The reason why I took this professor was because there was no other choice. I had a positive mind when I started the class. The lectures are not too bad but the Lab sessions is complicated. He has three tests multiple choice. I would say not too much math problems which was helpful. Mainly important bolded information. No study guide provided.

Professor Berger was a good professor. He explained the topics of the book well that reading wasn't really needed. Also because class changed to online, we didn't have zoom meetings; he just recorded his lectures, so it was accessible anytime and done at our own pace. The labs were just answering simple questions and the book helps with that.

Professor Berger's class is composed of zoom lectures (powerpoints) and he does take attendance via zoom. Grade is composed of weekly labs(easy) which you post as a discussion post, three exams (100 points each), and the last exam serves as the final, but is not cumulative, lab project (easy), and attendance. Straight forward professor.

Took this professor during covid for 424/424L. 3 tests which were very difficult. He doesn't go over what is going to be on the test and no study guide. Tests are based on mostly terms which can be found in the book so you have to read and take notes off the book. Weekly discussion which are doable. Not a lot of homework. Not the best professor.

Skip class? You won't pass.

You have to read the book and take good notes. His lectures are clear but if you don't understand something he is always available outside of class hours. Read the book, do all discussion posts, and you will pass his class.

Professor Berger is literally the best professor at CSUN. I truly enjoyed his lecture and lab. The class consists of 5 test & drops lowest score throughout the semester and a small paper. Listen to the power points or you can just read the book he provides. He is very well educated and knows what he is talking about with everything 10/10 recommend

Cjs 280 - He is not a good professor most of the time you have to teach yourself, a couple of test throughout the semester and a project for the final. The test would really bring you down if you did bad on them so you really had to study there is no study guide. He is a good person overal

LOVED his class! In my graduate program, I still miss him and wish I could've taken a class with him again. He gives you a super summarized version of the texbook which is so helpful and easy to read. As long as you read that, the tests will be super easy. Easy grader on the final paper too. Absolutely loved him!!!

Took for CJS 326: Victimology. Only bases classes of 4 tests, 25 multiple choice questions. He is so knowledgable about careers and what he is teaching. Lectures were so interesting and class was pretty easy. Genuinly such a good professor, actually learned in this class. My favorite professor yet!

I am by no means a math person, but professor Berger actually helped me understand Statistics. Attendance for both the lecture and lab is mandatory. Definitely lecture heavy since that is when you learn the new chapters. 3 tests, and 1 project. Definitely recommend professor Berger.

Professor Berger is truly an incredible teacher. The course is graded on 3 exams and in-class writings. These written assignments are brief and very easy to complete. The tests can be a bit tricky but you'll be fine as long as you study your notes and the textbook. I would highly recommend this course, it is very engaging.

Prof. Berger is very chill and knowledgeable. His lectures are based on PowerPoints; he explains thoroughly, so take notes. There are five quizzes and the lowest score is dropped. Every class has a short writing assignment that counts for your attendance.

One of my favorite classes I've taken in the Sociology department (SOC305 Culture + Personality). The way prof teaches is so engaging and he opens discussions a lot during lecture. Gave many examples that helps u grasp the material better. Super kind + approachable. Drops lowest quiz out of 5. Attendance is important as you do a writing each class.

He explains in great detail. He is pretty chill, however the reason I pass was because he grades for attendance. Try to make it all the time because the attendance grade will save your beehive . I failed all my test, but that attendance is what made me pass.

Attendance is absolutely mandatory. As long as you consistently attend and take down lecture notes (he does not share/post slides) you will pass! Project assigned is half data collection (simple) and the 2nd part is turning in 3 graphs with explanations. Don't think about trying to cheat! I witnessed 2 people get kicked out in the person tests.
