no tests, just 3 papers
Always the same work, no test, same 3 papers that u can hand in whenever u want
interesting guy
easy class. get what you deserve
Interesting and well taught course.
Very helpful.Understands your problems even if they're not school problems.Great lectures, very explanatory.Gets pissed off if you dont pay attention. No tests, just papers. If you get notes from class you have your paper ready.
Excellent teacher, very understanding, boring at times, and sometimes laughs at his own jokes, but great guy. doesnt penalize for late work but alot of reading

Very easy class. Quite boring at times. Good teacher nevertheless.
This guy is great, good lectures, i have learned a lot- lots of reading, but well worth the effort... can hand in papers late, good grading policy (has a TA), understanding about problems, but does not like the talking in class- its very amusing
This guy is great. Let's you make up the papers and rewrite them for a better grade. The more pgs you have the better grade. Use quotes in papers, the ones he gives u. Doesnt like noisy class. On the last day of class u can hand in all 3 papers.
refuses to help students, insults them and screams when they ask questions, no clear instructions, cant use computer, handwriting illegible. There are no formal examinations. Students are prevented from getting good grades.Terrible!!
you will do 10 times as much and your grade will be 10 times as bad.this individual is a disgrace to Baruch College and should be banned from the school. He is disrespectful, rude, and obscene,he thinks he can do whatever he wants because he can.
MEAN PEOLE SUCK!!!!
I think I am going to fail. I hope no one here makes the mistake and ruins their gpa like I have. Good luck!
BEST.... no other word to explain him.
He is the easiest person I have ever taken. I never went to class and all I did was hand in all the papers the last day of class and he gave me an A-. He is the best and he is recommended.
Those 4 ratings on 4/1 and 4/2 probably were maid by the same person who is extremely lazy to come to class and take notes (you don't really have to read books to get a good grade). Last semester I was taking esl and still got A- in this class.
I had him a few semesters ago and thought he was great. He's VERY smart and knows his stuff and is able to keep it interesting. There are 3 reports that you can hand in last day of class and no tests...take him. he's a lot better than others
Classic Professor. He does not like any sort of disrespect. He will then talk like your parent or some sort of disciplinarian. Otherwise he's good. If you a decent student you will do well. If not... I dont know what to tell you
Awesome. Honestly don't read the other comments. Listen in class, all essays only from what you write in your notes.. Very essay. You could rewite your paper for a better grade. You'll low him. Explains very very well
I personally didn't like this class, but I have to say that he is not a tough grader, and is very clear when it comes to the assignments. We had 6 HW based on reading and three papers. All assignments had to be written at home and could be submitted on th
I have to say that this is not only a very easy class, but it's also interesting.
This guys is so interesting. his way of talking is effective. but it also depends on what he's teaching. i learned abt ancient greek n it was very interesting. his tests r just 3 papers n he doesnt even read them, he gets one of his students to read.
Very organized and neat. He's been teaching this class for many years, so he has a good method and makes the topic very fun. There were three essays, all from notes and class reading...no outside sources needed. no final and a few homework assignments.
Best prof. i have ever had. Does not count latenesses, only have to do 3 papers which you can hand in at the end of the semester. No tests. Also interesting.
excellent mastery of his topic, interesting
Great class This guy knows what hes doing
Very easy and clear. Gives 3 paper. you have written assignments that he don't read so you don't have to put much effort in. The class is very interesting except when he got to the part with the Bible. After that you hate him if you strongly believe in the Bible.
3 papers are pretty easy, he gives you what you need to write about. however, however, DO NOT talk in his class. you'll regret it. overall, he's not a bad teacher.
Very very easy prof. Don't talk in class at all. He gets really POed when ppl talk "while he takes the roll". 3 essays, no tests, couple of HWs. If you have no clue what he's talkin about then it's boring, but if you can follow him, its pretty interesting.
great professor...actually sticks to the subject! interesting topics and know what hes talking about.DONT EVEN BREATHE TOO LOUD or he'll lecture you on how distracting you are! he hears EVERYTHING.. essays are easy
Easy proffessor, take other people's advices and DO NO TALK in his class. 3 very easy term papers, if you dont know what to write-talk to him. If you do bad on your paper he lets you rewrite it and tells you what to add to your paper, easy A
He's a great Professor. He is a bit on the strict side about talking, but the class is pretty easy. All you really have to do is show up. No tests, 3 Essays based on reading and/or notes. Really knows his stuff. Although he likes shock value sometimes, and loves to talk about the history of sex.
hes the best. hilarious beyond belief. easy class. 3 papers. you can rewrite them for a better grade. awesome teacher. very good lectures. highly recomended!!!!!
One of the best professors at Baruch. He is nice, clear and very straight foward. He'll tell you exactly what you need to know and there are only 3 papers. It's very hard to fail that class.
This is my doggy. Only A i had. Make sure not to leave his reports on the last night tho. Do all your work and you good.
Easy grader, amazing lectures. Simply put, if this class is open to you, take it.
3 Papers, 5-7 hw assignments that he doesn't grade but only sees that you do it. You can't get worser than a B+ in the class.
easy prof. kinda anal about talkin, so jus shut up. 3 papers each 10 pages long, but he tells u wut to write exactly so take notes in class n stay awake. 8 easy hws, jus copy them from someone, he never really checks anything
Great Professor. Great lecture. He actually cares about students. Essays are long but very easy if you take good notes. NO tests and easy to get an A. But make sure you don't talk in Class, He's very sensitive about that.
Easy A. Take REALLY good notes cause you need them to write your 10 paged essays.
It was 3 6 page essays for me not 10 pages, but it's all from the notes and the parts of the book that he tells you to underline. His class isn't that hard but requires work. Can snap at you for no reason sometimes. Still he's VERY knowledgeable.
Lot of work, he is interesting though can be boring at times. Just do the papers well cause he is a very hard grader.
Very easy professor. The work he gives can be alot, 3 papers in one term, but he tells u exactly wat he wants u to write about, and is a vey easy grader.
somewhat easy grader, one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, Jesus can be boring but just pay atention to his class and take good notes and you will have no problem writing the first 2 papers the third paper wasn't so easy but there are no tests or quizzes just three papers and an oral presentation and dont talk in class
He is the best in his field, hands down. Be ready to take like 3-4 pages of notes each class. He gives 3 10-page papers, so you need ALL the notes you can get. The papers seem long, but trust me, he gives a **** load of notes, so you'll have pleny of material. Oh and "do not talk while he calls the roles"...he will SCREAM at you, lol.
He is a very easy professor. There are like four papers but you use ur notes and the reading materials to answer the questions. Plus he gives you the outline on how he wants the paper to be written and what should go into the paper. OH, and get this, he does not grade the papers. He has an old student to grade them!!
just take good notes & don't talk in class
3 papers (6 pages long) and several homework papers; no tests in the class; Takes attendance every class and is very serious about it. Don't talk in his class, take notes and you will do just fine. Some of the classes were actually very entertaining.
Sometimes hard to understand by his accent. Other than that, his essays are straight forward. Do the hw, attendace is important. Class conversations can get pretty interesting. Will never put you to sleep. Awsome professor.
i took him for history as well. really nice guy knows a lot about jesus and greek history. allows rewrite up to the final no exams just papers. his very objective in teaching reglion which is not easy but if you can't look at the bible objectively don't take him.
smart professor, thought he was gonna be strict, but turned out to be pretty cool, no tests, only 3 papers and 5-6 2 page papers that are on a pass/fail basis make up ur grade, gives u a chance to rewrite first 2 papers, dislikes george bush, and will take a shot at him every once in a while, and his lips are purple, but otherwise, very cool
Very cool professor, at the beginning seemed boring but made the subject interesting, knows what hes talking about but tries to make everyone believe his opinions, good guy though, easy essays
he doesnt leave a good first impression, but he actually turns out to be a cool guy, no tests, all papers, very liberal, uses bush in a negative fashion but he does it in a funny, helpful way to help us understand a particular scenario,he is an atheist, and that doest help when he is teaching the bible part of the course, but overall, i recomend him
Take lots of notes and you will do fine. He is very passionate about history, and sexuality. Must bring your book everyday!!!! Three essay that are at least six pages, double spaced.
no tests, all papers but they can be hard. all based on notes & quotes from the book. take lots of notes. if u ask him to help rewrite ur paper for a higher grade ( its allowed) he'll tell you exactly what you need. can be boring at times, but he knows his stuff and tells good stories to liven the class up once in a while. I'd take his class again.
bottom line take good notes you will do well in the class. just put your notes intoo sentence forms for the paper and you will get an A. do not speak when he is he can go LUNATIC on u!
The papers were a killer, dere were 3 of them but they can be re-done for a better grade. definitely knows his stuff. can be funny at times but don't get on his bad side(talking when he's talking)bc believe me when he gets mad you don't wanna be in dat room. Most of the topics were intereting just take a lot of notes and do the papers n u wud pass
at first he may seem harsh, but as the classes go by, his lectures get more and more interesting. no tests, just papers (which all 3 are based on the notes and references in the books). as long as u just sit down, shut up, have your books, and take good notes, u shouldn't have a problem with the class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Prepared techer. 3papers. u can rewrite. interesting topics. hard papers but if u take notes u have no prob. papers consists in reorganizing the notes adding references from the books...u just need to copy and arrange the arguments. Fanny, but dont talk + bring the books so u can sign the parts that he uses as references (more easy for u).
YOU HAVE TO WRITE TOO MANY PAPERS AND HE GIVES THEM TO OTHER STUDENTS TO GRADE, THE GRADERS DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO GRADE, SO YOU GET a D OR C-
THe material itself is not easy but his leture is really helpful as long as u pay attention and make good notes~
This is one of the easiest classes at Baruch. There are no tests, just three essays -- which are long, but easy, as long as you take good notes. Yes, you have to put up with some temper tantrums here and there, but again, it's an easy A.
3 Papers... (LONG PAPERS, 6-10 pages) and 6 homeworks... The assignments are time consuming, but basically write very good notes that indicate page numbers of important quotes (makes writing the papers easier). A is very attainable, I got one... hopefully you will too.
Trumbach is cool. Some of his lectures make you laugh b/c of his bluntness. The 3 papers get progressively harder, especially the 3rd since it he kept jumping back and forth in the Bible that it was hard to take comprehensive notes. He's anal about talking and he will scream if you don't stop. He's a good professor...take him.
He's a little anal but it's common sense to be respectful in class. He knows his stuff. The papers may seem a little hard and long to do. But if you take good notes and read along with him you should do fine. He's incredible. I love history. I'm glad he was my professor. EASY A.
Excellent prof. Expert in his field, makes class fun with intresting jokes, but also is very serious when it comes to teachign the lecture, wants class silent when he speaks. There were 3 papers what is great is that you could rewrite the essay. I had a problem with the 1st paper and Trum. was helpful to outline and add commetns to what was missing
he's very anal retentive but extremely knowledgeable in his field. Very good professor. Extremely clear down to the details. Easy class. All you have to do is attend all classes, take good notes and base your essay on his notes. Easy A.
Best history professor Ive ever had...3 papers and thats it and he gudies you through them all...I hate history and got an A-
He's one of the best professors. There are only 3 papers. It's pretty easy if you actually take notes. He's really smart and adorable. easy A. completely recommended
do not take this professor!!! 3 papers are very very hard to do!!!! u need to read a lots! even you did good, he won't give u a good grade! he never explain to you clearly! you need to read the book and find out the answer by yourself! he gave the unfair grade to the students. be careful!
do not take this professor~ 3 papers are extrememry hard!!!!! you need to read a lots every day. 3 papers are basic on his notes, but it is so hard to take a good note in his class! many people dropped from the class when the semester start a few weeks...be safe, do not take this class....
~... He gives only 3 papers which are really long. To write them u have to take all the notes and highlight the sections in the books that he mentions in class. the class can be interesting sometimes. attendance is taken everyday. Easy A.
he was the EASIEST history teacher ever!!! although his papers were long... he didnt grade them himself... it was his TA doing all the grading and it sure seems like the TA didnt give a crap about what you wrote. EASY A!!!!!
The easiest his. class I have ever taken! I have always hated his. but after taking this class I wish every 1 was like this. It is crucial that u go to every class becuz u need to take notes in order 2 write the 3 essays. He gives some reading but he goes over wat is important the next day. They are long essays but an easy A, take him!
whoever gave him a bad grade is dumb. the essays are so easy to write if you take notes in the class. he even goes over what you should cite. he's really nice and smart. great professor
If you want to get an A on your paper you have to take notes and write exactly what comes out of his mouth. Easy A!! Although i must warn you sometimes he gets these **** attacks..lol..he's really sensitive to people who talks too much in class, so don't talk or else he'll bang the table real hard..all in all great professor.
Very easy class as long as you take down everything that comes out of his mouth, cause that is all the info to write your three papers. The only hard part about the papers is that they have to be atleast ten pages long, the TA doesn't care what you write as long as it is ten pages or above.
This is an easy class but you must take a lot of notes. There are 3 essays which are not grade by him. His TA is a very easy grader as long as you write the minimum pages required. Very easy A.
easy class. 3 papers and a few short assigments. no exams/final or anything. just take good notes because it'll help you to write your papers. easy A
Excellent professor! He inspired me. Listen to every word and write as many notes as possible, bring a tape recorder if necessary--his words are crucial if you want an A on each of the 3 essays. He's just great :)..and funny
may seem intimidating at first, but hes a nice guy, make sure to take notes to help you on his papers. his ta grades the papers so its easy to get an A
amazing professor, easy class. grade based mostly on 3 essays, and a few homeworks (though i do not believe hw had an effect on the final grade). as long as you pay attention, highlight quotes in the text, and are a decent writer, there is no reason to not get an A in this class.
easy...easy...easy class! 3 papers, which are basic on the notes and the book! you can quote as much as you can; and about 6 to 7 short assigments. no exams!!!! just take good notes because it'll help you to write your papers. if you dont satisfy your paper grade, you can rewrite it!
Do not take him for history. He just scribbles things on the board as notes, which is hard to read and understand. he is not clear when speaking, and as a result i was usually lost in class. he spends most of his time talking about strabge things like how in ancient time men would have sex with male children, and they get far more strange than this
Take him if u want to get at least a B,BUT u have to stand his obsession when talking about sex between ancient men, and his bad mood, and crazy reactions, don't be late,DO NOT TALK IN CLASS!!DON'T be ABSENT! take a lot of notes! 3 essays (pain on the...)a few homeworks!Bring books! interesting at the beginning, totally boring and useless at the end
he is funny in a weird way and the class is easy but he's too demanding. can't talk in class or forget your books or he will embarrass you in front of everyone. skips the books so towards the middle of the semester will use most of them. loves talking about sex. likes to bother the people sitting in the back. very STRICT especially with attendance
easy class but he has hissy fits. as long as you`re quiet in class & bring the books he won`t bother you. i skimmed most of the reading before class cuz he goes over it. just highlight EVERYTHING he states from the books cuz thats whats gonna help u on the papers. you have until the last day to hand them all in & his TA grades them.
Had him last semester, seemed like a nice guy at the beginning but it got ugly. He has temper tantrums, doesn't allow you to speak a word and will throw LONG essays at you. Add that in with the pop quizzes and it's one very hard grade to earn. BTW, He's grading his own papers now, so no more easy grades.
Nightmare. Unfair Grader, Tyrant in the classroom. Don't even say a word or you will be called out. I tried my hardest in his class and only got a B- and I have a 3.75 GPA. Avoid at all costs.
You get three papers per semester. He may be strict on lateness and bringing the required texts but I can't say that I didn't learn anything from him. He knows his stuff since he rarely teaches from notes. He just stands in front of the class and spits out information, may it be weird or interesting.
He is actually a really funny teacher..his tantrums make everyone laugh... his class is really interesting and easy if you take notes and pay attention. No tests all you have to do is write three papers which are really easy if you take good notes.
At first he may seem intimidating but his class is very straightforward You get three papers per semester Each paper is about 26% of your grade. You get about 6 or 7 hw assignments which is in total 16% of your grade. And thats it. If you screw up on the paper, he lets you rewrite them for a higher grade. REALLY important that you take GOOD notes.
Write down whatever he spits out so you can clog up your essays, that's the way he likes it.
Great professor! If you do the work, no reason you shouldn't get less than a A-/B. He really knows his stuff & theres no test. Three papers & u can rewrite all three for a higher grade. Use your notes for the paper & it'll come out to like 10 pages. very simple class.
Extremely knowledgeable professor. Practically spoon feeds you info which is very useful for the 3 papers. Very tough but its because he wants to teach. Just do all h.w assignments, take notes for papers and you'll do fine.
The man loves to talk about Athenian sex, will belittle your intelligence from time to time and seems to be on a mission to convince everyone there is no god. SO WHAT! The class is easy, just show up, write down EVERYTHING that he says, you need it for the papers. You can literally hand in all of the work on the last day of class and get an A!
Great professor, really knowledgeable. If you take notes, you will get an A. You get like 13 HW assignments and there pretty easy but some are long. But he's a great professor with a giant ego and will sometimes go out of his way to stop class and just tell everybody to be quiet. So don't talk...he will find you, he will call you out.
Pretty decent professor, takes attendance at he beginning of class. He gives three papers, he last one IS the final and two of them you get a re-write.They are graded and he will return them with comments exactly how to fix your paper for an easy A. If you take notes easy A in the class, because all of his papers are basically his notes put 2gther.
This class was relatively easy. All you need is to do the three essays (which can be relatively long, but his student assistant grades leniently) and the 8 really short homework assignments. Just make up your essay entirely from what he tells you in class.
My notes were simply anything he wrote on the board. Did the papers the day before and still got an A on the first two and probably on the third since I got an A for the class. Don't mess around in class, he takes that serious and gets pissed (very obvious). Gave 8 short hws never given back and I pretty wrote whatever. He's still a must take!
Hes a great teacher!!! though he spits a lot, but he knows his material, an easy A if u take good notes and do all the hw (just do it even if it isnt 100% right)and papers, he talks about SEX a lot, also u can redo ur paper to get a higher grade
LMAO, hes insane, but knows his stuff. he gets mad every ten seconds and spits like a sprinkler. all papers and attendance. the papers are long, but you will get through it. hes good, but doesnt have time to talk to students individually.
He is the BEST FREAKIN HISTORY TEACHER EVER!!! I hated history but he made it very Very VERY interesting!!! and a perk, he talks about the history of SEX a lot which is always tons of fun :)
He basically explains everything you need to do the papers in class, but he goes slow so the only problem anyone should ever have in his class is staying awake. He's a nice guy, but he WILL wake you up if he catches you sleeping.
Interesting class! I like how the professor is always so enthusiastic about all the topics he teaches in class. For every paper, he gives you two topics to pick. I would say this is a very easy class. The papers may be very long but if you take good notes in class, you'll get through it easily.
BEST FREAKIN PROFESSOR EVER!!! I decided to major in history after taking his class!!! If you don't take this class you will deffinetly regret it!!! If you love, Greeks, sex and humor.. you will love this class :)
Great Professor. This class is definitely an easy A if you can take good notes. Only three essays no final. I took him in the fall semester and it was the only class I actually learned something.
Just take notes and hand in All homeworks and 3 essays in on the last day and get an easy A
Just Come Everyday, Take Notes on EXACTLY What he says, Follow the outline of the paper, hand them all in, receive a grade, meet with him n he tells you what to add to get a A on the paper, hand it in on the last day, BAM. Cool guy. its fun to laugh at him get angry. Not bad, you can pass this easily.
Great teacher! Really interesting and super easy. 3 essays no tests and he writes an outline for you before. If you do badly, you can always write it over. He's really helpful and funny.
His class is really easy. You grade is based on the (3) essay grades you get. It's really easy to write his essay because you just need to summarize or re-word the class notes. There are no in-class exams and don't count any participation grade.
Really good professor, easy A..3 essays based entirely on class notes and the textbooks,,you have to pay attention in order to get the required notes to write the essay. ATTENDANCE IS TAKEN! He gives 10 hw assignments that are 16% of your grade so hw does matter...overall really good teacher..yells when people talk over him though.
TAKE HIM
One of a kind
Beware he can be very harsh and tough sometimes. You usually won't need to do anything in this class except take notes and listen, seriously, don't even talk. He has a somewhat low voice and refuses to use technology, so you're better off listening and paying attention. His grader grades the paper, and the grades aren't always fair.
learned a lot, very influential speaker. May seem unapproachable and strict at first but when you talk to him one on one, he's very nice and has great insight on how to make your papers better. taking history now as a minor because of him
Don't talk over him or when he takes attendance, he gets so annoyed when people do. DON'T EVER LEAVE CLASS EARLY. He throws a fit and will yell at you for trying to leave earlier than everyone else. Pay attention so you can take down notes cause his handwriting is so unclear. He's nice and funny but just stay on his good side.
I learned a lot from sitting in his classes and taking notes. Instead of tests, he assigns papers but they are all lengthy, specific and really hard to do. He doesn't read the papers either, he has a graduate student grade them for him, which makes it hard to improve the paper when this ghost is grading it. He has a short temper and bad attitude!
DO NOT TAKE HIM! One of the least helpful and receptive teachers I've ever had! Doesn't listen to anything you have to say, and will scream his head off at you if you approach him after class. WORST TEMPER. You won't learn anything in his class. Avoid at all costs.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE READ WHAT WAS ASKED OF YOU BECAUSE HE WILL CHEW YOU UP IF HE ASKS YOU A QUESTION AND YOU DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWER. IF YOU ARE GONNA TALK DO IT BEFORE AND AFTER CLASS NOT IN BETWEEN BECAUSE HE HATES DISTRACTIONS. HE GOES OVER ALOT OF HEAVY MATERIAL FOR ESSAYS SO TAKE GOOD NOTES AND YOU WILL PASS. NOT MUCH IS REQUIRED OF YOU.
TO PASS- READ ALL THE CHAPTERS THAT HE ASSIGNED. show up to class and pay attention, this professor gives you an outline to your papers which makes everything easy and self-explanatory. There are only a few homework's, that are easy to answer. He is thorough, can be strict so pay attention.HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT YOU TAKE HIM!
Okay, this class is NOT easy. There's a ridiculous amount of work. There are about 8+ homeworks, mandatory readings, and three papers (the latter two being ridiculously long). You NEED to take as many notes as possible. The more notes, the easier the papers. He's a really cool guy (though short-tempered), and knows a lot. But an A is possible.
He is very very sweet guy, nice and understanding! Don't talk while he is talking. Do your hw and make some notes. He covers the same thing for 5 times so u will be very prepared for the exam( essay). You will not regret. Easy A!
The topics discussed weren't all too interesting but his lectures make them a bit more clear. Very important to take notes as his three essays will be much easier to write with them. He gives you a complete outline to follow for your first paper which can also be used for the others. No exams, attendance mandatory, get's annoyed when ppl talk too.
Prof. Trumbach is one of a kind. If you pay attention, you will learn incredible things. He knows his stuff, is an amazing orator, and tells the funniest and spiciest stories; he has a PhD in the History of Sexuality so be aware, he talks about sexuality a lot, always in a respectful and constructive/ historical point of view. Highly recommended.
Grading standards for essays are a little ridiculous (like 4/100+ A overall). Be ready to rewrite your 3x10+ page essays because very few get A's without it. In general, not that much work, not a hard class. Average difficulty for an A, kind of frustrating.
Attendance is mandatory. About 8-10 homework assignments which is very simple to do. No Tests/Midterms/Finals, but 3 essays (8-10 pages each). He tells you exactly what to write in them so it's easy. Lenient grading by grad student and can rewrite if you want a better grade. Very monotone and boring, but try to follow through and write GOOD NOTES!!
First paper was very simple; I recieved a B+ which was ok. The second was a bit harder (B). I'm currently writing the last one right now and it's hard. 3/4 of the semester was on ancient Greece and now all of the sudden he moves to Jesus. It's so random. I'm probably gonna get a C in the class.
Very straightforward and simple class. Professor knows his stuff, so just make sure you take down good notes and you'll be set. I got a B+, A- and A on the three papers, did all his homework, and got an A for the class. Highly recommended.
Trumbach is very clear how he wants everyone to write their paper like. He has a specific format that he will explain when he assigns the 1st essay & it should be followed especially the introduction. This class is not hard. Just write down EVERYTHING he says and it will be EASY to write all 3 essays. You can also rewrite the first 2 essays. IgotA
Not easy. 3 papers. Although no exams, these papers have to be 10-15 pages each to get A's on them (he said it himself) The grader is lenient however. You need lots to write and if you don't take notes in class, you won't have much to write. His low voice and boring content make it definitely hard to focus.
Interesting lectures. His job as a historian is to go through the obstacle of finding information and putting them all together. The good thing is that he presents these "already put together information" to us. The story is there for you! no need to use your brain! Just take notes, attend every class like a decent student. Dont procrastinate. A++
Extremely knowledgeable and crystal clear about what he teaches. Don’t miss the class, don’t talk when the class starts, and absolutely no electronics during the class. Read, do your homework and write everything he says and you will ace the essays. Listen to him because he gives out very valuable life lessons that take years to learn on your own.
All of his essays are based on what he says. If you take great notes, at 9 am in the morning, then you will get an easy A. However, he is disorganized when it comes to teaching the material, so he may go into certain topics that may have nothing to do with the essays you will have to write. If you are a morning person, take him, if not, think hard
So he's pretty straight forward and teaches some interesting stuff. However, he has a temper and makes comments like "that's why this isn't Yale" and some more not so nice things. Kind of gets on my nerve sometimes, he doesn't appreciate the type of students here or their ability
He is a great Historian. In his class you have to read the material but do not worry the reading material is easy to understand. Grade based on three essays No Exams... He sets up appointments so that you can rewrite the essay. If you do exactly what he tells you to do you will pass. Also DO NOT PLAGIRIZE it is not good for you and he will catch it
No test, just papers. Love his class, he's a little mean though but I don't think he means any harm by it. Super easy grader, honestly I was missing 23 of information for my paper and he still gave me a B. Also lets you redo the first two paper, which he would personally tell you what you're missing. Don't be late, stay awake in class.
A simple class as long as you can take notes and turn them into a narrative. A paper that is longer than 10 pages is the simplest way to get an A. Also, it's imperative that you include all - and I mean all - details from his lectures. Leaving details out is the main reason for a grade-drop. Only idiots would sleep through the class.
Pay attention during his lectures and you should be fine. He basically tells you exactly what your papers need to get an A and you can redo the first two. He can come off as mean but its actually quite entertaining. No test just three papers.
He is the BEST!! Follow his instructions and please please please do NOT do any plagiarism because he will notice it and do not talk while he is talking. Also, write as much as you can so you have a good base for the essays. Not test just 3 papers and a few homework assignments. Go over the topics before the class.
Get ready to write 3 tough papers. The class isn't difficult content-wise but there is A LOT of reading and the teaching style is sometimes disorganized. You need to be at class and take notes to understand what he wants you to put into the papers. Professor is not the most personable, but he's funny at times and the subject is interesting.
Trumbach assigns three papers completely based off of the text and his lectures. Do all of the HW or else! No tests. He is old so be aware of his old fashion skills. Believes his way is the only way. Received 2 A's for the first two papers, did all of my HW, and got an A- for final grade. I'm sure my last paper was well written. So I'm iffy w him.
Hate that i think hes a good prof bc hes super old fashioned and strict, but tells you everything that needs to go into paper and is sometimes interesting even though i hate history. 3 long papers and some written homeworks. take notes from lectures and you should be fine
Lots of little homework assignments, all based on readings. You can rewrite papers, three in total, for a higher grade, which can be submitted at any point throughout the semester. All papers are based on the notes in class; attendance is a must! If you're there everyday and jot down EVERYTHING he says, this class will be pretty straight forward.
This class is okay. Three papers that are to be 6 pages long based on class discussions. That being said, it's very important to show up to class and actually pay attention. I found him to be rude towards some kids when they couldn't answer something in class. ALWAYS BRING YOUR BOOKS TO CLASS!
Always bring your book to class, and actually read it. Write down EVERYTHING he says, or bring tape recorder. Papers are easy if you do so. He gives you the chance to rewrite the papers. Attendance counts, don't be late.
Old professor, grumpy. interesting class though, take the notes that puts on the board and they'll help a bunch on the papers. 3 papers throughout the semester, no exams. Lots of books though. Written hw as well
There was three Essay for this class. Two were based on in class lectures not to bad. The third one was based on three books that we are supposed to read. The lectures are pretty boring drink coffee before class or you will fall asleep. If you try somewhat on the essays you should receive an A.
3 Essays, 2 of which you can re-write. The essay's aren't that hard as long as you take notes during the lecture and copy them to your essay. I actually found his lectures to be quite interesting but I can see why many don't. He is VERY rude when it comes to talking AT ALL in class or if you don't bring your book. Avoid those and you'll be fine.
Professor Trumbach wasn't all that bad. At first I thought he would be a difficult professor to get along with since he can be rude but in all honesty he's not that bad. Just don't talk, go on social media, and pay attention to class and you'll be fine. Being that I like history most of his lectures are pretty interesting.
Prof. Trumbach isn't that bad but this class is difficult. There are lots of homework to write and you need to read a lot of pages before the class. Three papers in the whole semester. You need to pay attention to the class and take notes(sometimes he talked really fast and I can't follow it) If you talk in class, he will definitely embarrass you.
Trust me his lecturers are worth listening to! The readings are kinda boring but he does not read it in class, instead, he tells you stuff that are not inside the book, which is why the class is intriguing! 3 papers in a semester, you can rewrite the first two. Take note of every word he said, it will come in handy when you write your papers.
clear grading criteria, a lecture based class in which you have to take notes of literally everything he says in order to not be confused and lost when you're writing the essay. The essays are literally regurgitating the information he speaks abt in class, in a rigid format, no creativity or writing skills involved. Inflexible and boring, in sum.
As we transitioned to online, he vanished and left us with two papers that were due in May, with absolutely zero guidelines on them. I assume they consist of just regurgitation of summary but it feels like a waste of energy to write them and they are such a large part of the class grade.
Not a bad Class. Professor Trumbach seems to be grumpy all the time but his knowledge on the subject. Be prepared to take notes in class because thats what the papers are about. They're three papers all with a rigid format with no writing skills involved.
Professor Trumbach does not have a computer. When classes moved online we were not contacted by Trum until a month after. Then we got a replacement profesor who graded all 3 of our papers. Makes you work for it.
The class is based on three papers. The papers are easy if you take notes in class and write down everything he said. Professor Trumbach doesnt have a computer so you have to come to class to hand in the papers and ask questions. When we transition to online, we were replace with a different professor.
Terrible professor. Focused on religion and seems like he's trying to make you convert. Only three papers for the semester with no midterm or final.
Class was useful but easy. 3 papers which BASICALLYYYY require you to summarize his lectures. I didn't mind the first 2 but the last one killed me. I didn't want to learn about Jesus lol. Boring and waste of time but EASY A so just take him if you need to take a history class. Just summarize his lectures (include a lot of info for higher grade.)
Very rude when he responds to your emails, but not gonna lie, I learned from his lectures. My advice is that you gotta write a lot of pages, TRUST ME. I regret not writing more pages, I could've received an A. The First 2 papers were easy, but the last one wasn't, and try to find online texts of the J bible, buying a bible isn't worth it.
The class itself was decent. There were only 3 essays the entire semester. The first two essays were easy but the last one was tough to write. It's good to listen to the audio lectures the professor posted because they were helpful for writing the essays. Feedback was posted after grading which also was very helpful. No tests or quizzes.
grade is based off three papers from audio lectures and documents he provides. last paper is heavily based on the new jerusalem bible which he makes you buy a copy of. in all honesty if you are not a fan of history then you will find the lectures to be boring to listen to. final paper was the most difficult to write but was managable
I took Professor Trumbach's HIS1001 class in the fall term of 2021 as a freshman. Class was conducted by listening individually to his audio lectures, 2 being released weekly. Prof. Trumbach's lectures are really interesting. He speaks about the subject matter from memory and he is such a great storyteller. Take notes of everything he says. A gem
Maybe it was because this class was fully online but the audio lectures were not engaging at all. It was difficult to hear and can get confusing. Many questions on the discussion board were left unanswered. This class isn't for you if you have ADHD, difficulty of hearing, or have trouble understanding English.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. He's atrocious at teaching and yells at all of his students for no good reason. grades you based off 3 papers, gives way more homework than stated in the syllabus. not a people person, and will scream in your face. so rude and has no respect for you, your life, or what you do outside of class.
Beware of the high rating: it's all because of the online classes. If you're taking this man in person, he is downright FOUL. Great lectures but disrespectful, yells quite frequently, and has humiliated more than a handful of students per class. A tip for those taking this class: write AS MUCH INFO AS YOU CAN ON YOUR PAPERS.
He points and screams at someone each class for not listening which makes students practically scared to approach him.Too many homeworks, a lectures consists of 2 books and a handout at the same time and jumps from one source to other which is very hard to keep up. Papers are really especially 2nd and 3rd one.
He started off the semester by saying that he doesn't use blackboard, if you want to contact him you have no way of doing so and you have to wait weeks to find out your grades. He's so rude, he gets upset easily, and assigns homework every class but the course is graded off of only three papers. Other than his ways of teaching, it was an okay class
Professor's chill. 3 papers & 7-9 hws. Listen closely to lectures, get down everything he says *with given page #s!* The 3 papers are written ONLY with lecture notes & the books read in class. If you write everything he says with *page# citations*, you can use his prompt & paraphrase your notes into an A (grade) paper. Do ask for printed Prompts.
THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER never had such a rude professor,do not take him!
He is a great professor and his lectures are always fun. He teaches with a passion.
His class was easy as long as you listen and pay attention. Class are grade by 3 paper for my classes and he did give out homework, but he said it won't be counted as your grade as long as you do it. He's very rude as he scream and yell the students, and it's basically impossible to reach out to him since he don't use bb nor email.
Very rude to other students, thinks everyone should automatically understand the class after a few sessions
I took Professor Trumbach's course on the history of Jesus. He is an older guy (no doubt) and speaks slowly, but you will learn a lot. Still, if you show up, it is not a very difficult course. The grading is based on 3 papers and a brief oral presentation. He looks intimidating, but he grades very fairly.
Class is graded on only 3 papers. He will go over exactly what he's looking for. For the first paper, he literally tells you how to start off each paragraph. That should act as your guide for the rest of the papers. Do all the HW, you can BS them. Also, don't skip the class; everything he says can be used in the paper. Be sure to take notes!
I had his class in Fall 2023. He will call on you in class to answer a question (things about the book he assigns so please read them). He grades off 3 papers and he gives you the format on how the write it, what information to put. It's an easy A if you read the book, write down what he says in class, and follow the paper format.
Keep an open mind. I loved his class. He challenged everything I knew. It's been weeks yrs. And still think about that class.
The professor has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it pays off. Lectures cover a lot, so staying focused and taking detailed notes is key. For study prep, unstuckstudy and the course textbook were really helpful alongside the required papers.
