First of all, TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! YOu will get tons of xtra credit and will always have enough points to boost your grade out of the whole and he even gives you a outline of what is going to be on the tests, so even if you dont go to class, just study the list that he gives you and you will easily pass with a B, He was very funny

All in all an interesting teacher. All lecture, make sure you do all of you course objectives!!! Before every test he gives you an outline. He is a little goofy, says little quips throughout the class, he is a funny guy. Take this class if you can its definitely one of the easier classes

Awesome professor even better than Mr. Greek but his exams are very tricky and long there are 100 questions(sheet of notes allowed). Randy is a great teacher.He is very easy going & is always available to help you out.Answers emails promptly, opens labs early & overall is always willing to help. He gives great reviews for what will be on test, he goes straight from the test that you will get. He can be a bit 'nerdy' with the bio humor but he makes me laugh. Take his class!

Offers the maximum amount of extra credit the science dpt allows. Does not curve any exams. The first exam i took i based my studying off of his notes big mistake. Steinkampf is a very soft spoken, funny guy. As with all bio classes, it is hard and you have to study if you want to pass. He makes it easier to get a good grade by giving creditno credit homework assignments and online practice modules. He provides you with the resources you will need to pass, it is just a matter of if you use them or not.

Would have not passed without all his extra help! Offers extra credit which really helps a lot! Defiantly the hardest class I have taken, but he will answer any questions you have. Steinkampf is a great professor. I would take him again for a different bio class. Very clea, understandable and he always tries to make you laugh! He relates examples to real life objects or materials to make you remember which helps a lot!

Steinkampf is helpful in lab, makes it clear on what will be on each test and gives extra credit which is great, but besides that his lectures are extremely boring and will put you to sleep, he cracks corny jokes that no one laughs at and there is absolutely no class interaction what so ever. If you read the chapters in the book you will pass easy.

Steinkampf is a terrible lecturer, and has hard tests, but is definitely a nice guy. He has the class setup where if you get a 60% average on the tests, you can still pass the class with a B with all the E.C and Homework. Show up, take your notes, do the Homework, Labs, and E.C, and you should be fine. He cares about you, if you show interest.

Despite his sometimes boring lectures that seem to go on forever, he is a great professor that is incredibly understanding. His reviews before test days will help you earn a good grade on his difficult exams. Attendance is mandatory as there are daily quizzes and ongoing labs and tries to keep things interesting by telling puns during lectures.

Professor Steinkampf gives his students every possible opportunity to succeed. Many extra credit opportunities and a "re-teach" after every exam to give you a chance to improve your score. He did thourough review and even held an off-campus review session the Sunday before every exam. If you don't pass, it's because you didn't put in the work.

I took his BIO1000 class as a 6 week summer course and while it was hard, Professor Steinkampf did everything he could for his students to succeed. I think most of the reviews on here are blaming him for the difficulty of the subject material which is beyond his control. If you're having a hard time, ask questions! He truly cares.

Randy is amazing!! He is so funny and although this class is very tough, he makes it much easier. He gives many points from pop quizzes, online homework, extra credit, and he even does reteaches after lecture exams. These all really help you stay on track and to not fall behind. He also has a study group available before the exams.

Biology is a tough course because there is so much information, but if you study you will do well. I took this class in the summer (very fast paced) and Im an average student. He's nice and definitely wants you to succeed. I'm glad I chose Randy for this class. He was extremely helpful and understanding. The class itself is known to be pretty hard but he made all the guidelines very straight forward. Before all tests he would set a day for people to meet him and ask any questions which helped me a lot.

Best professor if you struggle in science classes. After we went online due to COVID, he was extremely helpful and made a lab class online as close to the real thing that he could. He is very accommodating to students who struggle in his class or have disabilities. He allows you to drop one exam. You will need a lab manual and a connect card.

I'm not sure why Randy's rating is not a 5/5! Everything was moved online due to covid, so i was worried about how i would be able to understand the material most of the time. But Randy is great at lecturing and explaining things over Zoom. He also offers a LOT of extra credit which is always great. Take the class with him, you wont regret it!

Randy is a great professor! The only reason some give him a bad review is because you have to work really hard to get a good grade, as you would with any science related class. You have to read the chapters. Explains notes in lecture very well, lots of EC opportunities, and a overall great online course. You wont regret taking BIOL2710 with Randy.

This was one of the few courses that I've ever looked forward to attending each week. Randy's lectures are super entertaining yet clear and concise, and he's very engaging. The workload is not heavy, and the exams are simpler than the lectures. Extra credit is offered, and there's no cumulative final exam. Very sweet professor, 100% recommend!

I took him for bio 1000 and A&P. Both were hard content but he lets you ask as many questions as you want. He is super helpful in labs. Homework isnt too bad but studying is necessary. He was accessible outside of class and made sure to keep us up to date during the Covid switch online.

No complaints from me about Randy. Such a great person. Always helpful. The homework was MINIMAL. And the few times we had longer assignments he is a very easy grader. The exams were on the tougher side, as the lecture didnt exactly relate to the textbook, which is where the exam was mostly based. I was able to get a B on most of them. Great prof.

Professor Steinkampf is outstanding! His jokes always cracked me up:). Lectures are heavy in this class! In order to be successful on the unit lecture and lab exams, you have to dedicate time to review outside of class. Also, feel free to use the lab time. I loved his class. Very nice guy, with a dry but still enjoyable sense of humor. Assignments were easy and he graded generously. His field trips and labs were probably the highlight of my time at Macomb. I was able to get an A without reading the book or putting in very much extra time. 10/10 teacher and class.
