Wonderful teacher. Willing to share positive experiences to help students understand children with disabilities.

I really enjoyed his class. He has such a gentle spirit and is a very understanding and patient teacher. I would love to take him again! I highly recommend his class. He is also not a hard teacher...but you do learn in his class.

Great teacher easy class

I admittedly only took this class because it was required and was not interested in the subject matter. That being said, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. He does require a lot of work but he is not a strict grader.

Dr. Seevers' experience as a special education teacher is very evident is in his lectures. He shares personal experiences, both good & bad, to help students better undertand the needs of special kids. The assignments he gives are relevant to the topic and are not busy work. I highly recomend Dr. Seevers for any SPED class you have to take at UHCL.

A very nice man, but a little obsessive about following his directions exactly, even though they can be misleading and contradictory. Still, a nice guy and an easy class.

Dr. Seevers is an outstanding professor. He is very kind and is very knowledgeable about his subject matter. His class was very interesting and useful. He has a wonderful personality and is the picture of what a professor should be.

Dr. Seevers is a fantastic professor! He can do a little topic jumping when lecturing but everything he tells you is good information. I really enjoyed my time with him.

I had Dr. Seevers his first year at UHCL (before 2000) and still remember him as one of the best professors I have ever had. I still use the things I learned from him every day that I teach!

His classes are full of so much useful information and he truly cares about the success of his students and is not out to make this class hard. He was great as a teacher. Some of the projects can be tedious but they're do-able and he grades easy.

He is a very well respected teacher. He gives a lot of assignments for this class. They're not hard just time consuming. If you do all of the works, then you'll probably get A or B in his class. HIS lectures are also Interested.

I learned a lot in this class through the discussions. Dr. Seevers is passionate about children with special needs and I left the class with tangible examples to help me when I teach. The test are straight from the book - so read it. The resource directory at the end was informative. The busy work with the Education labs was not fun. Take him!!!

Dr. Seevers in passionate about children with special needs and the class discussions focused on how to help them in your own class. The Resource Directory was informational and fun. I also like the Guiding Values project. The Education Lab was unnecessary busy work. Take Dr. Seevers, you will like him.

he is a passionate professor who, initially, seemed mean and hard to approach. But he surprised all of us with his leniancy on tests and assignments... We watched videos, and he really helped all of us get a better understanding of how students with disabilities and learning disorders can be included in general ed. classroom successfully. TAKE HIM!

GREAT TEACHER! he is so helpful and very nice. I wish I could have taken him for all my education classes. Some of the other teacehrs for education should come to his class and learn the correct to teach students to become effective teachers, instead of discouraging the students from becoming teachers.

Class is only offered during the may-mini. This class is all field work and is really fun and informative. Projects are manageable if you keep up with them.

Lots of work to keep up with but very do-able if you stay on top of it. Dr. Seevers is an excellent instructor.

Lots of assignments, but very helpful in gaining understanding. If you enjoy a challenge, this is the instructor for you. He definitely knows his stuff.

take him take him!!!! He is excellent! There is a lot of work but he is extremely helpful and really knows what he is talking about, you will actually learn a lot in this class! I loved going to class everyday, he will work with you and even cancelled some of our tests and replaced them with an easy project. He is very understanding.

He is a very caring and nice man. You can tell he truely cares about the subject. He was always willing to work with the students. If you have to take a SPED class, take him!

Dr. Seevers will give you some of THE hardest tests you will EVER take. But, in stark contrast to the hardness of the test, he grades VERY leniently! Good class, you will learn a lot in here.

Dr. Seevers is a great guy. He is willing to work with you if you are struggling with your work. I didn't do so well on his test, but he offers so many ways for students to make up those grades through projects that I made an A in his course regardless of the lower test scores. He does tend to go on, but soon enough he catches himself.

Super nice guy, helpful, "Mr. Smilely"!! He is compassionate about SPED & you will learn a lot from him. Enjoy!

He loves his work!!! THe projects are too much if you have more than one class. He has high expectatations but is willing to help as much as possible if you are haing a hard time. We had a group project where one didnt do the work and he was fair. He is fun and lively!!! You learn alot from him and his years of work.

Dr. S is so very very nice. He really loves SPED. He works with you and gives extra credit so that you can easily get an A if you just do the work. He tends to take a looong time to explain things and there is a lot of work, but otherwise he's great.

Dr. Seevers is really a sweet man! As much as he promises to not talk so much, he cant help but talk alot. He shows old videos, BUT the videos are really good! The work load is so so. I would recommend him.

He talks a lot and sometimes and can get boring but he is truly a great professor. There is a lot of work but it is easy to do. Keep up with your assignments and go to class and youll do great. I was very sick and in and out of the hospital and doctors during his class and he worked with me the entire time to help me stay caught up. He Truly cares!

Dr. Seevers is as kind as can be. Classes were usually fun/interesting. Heavier work load than most of my classes, though. Not hard work, just a little bit more. Tests were pretty easy. Enjoyed this class.

Great professor! Great energy and always happy! Does tend to speak a lot, but always has positive things to say. Work load is reasonable and do-able. Gives ample time to complete. He is passionate about his lessons.

Took class during summer 5 weeks received A. Didnt need book. Lessons and videos are interesting. Assignments are easy.

Professor Seevers. What can I say, this guy is amazing. He is the most patient man you will ever meet. Yes, his lectures sometimes go on and on (he loves to talk), but it's his passion for special education that is shining through. There were no tests, just a few projects (that do take some time). Do yourself a favor and take Professor Seevers!

He is a very nice professor but talks a lot. Time for assignments was cut short because he talked so much. He is very nice, though, and understanding if you need help.

Textbook: for reading or clarifications. Attendance: not mandatory, but highly recommended. Assignments: 10-15, plus 1 group project. Professor is very knowledgeable and passionate in his field. He loves telling stories & talking, but I personally loved the passion he brings. Very understanding & gives students some autonomy in their education.

The first day of class I was extremely worried because during the hr. class we only got to pg. 3 of our 27 pg. syllabus. Even though his lectures can be long at times his class is super easy, as long as you write your papers you will pass this class.

I absolutely LOVED Dr. Seevers! I took him Fall 2015 and I am so thankful that I did! He is truly passionate about his job and I hardly ever left class without crying good tears from being so moved! You will not regret taking him! He is the sweetest person and wants what is best for you. I would definitely take him again no questions asked!

If you've got questions - ask him! He's VERY passionate about what he does, who he's teaching, and especially SPED kids! He'll help with anything you need too. Make sure to do your checkpoints and make sure to study them/his notes for your tests. He's a great resource for everything, so ask him!

Mr. Seevers is a true gem! If you take his course you are in for a treat. He is one of the most caring professors I have ever taken. He loves educating future teachers on the importance of inclusion for all students. His course his clearly laid out and most assignments are not due until the last day of class. He leaves great feedback!

Professor Seevers was amazing! This was one of the only classes where I felt I could apply all that I had learned regardless of who I was teaching. He is an incredible teacher and the word "passionate" cannot begin to describe how this man feels about his career. He cares about his class and the subject being taught very much!

If you ask any student who is the best Prof. for SPED, hands downs Dr. Seevers is the best. Take him if you can (classes fill up quickly). Very nice, considerate and knowledgeable Prof. Loves to talk , yet listens to students feedback. Answer emails timely. Will work with you if you have assignment issues. Great guy.

Dr. Seevers is truly a caring and respectful professor. He is understanding of "life" situations and allows you to make up work--even past the due date. When you send him an email, he responds within 24 hours and has a genuine answer.

Do yourself a favor and take this class! Seevers is amazing- just do it! I literally made a 99 in this class!

Dr. Seevers is an amazing professor! Replies to student emails in less than 24 hours and gives great feedback! By far, the best class I have ever taken. Take his class, you will not regret it!

Feels overwhelming at the beginning but once you understand his ways it is easy. You do need a few hours a week to complete assignments but he is so understanding. Replies quickly and is willing to work with you. Fairly easy class.

Professor Seevers is AMAZING. He is so supportive, encouraging, and really wants you to succeed. You will not be disappointed!

Took his SPED4300 in 5 weeks, it was so easy. EVERY time no matter the time of day, I would turn in my assignment and it would be graded by the next time I got on BlackBoard or within the hour. EASY GRADER! But most of the work is for participation/attendance so you get 0 points but worth it.

I took Prof. Seevers' SPED 4300 last semester. it was in the middle of the peak of the pandemic. Everyone I know from my class, including myself, has learned a lot & made great grades at the end. Prof. Seevers would go above and beyond in supporting his students. He is very organized and caring, well respected by our class. Truly one of the best!

I LOVE this prof! Never heard a bad thing about him. Class is mostly participation, in the sense that if you turn everything in, you'll pass, likely with an A or A+. However, he does leave feedback on everything and it's genuine. You can tell he actually cares, and it shows. 100% recommend!

Dr. S was so helpful! I really recommend him. He is very organized and provides everything you need (articles, vocabulary, modules) to understand and complete your assignments. He is understanding with due dates and gives opportunity to make up any assignments. We need more professors like him!

He always responded to my emails very quickly as well as graded my assignments very fast. He will work with you if you need extra time on an assignment. He's very supportive and teaches a good online course.

Dr. Seevers is awesome. I am so glad I choose him for SPED. You do have group projects but they are easy. The modules are a bit of work but overall it is an easy class if you do your work. If you need help or extra time just email him, he responds quickly.

Dr. Seevers is great. He responds quickly to emails and his work is easy. Some modules do have a few assignments but they are easy. If you are looking for a good class that is easy take him, you wont regret it.

What dont I love about this Professor? Clear grading, responds literally before you reach out, and so friendly! I wish I could take Professor Seevers for the rest of my required credit courses. He always has a smile on his face and makes you feel like a great teacher/person with his compliments. He is flexible on turning in assignments and is an easy grader. He responds very quickly to emails, and you can hear the kindness in them! You are graded individually for the group assignment at the end of the semester.

If I could take professor Seevers for all of my courses I would. His blackboard is organized so neatly and due dates are in red so you know what it due each week. The work load isn't tough and he's a VERY easy grader, as long as you do the work and turn it in you'll get full credit. He also provides amazing and accurate feedback on all assignments.

The class was easy to navigate usually I finished all of his assignments in one day. He sets it out by weeks and you will have two group projects that you can complete within an hour at most depending on your group. He is really easy to get ahold of and answers fairly quickly. I didn't use the textbook a lot so I borrowed from the school.

Love Prof. Seevers! I would take him again if I could. He doesn't always give a lot of homework, but it's pretty easy when he does. He's accessible and replies within 24 hours to messages or emails. He is laid back and isn't a heavy grader.

Prof. Seevers was great! He was quick to respond back to emails/ texts. He grades within a few days and always gives feedback. He's an easy grader and his work load is nothing too crazy. He did require the textbook but mainly for small assignments. I really enjoyed his class and learned a lot!

put in the work & submit the assignment you will receive a 100 for any assignments. We had to do two test for his class he gave us full credit for it considering the test questions weren't based off what we studied on even so, he considered our concerns over the assignments and tests. I would take him again! He is very kind and responds to emails

I am torn because he is encouraging but doesn't TEACH. If you want an easy A, take him, but prepare to teach yourself. I felt like my work was always graded in 30 seconds and I put in so much effort just to get a "great job! here's your A". All of my group members got A's and some of them put in minimal effort on the same papers.
