great guy, funny, not many tests

he was sooo easy, the class sucked if u wanted to learn something because he gets nervous and overwhelmed and he is more into news and current events, but no tests really and not much work, it was a fun class and an EASY A!!!

He's a very easy teacher. Very laid back. If you talk to him after class a few times and do your work on time he will give you an A. No tests and 3 small small essays. HE ROCKS!

AT FIRST I WAS LIKE WOW, THIS GUY IS OUTTA CONTROL. HE HAD THESE CRAZY SHEETS TO MARK EVERYTHING DOWN, AND LOG THIS, AND LOG THAT....BUT ONCE U TALK TO HIM ON A ONE ON ONE LEVEL, HES COOL AS HELL, AND REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS, AS LONG AS U SHOW AN INTEREST. I LOVE HIS SARCASTIC HUMOR!!!!

Journalism (ENG 215) is a very interesting class. After completing this class, I have a new perspective on reading the news. I highly recommend this class, especially if you need the English class to meet a requirement for graduation. The class involves lots of writing, and absolutely no novel reading whatsoever!

Professor Hayman is the most helpful, knowledgeable and easy going educator I have known throughout my time at NCC. He uses no textbooks which is a plus for students on a tight budget and has a great one on one personality. His enthusiasm to teach inspire students such as myself to learn and retain knowledge that is truly beneficial. Thumbs up!!!!

This class is great to take if you are interested in reading and writing about the news. If english isnt your subject you should take this class because it is a completly different kind of class. Hayman is easy going if you just do the work and go to class. You're guaranteed to learn a lot in this class!

Hayman is a very helpful and resourceful prof. He is very fair when it comes to grading and his teaching style is great. I would highly recomend this class if you are interested or would like to take a glance at Journalism. I am pretty sure whoever takes this class will highly enjoy it if they put some efford into it.

this professor made journalism interseting. you do not even have to be all that great at english, since it's a different style of writing. you get a better understanding of how things work in journalism. overrall it was a great class to take because the teacher was funny making the class enjoyable to learn.

I love this teacher......hes the best.. in the begining he sounds like an ass but he it the best. barely any work.............1 research paper and thats it... canceled class a few times.... hes mad chill

Good class if you want a beginnner journalism class. I am not a journalism major and he made the class interesting. Very relaxed and not a stressful class just make sure you make the deadlines. You can rewrite your stories until you get the grade you desire.

A great teacher overall, fun and relaxed. Doesn't like textbooks, and as long as you do what's asked of you, it's a great class. Very helpful when needed, but lets you work on your own. Don't take the class if you don't enjoy writing.

Took Journalism with Prof Hayman and LOVED it. He is a great teacher who is extremely helpful & accessible to his students. Very clear assignments, and he wants you to succeed in his class. Plus, there isn't too much hw. If you get the chance, take his class!

If you're really serious to learn or improve your writing skills, he's one of the best teacher to get. He's very passionate with English and I would say very intelligent too. He also has great materials for the students to better appreciate the styles in writing and to apply them as well.Thanks to him,I'm doing great with my Eng109 this sem. =)

Everyone who has anything negative to say got on his bad side, or didn't do their work. He's a no **** kind of guy, he doesn't really care for excuses, but he's not a harsh grader and he's very flexible. I love his class, we're always laughing. One of my better classes at Nassau. :)

Take professor hayman. Only 1 test and 3 papers. He is funny he makes the class seem fun.

When the semester began I was convinced his class was going to be dreadful and that he was going to be a horrible teacher. I ended up really enjoying his class. We did a total of TWO papers the entire semester, he takes his time and continues to grade your paper until you get an A. I also enjoyed his awkward sense of humor.

EASY AA but not a challenge for us english lovers..lets u revise until like forever..leniency would be an UNDERSTATEMENT! rude & sarcastic..made a few jerkish remarks to me but i just laughed or threw one back at him lol..pretty good guy. you should be ashamed if you get lower than an A.....he makes you rewrite the sameeeeeeee essays until its perfect...attendance is mandatory but for the first few weeks of my class he cancelled class and the rest of the semester he lets you out early. what more could a student ask for??? esp. if english is a weak point for you!

Remedial ENG: Wrote the same essay until good enough to hand in. Had to memorize it for the only test to do at the end of the semester. Sign-in attendance. Very straight forward attitude but sarcastic one. After 3rd week went to class every other week and did computer lab once a week at the library.

Prof Hayman was FANTASTIC! I thought his sense of humor/personality was funny and interesting. He kept me awake in class. His re-writing of Essays ONLY help YOU, as the student. This is the way you learn. I recommend his class! Summer class was terrific. Makes me wish he taught Eng102

I liked Mr.Hayman.Although he was very unorganized he was one of my best professers.For some reason he didn't seem to believe tht I wrote my essay it was so good.I didnt pass b/c I was unable to take the test b/c I had no baby sitter.He was understanding and tried everything to get me a passing grade.I have take the class again but I only want him.

His wisest words, "I AM your textbook." He is funny, knowledgeable in his field, and keeps it real. I wish he taught ENG 105. My only critism: he looks down on college newspapers, I'm the EIC!

so incredibly easy because he is so careless and unorganized. lost most of our papers. hands out A's for writing small reactions in class. he is, however, funny and entertaining. class is an easy A.

I enjoyed professor Hayman's class. he is intelligent and very knowledgeable of the material. he is extremely helpful when you need help.if you follow and actually do the assignments and attend class you will do great, I definitely recommend his class.

One Of the best professors at NCC , very understanding and wants to see you do good, just do your work and come to class and you will do fine he makes sure you understand everything and takes you through your Work step by step so you know what he expects for you to get an A ; If you fail u don't belong in college

Professor Hayman is very helpful and intelligent he wants all of his students to receive a good grade and pass his course. If you come to his office hours he will stop what he's doing just to help you. He will make you redo his essays until it's perfect! Just do his work and don't be lazy! And you'll get an A. You won't regret it, great professor!!

Professor Hayman is a very good professor. His 101 class is a writing class, and you do four papers throughout the whole semester. He is really easy on students, and lets you redo drafts until you get a good grade. He is strict on attendance, and assignment due dates, but if you won't do you work, don't go to college that simple.

BEST PROFESSOR I HAD AT NCC so sweet, extremely helpful, show you care he'll help you get a good grade, dedicated, always has time to help, care about his students, sense of humor , makes class enjoyable. love writing because of him *make sure you save & have doubles of all your assignments, he's not the most organized. don't be lazy, you'll pass

Professor Hayman, I loved your English 101 class. Before taking your class I was shaky on writing essays, until you opened my mind. I loved when you put my essay up on the smartboard it helped a lot. He's a little scatter brained. Reads students work in class, goes line by line to help them in front of everyone, and doesn't necessarily get to every student. Easy class, that I wouldn't take again.

I absolutely love Hayman ! He is by far thee best English professor I have had thus far. Some people take his dry humor way too serious I enjoyed it. The semester isn't even over yet and he's made me a stronger writer . If you take his advice and criticism you will definitely pass and become better

A good teacher, you just have to do your work. Dry humor not to be taken seriously.

He's great, if you are willing to put in the work he'll help you with anything. Gives you extra time to finish the work and helps you write the best paper you can. If you do this he will give you an easy A Absolutely loved having him as a professor. Very funny too.

At the beginning he seems like the toughest teacher ever, but he only gives out three essays. But you must do them. You have to turn one in every week. He can be really scary and he does embarrass you infront of class, but it isn't that bad. He just tries to loosen you up in his class to wear he bothers everyone. He isn't a bad teacher.

At first I thought he was a mean guy. He only gave us 3 essays and one midterm which is the syllabus. He's an easy A class. Just come to class and do your work. He jokes around a lot, so don't take them personal.

Prof Hayman is hilarious. He will help you with anything. Just go to him during his office hours. The class is not hard at all. It's only 3 essays and that's pretty much it. Just take him if you can. He loves to joke around so get ready. It was an easy A for me because I love to write and you can rewrite the essays as long as you want.

It's very easy t pas his class. He only gives 3 papers for the semester however, you must submit 3-4 drafts for each one it. His papers are fairly easy. Be prepared t have it shared on the board in front of everyone though. He makes everyone share their paper, unless if it's a private topic.

I was lucky to work with him in the writing center a few times. I think this professor is a real gem. He gives great feedback and is definitely one of the smartest professors in the school. Don't let first impressions discourage you and don't be afraid of constructive criticism. Successful students challenge themselves. Definitely take him!

great professor, work is easy if you do it as he requests. dude is hysterical. you use the textbook like 2 but you need it. its like 20 $

I loved this professor, he is a really motivating teacher, he pushes you to do the best you can. Listen to his advice, because he means well. he loves to tell stories, and great humor. get ready to write a lot of essays.

after a certain number of absences, you will fail the class, but he is a really nice person, and grades very few papers. I had to write 4 papers in total, and he revised them until they were perfect

I procrastinate A LOT. 15 pages total required for him to assign by the head English person. So he had us do one argument research paper (minimum of 8 pages long) and 1-2 extra papers of our choice. He didn't like kids not going to his class but if you show him you care about your grade/work and do what you have to do you'll do great.

He's not a tough professor but it can get confusing since he only accepts work by email. He gives you the choice of what kind of essay you want to write, it's not easy but he will hold you accountable since it is your choice. If you go to his office hours he will literally help you and give you great feedback. Lecture is boring but you'll live.

If you do what he says, you will get an A, its simple. He will tell you what to fix about your essay until its perfect. He wants his students to do well and get good grades.

Amazing Professor. Very kind, helpful, and corporative. Gives very little homework also give very little homework. He is one of the best Professors I have ever seen in my lifetime. Highly recommended.

I said I would never teach after bad College experiences. But from a student view point I see what some Professors faces daily. Respect goes along way and the good ones mean us good. In high school I always struggled with my writing skills, professor hayman changed that entirely and helped me fix it right in class. He is an Easy A, yes but he really cares and wants to see you do well. He may come off as rude initially but don't read into that he is one of the nicest and most hillarious profs you will ever meet Highly Reccomend

The professor has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it can pay off. Attendance is mandatory, and the workload is manageable. Unstuck study proved helpful for exam prep. Overall, a decent class if you put in the effort.
