I thought she was opne of the best professors I've ever had. She was tough but fair. I really enjoyed her class

She is my advisor too and has gone out of her way to help me graduate on time (like meeting with me on a Saturday and calling another professor in a class I was failing). She is not teaching any classes this semester so you need to email her for an advisement appointment. Buffalo State needs more teachers like Dr. Schmidt!

Dr. Schmidt is great! This is my first semester and she has made me excited about being in college. I heard horror stories about other sections of this class. Horrible teachers and like 5 novels to read. She has great enthisuasm and is very easy to look at. She needs to dress better.

So far class seems pretty easy--I know people in other sections of this class that hate it because of so much work. She talks a lot about race relations, intelligence. She lectures alot from powerpoint but puts it all online. She is pretty funny (ha ha not weird) and has us do alot of group discussions. So far I give her a thumbs up.

really easy class, easy A. no tests but a midterm. lots of really easy assignments. cancells class often atleast for me tuesdays and thursdays. need the book. can be really interesting and she keeps you attention. better than all the other BSC101 teachers i hear about.

I had a great experience with Dr. Shmidt in Block 2. She gives lots of independenc to do projects but will always meet anytyme in or outsid eof class & review work she is great one one one. Slackers beware she will leave alone and not push to get stuff done. She is big on urban education and political stuff-pushes you to examine ur beleifs

I'm in Exe 100 with her this semester. I have heard other students complaining about this class for being hard but I think she is doing a good job & tries to make it interesting. All you have to do is read the book and exams aren't too bad. I would take a class from her again.

The lectures were funny an all.. went with the topics.. but she really did not teach anything.. the book taught me everything.. class on angel.. really helpful.. exams were easy.. no reason you should not get at least a b in this class.. 3 exams were given in total..plus an opportunity of extra credit!!

easy A. no-brainer, read the book & study the powerpoints. she comes off mean in class but go see her in her office. I got really sick and missed 1 exam and she let me make it up, was very nice about it. Way too many people in this class (300+) but will call on students to answer questions. she will yell at you if you talk or have cell phone out.

great teacher. she canceled class too much. she is a good teacher with her lectures. very nice out of class. she remembered my name out of 275 students. she kind of makes it easy to get at least a b in the class.

Very good teacher. Read other comments and disagree. We spent like 10 minutes in class on clicker training. No cancelled classes this semester. We had 2 online classes on Angel which were a breeze. I commute an hour so I like the online classes. She works hard to make class interesting. 3 exams (easy), study guides not too helpful but website is.

Very nice and helpful! Make the effort and you will get a good grade. Test are a hard because they're on so much material.Read the chapters and power points.All power points can be found on Angel. Lectures can be boring at times.

Great Teacher!!!! Tries hard to make class interesting/entertaining for big class. A lot of online videos. 4 exams 50 mc ?s all from book and some class stuff. Study the online questions in the book most exam questions from right from there. Attendence mandatory start & end of class and gives easy quizzes with clicker. Would recommend

Had for summer class. Very well organized, all assignments given first day of class. Not overwelming amoutn of work but a lot of reading. Class 1/2 online 1/2 on campus. Lectures were intersting and she's funny. Online classes OK. Only 10 students in class and most were boring in online discussions Got a lot out of the course, would recommend.

very rude teacher. teaching habits are odd. power points, sarcasm noted. offensive comments. can comprehend course content easily. --seriously recommended for teaching, seriously NOT recommended if you have a younger retarded brother you don't like getting made fun of.

Easy class. Attendence is required. All tests and readings given first week of class. I'm a ed major and wish this class was smaller, too many disrespctful students. Prof is not as bad as ealrler posts say. She seems frustrated with many students but its not hard to do well if u read book & study website. I recommend as easy 100 level class.

I'm a first semester Buf State trnsfr stdent. I like this class. Pros:All class lectures put on Angel, exams easy, no written work, professor knows what shes talking about & teaches from more than just book, life issues, online classes. Cons: HUGE class, many rude freshman, even studying a lot tests have some tricky questions. Overall my best class

I am aslo a tranfer student here at buffalo state. I find her class to be interesting. There are 3 test 1 final and a couple of online classes. The class would be more intersting if there were less RUDE freshman but otherwise i would reccommand it. Her test are not tricky as long as you student the powerpoints, look over your notes your be FINE!

This is a good class. Teacher is only "sarcastc" to stupid repeat questions asked by freshman who talk thruout class. All class requirements laid out and lots of xtra credit, not too hard to get A if you show up & study. Also go to office hours. I trsnferd to Buf st from geneseo & am shocked at rude ghetto student behavior in all of my classes

This class is incredibly easy. Unless you're doing into ex-ed, don't waste your money on the book. She uses questions from the textbook companion which is linked and powerpoints, I did maybe 3 hours of ACTUAL work all semester and got an A. The class itself was depressing because it amazes me that so many dumb people are going to be teachers.

Easy class. 3 exams, final is cum. Most exam quests on website. prof is entertaining, mixes up lectures w/videos but class is mostly still pretty boring. I'm a biz major so no interest in this. I agree with earlier comments, reason why our country is down the tubes is the DUMBasses who go into education. Can't believe stupid quests asked in class

one of the best classes i've had at this school, and i'm a senior who's been to 4 colleges. expectations are clear and straightforward, all aissgnments (easy exams) given at start of semester. large lecture class can be a drag but uses humor & utube to keep things moving. downside is large class, same idiots asking ??s all the time. bring laptop

great professer, i changed into major because of this class. teaches alot about different races and cultures. all test questions given before exams and all classwork on Angel, attendance is not required even though it's worth it

Best class this semester. requirements are clear, attendence is extra credit, test questions are on review sheet and online,uses utube to keep ppl interested while teaching. Love the teaching methods!!

Attendance is extra credit. She gives you a review guide w/ all the questions that will be on the test, word for word. Clicker quizzes are also extra credit. Perfect Attendance= higher grade. It's an easy course! She's an easy teacher!

Dr. Schmidt is the best professor!! Her classes are interesting. She gives you all the test questions and some of the answers before every test and is very helpful.

Attendance and homework are all extra credit but I reccomend doing them because they help you with the test. She gives you study guides but it takes forever to find all the answers and even with the answers you never get a 100. She never responds to your emails so don't even bother! Her class was very intersting!

You're only graded on 4 open book exams but that doesn't make this class easy. Attendance isn't mandatory so read the text and you'll do okay.

I loved this class! It was online one day and the we met in bulger the other day. All four tests are online and she gives you the study guide to do ahead of time with all the exact questions. She is very helpful even though it is lecture style, and gives many extra credit opportunities. Buy the book, it helps for tests. All work is extra credit!

I loved her as a professor! Although the class I took met one day a week and the rest was online, she was extremely helpful when I had questions! Make sure to read the textbook-just because it's an online class does not mean it's super easy. As long as you do all of the online work-she's great!

Class met once a week. All homework was extra credit. She gives you study guides for the test and it takes forever to find the questions and the class average was like a 70.She never answeres emails so don't bother. Learned a lot and was very intersting.

This was a rough class because I took it in the summer. She was thorough and had a lot of insight. To babies on here whining about a 100 level course: Suck it up, cupcakes. Professors are not here to coddle you. Perhaps they are tough on you because they're trying to weed out the morons. Well played, professors.

Hybrid class - met once a week. if you go to 80% or more of class, it's extra credit. if you do the online portion of the class every week, it's more extra credit (letter grade) 4 tests from the book. try and split book cost with friends, it's expensive otherwise. do the study guides, they're super helpful. go to class, the extra credit is worth it

Hybrid class-attendance is extra credit. She is pretty straightforward about requirements and extra credit. 4 exams with study guides. It's worth is to attend class, she knows her stuff and has a good sense of humor. I met with her during office hours to review study guides and she was very helpful and nice.

Attendance isn't mandatory for this class, it's based off 4 online exams reading the text is a chore but it must be done if you plan on passing the tests, the book is boring and expensive. I suggest taking the tests in groups. She herself isn't bad, she has a good sense of humor, offers extra credit and is willing to help. It's a really big class.

Easy A. Simple class dont need to participate. Shes a cool teacher knows her stuff. I dont recommend taking her online seem like a lot of work, I had a hybrid class so it was optional. Didnt have to do as much writing as the online class. Just take 4 test and the study guide was the exact test. Most questions are online.

Easy class to do well in if you put in the work. 4 exams with class reviews, some online work. She is very approachable in her office hours, gave me a time extension for a test when I had the flu. Definitely need the book, and it is worth it to attend class.

She's super funny and very knowledgable. She has a lot of experience in her field, overall a great class. Attendance is taken at the beginning and end of every class so she knows if you don't show up, are late, or if you leave class early. It's a hybrid and there is no final, only four tests all year.
