I love this man! Best history teacher every, talks about the facts as if he'd been there! He even reenacts some of the events! Didn't know history could be this interesting - exciting even! Great guy!

Very interactive teaching style. Brings events to modern day to help you understand. Communicates with students as if they are equals, not as if they were kindergarteners. In his class, you actually have a say in what is assigned as homework and tests!

This is a very fun class. He really enjoys what he's teaching, and it shows. Its nice to have a teacher that can get everybody excited about the class even when they're really tired (night class). I will definately take another History class with him if I get the chance. (P.S. Ask him to demonstrate how the oracle of delphi made her predictions.)

Basically told history stories from memory, but was always interesting and relevant. Full of integrity and makes it easy for you to want to excel. I am taking more classes by him in the future for sure.

This guy was great! He was really funny, and and made his lectures very fun and easy to listen to. If you do the reading you should not have too much trouble getting a good grade.

Great class, though it was a bit short due to a late start in the semester and only being 3 hours every Friday. Prof. Munsen's love for history shows in his teaching, you can tell that he would love to go more in depth. He draws from his own journey's to Europe and uses cuts from modern film to help emphasize his lessons.

this is the best teacher. He gives his test directly from his notes and a few questions from the textbook to make sure you read all the information,but he also provides study guides. He has visted the places he lectures about which makes alot more interesting. If I needed more history for my degree I would take him again in a heartbeat.

THIS GUY IS AWESOME! I absolutely HATE history but this guy makes this class fun. He show us clips from the movie 300 to show how closely related it is to the real spartans. You can tell he loves history and could go on for HOURS if he wanted to. Have to write a 5-8 page paper though with 8 sources. I hate papers. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!

I took Randy's 101 class, loved it, now I'm in his 102 class. His lectures are funny at times, depressing or disturbing at other times, but never boring. His tests and quizzes are organized in a very simple, straightforward manner. If you just go to class and take decent notes, it's hard to fail. Excellent professor, highly recommended.

Dr. Munsen is such a great teacher, he is interesting, engaging, and you learn a lot from him. I enjoyed his HIS101 so much, that I am taking HIS102 just because next semester. There are not a lot of points to be earned in his classes so you have to pay attention, take notes, and do well on tests, if you can do those things, it's a breeze.

Great teacher. Walks around the classroom and keeps it interesting for those not really into history. Shows videos and slides.

He is a great instructor. I wish I would have taken him for Westen Civ 101. I hate history but he actually made me like it to the point that I would come home and talk about it and rent or watch movies on Netflix. He tells great stories and is interactive. Definitely take him!

Took this teacher for Western Civ. 1 and 2. Amazing teacher! Never before have I taken such an informative history class. You learn so much from his lectures often time you cant wait to learn more. It isn't an easy class by any means. However if you take good notes and review periodically a good grade is very achievable. Wish he taught more classes

Incredible teacher. Dr. Randal Munsen is easily my favorite teacher at Pima. His classes are not hard, He makes them fun, he has an amazing teaching style, and thoroughly knows what he is talking about. I don't see how he knows so much about history. Every once in a while it is frightening.. he is like a computer, except better in every way!

I failed his class due to attendance and procrastination. Which means its my own fault, but he is an awesome teacher, love his tangents, and if you pay attention and do your work you'll do really well.

Great teacher! It was actually fun to take his class. He is a nice guy who has fun while teaching the class. Best History teacher that I have ever had. He assigns a couple book reports which are relatively simple and the quizzes are simple as well. Everything is pretty easy as long as you do not procrastinate and study. Also, do the study guides!

Easily one of the BEST professors at Pima! His classes are always enjoyable and his tangents are the stuff of legend but you actually learn a lot from them at times. Great guy too, attendance isn't an issue because you'll never even want to skip his class!

Took the summer 5 week accelerated class and wished I hadn't. Mr. Munsen is a fabulous teacher and actually had me very interested in a subject that before this class I could have cared less about. The issue was that it is way too much material to stuff into 5 weeks.I did get an A but it was not an easy A.

He is the best history teacher, shows lots of movies, gives fun and amusing lectures, and makes history so fun you can't believe how anybody could hate history. If you aren't fond of history, you had better then take him. His tests are easy and his quizzes are actually fun!!!!!!

As long as you show up and pay moderate attention I see no way anyone could fail his class. He makes the subject seem so easy to understand and only makes you remember key ideas. He makes me wish my major required more history classes.

I've taken Munsen for HIS 101 and 102, and he is an awesome teacher. His lectures are really fun and he has great stories and experience. He has a really good teaching style, using movies, video and lecture. You don't have to read the book, but it does help for the test. I didn't love history before taking his class but now I do!

I really enjoyed taking this class. Munsen was very entertaining during his lectures and always made it clear what he was trying to say. The homework got more intense at the end of the semester due to the expressed class method. However, it was due able. He is very laid back and extremely nice. I highly recommend this class!

His lectures are hilarious, engaging, informative, and lovely. He loves what he does and it shows. One thing that I absolutely love is that he connects the material we learn in class to other, more familiar, things. Beware, if you take his class, you'll want to take every other class of his. Make no mistake: Munsen is definitely the instructor you want to sign up for! My original instructor left 2/3 in to the semester & Dr.Munsen took over and TOTALLY SAVED MY GRADE. Great man & teacher: very knowledgeable, kind, and funny. In-class lectures present the important material from the book, so the book is not very necessary. Best his prof!

I saw one of the other reviews said once you take one of his classes you'll want to take them all and that's absolutely true! His lectures are very informative, yet entertaining and he works hard to make sure that everyone is on the same page. As long as you show up and pay attention you'll pass with flying colors. He's an A+ professor, for sure!

Munsen was an excellent teacher. He was a clear, helpful, inspirational, and a exciting teacher. The class was not boring. There was always something new and interesting that we were learning. His quizzes and tests were not hard if you studied for them. overall, I recommend him to anyone who wants to take a fun class or just wants to learn history.

Munsen is by far my favorite professor at Pima. He is funny and delightful, that showing up for class is a complete delight. He uses a lot of movies and acts out situations in class. His maps are legendary. I have also taken his medieval history and holocaust class, and he is just so helpful. He is always a joy.

I took Dr. Munsen's Holocaust course at PCC and it was a very interesting history class. He was very knowledgeable on the topic and conveyed information clearly. If you show up take notes and participate you will pass. He shows a lot of movies video clips for the visual learners. Highly recommend taking this course!

Dr. Munsen was my favorite professor! I took the express class this summer and it was the best decision I made. Although the class was long, he made his lectures interesting. Mr. Munsen is a fantastic professor who really knows how to teach in an interesting way. He was able to hold my attention through his enthusiastic lessons, so much so I considered taking his other courses and rating him on this site.

Dr. Munsen is the best History professor I've had. I've taken his Holocaust history class, American History, Medieval History, Western Civilization with him. He gives out extra credit and if you talk to him he is more than happy to work with you. I took two of his classes at once and transferred into the second one 3 months late and still got an A.

Awesome awesome man! He knows SO much about everything. Has lived an eventful life and is not afraid to share stories! I love Munsen. I would take every class with him if I could. Take my advice and take any class you can with Munsen. Such a chill guy!

I've got to say, he really knows his stuff! It's very clear through his lectures that he has a lot of knowledge to share with everyone and loves what he teaches. His grading criteria is very straightforward, lots of in-class note taking and heavy (but interesting!) lectures. Really genuine, down to earth guy. 10/10 recommend

Mr. Munsen is a great teacher. He tries his best to make his lectures interesting. Very flexible when it comes to tests/quizzes, he allows you to retake them if you don't do so well the 1st time. He gives you 'outside reading quizzes' and even offers books for students to use instead of having to go buy them yourself. He gives extra at every quiz.

He's incredibly understanding and will help you get the best grade you can. He lets you use index cards during all of his tests. He tries to keep his lectures exciting and would stop lecturing and lets us watch something related to the lecture instead, so we dont get bored. He also lets you retake tests if you didn't do well on them.

This teacher is amazing. I took him during summer school and he knew exactly what he was teaching the students. He let's you use notes on you quizzes. He let's so use his books for reading reports too.

Munsen is a great teacher. He makes the class interesting to where you aren't staring at the clock. You want to be in class. The final is broken up into 3 and taken over the semester and there are 8 quizes. He has a cool personality and I would definitely take him again.

Easy class if you have good attendance as that is a portion of your grade. Aside from that tests aren't too hard but you can retake if you do preform poorly.

If you ever want to take a history class, take his. I've always hated history and would fall asleep the moment the teacher started speaking. With Munsen, impossible. He explains things better than a book or a movie would. Makes the most boring subjects interesting. Ive already taken two classes with him and would take a third too if i needed one.

I was dreading His 101 but this teacher made it interesting and even fun. Randy Munsen is a very kind and funny teacher if I had more history classes I needed to take, I would take him again in a heartbeat. He lectures by talking so there are no powerpoints on the d2l so it is important to show up. He also allows flashcards on tests and retakes!

I have had him twice. (The Holocaust and HIS 141HC) By far my favorite teacher! Allows for 3x5 Index cards for pretty much all book quizzes and textbook chapter quizzes. Combo of videos and lecture with powerpoint. You can retake if you receive less than a B. Has usually 2-3 e.c. options. Make sure to SHOW UP. He does doc points if you don't come.

Great teacher! He really cares that his students actually learn and wants to make sure that everyone succeeds. For test he lets you use notes, so as long as you make good notes you will be fine on test. Also, he lets you retake test as many times as you need it.

Prof Munsen is a very engaging teacher and super friendly. This was easily one of the most interesting courses I've taken so far. I took his course over 8 weeks in the summer so the class was a bit fast paced but he has a lot of extra credit opportunities for the class and a quick grader. He really knows how to keep a class engaged and make it fun.

easy class you have to read 2 books you get to choose from many books he has and you have a test and book review on each of them. thats the hardest thing and its not difficult at all. you can write as many 3X5 note cards as you cant for every quiz and some tests he allows it. he's interesting to listen to and you dont have to pay much attention

Dr. Munsen was very understanding, especially with the ongoing pandemic. Extended deadlines if you emailed and explained your situation. Doesn't require too much work. The class is set up so you can easily get into a routine and know what to expect every week.

I took this in 5-weeks. I loved this class! Professor Munsen is caring and makes history interesting. He is great with communication via email. Watching movies on the Holocaust is a requirement. Tests consist of multiple choice, true/false, and an essay question. I would take this class again!

Hands down an easy A and very interesting. Even though this class is lecture heavy, he finds a way to make it super interesting. Tons of videos are shown & they do normally show up on the quizzes. For all quizzes, your allowed as many 3x5 notecards as needed. If you show up & listen, you'll pass. He has many copies of the books "required" to give.

Professor Munsen is incredibly proficient in his field and can provide entertaining lectures. He can describe events in history with passion while including important details. He is an easy grader and allows plenty of attempts to retake tests. Attendance is a priority, as you will miss information if you skip class.

I love Munsen!! I took both his Holocaust and History of the US classes. He makes his lectures very interesting and he'll also crack a joke every now and then. The tests are very easy, because he'll let you use as many index cards for notes as you want.

I took his 8-week online course, and it was very easy, 1 test and 1 discussion every week. As long as you follow the rubric, you will get a good grade. There is also a really big extra credit assignment at the end of the course to help bring your grade up.

Came back to write a review after taking his classes in 2006. I took so many classes that I didn't need because it was so interesting. Now I'm thinking of coming back to take more for knowledge.
