Don't forget Tommy Hilfiger; didn't learn a damn thing, but Stringer is sweet!
Test questions are many times shady, but its hard not to like the guy.

Attending his classes are a delight, whether you enjoy the material or not. He makes class fun and engaging. He is a very supportive, empathetic, helpful professor.
A great professor and an integral member of our intramural bowling team. Happy to have had him as a professor and thrilled to call him teammate. Get to know this guy.
Smug, pompous attitude is very abrasive and disturbing, especially while he criticizes the evil liberal (i.e: teaches anywhere but a Christian school) professors for their arrogance. Pop culture refs are overdone and EXTREMELY annoying.

When teaching about becoming a minister, he stressed money over everything else. How to get the highest salary and how not to get fired. He's too slick.
It's kind of scary when a religion professor and a minister knows more pop culture than his students, at least to speak for myself. His jokes are neither relevent nor funny. His knowledge of the Bible is mediocre, and he is pompous and distasteful.
can be real dick to you personally ... but i enjoyed his poking fun at groups and people in general. should take him. some of the people on here cry too much.
i could not stand this man. how could a religion prof be so cruel to people? the entire female population of our class almost walked out one day because of his chauvinistic jokes . do yourself a favor and take someone else.

Great Proffesor!! He has been very helpful to me and always is encouraging and uplifting. Teaches life lessons instead of just more head knowledge. His sence of humor is amazing...don't graduate without having had him.
Great professor. Gotta love his sense of humor and stories in classes. Would take his courses just to have him. Hard tests though, very detailed.
Very Funny!
I would recommend to avoid him, he's a funny guy and you can definitely stay awake in his classes. However,Tests are very poorly made up, He actually tested us off the syllabus! He comes across as fake & puts the minimal time into the class and grading.
If you like trivial pursuit, you'll love his final. Class is fun, and if you want an easy grade and dont care about coherent lessons, then Stringer is for you.

He's a pretty easy grader. My boyfriend was an Atheist and was in the hospital the night before the final and still got an A on his final.
Unfortunately took him for an intersession and class right in a row. Left class angry at the waste of time, even upset that others were listening to his irrational argument. Found him to be pompous, and avoided other classes with him.
I did well in his class, but learned nothing whatsoever. Several people in class were playing counterstrike durring class,they missed nothing. Fairly funny, but he puts about 3 minutes of prep into class. Belongs at a community college. waste of time
Easy class. Relaxing atmosphere. Very funny guy. However, you won't learn much off of Stringer.
Should be fired. Spent first half of semester on 5% of material. Could have learned more by watching discovery channel for 5 min than whole semester with him. He needs to start putting some time into prep and have coherent tests, or leave the school.
He's a horrible teacher... doesn't put any time into preparation, doesn't respond to e-mails, doesn't care about what you have to say... avoid him at all cost!

I was interested in the class material, but I actually feel more stupid after having taken his class. A total waste of time. Honestly the worst professor I have ever had.
You all who complain about Dr. Stringer are over-achieving grovers who love academic pain. He is an easy grader and he loves a good conversation/debate in class. Don't you know what's what he WANTS, someone to argue with him? You all suck and are judgmental. Take Dr. Stringer if you like an A.

this guy teaches the easiest class ive ever had. he has 2 tests, and quizes once a week. all i do is read the class notes and dont bother read for quizes. he gave us every question that will be on the midterm, how easy is that???(that was the first test) Class is very entertaining to say the least.
He is an easy professor. He is entertaining. His test are weird but you will ge good grades on them. I did learn stuff in his class altough not as much as i thought I would. Overall a really understanding nice guy.
everyone who dislikes rev. stringer has obviously become one of the boring clones that this college attempts to create annually. while it's true that his tests are like trivial pursuit, he actually understands life and conveys that through his classes. put the grovers elsewhere; give me stringer.

wow. I've never had or heard of such an underqualified professor in my life--it was really bad. Yes, you can get an incredibly easy A in his class, but at the cost of your own intelligence. DON'T TAKE STRINGER.
Did he find his taching qualifications in a CrackerJack box? How about preparing and planning class for a change. This is the kind of professor who would need to get cliff notes for himself. If you crack a book you have done more work in the class than he has.

The String dog is the man if you like funny and relevant storries in class. He is really funny and is a good teacher. If you didnt like him, you probably like doing molec bio for fun in your spare time. He makes the class interesting. Good guy, ill take him as often as I can.
Stringer is the man. I loved taking him for both Civilization and Biblical Revelation. I'll take him as much as possible, because he is definitely the best prof. for any HUMA course. He is extremely fair and interesting. The hour and 15 flew by every time. Great guy.
What a complete waste of time that class was! People who care about their education should not take him. He's good if you just want an easy class in which you learn absolutely nothing, but still get credit for it.
Ok, this is my third class with string-dog, and I have to say - how can you not love him? He's funny, entertaining, nice, understandable, and most importantly, EASY! Take him - you'll get good grades, have fun, and learn in the process. Everyone who says otherwise is the typical Grover who sees education only for learning and not also enjoyment?

Great lecturer! Class flew by all the time. His tests can be a little random, but he gives you back lots of points. Gives you transparencies, so you know exactly know what notes to take. Good class even if you are not a bible scholar.

I was really looking forward to taking this class, but was deeply disappointed when classes actually started. He can't lecture, he doesn't make sense, his tests are illogical and unfair. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES IF THERE IS ANY WAY THAT YOU CAN AVOID THEM
Awful. Neither intellectually or spiritually engaging. He gives you a spark notes version of the Bible with while making fun of Muslims, Mormons, and Pop-Culture Icons. He dismisses serious challenges to Christianity, such as Evolution, not by utilizing reason or scripture, instead he merely makes a joke.
I was looking forward to this class but am really disappointed. I know it's only been a week of classes, but he has yet to prove that he can teach a class. Jokes are fine sometimes, but he just takes things too far. I'd like to learn something.
I think he is really great! He is really interesting and has had a lot of experience to share. He is quite understanding and will work with you if you have a problem. I had him for an internship over the summer and now i have him for class and he really cares!
Wow, where do I begin? Didn't learn anything, had to argue for legit points back on tests (which was pretty hard on the final, good luck with that), and whenever he started a story with, "He said to me, Brotha Stringer ..." you knew nothing but B.S. was coming out of his mouth. DO NOT TAKE. Intelligence will be put at risk!!
Stringer's class is my least favorite. His slides are a bunch of random points and I don't feel like I can trust anything he says. His little stories are not only improbable but foolish and embarrassing as well. If you have any respect for yourslef, and value the money you're spending on college, DON'T take his classes!

His class is very entertaining, and quite easy, BUT IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME/MONEY. YOU LEARN VERY LITTLE.

My most disappointing experiences at GCC have been in Stringer's classroom. Most of his stories (which occur after every useless point on his endless overheads) are plagiarized from the internet. A friend and I spent one class period googling everything that he started with "this one time, a man came up to me..." and found all the stories online
Stringer has no knowledge of history, which really shows in a civilizations class. His pointless stories during lectures just fill time he doesn't know how to use because he has no clue what he's talking about. He is very easy, but only because he gives you lots of points back on his incomprehensible test questions.
2 words discribe this man as a teacher... HA HA... You have to be kidding me where did he get his degree. He is a complete moron and his class was a complete waste of time but your sure to get out with a B because if he give back like a 100 points in question for every test... It was a joke of a class and i learned nothing.

All his stories are useless. Also tries to make jokes all the time, but doesn't realize that no one is laughing but him. Extremely obnoxious. Don't really learn much also.
Terribly disappointing class. The man is incredibly entertaining, but the laughter is normally at his expense. On tests, fill up all space given for essays, and you'll get at least a 9/10. Don't spend too much time on the papers... not worth it. Keep a list off all the jobs he claims to have had; you'll be amazed. Stringer is pretty sketchy.
i took his class last semester adn it was an easy A class. if there was dr.schafer, i didnt take stringer's class. anyway, the class was easy. but the quizz was kinda annyoing. EASY A CLASS. take him, learn little bit, but get A
I never learned anything from his class. He seems to have a few too many stories for them all to be true...He's not as obnoxious as most people seem to think, but he isn't a very good teacher. He should have been one of those story tellers at colonial fairs.
Dr. Stringer tells more stories than he teaches, and the stories didn't relate. He often sent us the notes we didn't get through in class a day later. He's cut out to be a pastor, not a professor.

does not seem very educated and very bigoted. One thing I did learn in his class is that: Children have disabilities as punishment for their ancestors sins.
He kept class interesting and amusing. Quizzes and tests were relatively simple, as long as you studied well. The only problem I encountered was when he would email you the notes from class that he didn't go over. The notes were vague unless he went over them. Good class.
Great professor. His jokes get old, but he is pretty funny. He's really easy- tends to give free points, and is very reasonable in his instructions and understanding (He's one of those people who knows that his class isn't your only class)
You never know what is going on in this class. He tells unrelated stories, and can never get through any of the material he is supposed to. He doesn't test over the material he tells you he is going to. Take a different professor if you can!
I'm pretty sure Dr. Stringer has worked every job possible & he loves to tell (ahem, make-up) stories about them. Lectures are boring and overloaded w/ irrelevent info. He's a nice guy though & if you've read the Bible at all you'll pass this class. He's generous in points & has tons of opportunities for extra credit. I'd take a class w/ him again.
This guy is very hard to take seriously. He's like a TV preacher who never made it. Take him if you want to be entertained. If I was a demon i'd harass this guy all the time because he's so full of it and so funny. Another fine example of what GCC has to offer. Fabulous dresser. Christian thought majors hate him.

Brother Stringer is a professor who becomes your friend. He has incredible insight on life and great wisdom in ministry.
Dr. Stringer was fab. I've spent the last 16 years learning most of the material covered in this course, so it wasn't hard for me. What I really appreciated though was his insight about human nature. Sure, he's can be a bit silly, but damned if he doesn't observe and observe accurately the nuances and cultural peculiarities of our common lot. Love!
The stinger is a great guy....hilarious and very thoughtful when he chooses to be His lectures are filled with random stories, so the amount of actual lecturing is kind of low. Easy class though.
Brother Stringer is eccentric to say the least. His unfunny one liners and tall tales leave one wishing to be anywhere except in his class. He likes to wave his "degrees" around a lot and is very biased. Lectures are not structured or ordered and rabbit trail stories are quite common. Mediocre professor but an easy class.

He genuinely cares about his students. Very in tune with the Lord and knows what he's talking about - have learned a lot! Several papers, and small books to read but no super large expensive textbooks
Lectures are very boring and filled with more jokes and stories than actual information pertaining to the class. He tells you exact test questions before the test which seems nice, except when you get the test the next class the questions are usually different than what he told you. Overall a very frustrating course, take a different professor.
If you love hearing comments like "lol yo yo yo how did David have so many wives, doesn't he know all women do is use your credit card?", then this is the class for you. He thinks he's hilarious but he is really a dirty old man. HR would be so on his ass if he worked anywhere besides an ultra-conservative Christian school.
