A nice guy that tries to be helpful. I hate Algebra and think it's a waste of time for most. The course is too fast paced (not his fault)BCC cares that the material is written on the board, not that it's understood. If you're good at Math take him. If you're a slow learner, find another professor.
Easy going but too much of a wise guy. He thinks that you should know everything and does not expend the time to teach you. If you are good at Math and willing to take the time on your own take him if not find somebody else.
An awful experience. As with the above comments, he is hard to understand and teaches VERY quickly. To make matters worse he is dry and monotone, which adds to the overall confusion of the class. Avoid this class unless you know the material and can feel you can pass without the aid of a teacher.
He is a great teacher,and very motivational and he knows like everything,and you can ask him anything,he'll probably know the answer,very easygoing very fun teacher.

Horrible Teacher. Like the person below said, he is q wise guy. He thinks that you should come into the class knowing everything. Hes speeds through the material, and he does have an accent. I got a D in his class. Then I took it on the Summer for six weeks w/ another professor and got an A. I would not recommend this professor to anyone.
he is great :) he is really inspiring. he does work you out but is very cool about it. when they said he knows everything they are correct he has a story for everything. he knows all. anyways very cool teacher, laid back when it comes to work and tests. take him :)
Knowledgable and very helpful if you have questions. Grading was easy..mixes class work and physical workouts. Great teacher!

I like his method.He tests every other week and that ensures that the student reviews the materials constantly.This helps to avoid cumulative preparation for tests.I think it is unfair to judge him by accent.I failed the class the first time, though I was taught by an instructor without accent! With Randy, I passed it!
He's very HOT..that's about it...he speeds through the material and doesn't have class participation at all...he just thinks you know everything and brushes through it as though you not understanding is besides the fact. At least he's HOTTTTT..even though we are all failing the class because he only grades tests no homework collected which sucks!!
If you're serous about getting a degree, don't take this class. This guy sucks so bad, that even the smartest students in the class failed.
He is a nice guy and is very knowledgable in his field, the problem is his teaching style. I went to the lab regularly, but his test are just hard to understand. Our grades were based on two 10 question quizzes and a 15 question final. Needless to say a lot of us will be taking this class over next semester. Great guy, not so great teacher.

Arguably worst teacher I've had in my academic career.Lazy with problems.Doesn't finish them, then students finish them for him and he doesn't check to see if they're right. Obviously hates his job. Looks like he's gonna kill himself every class. Makes you feel like an idiot. I went to class every day and still had to drop it cause he doesnt teach.
This teacher has attitude if you ask questions. Feels you should already know the basic math before taking his class. If you have a hard time in math and need extra help he is not the teacher for you. Not very helpful or friendly.
He is the most knowledgeable teacher I have ever had. I would strongly recommend him. One of those teachers that really cares and wants to help. most of his classes are lectures and sometimes you work out.

Great Guy! Actually is in to what he does, unlike alot of teachers at BCC. Awesome lectures and the test is exactly what he lectures about. Easy class and you actually learn.
Great professor that really cares about his students. Great class with even easier exams. Take his class you won't be disappointed. He really knows his stuff and you actually learn about the things in life that are essential.
This has got 2 B the most awesome professor there is on this subject! There is no other professor like him (trust me). He has the ability 2 keep U motivated. He hates lazy people who don't try, but if U make an effort this class is surely a class 2 remember. If U R looking 2 get is shape; he is the man. A+
His notes are very detailed & clear!!! Mr. Smith doesn't have an attitude, he's just very sarcastic when you ask questions, but still gives you a very detailed response. Tips: write all the notes down and do your hw and you will pass!! I got an A on almost every exam and including the final. You will do very well as long as you study!!
For a man of his age, he is in great shape. If u r looking 2 get into shape this is your class. There is hardly any work required. There is mainly a mid-term & final, both are very easy if come 2 class & listen. He is truly one of the best professors at this campus. He cares about his students & u can count on him. Just be prepared 2 run & workout!
Worst teacher ever, he doesnt answer questions and gets mad when you continue to ask. He never explains anything, and just because hes great at math he assumes he can just write it all on the board and everyone will understand. Dont take him if you are not a perfect math student.
Very disorganized, and hard to understand. He has a strong accent and it was very hard for me to understand him. He also makes MANY mistakes when doing his calculations on the board, where fellow students have had to correct him.
I advice you don't take this teacher if you are bad in math, he assumes you know what he is teaching and just rushes through the material. hes a nice guy but hes class was really hard. I had to drop with more than half of the class

Mr. Smith became my best friend during the semester. Math is by far a weaker subject for me. this professor makes learning difficult material SWEET!
Very good teacher. Very helpful and very nice. His exams are easy and he always has a review right before the exam. Just show up to class and do what he asks and you will no doubt get an A. He really cares about the students and is one of the best professors I have had.
Mr. Smith is a wonderful professor.He goes above & beyond to make sure you understand the material.He's there before class & after class to help students who may need it. Prior to taking his class I had a FEAR of math because i failed at it so many other times.I just didnt "get it". Dr. Smith made it a reality for me.I loved the class! Take him!!!
This is quite honestly the best teacher I've ever had. He takes a special interest in his students, gives reviews before the tests, has special activities for students with limitations, and the assignments are mostly optional but for your own good. I would take him again if I hadn't graduated.

He is an ok professor. He teaches good but fast so you just have to be quick. His test seem to get easier as the semester continues, considering I studied the same before all. He doesn't give reviews at all but a take home test was helpful for a little boost. If you are really determined you should do fine.

Prof. Smith is very understanding and helpful. He is very involved in classes and encourages you to participate. There are no surprises on his exams. So do your homework, do your homework and you will be fine

I think Prof. Smith knows his stuff but he's very up tight. He never EVER answers emails, so don't bother. If you want to ask him questions, ask them after class. He doesn't like to be interrupted during his lessons even if it is because you don't understand what he's explaining but he does give plenty of chances to raise your grade.
Took him for MAC1033 as well..KNOWS HIS STUFF!! Gives a lot of notes but it's worth it. Lets you fix wrong problems on test to get extra credit (sometimes). Final review similar to one online. Works with you. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss a class you screw yourself up. I highly recommend him.
If i had to take this class again, i would take it with him, I got a c but I could had done better since he is really goood at explaining everything detail, i love the way he explains and i hate math but he made seem easy!!!!!!!!!!

Math isn't for everyone, but if you study and do your homework you'll do fine. He is Some what serious. No xtra credits. Tests are based on homework assignments. Ask a question and he'll help you. Other than that he is a great professor!
The best teacher I have ever had. Always prepared for class, never late. Knows his material 100% and explains it well. Always willing to help and explain. Prepares students for all the tests. Sometimes uses sense of humor to keep students interested! Highly recomended!!!

The man is great...just go to class, do your homework, and put in your best effort on the test and I guarantee you will pass, take this from someone who sucks at math...I took him for MAT1033 and MAC1105, I wish he was teach Statistic because I would take him for that. TAKE HIM!!!!!
At first he was OK but towards the last 2 weeks of class he disappeared for a week. Not a big deal during a regular term but for a summer term this was 1/5 of our classes. Also he actually forgot to teach us an important step in doing a matrix, only to shrug it off when confronted. He also gives no reviews for tests.
Horrible Professor. He rushes through everything, and gives no reviews. I tried my hardest and still failed. Trust me its him. He has no sympathy for his students. He puts the hardest problems possible on the test, and he sometimes puts problems that were never taught in class, or mentioned in the Home work. I think that he is a hermitt.
He's an okay teacher, but you will need to study on your own and/or use MathXL (good program) if you want an A. He goes kind of fast through material but is somewhat helpful if you ask him to explain something. Not the easiest class but if you're moving on to a uni you should really learn how to study and not ask for handouts from teachers

I just took this professor for MAT 1033 he is very laid back and helpful. He stays after class if you ask him for help. He also answers questions if you ask. If he is going too fast just let him know. Im taking him again for MAC1105.

He is alright. I enjoyed his jokes in class, which are dry but very nice. I struggle with math, and I'm not doing well; if you struggle, don't go with Professor Smith, but if you're good at math, then by all means take him. He doesn't review and his only grades are tests. He also doesn't really care what you do in class.
He is one of the best math profs i had. He knows his work and is quite timely. His exams are manageable, but he takes away points for simple stuff.

This prof. does not teach, he just offers examples in class of all the points in the syllabus. He assumes you know everything instead of TEACHING YOU.The tests have questions of things he shared in class,but he makes them harder.He does not like to be asked questions when you don't understand something. It is not going to be a "piece of cake" with this guy. Test scores are your only grades. He doesn't do extra credit or curves. However he is very good a explainig what you don't understantd. Ask questions, go to his office hours and practice, practice, practice.

This teacher is too lazy to give homework and quizes. He only gives tests because thats all he wants to grade. He does not believe in second chances. He will not curve your grade and he will not give you exrta credit. If you are in his class get a tutor that is not him.
Great instructor, he explains and answers all your questions. He gives suggested homework, but won't collect them. I got an A because I usually do all the homework. No boring Aleks or any online assignments.

There is also a online portion to the class that is pretty difficult... I had to retake the class with another teacher named Ruffin, Derrek.. got a B, strongly reccomend him :)
Professor Smith was okay. He isn't a great teacher for someone who needs extra time to catch on to math. Only take him if you have time to get an extra tutor or can learn from the book itself. He is a nice guy, humor is dry but sweet, just doesnt really explain things throughly.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS TRUST ME! I wish I had known about rate my professor before I took this class. He moves extremely fast and comes off insulting when a question is asked. I withdrew from his class because I was not about to settle for an F.

His class is super boring and the tests are very hard. He only grades based on tests so if you dont do good on them, you fail the class. Not a good class to take if math is your weakness!!

He's an ok professor. To pass the class you must review alot and practice if you want to pass the class. He gives you homework practice which isn't required but helps you greatly when you do the test. I am a nursing major and gotten an A, but this class does encourage alot of review at home to pass his class.

So I Took the 8 week MAC1033 course and if Math is not your suit do not take the accelerated course, this course is not for the faint of heart, this is an accelerated course, take the full semester course instead. This Professor talks fast and moves on quickly, because is an accelerated course. and ALEKS doesn't help either.
He won't give out assignments, do not listen to him about assignments on D2L. Like portal, the cake is a lie
Honestly, he is very kind so I feel bad for what I am about to say. He is a TERRIBLE teacher. He speaks very low and very quickly so it is so difficult to understand what he's saying. He is not good at explaining things at all. I would consider myself a pretty good student, and I honestly had no clue what was going on in this class most of the time
Took this class back in summer 2016. Attendance wasn't mandatory, teacher was really chill. He was a great professor, he made sure that he answered every question to the best of his ability. This class was pretty awesome. He's one of the best math professors at BC. Would definitely take him again.
Take this class if you already know the material and this will be a review. I took it online. Professor does want you to pass the class. Homework is 12% and it helps you study for the quizzes. 3 proctored quizzes (worth a total of 50%). Final (20%) He's not that hard.

JUST DON'T. He gets angry when you ask him a question. In the beginning, I understood what he was saying, but then as soon as the due date to drop his class left he just didn't care anymore. I emailed him countless times about missing tests because of the hurricanes and he never responded. He only has email as a communication and never responds.
This professor doesn't explain the work clearly and when you ask a question he makes you feel dumb. Some people learn by repetition, but he doesn't like to repeat himself.
Slept through most of it. Became my own professor and taught myself the material. Just do the homework and test reviews multiple times — you'll survive. Put in the work and you can more than pass with an A in the class as ALEKS helps a lot. If you lack the foundation for basic algebra then do not take him. A lot of the material wasn't new to me.
I took this class in session 4 so it progressed quickly. Besides that it was an easy class, you teach yourself pretty much everything using textbook, videos, and HW but compared to other online math classes its set up well. Has test reviews that are super helpful. Professor will also extended/open things if asked.
Be prepared to teach yourself the material, and stay on top of all the homework. He is very lament if you ask for extensions and need more time to complete stuff. His test can be difficult if you don't study before. He does give study guides that are exactly like the test which is very useful.
