Excellent lab teacher. He is clear about what he expects, he helps if you need it, he grades easily. There were no tests, no practicals. All we had to do was keep a notebook. I'm taking him again because for one credit, a lab should NOT take over your life!

I took him for lab. Its pretty much straight forward. You copy the procedures you do the homework then you go to class and do the experiment. If you dont know what your doing you could always ask him or just look around. Pretty laid back teacher. The final was easy if you did the homework.

He gives quizzes prior to every lab but its easy if you read the text. He's very helpful. Great Professor! I would definitely recommend him. EASY A!

Lab with him was reall cool.Just gotta do the pre-lab and study for the quizzes. Really enjoyed his class took him a second term for Orgo 2 lab. Just gotta put the effort in and make sure you don't miss a lab. The quizzes are kind of tricky sometimes so just make sure you're ready.

Doesn't like questions that show you haven't prepared. Gets annoyed by immature students. Otherwise the lab was impressive and the lab reports/procedures are very reasonable. Took him for orgo 1 and 2 lab.

This class wasn't impossible but studied a lot. Hint? Read each chapter, do every problem (example, practice, more practice) within it twice (At least. Or more until you perfect it). Don't worry about the chapter review. Look at the powerpoints. He's nice if you show that you're seriously trying. Go to him after class if you don't get it.

He's great. I'm glad took him despite the reviews. He tries to help but for some reason he doesn't understand student's questions when they ask. His tests are easy if you practice the problems. h replaces lowest exam grade with highest.

I understand the reviews but he gives you plenty of opportunities to succeed. Their are only 4 tests. He drops the lowest & counts your highest grade twice. There are 12 online quiz's which he takes the highest 10. I never took chemistry before and got a C and I suck at this subject. You will do fine! Oh & you really don't need the book.

His lab class is very interesting. If you do the work, which is not hard at all, you will definitely get an A. Attendance is mandatory b/c you have to do the labs. Even if you don't know what you're doing it will work out b/c you work in groups. Take him for lab. You will pass!!

His Lab is easy. He types the Lab on powerpoint so no text book use is required. He also posts videos online for you to watch before his class so you'll know what to do. His quizzes are based on his powerpoint and video. He grades fairly. He comes off as being rude and intimidating at first but once you get to know him, he isn't that bad. Take him.

Easy class. Took him on Fridays only. As long as you study and come to every class you will pass. Grades fairly, and tells you what you need to know. Don't take if you have bad study habits because he may not go into depth if he feels it is easy or u should know it

never thought I'd enjoy Chemistry. His Powerpoints are really helpful and he tries his best to make sure you understand. He wont force you to buy the book but I recommend you have one doesn't matter what edition. Don't expect get a good grade on a Test without studying with the help from his Powerpoints and additional problems in your book its easy

People dislike him, he is actually VERY intelligent and a GREAT teacher. He is a weird person but it's just due to his personality - great guy. If you study you will get an A!

Be ready to study. This course requires a lot of studying. He is fair with his exams and if you know the material you won't have an issue with them. Material in his PowerPoint's will be on the exam. You have 4 exams and the 4th replaces lowest grade too. You will have a 40 pt extra credit quiz opportunity. He gives reviews prior to exam.

Attendance counts! If you miss a lab you automatically lose 100 pts. On the other hand, the class is easy just a lot of busy work. You have to write up your labs and complete pre lab questions for 13 experiments. A couple of easy quizzes. I would take him for lab.. As long as you show up and do the work you will receive an A.

Pretty nice guy. Took 6 week class over the summer and he made it pretty simple. Only taught you what you needed to know. I sucked at Chem and passed with a B. Attendance is extra points

Randy Doucette is a funny guy who really breaks Chem down so it is manageable. He has clear grading criteria and does what he can to help you out. I'd take him again.

Although he is sarcastic most of the time, he's easy to get along with and easy to understand. He's very intelligent and knows his stuff. His lectures were very detailed and includes the class for the examples. His grading is clear to understand. Grades consist of quizzes and tests. Book isn't mandatory but helpful for studying. Gives EC! Thumbs up

he's very easy and gives great review test. He give extra credit if you come to his class every day. You will have to go to the tutor if you want an A in his class. He's supper easy; however he's not a good explanation professor.

Professor Doucette is a great teacher. Chemistry is a tough subject and he explains it the best way he can. You have to work for your grade and study all of the power points on D2L. He gives you a review for every exam and plenty of time to study for his exams. If you don't have good study habits, don't take this professor unless you want to fail.

If you're looking for an easy A then you shouldn't be attempting to take Chem with any professor. This guy is great. He doesn't make you buy the book and gives study guides for his tests. Be ready to study but his grading is lenient and he gives extra credit. If you study you will get an A.

I love this man! He is sarcastic and has a great sense of humor. If you are looking for an easy A, you should not take a Chemistry class. It is a difficult subject. Be prepared to spend AT LEAST 5 to 10 HOURS per week studying. Then more hours PRACTICING working out the problems. People who do not do well in his class have poor studying skills.

If your bad in chem take him. this was my second time taking chem and choosing him was worth it. He gives credit on test for trying and will help you with anything you need

Professor Doucette is a solid teacher. His explanations for certain things get lost in translation sometimes, but overall he's easy to get along with and willing to help (which matters a lot in a subject such as CHM1032).

I posted on here before and changed my mind about him. After taking his class I realized how fair he was with grading. Actually he's quite lenient. I'm glad I took him. Just need to study for this class, It doesn't matter what professor you pick. It's chemistry, you HAVE to study.

Be willing to study, show up, and ask questions. He's funny, a little bit weird, but I learned a lot.

Good teacher who will answer any questions. This class will be easy if you study and put effort into your grade. The book was my lifesaver because he mainly read exactly what is on the power points. His grading system is awesome- replace lowest test score with final. Non-cumulative final. He did give some extra credit points.

Chemistry is a very difficult class. The first 3 exams are exactly as the reviews , but the 4 th is very hard . I spent hours in the north campus lab and I got an A. So take him !

All of his classes are mainly him lecturing from his power points, but ask questions if you need too because he will explain. Chemistry obviously isn't easy for everyone that's why I gave it a three, but he doesn't try to make it hard at all. Also if you don't like to study please don't take take this class, you need to study to pass the 4 exams.

I had him for Spring 2020 so we were half in person and half online. He adjusted well and as long as you study you will be fine. Attendance is not mandatory and he gives extra credit up to 10 points per test. I liked him but he does not answer emails fast and he is a slow and low speaker but you will be fine. Chill class.

Prof Doucette has mixed reviews but I'm glad I took him. You will spend some time outside class reviewing the textbook and lessons as he is vague in his lectures. However, he is clear on the grading criteria and test topics. Your grade is only determined by tests and he does offer extra credit. He's always willing to help & funny. Would recommend!

I didn't like him at first, but once you get used to his teaching style, you'll be set. Tests are pretty hard, but he goes over what is going to be on it the class before the exam. If he doesn't, he gives you practice problems to do on your own that are extremely similar to the test. Take notes from the textbook to know what's going on in class!

This is not an easy class and he does warn everyone on the first day. You need to study for this class and do practice problems from the textbook and stay on top of everything. At first, it was really hard but I stuck with it and tried my best. He goes over everything that going to be on the test and gives a lot of particle points.

He was a fantastic lab professor. Really funny and made lab enjoyable. He was lax but made sure we were safe and enjoyed the class. We have to write lab procedures before every class and that's really the only major work required. I had him in the spring of 2022. I highly recommend taking his class for lab

I really love this guy! He's so funny and so chill. He makes what is a miserable class not so bad. And his lab is a breeze! Definitely take him if you don't want too much of a hard time. 3 tests and one final, just practice, practice, practice and you will be good.

The professor is very understanding &will work with you. It is a lot of read but test mainly come from textbook.

He is an amazing professor. I had him for 2 semesters Chem 1 and Chem 2. His lectures are very important to help you on his exams. His lessons are based on how much time you put outside his class to learn. He is very generous when grading test and homework quizzes. He offers extra credit to help boost your grade and is very understanding.

I took Prof Doucette during the Fall semester. I did find the class very challenging at times but as long as you make sure to pay attention during the lectures and study the textbook you will do fine. He also provided extra credit and was very funny which kept me entertained during the boring lectures.

I have taken this professor for CHM1045/L and CHM1046/L. He gives extra credit; and he explains things if you do not understand something from the lecture. Does problems in class and explains what will be on exams. Truthfully, just study and stay consistent with course and you should be fine.

No homework for this class, just exam grades. There is a very leveraged extra credit assignment that he informs you of on the first day. Professor may go a little fast in class, but his office hours are incredibly helpful if you get lost. He breaks things down really well, just be honest about what you don't know. Incredibly caring and helpful.

This class was honestly really enjoyable. Prof was very accessible during office hours and gave a review before exams that was very helpful. Professor tells you which types of questions will be on the exam and has quizzes for each chapter, if you work through the chapter problems, you will do fine. Extra credit was great.

Took for CHM1046L. Labs with him were easy, he was very helpful and clear and gave quizzes before each lab on the instructions and details of the lab. Lab turn-ins were graded lightly and there weren't really calculations involved. Would definitely recommend for labs.

In this class, you had to read the textbook first, then come to the lecture. The professor just fills in the gaps and answers the questions. Without reading the chapters though... Good luck! Overall, prof is super fun and gives opportunities for extra credit, but if you think you will need lots of help and are not planning to read, do not take him.

People take out their hate for orgo on him, but he's super chill and funny. He actually wants you to understand orgo, not just pass. He'll keep repeating himself until you get it. All his tests are curved; there are 4 straightforward tests and timed quiz (open notes, friends, etc.) per chapter. His office door is also open for anything you'll need!

The lectures can be challenging, but if you stay engaged and use resources like the textbook and unstuck AI, you'll be in good shape. Professor Doucette is understanding and offers helpful extra credit opportunities.

Took him for CHM1045/46 and the extra credit given boosts you up a whole letter grade. Huge ec got me A+'s in both classes, just log into the ASC at Broward for a certain # of hours. Can be a bit of a smartbutt but he's good and you need to put in effort too. Online quizzes are a total of 200pts. 4 inperson written exams are a total of 400 points.

Doucette is a good lecturer. He has a way of communicating the information and keeping you engaged. Go to the optional lectures, he will tell you exactly what's going to be on the test. Quizzes are based on the practice problems in the chapters. Read the chapter before class, do the practice problems before the quiz and get the easy A.

Professor Doucette is a good teacher. He is difficult to understand most of the time, but it will be easier if you read through and have a group chat. He curves the test and offers extra credit by doing 20 hours in the ASC. Although he wasn't my first choice, I would take him again if I needed to.

Professor was a okay teacher, even though I didn't really understand everything he was speaking about. Make sure you read your book it will help for the test. He curves test by giving partial credit. For this specific course if you did 20 hours in tutor lab you get your extra credit which was pretty easy.

Prof truly loves Chem. Attendance wasn't mandatory and he doesn't give out hw, but the class is based off 4 tests and 9 online quizzes. Class lectures were helpful but prof would get annoyed if we were confused but he did make sure to go over it again. He uploaded videos on all the topics needed for the test. Gives extra credit for 20 ASC hrs.

He is very thoughtful and can be viewed as one of the generations future chemistry thinkers. He encourages you to press on despite challenges. I'll advice students to take the course alone without another course if they wish to do well in it!

Professor Doucette teaches his courses in a way that requires effort on your part. Before teaching he worked in industry. Has published research. He brings to the classroom real life examples. His lectures can be quite dense. Meaning, one sentence can carry a lot of weight in understanding a concept. Youtube, ASC and office hours help a lot.

I loved him, super easy assigments just follow instructions and youll be good it was the lab tho
