the most horrible class ive ever taken!!! she makes it a point to embarrass her students at any given opportunity... a quote from her is "i'm not a teacher, i'm a scientist!"
She knows her stuff but you have to work hard for a good grade. She is sometimes disrespectful of her students, but if you visit her during her office hours and she knows your face, you should be OK.
Great teacher - bit difficult, but knows her stuff and is organized while teaching. Sucks that she got pregnant and had to stop teaching my Oceanography class. I would rather have her than that Salmun idiot.

Not a good teacher. Too self-centered, and disrespectful. Just because she is a scientist with a PHd, she thinks shes the ruler of the universe. A word of advice, having a PHd doesnt make you a good teacher. Favorite statement: "Can you please stop talking so I can begin MYYYYY lecture?"

she has little respect for her students and if geology was not a required science- she would not have a job.
Pro.Rutberg is one of the Geography Department’s Best assets. Idiots only filling requirements can’t appreciate her contribution. You'd hate it too if you taught a class with 300 sniveling morons who don't give a crap. If you Like Geography Taking her is a must!
Too much material. Switches subjects too fast. Very difficult grader.
very tough exams, they don't really follow what you think. she seems like a nice enough lady though, very interested in her material.
She has a temper, but can be nice at times. if you have to talk to her after class, wait for a dya where she makes stupid jokes in class and you know you'll be ok. the class is not easy, but if you read the material you'll be ok for the exams.
this professor always points out that she is a GEOCHEMIST and geology is her passion. her exams are hard but if you study you should be fine. she goes extremely fast in her lectures and always thinks that someone is talking when the room is quiet. recommend if you want a d in the class...
she is hard but speaks coherently and conveys the information in digestable doses. the information is interesting and going to lecture is a must for success. i took it as a requirement and walked away with an appreciation for geology. i got a b+.
only had one class with her so far, by far the sexiest professor i've ever had. those stats mean nothing-hence the average was chosen for all.
This teacher explains her subject well in class but she puts absurdly hard questions on her tests. These questions are a step farther into the topics (these steps aren't covered) and they are so detailed. These questions are based on information that is eplained in one sentence in the textbook. Run!
Take this class if you like to fail. worst teacher ever... lectures are a waste of time. Exams are ridiculous.
A very hard professor! This class will definitely provide you with irrelevance if you have no interest in geology. Do not take this class if you want an easy "A". Definitely do not recommend it...lectures are insanely boring!
I found her lectures interesting. Her tests yes are challenging-somewhat hard, but u have to read the text and make outlines!Make the effort! You will not pass if you do not read the text and take notes.A "B" is very achievable.Stop complaining and hit the books!
Avoid unless you want a bad grade. She wants you to bust your ass when 99.999% of the class abhors geology. She is a lazy ****. She doesn't keep office hours, give back exams, takes forever to grade them, etc. However I would poke her.
Professor Rutberg is not unlike the Earth's lithosphere: COLD and BRITTLE. What she lacks in the people skills department she makes up for with her pretty face; nonetheless, the class was still wholly unenjoyable. It's not for nothing that we've nicknamed her 'Rugburn'. And 'we' are Honors students with (soon to be ruined) very high GPAs.
She is the worst professor ever. i studied so hard for her tests and i still did bad because there is SO much material that she puts on the tests. the review sheets aren't good enough, her lectures are horrible: she puts up like 50 pictures and one slide of notes.. 300 people in the auditorium, everything is on powerpoint. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!
This professor is hard but you can make it up with the easy lab class. One of the best lab teachers is Anita Shoup she is great and gives you many chances to make up work and get great scores on her exams. You can pass this class fine if you read the textbook! Reading the textbook is the most important thing. If you read the textbook and read the n
HORRIBLE teacher, you go up to her office to ask her something and she gives you an attitude! Shows too many slides in class and expects people to understand what she says. Hard tests, more than half the class fails and she won't curve because she would be "rewarding" those that cut class!!!! OUTRAGEOUS teaching.
I have never had a teacher make a boring topic like this seem soooo interesting!! I actually wanted to major in Geology after taking this class but after taking a few more geo classes, I realized that it was just her that made it interesting. I wish all teachers had the teaching capibilities and passion that she has! She is truly amazing
Very complicated curriculum. Very hard grader. Unclear.
It seems that her knowledge of science stops at oceanography, which is fine, but she shouldn't teach other related classes. She grades unfairly, demands participation (under penalty of grade reduction), and can be insensitive to personal problems that may interfere with your work.
She interupts about every five minutes to admonish someone having a conversation in the casa carajo section of the hall. The subject's not hard, but she's about as boring as watching paint dry. Plus, she takes the time to point out in every class how we should be sitting towards the front, yet complains about being behind. Find a better prof.
Boring!!
Do yourself a favor...Don't take this class, at least not with Rutberg. She is the pitt's. A terrible lecturer, not only becuase she's boring, but she really doesn't make herself clear. To top it off, her exam's are like graduate level exams, where more than half the class fails, or the averahe is like 57. My advice, stay clear of this class, ok!!!
It doesn't matter that you study hours for her tests. Her tests are extremely difficult. This is an introductory course, not a 300 level course. Not recommended at all!
Jeesh! I've had some bad classes and the I've had some really bad classes, but this is the WORST. This broad is a horrible lecturer, borning as hell, hey half the class doesnt even show up she's so bad. Terrible grader, the exams are 400 level , she flunks half the class, gives no review, is totally unfriendly. Don't take this, you were warned!
It's up to you to make the necessary effort. She is very descriptive and slows down if you ask her to. She is very fair and tells others to stop talking during her lectures. She always loves when students ask hard questions. Just stay focused and you'll manage. Very few get A's, but I believe that I have learned so much despite doing bad on exams.
boring
This class was challenging but her lectures made the topic much easier to grasp. Showing up for lectures is important-alot of people didn't do well because they never showed up for class. She's very fair and she explains how to get a decent grade on her syllabus. Take her class seriously and you'll do alright.
I came,I read,I studied,...I'm doing terrible,as well as half the class. Her exams are not just tough, thier ment for 300 & 400 level classes. Lectures don't really coinside with the labs, while the subject is very interesting and labs are fun and kinda cool, man the lectures suck and you'll see why when you get an exam back, take geography ok.
I had greater expectations for this class. It's an interesting field even though I found Rutbergs exams total over my head and her lectures totally boring, and well uninspiring, if I had know it was like this i would have chosen a different class.
I have put so much effort in this class. I study for the tests well in advance. I read the chapters well in advance. The tests are meant for students who are majoring in GEOLOGY! Not recommended!
HORRIBLE!! I came to EVERY lecture, STUDIED, LISTENED... and I'm barely passing! I've ALWAYS done well in all my classes, I have a 3.7 GPA, and I'm almost failing her class. Anyone on here who says she's "OK" or anything close to her being a decent teacher is WAY OFF... she sucks!! seriously, if you're looking to lower your GPA... take this class!
A true disapointment. A waste of 4.5 credits & waste of time. This is the WORST professor I have had. I like the subject, it's pretty interesting, labs are really interesting and you'l learn a whole lot more there than her lectures which are boring, and totally unrelated to the exams. She' rude, unhelpful, not very positive towards the students.
Don't take Randy. She is a horrible professor. Her class is extremely boring. Her exams are ridicolously hard. You can study as much as you can and still fail. She purposely makes these exams hard because she knows it's a requirement. it's like she hates you if you're not a Geology major. Her exams are on 300-400 levels. beware!
She's truly a horror. Her tests'll cover 5 chapters and ask you really specific questions. It's not 100 level tests. I'm getting an A in the lab and a failing grade with her ridiculously difficult tests. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!She's boring and rude.
Wow where to begin? Besides the fact that she is very grumpy and has no sense of humor I have nothing to say about her personally. Her teaching is horrible, she doesn't know how to use the technology properly and constantly needs help setting up her lectures. If it weren't for the fact that my friends kept me awake idk what would've happened...
DO NOT,I REPEAT, DO NOT take GEO 101 with Rutberg. Her exams are way over everyones head. She's not very clear, doesn't give any review for ANY of her exams, writes questions that you'd have to have at least a Masters in Science to get right. Not only is she all of this, she's rude, and really act's like she doesn't want to be teching this class.
This class is boring! Aside from the class being boring, it is difficult. I spent hours, days, and weeks studying for her tests and yet barely managed to get by.The lab really helps.
Where do i begin? This class is straight-up hard. Her exams are unfair and she has no personality. You can study your behind off and still fail. She teaches the class as if it were on a graduate level. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR.
This is a hard class because she makes the class difficult. If you can take any other science class to meet the GER requirement then do it. This is supposed to be an introductory class.
I can't tell you how much I reget taking this class, it's impossible, and Rutberg is the worst! Obnoxious is an understatement, down right rude would be a better description. Her style is awful& the exams even worse, hoping for 65 is like the medium. DON"T TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR GPA AND WANT TO GO TO GRAD SCHOOL!
82% of the class FAILED the midterm. Many people skip lectures, but even if you DO attend you won't find them helpful. Her lectures are boring, disorganized, and incomprehensible to anyone who isn't very familiar with the subject. You'd learn more by reading the text and skipping the lectures, but it may not help much on the exams.
Professor Rutberg is the best teacher I've had so far at Hunter. She is tough only because she has very high expectations of her students, but she is very helpful if you have questions or need to see her during her office hours. She inspired me so much & increased my interest in geol, & I am looking forward to taking an advanced course with her.
Man talk about bad professors, and just plain mean and unfriendly, what's worse is she really cannot teach, her lectures, the labs, and the exams don't coinside with each other. Take this class your on your own, I really mean this. If you looking to fill a GRE or a take a science into, do not with her, unless you want an F, not recommended.
Wicked! No not the class, Professor Rutberg. A real WITCH of an instructor, she constantly berates the class & if there is a peep of talking, she'll tell everyone thats why you failed 2 exams. Boring is an understatment. This class WAS AWFUL!!! Even if you read the book, studied, went to lecture, YOU STILL FAILED. No review or anything. DO NOT TAKE
No Comments
Save yourself, the time, and your GPA. The trouble is not "just" the professor, it's the class. not recommended
Need an easy F!!! Yeah take this class. Do yourself a favor...look for another class.
to be honest, her tests are very hard...they are extremely detailed and not that easy to pass...her lectures are boring..but shes not a bad person..if youre having trouble, go talk to her..shes understanding...just study really hard for the tests and pay attention to what she says in the lectures and hopefully youll at least pass the tests
She certainly goes quickly, but she wants people to earn their grades and not just slip by. Her tests are difficult but if you study, you will do well: simple as that. Also, she is very willing to help students.
Not an easy professor. Lots of work. Covered the entire 19 chapters of text, (at a pace of 1 chapter/day) u'll need to keep up on readings. She give additional reading assignments & extra credit. Midterm's not hard but the (take home) final is. Lecture is boring & so is the textbook. If u had Earth System Science, this class will not be managable.
If you can't teach yourself from the text, don't take her. The lectures are not as clear & precise as she expects your test answers to be, so you'll be teaching yourself alot. She expects 300 level effort & quality in your work. I did enjoy her & the class tho...she's quite insightful. Truly worth it for those interested in pgeog or climate issues.
The material taught she appeared to have great interest in which made it more interesting for the class. This is a 300-level class, the pace and examinations reflected such. Her personal research brought greater insight to the class. The class is only difficult if you don't put in the effort
If you are considering taking this class, DONT. As a student i thought this class would be less challenging. It was nearly impossible. You have to HAVE TO! read the textbook, the lectures were very unclear and the test were impossible the class averages for the two test were 50, and 48!!!
scares you because shes so demanding. goes really fast, i couldnt keep up at all. you have to read to understand and then some. very difficult but she gave us review sheets which ended up being the test. she didnt really go over it though. hard but i put in a lot of work and got an a. i wouldnt recommend her, she was very frustrating.
Difficult class. Must attend and take extensive notes. Reading textbook also helps. She's a good teacher but the tests don't always emphasize topics discussed in class. Two midterms, pretty difficult.
Sometimes tenure is a bad thing. A in lab, F in lecture. I got a C. She ruined my GPA. Enough said.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!! I am not lying when I say that I honestly wanted to hit myself in the head with a text book as I was listening to her in lecture. She is not informative on anything and is honestly boring. If u want a good teacher take lesley patrick...there's a good teacher that's worth it.
Ugh. Her exams were entirely comprised of tiny bits of obscure information. I mean, we were an intro class. The class averages were dismal and she refused to curve. (At one point, she threw us a bone and told us that she'd drop the lowest score of our two midterms.) She told us that our textbook was poor, but she made us study from it anyway.
She may have good knowledge on the subject but doesn't know how to teach it effectively. People talking drives her crazy, even in a huge lecture hall. If you really want to get the most out of this class and are not afraid to put in some effort take Lesley Patrick... you won't regret it- trust me.
she is boring and test does not reflect the test. her study guide is useless and a complete waste of time! hated this class!!!!
I had to withdraw. She was totally insensitive and expected a lot.
she seems to get great joy out of just how difficult her course content is, and whats worse, is a completely innafective teacher. her lecture is a slideshow taken directly from the book. topping all this off is a complete lack of professionalism (she brought her baby to class and regularly gets frustrated with talkers, who she asks to leave).
At one point, I came to class, sat in the very last seat in lecture hall, and just moved my lips a little talking to myself. She saw it instantly and put me on the spot. Her tests were incredibly hard. Her class was a trap because I signed up for ORSEM, I should have gotten a credit/no credit form. If you like challenge, you go right ahead.
I am not quite certain why the department continues to allow her to teach. She is ineffective to say the least, comepletly and utterly uncaring, not helpful in the least and her tests are a nightmare for 101 students just trying to get the required course. The department should overlook her tests and have them approved before she can admit them.
Absolutely miserable professor. She goes on forever on incomprehensible material and then gives COMPLETELY DIFFERENT info on the exams. I've taken exams in her class that have had nothing to do with her lectures or the assigned reading. I'm sure that AT LEAST half the class is going to fail. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! YOUR SANITY DEPENDS ON IT!
Do not take her course, unless you want a terrible expereince. She is terrible and the department does not care either. There needs to be a boycott of her classes next semester. No one sign up for geology 101 with her, maybe then they will not allow her to teach this course again.
Only lazy students who don't know hard work could fail her. Dr Rutberg is very fair and clear in explaining material. She is super concise and thorough and is extremely knowledgable in her field...maybe too smart for a 100 level GEO class. Take her if you're interested and learning and not getting an easy A.
Extremely unprofessional. Interupts the class with her personal stuff all the time and when a question that involves thinking comes up she doesnt know the answer. She tries to teach off of pictures that make no sense. What nonesense. She is extremely rude, although it is not suprising since she has no class whatsoever. Waste of time and money.
just read the book. she teaches straight from the book. her review sheet sucked... lab profs on the other hand gives you a FULL review. THE actual key to ace her class lies in the lab profs. reviews for lecture exams.
shes boring. she knows her stuff but she doesnt know how 2 teach it to students that are not geology majors. for the science people with a lot of interest she might be useful. key word might be
She is completly untrustworthy. She will tell you something will not be on the exam, and it will be. Her review sheets are a complete joke. She is a horrendous experience. Do not take her. Expect no help or consideration whatsoever, all that matters to her is her inferiority complex and it shows in the way she adminsters the lecture hall and course
she is the worst.
Class takes a lot of effort and time. Those who say she is a horrible professor do not know how to study or read the textbook for that matter. Not an easy A, but you learn a lot. Read the book over and over again.
students just didnt know how to study for her exams. She's actually very fair. All you have to do is read the textbook, it should become your bible for the semester. all her exams are STRAIGHT FROM THE BOOK!!! if you read it, memorize the info! if you have memory probs, drop the course. you need to devote at least 1 full day to study for exams.
I found her passion for the subject refreshing and enjoyed attending her lectures. If you hear that she is boring you have to remember what she is teaching about, ROCKS! Its fun if you like to learn and are not just looking for an easy lab course credit. Highly recommended.
I think she is a great professor, it is not an easy course and you actually have to study and go to class, SHOCKER! If you read through you see most of the people who give bad reviews are idiots and say things like "she doesn't let you talk with your friends in class" "I never went to class, why'd I failed" You'll do well if you're not an idiot!
She is the best and so knowledgeable! Her class is well structured and very informative. If a student shows an interest in learning and an effort in doing well, she is more than willing to assist them and keep up with their progress. Advice to students who complain about her: Grow up and get your act together, losers!
She might be bad in the past, but my expirience with her is good. Her lectures were interesting for me, like National Geography show, with pictures, clips etc. HW is easy and it is about 15% of the grade. Lab is 50%, she drops lower midterm, and final is not cumulative. Amazing, interesting, easy, one of the smartest prof. at Hunter.
To sum up the class in one word - textbook. That is it. Read it-memorize it-screw it, whatever gets you to retain the information is what will help you in this class. If it wasn't for the lab prof. I'd have loved this class.
I dont think she is as bad as some people are saying. BUT her tests are about 50 multiple choice but detailed hard questions that dont always appear in the lecture or book. She is organized and posts her powerpoints on blackboard. Not an easy A at all but she is knowledgable and pretty clear on things.
One thing JUST READ THE BOOK.
Professor is extremely intelligent + teaches at a college level. Fast paced lecture so attendance is a must. If you read the book before lecture, concepts are easier to understand. 2 exams (lowest score dropped!), one final and weekly homework. Homework is easy and will help bring your grade up if you do it. Highly recommended!
I feel honored to have a class with Prof. Rutberg-she is so smart and I really admire her. People that bash her must not have an interest in Geology because she knows her stuff and it is really interesting. This isn't a cakewalk, you have to do the work and the class will be so much more interesting if you do.
Professor Rutberg, is very intelligent and knowledgeable in her field. However, this course isn't an easy A. You must read the textbook, and listen to her lecture in class to pass the course. She drops the lowest exam grades and there are weekly online quizzes that add up to another midterm grade. The final counts twice!
For some reason bad students always blame the professor for doing badly. Professor Rutberg is a fascinating interesting, intelligent lecturer. The course is not easy, no, but it's a science class in a liberal arts college. Of course it's going to be difficult! If you value learning this is definitely the professor to take. She's very very fair.
I hate this teacher. I work hard, visit during office hours, and even like the subject, but this teacher.... She constantly branches off into lectures about politics when her field is science, is nothing short of catty, and deliberately tries to trip students up with her online quizzes. She is neither friendly nor helpful. A total b***!
nice and wants u to do well but subject is soo boring. 4 tests. tests on lec and textbook so have to go to lec. can get a good grade if u study
I really don't understand all this hatred. She is very smart and knowledgeable about the topic. Actually, she made me fall in love with geology. I've never seen her yell at anyone, and she really didn't strike me as rude. The tests were straightforward, attendence isn't mandatory, really easy quizzes. Just study! You'll be fine.
So I've taken GEOL 101 and GEOL 180 (online) and she really doesn't deserve ANY of the bad things a few people have said. I'd say she is the most intelligent professor I've had. Good lectures and her responses are very helpful. She seems very passionate also which is a plus! Nothing bad about her. You'll learn alot!
ughhh!!! Don't take online course with her.She will ask tiny bid of information in some where in the book. She is helpful but she is tough. If you can take some one else.
I am not a native speaker. I took an online class in summer. You need to read the book by yourself.Keep post interesting things on blog.As long as you spend some time on reading the book, its an easy A.
This professor is really boring, and her class is not easy. I literally only went to the first class one exam and the last class, the rest i studied from book by myself, her homeworks are tough because she asked detailed questions, her exams aren't easy either, she has online exams, and the final was online as well. don't take her
I actually got along with her well enough that I respect her teaching method. She can be a bit shy and withdrawn, but if you visit her during her off hours she is actually very interesting to talk to. Plus, if you email her she can be very helpful. I think she would be better teaching smaller classes, but she does ok in lecture halls too.
I just finished her winter session online class, and I must admit it was very easy. As long as you read the book, you should be fine. I hate anything science related, and took this class to fill in for an elective to graduate early. She was readily available, and gave extra credit so long as you participated in the blog and discussion board.
this is a difficult class for entry level. rutberg covers very wide scope of information, talks on and on to the point that it becomes hard to pay attention. some classes were online which were BORING, exams were tough. you have to basically memorize the textbook, ..sit up front for lecture or her shouting into the mic will hurt your ears.
Her class is the definition of a college course. I got a A+, but it was definitely not easy to earn. You have to make sure you read the textbook and do the homework assignments carefully. If your a lazy person who likes teachers that spoon feeds you then don't bother taking her class. If you really want to learn this stuff then take her.
Just finished her class today. Very enthusiastic about what she does. You will have to read the textbook. At times material was difficult to understand but she always mentioned she was available. There are books you have to read which do tie in well with the course. I enjoyed the class even though the material could get very dense at times for some.
She is one of the best professors I've ever have.Extremely helpful and enthusiatic.Loved the class even though the material was not easy at all.
Most of this class was online (she's trying to "go-green" -_-). We did have a few (2-3) in class lectures but they were ALL boring! (The lab instructor for this class is way better). She gives online hw-quizzes. The answers are online or in the book (if you read). She gives 3 exams - 2 midterms & 1 final. The lowest midterm is dropped. GOOD LUCK!
Prof. Rutberg is extremely helpful, very passionate & knowledgable about her subject matter, crystal clear & is always kind enough to remind her students about upcoming deadlines & exams. Her class was very interesting, I learned a lot of useful information & am very glad I took her course. She is highly recommended just be ready to do the work. A+
Prof. Rutbeg is passionate about her work. I took this as an online course. 12 chapters, an assignment for each. After the system grades your assignment PRINT IT OUT WITH THE CORRECT ANSWERS!!! There is a final that is taken word for word from these assignments. As long as you read and do the work you'll be fine
I dislike Rutberg's personal and political asides. She has limited knowledge of practical geology, particularly mining, to which she seems hostile.
HORRIBLE idk were to start she gave an online blackbooard exam take home and when everyone got a 85-95% she was extremely pissed, she gave a f-ing pop midterm. Horrible professor i didnt learn anything i learned everthing from lab. is you take lab make sure you have Charuta Kulkarni awesome lab proffessor. take her class but shes horrible
HORRIBLE. Lectures were dry, exams were way too specific. I learned a lot more from my lab professor, I got an A in lab... I obviously got a low grade in lecture if my end grade was a C, smh. AVOID her at all costs.
I took the online oceanography. Don't fool around. If you read the textbook (emphasis on this), do the HWs, and participate in the discussion board, you'll do fine.
She loves geology but it's not reflected in how she teaches it. She reads straight from PowerPoints and doesn't even tell you what to expect on tests, whether it'll be material from the textbook, homework, or lecture. The exams didn't reflect the lecture, homework, or textbook which made them difficult.
Nice professor but the subject is not the most interesting. The lectures are basically a summary of the textbook readings of that week. YOU NEED TO READ THE TEXTBOOK IF YOU WANT TO PASS. She does give online extra credit.
There are two scheduled classes a week- one in-class and one virtual. We do not need to show up for virtual classes, but we are given online assignments to complete. Textbook is required since the assignments are based off of it. There are three exams and there are about 60 questions on each one. Iclickers and reef app needed for attendance.
There was a lot of hw assignments that were time consuming, but in the long run thats what saved my grade! The key to passing the tests is to study a lot of practice questions from the internet since she really doesn't give you any study material before hand.
She is very knowledgeable in the general geologic study. I attended every lecture and I found the class to be a cinch. Online assignments were not too difficult, as long as you read. Supplementary companion literature was a bit dumb, though. She gives good hints in class about what will be on exams and is happy to answer questions in length.
We have two scheduled classes are virtual and in class. online homework was not too difficult, as long as you read and it was 50% of your grade. DO THE HOMEWORK. You will pass the class .Three exams: two midterms ( drop lowest midterm) and one final. She posts power point on the blackboard.
She is knowledgeable and passionate, and finds very clear ways to explain difficult concepts. Very amazing class!
IDK why so many people complained about this prof. I mean, the lectures ARE boring and it's kind of hard to learn anything by just sitting in the class. However, if you read the textbook you will do just fine because her tests reflect the textbook 100%. You don't need to really go to the classes as long as you read. And there's extra credit hw
Hybrid Course meaning one hour and 15mins dedicated online and the other in class. Lectures are extremely long and boring and sometimes will not reflect on her test. However if you study the online material then you will be able to manage. DO THE HOMEWORK and you will be fine. 2 midterms, lowest grade dropped and a final. No papers.
Her lectures were a bore and often had a lot of excess information that never showed up on her tests. Virtual lectures were sometimes up to around an hour long and the discussion boards didn't do much but the homework questions made up most of the test. 2 tests throughout the term (lower is dropped) and one final. Just do and study the homework.
Thankfully, the class is set up so that tests are not the biggest chunk of the final grade. I did not expect this class to be a hybrid one (half online), but I managed to juggle the multiple weekly assignments and get by with a good grade even if my test results were poor. Would recommend only if youre good at organizing your time and doing hw.
Prof Rutberg is super knowledgeable in her field and generally a nice person- but she isn't a good teacher. She's a really hard grader and writes unnecessarily hard exams. The material alone is very challenging. Doesnt give too much hw. Reads off power point - taken straight from the textbook. MUST get text book and read the chapters weekly!
This was an easy class even though the lectures were kind of boring. The textbook is a great help for homework and exams.
Honestly a meh class, its really not that she's a bad professor, it just wasn't a good class and I can't really blame her for it. Its really minimal work and pretty easy, the lectures are supppeerrr content heavy and hard to pay attention to. Very little interaction and there were a bunch of problems with BB every time we had an exam, an ok class.
