awesome professor! Lectures can be a tad boring sometimes but overall he's a great guy, teaches what you need to know, and injects a little humor while doing so. Great personality, very down to earth and realistic. One of the best professors I've had at FSU thus far.

Very easy. It was my first time ever using UNIX / Linux and I found the class to be very helpful in learning it. The power-point slides he reads from have been perfected by Langley himself so you wouldn't even have to go to class and you'd do well by just studying them at home. Very helpful with questions and knows mastery of the material.

The most boring class in my entire existence. Since I don't know squat about computers and programming, his lectures are difficult to understand and therefore boring. Almost all of his slides are opinions and he doesn't explain anything. He just introduce something and say how cool it is and moves on. I guessed on the tests and got an A.

Just not a helpful professor at all, whenever you asked about something, he'd never know the answer. Avoid this professor, really. Unless you depend on being more bored than you'll ever be, and having to teach yourself. He just reads off of very simple slides word for word. The Assignments are easy, and actually interesting. The tests are VERY HARD

Take a class with this professor if you're interested about his trip to Japan. He reads directly from the slides, and the slides are very unhelpful. If you're stuck with him, just don't go to the class. It's a waste of time. All you need to do is read and take notes on the book and you'll pass. The assignments are easy and have video guides.

Terrible. He refuses to speak loud enough so that all students can hear him, even with a microphone. My peers have requested that he raise his volume, and he actually starts mumbling more! Also, he moves too quickly through assignments, does not look up, and does not hear his name being called. In most lectures, he talks about random things. BAD.
