I did all my accounting classes at WVC with her. She put me through accounting fundamentals basically. The class is boring... yes but it is accountings what do you expect?? Randy explains accountings principles very well. The tests are very predictable. She grades really fair. I recomend her for accountings at WVC!

Was well prepared and knew the material she was presenting. Was very helpful with any questions. Her tests were no suprises so if you do the work and give a little effort, then you shouldn't have a problem.

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Definitely the MOST organized. Very patient and willing to explain things a million times. I purposely took acctg 11 with her and changed my major to acctg because of her. Do the homework and practice problems and you'll do well and understand the material.

Excellent instructor. I became an accounting major after I took this class. I still remember everything she taught. She lays a solid foundation for basic accounting that is fundamental to the subject. I wish I had her for all my accounting classes at SDSU. She is amazing!

I took both Acctg 10 and 11 with Mrs. Castello, and was quite organized. Be prepared to take a test every other week, which can sound daunting, but at least you have plenty of chances to make up points. Acctg 10 was quite easy, Acctg 11 was VERY HARD.

the class was 2hours and 30 minutes but it never dragged she always went over the hw and took as long was we needed to... i understood the material almost immediately because she goes over examples while she lectures so it makes it very easy to learn she is very helpful with questions and wont rush you out if you go to get help

Randy is awesome! I took her for both Acctg 10 and 11 so I'm used to her teaching style. Some say her acctg 11 is tougher because there are a lot of material to cover, but as long as you do the examples and hw, you'll be fine.

The classes require a lot of work (11 needs much more than 10) but you will learn a lot, and if you are having a hard time, Randy is always there to help. Tests are similar to the homework, so if you did the work, tests should be easy. Great teacher!

Her teaching style is different. Acctg is a really boring subject, and I don't think there is much that can be done to make it interesting. This lady is really understanding, helpful, and lenient. However, this is not an easy class and I would recommend taking her on campus rather than online.

I took ACCT 11 during Summer 2011 & Randy is a great teacher with excellent notes & examples of how to slove the problems. Responds to emails in a timely mannor and is helpful!! Any 8 week summer course is tough but do-able when the teachers good. Learn the examples, read text book chapters all you should be okay!! Practice, Practice, Practice...

I took online acct 11 with Castello, she is an excellent teacher. She answers all emails and works with you with due dates. Weekly quizzes and HW but no final/midterms.This is a five unit class so there is alot of work but it is not hard. Get tutoring in tutoring center with Jenny, she is the best.I recommend!!

I took Randy for Acct 10 & 11. By far one of the BEST teachers I have had at West Valley. Class can be challenging & lots of work but as long as you do the homework & attend class, you will do fine with exams. She is extremely helpful if you need help & her class examples are clear! I highly recommend her :)

I took Ms. Castello for acctg 10 and 11. She is very helpfull clear and understanding. She made acctg interesting and easy to get a grip of. If you do the HW and listen/pay attention in class, youll get an A. Her tests (about 7-8) are just like the HW. Shell help you with anything. Do the HW and youll be good to go!!

Acctg is not an easy subject. Ms. Castello is always there to help. She says she can teach anyone accounting if they put the time in and that is 100% true. Each ch. builds off the previous one so make sure you fully understand each concept or go in and ask for help. Go to all class meetings and do the hw. Put the time in and the grade will follow

By far the best teacher I have ever had at any school that I have attended. Just do your homework and ask any questions you might have. She wants you to understand what you're learning, she wants everyone to succeed. Just do the checkpoint problems, study for the tests, and print out the examples and chapter solutions.

Hands down the best teacher I have ever had at any school. She really cares about whether you get the material or if you have any misunderstanding before moving on to the next chapter. She is unlike most teachers that I have had in that she really does care. Do all of your checkpoint problems, they are easy points and help with each chapter.

Great teacher. She is very clear but it doesn't drag the class on which is good. She is very knowledgable and is a great teacher of the material. Homework and group work don't count for much points, so the bulk of your grade will come from tests. She is very accommodating when it comes to making up a test from sickness and office hours are good.

I took her class as a high school senior and really enjoyed it. She makes sure that you have many opportunities to get points and receive a good grade if you are doing your homework and her check points.

Make sure that you attend class & work hard if you want an A... Her Checkpoints for each section are life-savers. She teaches Accounting by having you do Accounting. It's the best approach I have seen to teaching Accounting so far. She's very helpful IF you do go to office hours. The last couple chapters were a little hard to understand though...

Castello knows a ton about accounting. Her lectures only cover what you need to know. She is always willing to take extra time to explain if you are struggling. Her tests are difficult! She is a grading machine and catches all your totaling mistakes, but will give as many points for partial answers as she can. Do the homework!

This class is not easy! I def had to work my butt off to get an A in this class. I went to office hours many times, and I spent a lot of hours practicingstudying. The tests are tough and very long. Randy is helpful and accommodating. DON'T buy the textbook. Her lectures are good enough. DO the hw and checkpoints. Practice many times as neccessary

I just finished Financial Accounting with Randy and she is great! Her presentations, outlines and assignments are extremely helpful so DO ALL OF YOUR ASSIGNMENTS. She took the time to explain everything that I didn't quite understand in great detail. Quick grader too. Don't buy the book. I am definitely taking Managerial Accounting with her.

She is really helpful and willing to explain everything again if u don't understand. A lot of material, the exams are similar to the handouts, so study and u will get an A easily. Take both accounting classes from her. She remembers everyone's names, and takes role for the first few weeks.

Her tests were not actually tough but take SO LONG!!! It will take you 2-3 hours per test but if you did the checkpoints (and understood them which you should because they are easy and she gives great feedback) you will be fine. Assignments can be long and tedious but they are really easy and you know what to expect. Highly recommend this class

All of the assignments and tests are very long, I'm talking 2-3 hours. But if you did the assignments and got help from her when needed, you will easily get an A

Randy is a great teacher. She's clear on her expectations and wants you to succeed. She assigns homework regularly, and gives practice exams that are nearly identical to the exam itself. If I had trouble with concepts she tried to explain as much as possible. Don't ask dumb questions, be respectful and you'll learn a lot. Would totally take again!

Class is tough. Im pretty good at this stuff though so I was able to keep a solid A until the last 2 weeks of class when the last test and the final got me and she dropped me to a B. You really have to pay attention and study your stuff to do well in this class.

I am lazy and detest work whether it is manual labor or school. This will never change. There is quite a bit of homework in Accounting and I do not like homework. In spite of homework, I did enjoy this class. That is a lie. I am alive only because there are no tall buildings or long bridges at WVC. I may not have passed without the office hours.

She teaches ACCT 10 pretty well. I took her online in the fall. Tests are similar to the homework and lecture. There's a ton of homework! There are 5 timed exams and a final on the last chapter, an IBM project which is due on the last day worth 50pts, 5 financial statement projects. She gives you good feedback, very well organized & really helpful!

I made an account on RMP just so I can rate her Randy is the best teacher I've ever taken at WV. She is passionate about what she teaches and makes accounting fun. Her practice exams are pretty similar to her real exams, study those and do all her work and you'll pass with an A I would recommend taking her class to everybody!

I've taken her for Acct 10 & 11, both online. She knows her accounting and is able to provide clear powerpoint lectures that are easy to follow and very concise feedback to help identify problem areas. I'm not a math person, I was one of those who had to start with Math103, but she has gotten me through this! Alot of homework, but I needed it!

AMAZING - THE BEST TEACHER EVER! I took her acct 10 and 11- she is so beyond helpful and is really patient if you don't understand something. Her teaching style is perfection! Notes and lectures are very organized and there are no surprises on tests or homework. 10/10 would recommend.

took her for a winter class which was compressed down into 14 meeting periods, we had to do a chapter a day to keep pace and she was able to highlight and teach the details that were most important in accounting. Pretty straight forward grader, you score well she grades well , i only got a C but i only put in C work . she is a real accountant

If you do the hw for practice, pay attention to the group work, and study the pre-tests you will most definitely get an A! I also recommend tutoring if you're lost b/c it really helps! She is so kind and calm I am so glad to have her currently!

I took this class during the Winter session, it sucked. Don't do it. You do 1 to 2 chapters a day, a quiz everyday, and a test once a week. It was so much info at once to learn and study.

Took this class during the winter! Really fast paced(4 weeks) she doesn't require you to go to class. But it is much easier since you can ask for help. Theres HW due before class & at midnight. Don't take if you aren't going to take seriously ! Take advantage of her help! She is really nice & a great teacher! Passed with an A !

Professor Castello is an amazing instructor. This was my first time taking Accounting, so I was nervous and excited at the same time! She gives very detailed slides to teach us and I find them very helpful. I love how this class has a "learn by doing" feel to it as you really need to put in the work to pass. The exams were very fair and doable!

Nice and willing to help. HW and checkpoints are important than attendance. Her Midterms and Final are the same format as practice tests. Study those and the short answer questions from each HW and you'll do well. Very fast grader too. She always remind about the due dates for next assignments. She's worth taking both on campus and online.

Professor Castello-Health makes everything super clear and accessible! She offers in-depth and helpful feedback for every assignment so it should be fairly easy to understand everything. Her presentations are similar to assignments as well, so it's easy to refer to them, and she will give you help if you need it.

Ms. Castello is a wonderful teacher and a very nice person. Her lectures & notes are very good--often better than the book. She explains things effeciently and clearly, and answers students' questions thoroughly. Gives opportunity for extra credit. There is a lot of studying, but she prepares you very well, and the tests are fair.

This is not an easy class at all. There's a LOT of hw and 6 tests throughout the semester! HOWEVER, she was a great teacher. Her videos are thorough, she grades fast and leniently. Very nice lady. If you can plan ahead and manage your time, you'll be fine. I suggest making friends or a study group; otherwise you won't survive this online class.

However, it is incredibly hard if you want to ACTUALLY learn the material. Expect to spend 3-4 hours doing notes if you want to understand the material and perform well. You get HW & Checkpoints.

I was scared going into this class because I really dislike accounting but this professor was SO good at explaining concepts in her videos. Definitely watch her lectures and do the example worksheets, they will help you out SO much on the homework and tests! This class is work, but I feel like I learned a lot. Definitely recommend.

Although accounting is not the most interesting or easy subject, it has become one of the classes I actually enjoy because of Randy! Her grading is very clear and she gives feedback on every single graded assignment/exam. Doing all the work might be timely but helps. Randy is also so caring and makes sure everyone understands the topic.

This is the 3rd course I've taken by Prof Castello and I can't recommend her enough. She is clear and thorough in her grading and you can tell she wants you to succeed. There is a good amount of work that you need to do but she allows you to re-do them for full credit. She is such a fast grader and you can sometimes get stuff graded the same day.

She was always available and extremely helpful. I took one of the classes in the short summer session where there was an assignment every day other than about 4 days total. Everything she assigned was graded with corrections and notes before noon the next day and in most cases able to be resubmitted and regraded. I don't know how or when she slept.

Took ACCT10 for Winter Session. Prof. Randy gives very detailed feedback of what is wrong on hw. I understand it is a 5-unit course and fast-paced, but damn! Soooo much hw everyday. I believe she could cut down a few questions & we would still be able to understand the curriculum. Very hard class for me, but still respect her and the feedback.
