Was a good teacher very entertaining, tests were multiple choice and hard if you weren't into studing a lot, but ok with bell curve.

Goodwin does an outstanding job of explaining each new topic with an entertaining story. You need to go to every class and especially study the practice tests.

I had this prof. for macro and micro. He is one of the best professors I've ever had! You don't need a book, just go to class and take good notes. He explains the material very clearly.

Wonderful teacher who cuts through the confusion to help you understand economics. Tests come from a test bank, so they don't match lecture exactly. But if you put in nominal effort to understand the concepts he is teaching, it's a piece of cake.

Uses stories to illustrate econ principles. The hard part is you have to remember which story goes with the question on the test. The stories make class interesting but it is a little hard to relate to when it comes to the test. You have to study but don't buy the book, come to class

Classes are fun! He's a great teacher and explains things in such a way that it clicks. Don't buy the book but do come to class every single day and take excellent notes! You will have to study hard for the test. Although he appears super easy from lectures, his tests are harder! EXCELLENT TEACHER!

I was worried about econ, but I took the 2200 class after I learned so much in 2100. Prof is great; I would take his class over. He is hard, but prepares you for the tests very well. Go to class and take notes, then study hard, you can do well and learn a lot. He knows his stuff and is interesting!

Easy class and makes learning econ fun. Tests are a fairly easy and his classes are short.

Prof Goodwin makes Econ interesting. Tests are multiple choice but I thought they were tricky. You have to read the question carefully and there are only about 35 questions so you can't miss that many. He is available to answer questions. The book helped me because sometimes the wording is different int he books and int he stories he tells.

I wish I could take him again! No attendence policy, but I came anyway! Tests are easy to study for if you take basic notes and do the reviews. I think I walked out of both of his classes with a near perfect score!

Excellent teach! His stories are always relevant. Most people complain about him because they wern't willing to do the work. Take notes and read the text lightly and you'll get an A. This guy is the reason I switch majors to business!

Very interesting prof. Prob the best econ prof. Makes class interesting by all the many stories he has from Savannah about his brothers. Tests are sorta hard. Not really if you can understand the language on his tests. It is complicated. 3 tests. if you do bad on one you have a 4th one (final) which replaces the lowest test.

Great teacher; very clear; No homework, no papers to write, and no other assignments other than tests. He takes the 3 highest grades of your 4 tests. Tests are tricky, but if you go to class you won't have too much of a problem getting a "B" If you don't go to class, good luck,don't plan on getting an "A" unless you do a lot of independent study

He is hilarious!!! He loves to tell stories but they actually help you to understand what he's trying to teach you. He tells you what to expect on the test and he weeds out all the info from the book that doesn't mean anything. Bought the book, never had to use it. His tests aren't easy but if you take good notes you should be ok.

Prof Goodwin is a GREAT professor. His classes are fun and easy, there's no homework, you don't need the book AT ALL. Attendance is not mandatory, but you want to go to his class because he makes it fun and interesting. There are 3 tests + the final, all multiple choice, he drops your lowest test grade. I got A's on 1st 3 tests so I skipped final.

Very good professor. Only issue with teaching style is the points are made but not for the test. You have a good understanding of real world econ, but not the logic to think trough a test.

Dr. Goodwin is a pretty good teacher. Tests are hard but he takes your top 3 grades out of 4 tests and if you already have the grade you want before the final you don't have to take the final. I felt like he didn't want any class participation or us thinking on our own and he seemed sometimes annoyed by questions but he is still a good teacher.

Encourages questions. Purely lecture. Zero book reading. I made a B with 30 minutes of studying before each test. Highly recommend for the non-Econ major.

For people who hate econ and only take it because you have to, take Professor Goodwin. Econ sucks and Professor Goodwin adds a little humor to the class and uses real life examples to help explain the material. He's very nice and easy to approach.

He almost made me want to change my major to econ. He makes economics VERY interesting, and you walk out of class feeling like you've really gained valuable knowledge. The key to getting an A is just showing up for class and taking notes, which was not hard to do in my opinion. He doesn't use the book. Tests/quizzes aren't bad at all.

Macro during the summer has been one of my best classes at KSU. It was a privilege to take this class and learn how the USA works economically. I strongly recommend Dr. Goodwin.

I took Mr. Goodwin's class over a summer semester, and thoroughly enjoyed it. He is definitely the most likable of the professors I have encountered here at Kennesaw. You can't go wrong taking him for anything. One of the few lecture professors that still manage to make econ interesting. Test questions straight from book/ppt, counts 3/4 testgrades.

Best teacher ever!

I loved his class. He did cover everything that was on the tests. Strict memorization will not get u an A in the class but rather an understanding of the concepts. Missing class sets you back a lot, however, class is always fun. He is very entertaining and I looked forward to going to his classes. It is very possible to make 100s on tests.

Dr. Goodwin has an amazing teching ability. The problem is that he does not teach in the manner that the tests are written and therefore when you see it you have no idea what it is saying. Outstanding professor! Really teaches you how to see through political rhetoric in discussions on economics. 3 tests and an optional final. Easy and fascinating.

He is a very entertaining guy, but that's not to say that you won't actually learn anything. He's been teaching ECON for over 30 years, and his knowledge of the subject really shows. He ties lectures into current events often, and explains things in a way that you can actually listen to the news and understand how it works. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Excellent teacher but it was not as easy as I thought it would be as per the description in previous comments. He does make everything clear but his questions on the tests are a bit more difficult than the examples he uses in class.

Randy is CRAZY and keeps class super light and fun. You have 3 tests and an optional final. Pretty straight forward. The only thing to watch out for are how he words questions on his tests. They are sometimes tricky and really make you think. Over all LOVED him and kept me awake during class.

Excellent teacher! Take really good notes and use the study guide. I received an A in both Econ 2100 and 2200 taught by Dr. Goodwin. Although the book is not used in class I suggest you read it and answer all of the questions for the chapter in the study guide. This will help prepare you for the test. His tests are very hard.

I had Dr. Goodwin at Georgia Gwinnett College this past semester, and he was awesome. I'm a psychology major, so I was taking the class to satisfy a degree requirement, but I left with so much knowledge. Dr. Goodwin is entertaining and hilarious. You'll love his class. Randy is one of the BEST professors I have had at KSU. I thought Macro Econ was really dry and expected to dislike the topic. However, Randy made things very interesting. The most interesting teacher I have ever had. Lectures the entire time on real life situations that are easy to understand. I wish he was still teaching upper level courses, because I would take him every chance I could. Also, if you dont like the phrase 'Damn it' then dont take him.

This is my second class with Dr. Goodwin. He's a great professor! Uses real life scenerios to help get the point across and if you still don't get it, he's eager to help you understand the material. If something is important, he will beat it to death. You will learn from this class as long as you have a set of ears. If you don't like frantically scribbling notes and prefer storytime laced with mild curse words, then this is your paradise. He somehow makes everything - EVERYTHING - relevant to whatever he is teaching. It's kind of freaky.

Very down to earth and uses real world stories related to sports, the economy, and businesses to explain how different aspects of econ work. Very easy to understand and very engaging. Truly amazing teacher. Makes difficult concepts crystal clear and gives great examples. Keeps class interesting with great stories that help you understand the material. Took him for 2100 and 2200 and wish he taught the upper level econ courses, since I changed my major to that after this class. He is probably the most valuable prof. KSU has. Dr. Goodwin is an extremely intelligent economist. He made the class funny and easy and he used real life examples. If you come to class and study the review; the tests are easy.

Appreciated Professor Goodwin so much in 2200 I turned right back around and took his 2300 class the following semester. Had Randy for Econ 2100 and now for 2200. Amazing professor. He brilliantly aligns his teaching objective with life stories and you hardly realize you are learning; but you are! Tests are hard and you MUST learn the material. He clearly states "here's a test question" for key points . You will know what's on the test; be sure to KNOW it.

Randy is absolutely hilarious. If you don't like ECON you will love it by the end. He is a phenomenal professor. The exams are extremely hard, but take this class if you want to learn a ton. I don't think any professor could ever top Randy. He has a great southern accent, it always made my day to hear him talk. He is from the Savannah coast!

I wish the course included a discussion on the ethics of economics, since economic decisions are primarily ethical ones. DEFINITELY need to come to class to pass. Lectures are very informative and all test questions will come from them - no book work. (so no homework! yay!) That said, tests are a lot tougher than it would seem if you just study your notes. He gives a practice test though that's almost exactly like the real one. Study that and you're golden.

Funniest professor I've ever had. You MUST watch his lectures, or you cannot take the exams. 8 tests no lockdown and one exam (optional). Tests are tricky but every single question can be found in his lectures. Lectures take up about an hour a week with no additional homework/studying. Any question you have receive a reply back within hours.

This professor was an exhilarating lecturer that was almost always speaking with an outside voice/yelling loudly. Lectured from a podium and occasionally used his computer when he needed to look up something. I sat at the back of the class and I got an A. No funny business. Just a guy yelling at you and you getting the graphs down until you know it

He is a really great professor. Each lecture is really informative and he is just a funny guy. Good at giving examples and walking you through each topic. If you don't go to class YOU WILL NOT PASS. The downside about this class is that he doesn't post anything on D2L. But 100% take him if you are willing to go to class, you wont regret.

This teacher is known for his funny and great lectures but overall if you miss one of these lectures youre kinda screwed. He says the homework is based off the book and the tests are based off of what he says so be ready to take notes of everything so you can study. Grade is based off of a couple of homeworks and a couple of tests

Dr. Goodwin is an amazing professor, he really relates stories of his like to economics and makes it so much more interesting than a textbook. The class is built on two tests that are simple if you pay attention and homework that is straightforward. Dr. Goodwin is amazing, I would highly recommend his class.
