Love her! She is one of my favourite profs. She encourages participation but if a student doesn't want to talk, she doesn't force you. She's so sweet, funny & passionate about psych. Extremely helpful and easy to talk to. Uses printable slides and wants us to take notes for ultimate understanding. Definitely recommend her to everyone! She rocks.
Best professor. So passionate and creates a great environment.
BEST PROF EVER! You actually learn something in her class and it's not just a boring power point slide. She adds life to it. And her class/tests are super easy I got an A- hardly tried.
she's very passionate about what she teaches, very funny lady too. can approach her at any time of the day and she will try her best to help you. posts potential written exam questions ahead of time, and the APA report will really boost your grade as long as you follow the guidelines. would DEFINATELY take another course with her in the future.
Funny and smart,I like her a lot.You want to be her relative or something, just to have her in your life. Also what you learn stays with you forever.
Raquel is a great woman, with a bubbly and cute personality. She really wants her students to succeed. Know her powerpoints, memorize her hand written notes, and read the textbook. This is the ONLY class I actually read the textbook, and that is how you get 90+ % in the course. Great class, great teacher.
My favourite prof of them all! Very intellectual woman. Knows her stuff - very organized - wants her students to succeed - cares alot about her students succeeding - extremely helpful teacher - very fun, bubbly, enthusiastic personality. Highly recommend taking her psychology courses!
Great person, very funny. Makes class interesting and is very clear and helpful, but has a tendency to spoon feed everyone and it can be annoying.
Instructor is very enthusiastic about the subject itself & most of the time presents materials outside of the textbook to enhance the class's learning experience. Test are quite straight forward, you will do well if you had put in effort into studying for it.
She is very enthusiastic and passionate, always brings in books that she has been reading to share, and she has separate notes to handout or have you write out, which are quite helpful. the exams are like most general exams, around 70-90 MC and a written question that she gives you the topic well in advance.
Best Professor at Douglas.
Best teacher I have ever had! Made class interesting, never a dull moment. If you study and pay attention, you'll do great. I HIGHLY recommend!
Absolute best teacher at douglas. I am so happy I had her in my first semester. She really set me up well for my education in psychology. Never had a teacher so dedicated & so thorough in her explanations. She truly just wants you to do good!
Absolutely loved her as a prof, very entertaining in class and she truly loves what she is talking about. Her notes are what are said in class, don't really need to make your own. Highly suggest her as a prof!
Amazing Prof. She is very funny and entertaining. Posts her power points online and grades. Tests are multiple choice with short answer given to you before. Marks essay really easy, I wrote it the night before it was do and got 97. Favorite prof I've had!
I loooove Dr C. she is honestly one of the best proffs at douglas college. she has so much passion for psych, she is super clear and helpful. I would recommend her to anybody!
Absolutely unreal learning experience. Cultural psych will open your mind!
BY FAR THE BEST PROF EVER! She adjusts to everyone's learning style. She makes dry chapters so interesting. Shows example after example, which helps you really understand! So approachable and really wants you to grasp each concept! No Final! Shes hilarious and such an amazing women and her passion for psych makes you passionate! LOVED HER!
Best psychology professor! A little bit unorganized the way she present the materials to students. Although she gives a bit more information, her tests are strictly from the textbook so you must read it! Her tests are pretty straight forward.
Such an amazing professor!! Extremely passionate about her class, very friendly, always happy and bubbly! There is no midterm or final, just exams for every two chapters and you HAVE to read the textbook. I am 100% taking psych 1200 with her because she makes it so interesting and an overall great learning experience. Easy to get a good mark too.
Dr. C is the best prof I have ever had at Douglas. She is hilarious, has a great sense of humour, never has a final exam, and her tests are usually only multiple choice. Super easy and GPA booster classes. Love her so much! BEST PROF EVER
Literally the best professor I have had at douglas, she is so up beat and funny. I enjoyed going to her class every week, the work load is not bad and the tests are easy to study for. LOVE HER
Dr. Chapdelaine is an amazing instructor! Her class is very interesting and she has a great sense of humour. She encourages students to be open and it makes everyone comfortable. She posts marks very quickly, and the tests are mostly multiple choice. I wish I could take this class over again! SO much fun.
I LOVE DR.C. BEST PROF EVER. LOVED HER CLASS, GOING TO TAKE PYSCH 1200 WITH HER NEXT SEMESTER, I WISH SHE TAUGHT MORE CLASSES, DEFIANTLY RECOMMEND HER AS A TEACHER. Only thing is that class is a long class, so be prepared to sit through lectures, you cover one chapter per class, but its okay she plays videos in class and is super funny. LOVE HER
Love this woman! she makes the class interesting with videos and gives clear explanations to help you understand and remember. She tells lots of funny, great stories, and such a pleasure to be around. She wants you to do well and remains professional and happy! Will def be taking her next semester. Her tests are fair & great lecture slides
She's amazing! She's funny, clear, and helpful! Her lectures are straight to the point and she uses videos and songs to help you remember things. She's well organized and focuses well on each chapter. Her tests are easy if you do the online quizzes. You barely need to study if you pay attention in class. Her notes are great!
Tells interesting but related stories during class, which works as examples too sometimes, and this makes her class very entertaining and at the same time easy to understand.
Praying I am able to have Raquel as a prof again in the future! AMAZING lectures and so helpful. Love love love her.
Absolutely the BEST prof at Douglas. So funny and truly cares about her students. Highly recommend taking any psych course with her because she teaches the course so well. You will not be disappointed or will not regret taking this class or any class with her!
Absolutely LOVE her!
love her!
I can't recommend taking Raquel's class enough. Her lectures focused on the key topics and were fun to listen to. As long as you read the book and do a little bit of review, her exams are fairly easy. Her assignments are meant to allow you to succeed while still learning effectively. No regrets taking her class!
I'm a second year student at Douglas College and so far I can say Dr. Chapdelaine is the best professor you can ever have. The worst? Dr. Cory Pedersen. If you wanna learn how to write in APA format, you need to take a class or two with Dr. CHapdeline. If you wanna degrade your GPA and work hard for nothing, then take a class with Pedersen.
Extremely passionate about her subject!! She's super nice and approachable. I wish I had taken both of my psych courses with her.
Dr.C is by far my favourite professor at Douglas College. Her lectures are the most memorable because she brought so many extra sources such as books and videos to share which means that she really loves psychology. Her enthusiasm made me want to be at class and I genuinely enjoyed it! Going to take another course with her if possible
"Taught" her sjw views rather than actual facts, expected us to defend her she view's on exams, rather than argue for or against them. Will not be taking again as I prefer to think for myself, rather than to be taught to be a victim, as Raquel will lead you to believe you are.
LOVE Dr. C! Highly recommend her courses!! Took psyc 1100, 1200, 3330 with her!
Great prof
Easy GPA booster; questions for the tests are taken from weekly online quizzes; gives you short answer questions ahead of time and tells the class she will pick out some of those questions for the tests; lectures are awesome and very interesting; APA lab report is basically fill-in-the-blanks and worth 15% of total grade
Love love love Raquel. If you don't attend her lectures you probably won't pass. She is hilarious and cares a lot about her students. If you don't care then she probably won't either. She sets clear guidelines with assignments and her tests are very fair. I would take her again in a heart beat.
Dr. Chapdelaine is without a doubt my favourite professor ever. She can make any topic fun, exciting and easy to understand. if you truly want to learn, she is the professor for you. She wants everyone to succeed and focuses on quality, not quantity of learning. I wish she could be my professor for all my courses. She is absolutely amazing.
This woman is amazing!! She is by far one of the best profs I have ever had. She is passionate, knowledgeable, and all around a wonderful person. She is the type of prof that changes your life and I am so grateful for her teachings! If you want more then just a class take her course you won't regret it!
She's awesome! She marks hard on APA, but she will help you with it if you need it. Her lectures are very interesting. She gives really good feedback on the papers and really cares about her students.
Hands down the best prof I have ever had. I have had Dr. C (among many other profs) since my first year and she is without a doubt the best. Incredibly passionate and obviously hard working. She really cares about her students! I took 1100, 1200, 3330, 3340, and 3390 - I would take her again and again if I weren't graduating. Would 100% recommend!
Great prof and super passionate.
Dr. C is great. She has high expectations, but she is passionate about psychology, and is very clear in her explanations. Her lectures are super heavy, but amazing. I learned a lot from her, and I'd definitely take her again. She does use launchpad and gives lectures after exams (her exams are tough), which sucks, but her classes are worth it.
Dr. C is the best professor I have taken at Douglas. She is a lot of fun, and makes concepts very easy to understand. Lectures are heavy, and always run until the very last minute of allowed time.
Really loved having Dr. C for Psych 1200, wasn't sure what to expect but was very happy! She grades fairly hard and assigns a lot of work but she really wants the best for you, I saw her during office hours and booked some appointments and she gave lots of helpful feedback, definitely helped me improve. Don't miss a lecture, pay attention, do great
Raquel is the the best teacher I have ever had. Her lectures and feedback inspired and motivated me to do better in classes, to undertake more new challanges, and to choose my future profession. Would definetly recommend her to anyone! 10/10. She is a true gem!
LOVE RAQUEL. Inspired me to change my life! Never been drawn in by a prof like this. Lectures are amazing and made me love school! Workload is high but because it all helps understanding of material. Extremely accessible outside class and just in a league of her own. Looking forward to seeing her come back from leave!
Her lectures are really inspirational and you are able to apply that knowledge to real life events. Shes a little strict with attendance so make sure to show up to class but other then that you should take that class.
Raquel is an amazing and inspiring professor but she makes her exams and gradings unnecessarily tough and doesnt give you much room for improvement. Unless you are able to easily grasp major concepts, this class will be tough.
Cultural blow your mind! If you wanna go beyond the surface and truly learn this is the course for you. No lip service with Raquel. LOVED it and wish she taught more courses.
Took 2 classes with her. Loved all of them! Taking 1200 with her before 3340 was really helpful! Highly recommend. She clearly explains the differences between opinion and knowledge to help us undertand the material.
An intense course and prof. She knows her stuff and is super knowledgeable. However, you always have to agree with her in order to receive a good mark, which can be frustrating. You need to study for tests, you cant get by studying the night before. I would recommend, taking a lighter course load if your planning on taking courses with Raquel.
Dr C is the best! You will not regret taking her class. She pushes you to be the best that you can be and you feel awesome about it at the end of the day! Super helpful prod!
Do you want to actually learn? Look no further, Dr. C is the prof for you! Great course and great prof!
Dr. C really cares about her students doing well. Her lectures are amazing and really help you to remember the material. Grades hard for APA. Gives essay questions for exams in advance. I do find that she is very concrete in her beliefs and it can feel like it's her way or the highway, so some things you may disagree with. Overall really great!
Raquel, as a professor, is one of a kind. If you are immature, rigid, and un-evolved in your personal growth, then it is not likely that you will fully appreciate her way of teaching.
Sit at the front of the class, participate and stay humble - and you will earn Raquel's respect. Her lectures are very inspiring and she truly makes you want to be a better human being. Initially, I had my doubts about how I would fare taking her class, but I am over the moon that I did. Oh, and keep your cell phones tucked away! That is a no no.
Dr Chapdelaine is tough but fair. She expects you to act like an adult and has zero tolerance for messing around. She brings in content from lots of other resources to try to flesh out the textbook make the content relevant to your life. Heavy on participation! Raise your hand, ask questions, and act professionally and you'll do great.
Good prof all around. Really wants students to be an active member of the class. Wasn't too fond of her lecture slides as she would take material from many sources (ended up being a bit disorganized imo). Take her class if you have a light course load because there will be a lot of attention needed for the material (especially the APA paper).
Awesome class! Such an in depth look into Psyc even though it was a intro course! Dr. C is super clear, loved it!
I'm not going to lie, this class is HARD. I did poorly on this course because a) I didn't put in the effort b) didn't prepare for the paper c) didn't see her in-office hours. In order to succeed, you need to PREPARE, read your textbooks, and ask for HELP. She only wants you to succeed because she cares about the class and YOU.
She does in depth psych. If your looking for a prof to read over powerpoints, parrot the textbook and dumb things down, don't take her. She's all about complexity but is clear too!
By far the best prof I've had during my undergrad degree. After taking two of her classes, I was inspired to pursue a degree in psychology because she made the course content so interesting. If you're a student at Douglas, taking a course with her is a must.
Dr. C was probably the most engaging and enthusiastic prof ive ever had! No electronics allowed in class which makes for an awesome learning environment. You print out her notes and fill in the blanks during class. Content is clearly explained in understandable ways. She really takes time to genuinely connect with students and facilitate learning.
Worst prof ever. Only thing she cares about is her syllabus
Loved this prof! So inspiring and dedicated to students! Great learning experience. Highly recommend.
Raquel is helping raise the collective human consciousness by opening the eyes of sleep-walking and immature human beings (you & I). With one 4 month long course she will expand you-- that is, if you are receptive & ready to evolve. Her classes are FAR beyond "a college course." They're life classes.
Entertaining professor. Lectures are amazing and she makes the class enjoyable and not boring. However, she is a stickler when it comes to APA formatting (make sure you go to her for help). And her tests are difficult, so study well. You CANNOT skate by, as she makes you really work for your grade. Avoid if your looking for an "easy" class.
Love Dr C! Even online the lectures were amazing!
Dr. C helped me understand the meaning of a good work ethic and the importance of setting boundaries so people dont take advantage of you. And yeah the lectures were awesome too!
Mrs. Chapdelaine genuinely wants her students to succeed. Don't expect to take this class and not participate - but easy 10%. Show up to lectures, read her material (her exams are open book), and you will get an A. She cares for her students and is happy to give good grades! Her syllabus is intense but it just lists basic rules and instructions.
Be prepared to participate, and make sure you pay attention in lectures. Exams are rather difficult, and shes super strict about APA formatting. Dr. C is rather intimidating, I found some of her comments to other students were quite condescending. Her class was bearable, but her teaching style just wasnt for me.
Very kind prof, passionate about psychology. Her lectures are long, but she makes them very interesting. She cares about her students and their success in class, and encourages you to ask questions. Shes very strict about APA format, but she gives lots of helpful feedback so you can improve. Study hard and participate and youll do great!
Her lectures are strongly opinionated and gets annoying to listen to over a period of time. She is okay at teaching but can be a pain when it comes to APA and feedback. Will never help you if its against her course outline. A teacher who doesn't really care about her students.
Awesome class! Dr C has helped me become a much better writer. Very flexible, spent hours helping me understand APA and helped me through a rough patch. Highly recommend
Super engaging class not a dull moment. Very kind prof. She can be tough but she is fair. Key to success is to participate. asking for preferential treatment (which is unfair to other students who work hard) is a no no. If your not ready to work hard, dont take her course
Dr C changed my life! If you're at Douglas, taking a class with her is a must. Life changing class. Not for whiners or babies though! She's tough but she's great! Love her!
Love Raquel! Super-dedicated prof, knows her stuff and very caring. Stayed with students after class for as long as she could, gave great advice during office hours and selected the most amazing videos to complement the class. I finally learned how to write in APA style because of her.
Dont expect fake praise and come to class, if you want to do well!! The stuff she teaches you stays with you for a long time. If you cant take constructive criticism dont take her. Shes serious about teaching, and if your willing to actually learn youll love it.
You must attend class and participate. She can be intimidating but her lectures are insightful and useful on the exams. I would recommend waiting to take her class when the pandemic is over because I have a feeling that is why she is getting some negative reviews from the fall 2020 classes, her teaching style probably translates better in person.
Super-clear and helpful course outline! Students know exactly what to do and expect. Put in the effort and you'll do great!! My other profs did not do synchronous. Her online class was almost as if it was in-person! I loved it!
Dr. C is an intense prof. You need to work for your grade. Tests are heavily based on lectures and the specific areas of the text that are covered in lectures. She comes off very harsh, if you can't take constructive criticism do NOT take this class. She is insightful and always willing to help BUT consult her 38pg syllabus before asking questions
First time a prof taught me to use APA properly Raquel gave me detailed feedback and helped me do better in all my courses with APA. Totally worth it. Her outline is long but theres no surprises if u take the time to read it
If u can't put in the effort or immature you'll not like this class but if you really want to learn psyc, wow what an awesome class. she did a great job. I was never bored and u could tell she put a ton of effort into the class unlike the other profs who disappeared during covid.
Dr. Chapdelaine is a great instructor! She teaches the material really well and relates the material with personal and relevant things. Funny and respectful :) Do NOT get intimidated by her strict guidelines and emails because she is very easy going as long as you follow those rules and meet her expectations. Her lectures are the study guides.
Hardest marker I have ever come across and is terrible at explaining concepts. She claimed multiple people used plagiarism including myself when every single sentence was cited. Do not take any of her courses if you care about your gpa.
I thought of giving on studying psyc and then took this course . Dr C made me enjoy psyc again. Super interesting course. Great feedback on tests and Apa
Rachel is a hard marker, especially on APA paper, She consider that you plagiarism even you cited it in the right way. Randomly choose a student to answer question at beginning of class and if you cannot answer. You got 0 attendance and an private meeting with her to clarify :) pressure class and student during her class because of scare :(
Raquel is a hard marker and accuses multiple people of plagiarism every semester. She picks on random people to answer questions and it seems as though she wants you to do bad. would never take her again
Dr C was awesome all around taking the time to help after class with extra office hours, she TEACHES students about what plagiarism is. people seem to forget that learning about plagiarism and how to write an apa paper is what they signed up for the class. The course's about some great topics in psych the apa paper's a detail
Very caring prof, super-helpful, & organized Students know exactly what to do to do great in class. Put in the effort show up and participate. Dr Cs office hours were great too. I learned a ton and got good academic advice too.
If you are a lazy student who does not truly care about learning how to write papers and conduct research, then don't take her class. She doesn't suffer fools lightly. But if you want to get into graduate school and become a professional, then take her class. It is hard. Her paper requirements are meticulous. But you will learn.
I'm sure Raquel is a lovely person but her material is intimidating and overwhelming (42 page syllabus!), especially during a pandemic/online classes. When someone writes in all caps and exclamation marks it's a tad alarmist. Extremely pedantic about how things are to be done. Lectures are insightful. I would've appreciated a smidge less rigidity.
Dr C is awesome through and through! Super-organized, clear and professional. She expects professional behaviour in class so don't expect to slack off and get away with it. Very fair with students and very flexible with students who have legitimate reasons and who do not cross boundaries. Highly recommend!
Dr C helped me thru a rough patch in addition to being a super inspiring prof. Her syllabus is long but its because 95 percent of the info you need about the class is in one document. I liked this better than having profs give you a ton of handouts during the course especially in a pandemic. Great prof great lectures!
just .. dont. thats really alll you gotta know
This class was hard work but sooo much fun Dr C is super engaging prof, so knowledgeable!! I developed a lot of confidence with my academics after taking her class. Lazy students need not apply, she's wants people to EARN their marks.
Do not take her class if you care about your gpa, compromising is not in her vocabulary and she pretends that she cares for her students but she actually could care less
Raquel was an awesome teacher! I had major surgery during the term she gave me two extensions to hand in my paper. Play by the rules don't expect her to make exceptions for you if you dont have a legitimate reason. Super-fair prof! Why should students who slack off be treated the same as students who are hardworking?
Dr. C is by far the best instructor I've had for a psychology course. She clearly puts a huge amount of effort into her lectures and expects the same amount of effort on assignments and tests. You definitely have to work hard to do well in her class, but it's worth it. Writing an APA paper is a lot less intimidating now.
All material is taken directly from the textbook as her lectures don't make sense. She will claim you're plagiarizing for any simple mistake. If you care about your GPA don't take this class with her !!!! She explains all of her topics around her political views. She will randomly call on you and participation is mandatory.
Awesome class!! My two big takeaways were how to use critical thinking and not to fall for irrational persuasion and really learn how to write a paper using APA. She gives lots of chances to learn the rules during the term w/ lots of great material; the you apply them in the final paper. Highly recommend for students who want put in the effort
Get ready to participate, because it is graded! She was cool though asking students to volunteer in the beginning of every class. Fair prof and also stayed after class whenever she could to help
She is very intimidating at first with her syllabus, but trust me she is a great prof. All of her tests are open book and she discusses in her lectures the most important topics to watch out for. You only have to do 1 APA paper and she gives multiple resources to help you succeed. She cares for your well being, you just got to put in the work!
Dr. C has some amazing lectures. Many of the concepts she teaches you in her lectures are relatable to everyday life. However, some of the wording on her exams was a little bit confusing, and she is also quick to accuse of plagiarism over minor mistakes on the paper. I get she's trying to enforce APA standards, but this is a first year course..
dont take dr.c if you care about your gpa. she treats douglas as if its harvard.
I'll give her some credit for being passionate about lecturing but seriously folks if you want to get into psychology you are going to need to remove yourself from professors like her who impose her beliefs/philosophy of life so deeply into her lesson plan that you feel like you need to take a psychological shower afterwards.
LOVE Dr. C! This is the third class I've taken with her; she's fair, objective, and really focused on critical thinking and the scientific method in the lectures. You've got to do the work to succeed though!
She primarily focuses on textbook material, and likes to focus on her specialization (psychoanalysis), but realistically I don't think she has a good grasp on what helps students learn. She misuses the hand raising function to "que" students to respond to her lecturing despondently and doesn't actually create a good environment for engagement.
SHE LOVES TO HEAR HER OWN VOICE! Could care less about her student's inputs. Don't expect for Dr C to answer your questions when you want to ask them. She will not answer raised hands, but will call on specific people (whose hands are not up) and ask them to ask a question. She does it to feel superior when the students do not have a q prepared.
A gem of prof!
PSYC 3330 There is a 20 page research paper, which almost all of the students were confused about. While there were over 200 pages of instructions for APA formatting and the paper itself (I'm not kidding), it was still unclear. This prof has strong viewpoints (e.g. that phones are the devil incarnate), has chaotic & confusing lectures, but is nice.
very confusing tests, she only uses select material from the textbook and picks on you to participate. Unbelievable expectations from students. Don't even get me started on the assigned paper MUST AVOID!
Dr C gave me the best writing advice ever. Got 90 on a paper for different prof using her advice for the cultural Psyc paper. She makes you work but shes a great prof
Raquel expects students to work hard BUT it pays off if you really wanna learn. I transferred to UBC and T.A.'d for one of my profs (helped other students with APA). She's the instructor to go to if you take your studies seriously!
Seems strict at first but she follows academic standards & gives lot of material to learn & feedback especially about APA paper. Participation graded but didn't force anyone to volunteer. Great lectures, high energy prof & many book/video recommendations. Passionate about Psych, answers all questions & really wants serious students to succeed!
I made the mistake of taking Raquel my first semester at Douglas and I still have PTSD. It's crazy how she's a psychology professor but does not know how to care for her students. It's my last sem at Douglas now and I have yet to come across a professor this traumatizing. Just here to help fellow students out. GL friends
I've taken 3 of Dr C's courses online and in person. Awesome prof and super dedicated to her students Highly recommend her but you need to get ready to work!
She's the best. I love her lectures and the way she teaches. The exams are well-thought. The class is so engaging. She always have interesting examples. She also suggests and talks about extra books related to the topics. I would definitely take her classes again!
Dr C is an awesome prof super dedicated every lecture was super engaging...Sad the term's over...Work hard & you'll do great
Dr C is a great professor with a lot of valuable insight into the field of psychology. Highly recommend her classes.
Dr. C was one of my favourite profs at Douglas College. She made 3-hour lectures fly by as she provided a lot of examples and videos to better explain the concepts talked about in class. She is very passionate about psychology and it makes every class interesting.
She made a subject that could have been really enjoyable, very difficult and painstaking. The APA paper that she does is insane and so confusing. It alone would have made me regret taking the course. The forced participation and snarky comments from Dr. C were the cherry on top to make this one of the worst classes I have taken.
Dr. Chapdelaine is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. Her lessons are super clear, engaging, and interesting. There's a lot of stuff to memorize, but the way she teaches makes it stick without needing tons of review before tests. And as long as you pay attention to the instructions posted for the APA paper, you should be fine.
She has quite engaging lectures and is very humorous. But her term paper is the worst!!! It is extremely difficult, and she did not let me resubmit it because of my wifi problems. SHE IS NOT AFRAID TO GIVE YOU A ZERO. Her exams are very long as well.
Dr. C was a really good prof. Her lectures were really engaging and she seems to really care about her students success. The APA paper for the course was quite difficult but she provided a guide for writing and was helpful throughout the process. She also gives really good feedback about your writing. Would definitely recommend her class!
definitely don't need the textbook. she was fun to take, no tech in her class though which makes you focus. her tests are easy if you study the right stuff and made her lectures interesting. she is very "by the book" wouldn't bump me up too an A even though i was less than a percent below and VERY strict on her paper so DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING.
Dr. C is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches! The textbook is important as both exams pull from both her lectures and the textbook. The paper is intense, instructions are a bit confusing, but she will give you in-depth feedback on your work. She is fair, might seem tough, but she is a great prof. Would take again & recommend!
I really liked Dr C. I didn't do well on the midterm because I forgot the name of some psychologists so make sure to remember their names. The research paper is very specific but if you follow the instructions closely, it's not too hard. Make sure to book office hours in advance. I really enjoyed her discussions and classes and overall she's great.
I love Dr. Chapdelaine. Let's be clear, she is a tough grader, but here's why: She loves her students. She has a lot of respect for you and wants you to SUCCEED. She felt like a mother to me in the best way. She is so funny and caring. Her class is (hard) but as long as you attend class and try, you'll be fine.10/10.
Professor Chapdelaine is tough but fair. Her lectures are engaging, and if you keep up with the textbook and assignments, you'll do well. The paper is challenging but manageable with unstuck ai for extra support.
Dr Raquel Chapdelaine is a super nice person. Her lectures are long but she explains it in a way that's very easy to understand. She does give a 15 page APA paper which is quite hard and she is very precise when marking it, however she also gives lots of good feedback. I would highly recommend her. Side note: her class is completely tech free.
If you love yourself don't take this class, she's not a bad person but she rambles I never knew what was going on she would never get to the point. your attendance matters she takes marks off if you don't go. She gets mad if u wanna use the washroom and she gives a 20 page paper overall wouldn't take again.
No tech in class which is hard to adjust for. Extremely hard marker on the essay but exams are all multiple choice! Attendance / participation is mandatory & graded, some videos online to watch outside of class time. I had some external things going and she was kind and accessible through email and phone, don't be afraid to reach out for help!
Dr. C is a passionate prof. You can tell how much work she puts into her research and work as a prof. Def expects effort and students to put in the work, but because she truly wants students to develop in their studies. She can be a tough marker, but do the readings, study, and follow her APA guide. Very personable if you need help as well!
Good prof. Very clear on what she wants from you, tends to get ramble on about random things mid lecture. Be aware there is no technology allowed although she provides note summary's for each chapter, attend class and watch the videos and you'll get a good grade.
very nice and approachable prof, but tends to ramble a lot. And I mean a lot. Lectures never follow a clear structure and a lot of teaching myself from home. She gets mad if you have to use the bathroom/don't care about her lecture, and there's absolutely no technology in class at all. If she taught with a clear flow, she would be a 5/5 for me.
Teaches the material "her way". She rambles for three hours every week, attendance every time. Class is boring¬ particularly instructive. Requires you to pay for her custom coursepack plus textbook, and then doesn't really use either. However, the exams cover all of the material, so expect to teach yourself! Online textbook is helpful for exams!
Amazing prof! Super clear and really knows her stuff! Classes felt like a really great ted talk. Study her slides read the textbook and you'll do great. no technology allowed but it really helps to focus!
If u r looking to skate by don't take Dr. C! (Why would u wanna have bad education anyways?!! lol) Great lectures, amazing course! Lecture heavy but totally worth it
Key takeways: long but amazing lectures, very clear prof, great course resources and videos, NO technology but she gives students ALL her notes. Her coursepack is free and super helpful. Many exam questions come from the coursepack, so study all her slides!! She's tough but if you're serious student, you'll love her courses!
Raquel is a very funny professor, however be prepared to fully focus in class since she rambles all class and there will be times you'll be confused. She goes back and forth among units so you have to do the readings on your own. The no tech policy is no joke she will kick you out of class if she catches you using your phone. Tough grader, but good
Dr C is soooo clear! Lectures are amazing; I didn't feel time pass. She's super-well organized and her BB website is so great! It's got everything you need. Everything she says is a piece of the puzzle of a larger story. If you don't distract yourself or miss classes you will do great! She tough but so great!
