Very good at speaking to class. As far as one on one... not so much. You must be able to use blackboard onece a week AT LEAST. I would recommend.

Class was really interesting and fun! She was a blast!

I would recommend Dr. Dutta to anyone. She is very helpful and really cares if her students are learning or not. She gives relevant examples and lets students know about things going on around campus that are relative to their majors.

If you know and like Psychology, she is a very good teacher to have. Classes are really interesting.

Very nice lady. Class if easy if you study for exams and go to class since she gives assignments. If you don't like presenting this might not be the class for you because you do have to give a presentation that is worth roughly 1/10 of your grade.

Dr. Dutta is awesome! You have to do the work and study to get an A, but it's not real time consuming. She is great with technology, and is very helpful, and easy to talk to. If you get a chance, take her!

Pretty easy class, but she wastes a lot of time. A lot of times we won't actually start class until 15 min. late. The powerpoint notes do not help at all. She doesn't talk about what they say but goes off on little tangents.

Good teacher! I actually learned a lot from her class. I'm not one to present, but as long as you have a group that you are comfortable with you will be fine.

Very nice teacher. She is definatly intersted in her subject and gets excited about the information. Overall it is a pretty easy class, if you have taken other psych classes.

Good teacher. Gives real life examples. Make sure to come to every class because she gives points for that. Also, make sure to print off the answers of the quizes on BB because that is your SG for the tests. Group presentations with 2-3 people, not the best. She gives you Extra Credit.

Great Teacher! Gives out extra credit. As long as yo study you'll do fine in the class. Highly recommend to go www.prenhall.com/kail and use the chapters study guides on there. Just like the tests. Some are even the same question. Very Very Helpfull!

One of the best profs I've ever had. She knows so much, and is really enthusiastic about teaching. Provides copies of PowerPoint that she uses for her lectures. BlackBoard quizzes and message boards are a good way to get free points. I highly recommend her!!!

great teacher

She's a great teacher, really knows her stuff. She gives extra credit a couple times throughout the semester. You also have to do an oral presentation which is a lot of work and not fun but the class overall is easy. Use the quizzes and SG's on BB and you'll do fine!

AWESOME class, awesome teacher! Loved the class and how the prof presented material. Very easy to earn an A, just study what she tells you to in class. Lots of xtra credit opportunites!

Dr. Dutta is an awesome prof! She gives excellent study guides has BB quizzes to help with tests and easy x-tra credit. A must take! Wished she offered more classes! Don't be freaked out on presentation, worth 50 pts. but not as difficult as you think.

i liked the topic, but not the class. didnt like the method taught with - wanted more lecture not questioning. u have to READ the book! blah... 4 tests are hard, but all mult. choice w/noncumulative final. not much ex. cr. GO TO EVERY CLASS! remember to take online quizzes and do hw!

She was a really nice person and loved teaching you could tell.. The only downfall about this class is that he tests are hard. I studied for them and I always ended up with like C averages.. not everything on the tests are on the powerpoints.. so make sure you read the book as well!

She's a great teacher and knows what she's talking about. She never makes you feel dumb and is always willing to clarify if you don't understand. Easiest part were the quizes and the tests, you just have to study, nothing to hard. Love her and would love to take more of her classes, highly recommended.

very very nice... I like when she talks about her family(she has twins) She gives u power points to print out and it helps loads.. Almost all quizes are at home.... But when it comes test time STUDY... She gives u lots of items to use to study.... it's up 2 you to use them.

Tests are really easy and she has online quizzes that are also easy points. The paper she makes you do is kinda stupid but not too hard. Worth taking.

Great instructor, her stories make lecture very interesting. Very fair grader - when things on test aren't clear and she agrees - then she may give you extra points.

Dr. Dutta is the sweetest professor at SVSU. She cares about her students, is passionate about the course material, and loves to talk about her twins! =) She is very approachable and down to earth!!! I highly recommend her!!!!

I really enjoyed her class. At times lecture would get a little boring, but she would always tell funny stories to help you remember something. Very nice and helpful. Don't be afraid to talk to her, she's very friendly.

I had Professor Dutta for child psyc. She knows so much and can tell you things for her everyday life, which makes the class very interesting. I was mildly interested in psyc when entering but now I love it. She does exspect you to be there every class, she loves class discussions, and her tests are easy if you study. One of my favorites here. :)

Professor Dutta is one of the best psych professors at svsu, if you get a chance to take her do it, she cares about her students and sure knows her stuff. great professor, if you get a chance to take her and miss out it's your fault, you'll love her.

I learned so much in this class. Its a decent amount of work but if you go to class and do the assignments it is pretty easy. Her examples are very helpful. Loved the class.

Great professor, knows what she is talking about and uses videos and personal experience to explain things so you understand. Pay attention in class and take some notes and you are set.

this was my favroite class this semster she makes psy intersting with her personal examples and videos. u only need the book wen takin the online quiz's which there is one for every chapter. she adds 4 extra credit points for each test there are no exact questions so thats a plus! there are 4 exams and few outter class extra credit chances !

Very good teacher, loved how she teaches the class. Online quizs every week, but they are easy points.. Explains things well, No study guide but she will make clear what you need to know if in mass email. Pass all her test and quizzes and you'll be fine

Ranjana is great! She is one of my favorite professors that I have taken because she understands what works when teaching students. The class has a lot of discussions, and she gives great notes and examples. Sometimes she talks too much about how to succeed in college, but she is right. Very clever, and cares a lot.

Awesome class! She was interesting and funny and it was easy to learn. Book is just as helpful and if you put the effort in it shows in your grades.

Professor Dutta genuinely cares about her students and it definitely shows. Her lectures are very long, but the material is very common sense and exams are an easy A as long as you review PowerPoint slides. Weekly Vspace quizzes are very helpful for exam review and they help your grade. I enjoyed Professor Dutta and would definitely take her again.

I loved child psychology with Dr. Dutta. She is very smart and will tell stories to help you learn the material. The book is essential it is the only textbook I have fully read in college. There are a lot of easy points it is almost impossible to not get an A.

Great professor! I would definatley take her again. Only three tests, including the final, very straight forward from her powerpoints. Makes lectures very interesting. Lots of online quizzes but they help so much with the tests and aren't very hard. She's very understanding and funny.

I would definitely recommend this professor and this class. I was a sophomore still trying to get by without reading the book and this class helped me learn that its necessary. Lots of small quizzes. She is very understanding, I forgot to turn in an assignment and she let me turn it in late for full credit. You need the book with the revel codes.

Dutta is hilarious and inspirational. She clearly is passionate about teaching and loves to help. This specific class includes lots of online quizzes (so they are open note) and one short group paper. The exams are multiple choice. Lectures are usually fun and interactive. Very easy if you pay attention.

Ranjana is fantastic. Her lectures are very informative and interesting to listen to. She has extensive knowledge about psychology and is very helpful with answering questions. Tests are quite straightforward. She is a wonderful professor and I would definitely take a class taught by her again.

Professor Dutta expects a lot out of her students. She is very knowledge able and offers many different things other than just exams to help your grade. She knows her stuff, but if you don't retain information easily studying for her tests will take lots of your time. Reading the textbook is a must. But overall a good professor!

She is a great professor. A lot of online assignments but they are easy and help you understand. I liked them because they were easy ways to get your grade up. Her lectures were good and not boring. She also offers extra credit. I really enjoyed the class and would take her again.

She cares about her students' success and tries to ensure that all topics are understood by everyone. She is very open to questions and willing to help. The lectures were fairly interesting given the topics. Examples are almost always given to ensure clarity. Tests weren't too specific, but did require effort.

I really enjoyed Psyc 210 with Dutta. The class has a lot of information to process with seemingly long lectures, but she breaks them up with videos and activities. However, it was sometimes hard to follow what to do for the class because there were so many extras to do, but as long as you stay on top of things this class will be fine.

Awesome professor! You have to read every chapter, you won't do well on the tests if you don't. There is a quiz for each chapter and random case studies, but those and tests are it. That is your grade. She offers some extra credit. Sit in the front, she will love ya for it. Definitely recommend participating in class, I got extra credit just for it

Amazing professor! Would take her again 100 times over. She gives very engaging lectures that are low key inspirational. Be ready to read all the chapters or you will not do very well on the exams. Set a new standard for a professor.

Purchasing the textbook and access code are a must, you have to read. I found Professor Dutta's test to be very essay. She also has many ways to earn extra credit but they do require a bit of time. Group projects were no big deal as long as you all do your part and we had 3 during the semester. Great professor she genuinely cares about students

Dutta is a great professor. She engages with the students. She updates students often and about whats coming up and what to expect. She uses stories and example to give stundents a better understanding.

Loved this class. Dr. Dutta is an amazing professor. You MUST read the book if you plan to pass. She expects students to have already read the material BEFORE coming into class, so the lecture will refer heavily back on the text. The tests truly cover every single piece of material that was covered in class so be prepared. Very approachable

Ranjana is a great professor overall. She really cares about her students and shows this by always checking on our mental health. She never lets out early so be prepared to sit through an entire lecture. She gives frequent breaks though which is nice. You will do good if you try. Take advantage of her office hours!!!

I absolutely loved this class and Dr. Dutta. She made sure everyone understood the concepts and was always available if you needed extra help. The class is asynchronous excluding the exams. It was nice to finish things on my own time and the exams were always very easy. Great class.

Prof. Dutta is amazing! She really cares about her students and gives so many opportunities for EC. Each exam had 3-4 points worth of EC, and some assignments too. Her lecture slides cover almost everything, so I never studied from my book. Be prepared to have a lot to study though - no study guides. But her exams are fine if you know the concepts!

I absolutely love Dr. Dutta. Took her for 210 and now for 380 and she's still just as great. Offers extra credit on all assignments if you work with a partner, has extra points on her quizzes, and even made our semester project extra credit instead of a true grade. She's very passionate about what she teaches and cares deeply about her students!

Dr. Dutta is one of my favorite professors in the psych department because you can tell she truly loves her work. She cares about all of her students and will go to the end of the earth to help them succeed if they put in the effort. She is fair with her grades and always accessible when needed. Overall she was a very good professor. She was always willing to help and gave good advice but you have to reach out to her yourself. The class isn't too difficult there is just a lot of reading and notes. There is no cumulative final just 4(online in-person) tests. The tests are not too hard if you really put in the time to study.

Dutta is such a caring person and you can tell she's really smart. She truly cares about her students and will take the time to get to know you. If enough of us requested a day off she would cancel class. If you participate you will have more fun. She posts recorded lectures that are super helpful.
