Awesome prof! Very likeable, mix of stories and teaching is great, makes coming to class enjoyable. Tests might be a tad easy, but material gets covered and you learn what's necessary.

i dun think his tests r easy beside the first one... the rest are hard. But his lectures are helpless, he talks about useless stuffs during lecture. Perhaps a full lecutre explaining how to look at the graph? We have learnt that early in Gr.9
VERY NICE PROF!
Easiest prof ever. Can't understand his lectures at all. Going to class is a complete waste of time. He talks about the Leafs. I'm convinced he purposely makes the course easy so that he'll get good student reviews and keep getting his contract renewed.
He's an easy prof i guess... even i'm not doing too well in his class. He can't really explain well dou, but he really hopes ppl can go to his class, he's a nice man beside his lecture r mainly helpless in study for the tests and exams

Class was boring but a good mark was easy to get as long as you looked over the study guide & old tests he provided. At least 50% of the questions you practice will show up on the test. Nice guy, feel lucky if u get him for 1A06 other profs much harder!

This is a review from gr.12 economics for me but its ok. He has a funny humour and tries to get us involved but his notes make no sense.
this prof is as bad as it can get. for sure ur not gonna learn anything in his class, besides his personal life and what he watched on TV last night.Not helpful whatsoever..sleeps during his office hrs.self-study the text otherwise 3rd yr will be nightmar

This class is so easy if you just read the text and actually attend. He offers his students sooo much help and he's a really nice guy! He brought us pizza but that's just the kind of guy he is, he actually cares about his students and wants them to do well.His tests and assignments are also fair!
All i have to say is STUDY GUIDE. He also takes questions right from his courseware and the tests in there. Apart from his "stories" and his accent he's alright, very helpful. Bad prof, makes up for it with easy tests no doubt. He gives the whole class extra marks lol..Good guy
khan is funny... and because of his funny accent.. i doubt most of the class know what he is talking about... but he gives you "sample" exam questions, and takes a lot of quesitons from his study guide... at the end he also gives the whole class a 5% bonus because the average is soo bad.
Great Prof! Takes the best 2 out of 3 test, and best 3 out of 4 assignments. Lot of multiple choice questions are from the study guide. Exam is fair, but kinda long (100 MC). Overall, a great prof
The man's a moron, he gives you 5% because he gets 5% of each answer key wrong. He can't even even copy a text book. He jumps around three handwritten transparencies at once erasing and correcting his mistakes, of course you can't understand him b/c of his accent. The man is dazed, confused and lost
Khan is the man, he sets you up to do well.. you guys are morons if you didnt do well.. its your own fault.. learn how to read and maybe you can pass

Economics is very hard
i wont say he's hard. just if you guys want an easy mark, go with him. if u intend to do Hon.E. , avoid his classes by all means. You WILL NOT learn anything from him, it just costed you pains if you procced further in the economics field if you have Khan for the first yr 06 and both 2nd yr intermediate marco. courses. Good Luck
He is the coolest prof of all time. Hes my favourite teacher ive ever had. He's so funny and talks about the most random things!! I love how he talks about the leafs every lecture! Khan your the man!!!
The man discusses far too often on things off topic, gives you pizza last class to get a better teacher rating. Honestly his tests are retarded "best fit" multiple choice, go to class if you dare!
Very easy, hilarious prof. Course is designed for you to get a good mark. Lectures are helpful but not necessary.

Rashman is the best ever teacher I've ever had. He is so cool!! Very clear speaker, good jokes, good pizza, and excellent teaching philosophy.
Khan appears to be nice and pleasant in class but email him or talk to him in his office its a different story. Totally rude! Gives you pizza at the end of semester; wants you to give me a higher rating!! You learn absolutely nothing in class, the textbook is your friend. Horrible prof.
You absolutely learn nothing in class. Just do the study guide, past exams and textbook. East midterms but kills you in the final.
Midterms are easy but be prepared to get owned in the final.

All you first year students haven't experienced the dark side of having him in upper year courses. Absolutely terrible. He is unclear and doesn't even know what he is talking about. Btw, the free pizza is a bribe for boosting his rating.
I have Prof. Khan ever since 1st year 1A06, now I'm in 3rd. I pretty much self-learnt over the past 3 years. I agree he's nice; but this' not doing any good on u, esp. those who wanna proceed into econ. His tests are not easy, just b/c he copied frm his past papers, we THOUGHT they are easy. wait and see his finals, they are tough!
You have to get into this class he gives you tonnes of bonus marks and he is very easy. He sucks at lectures but you can learn everything on your own. He is very helpful with the final. I was going in with a 12 no problem.
Boring,u never know what he is talking about. We don't go to his class because we don't want to waste time. We can passed this course only depending on our self-study.

I can't understand his accent. He speaks and speaks, but nothing makes sense. When approched, he isn't that friendly and is very short-tempered. His overhead notes make no sense. I would not recommend this prof.
Khan is a decent prof. Tries hard to convey the concepts; sometimes he succedes sometimes he doesn't. I think that probably he knows that he is not very good at teaching so this is why he gives easy tests.
Great prof. All his lectures are based on the custom courseware (which has old tests/exams). So easy. Take a lot of questions from old tests/exams. Kinda boring class. For the final he actually gives everyone a review sheet which basically tells you the topic to study. AND neatest of all, he buys the entire class pizza near the end of the term!
I got an A with him in first year but this man should not be teaching at all. He rambles on about his macro models but the only all he does is write formula after formula, introduce new variables, solving for variables. This is not economics. Even if he didn't have an accent, he would still be very hard to follow. Pretty much a self-study course.

his class is the easiest in MAC, just study the study guide and the final guide line, then u will be all fine and get high mark. he give high mark for essays too!
HE is one of the best prof ever
If you have him for first year econ, do all of the study guide questions before every test!!! Many of the same questions come up on his tests. If you use your textbook and attend class you will do very well.
Had him for 1b03&2hh3, pretty much the same thing. Everything is in the custom courseware he uses, practice tests/quizzes. He's a pretty bad prof, boring, doesn't explain things well. Uses formulas and graphs without really explaining why we use them. The only good thing is it's a guaranteed A-.. getting an A+ is a BIT harder but still very doable.
Great guy, hard to understand but you will get the point. His quizes and tests are exactly like his previous tests and quizes, so study the courseware, dont bother looking at the study guide.
AHHH STOP USING OVERHEADS. if u take notes in class you will find that they are extremely useless. there are 2 things you need to do. 1) read the covered sections in the textbook. 2) do the practise tests in the courseware. you might also get a thing or two out of looking at the courseware notes.
Do not go to the class u can understand everything from the textbook and courseware. His lecture has significantly decreased my interest in Economics.

He knows his stuff. Very knowledgeable which sometimes makes him go faster & students sometimes cant keep pace with that. Lectures are important with bonus marks given for attendance on special occasions like test review. Textbook reading is a must. Practice tests in course ware are a must & very similar to actual tests.

Very nice person, modest and accepts critique, knows his stuff (most of the time). On the down side: quite messy, bad lecturing, inconsistent pace (can dwell long on basic stuff and cruise through other chapters). If you are smart you will not have trouble figuring out everything he is trying to say.
I don't know why people bash Khan -- he's a really nice, genuine guy and his lectures are bearable; a lot better than some other econ profs. He does have a thick accent, and he has an odd style of teaching where he uses his courseware too much and oddly organized notes on overheads, but simply: if you don't go to class, you'll do terrible.
Disorganized, inconsistent pace, knowledgeable, scary. Read the material prior to the lectures to have a clear understanding on what he is teaching. Ask for help when needed--gives clear explanations. The courseware is enough to get an A in this class.
Do not expect clean, organized class notes. Attend your lectures (gives TONNES of bonus marks from bonus quizzes/tests) and read off course pack, and you will sure get nice grades
A thick accent and tends to ramble, but if you listen to what he's saying and don't attempt to just follow along with the courseware, you'd find that he's actually extremely helpful when explaining things. One of the nicest professors at McMaster.

very hard to understand in class and super disorganized class notes but....he gives you a ton of practice tests in the coursware which are very useful( he often uses the same questions for tests) and if you attend class he does a lot of bonus assignments to help everyone out.. good guy overall will take his classes again
Absolutely cannot teach, if it wasn't for his course ware (which provides a ton of previous tests and quizzes) most people would fail his classes
Alright guys, you gotta be fair to him. He is a little hard to understand but he does give you a LOT of sample tests. Trust me, there are many profs out there who are both unclear AND unfair.
He's hard to understand with a thick accent, messy writing and disorganizedish teaching, but that's besides the point. He pretty much gives you what's going to show up on the tests right from the courseware/textbook and gives you lots of free marks. You can't say he isn't fair, you just have to practice the material and do some reading

You will not get a better prof then this guy. I took a class with him about 8 years ago, I came back to comment on this because he will teach you more then economics. You know he gets his questions from the study guide. Most profs get there questions from somewhere. Find out where! Practice those questions and understand the material. Youllaceever
He's pretty horrible, to be completely honest. A nice man with a good heart, but falls short when it comes to explaining concepts. He tells you what you need to know for the tests/quizzes and gives you an opportunity to do well in the class, but I found that even though I did very well, I didn't feel like a learned much of anything.
Great professor. I dont understand all the negativity towards him. He doesnt make you buy the book, but rather a cheap course ware (even though he published it better than $150 book). Tells you exactly whats on the test. Very open, honest, and kind heart. A+
ANY COURSE WITH HIM IS 12 ABLE
Khan really had a way of making relatively easy topics more complicated than they actually are. He seems like a great guy but his teaching skills are lacking. He speaks unclearly and his courseware is vague & has many mistakes. I paid good money for it, so I'd at least expect it to be proofread. He does give a lot of easy bonus quizzes though.
He's an O.K prof if you want to get a decent mark,bBut you will be teaching yourself the entire course. You will also be behind when you take the extension 2HH3 course. If you are actually interested in learning and being educated, he is a joke of a prof.
Dr. Khan is one of the few profs who really cares about his students. His courseware is really clear and concise, everything you need to do well in the course is in there. He doesn't just analyze things graphically, he does it algebraically too, to help you understand the language of economics.
Easy marks with tons of previous tests. His book is helpful in understanding the materials, but his lecture is a joke. Most ppl go to the class is just because of the bonus quizzes.
This professor is HIGHLY ideologically subversive. He essentially lays the course out as a defense of contemporary socialist economic policy. He is fraught with logical fallacy. Aside from this, he is funny and intelligent assist in instruction of class and obtaining high grades.

his courseware is whack. lots of spelling, grammar, math errors, and incongruent. not a good lecturer,but the sample tests make it an easy ride.
He is so easy just because he reuses his questions from the coursepack. No need to even read the notes. All my studying consisted of redoing and memorizing all of the previous quizzes and tests. I studied the day before and I got A-.I probably could have gotten higher if I tried harder or came to class (only came for the quizzes) but whatever :P.

Awesome Prof. Really cares about his students, and will take time to help you if you approach him with a question. Holds a pizza party at the end of the year for the entire class. I understood economics much better because of his class.

terrible course with a terrible prof. his lecture is useless as his courseware. the best advice is to drop his class as soon as possible. his accent and his poor clarity make most students hard to understand. REALLY REALLY TERRIBLE.
No need to go to classes, only need to read the courseware and do the practise quiz and tests, got A+

He is not a greater lecturer but his tests are pretty easy. His test questions are very similar to his practice questions in the course pack. Take his courses if you just care about a good grade rather than learning new content.

Terrible prof, hard to understand and doesnt have any notes or powerpoint slides. His courseware is full of errors.
There was no structure to his course, let alone his lectures. His courseware was full of errors and he was behind in his lectures. Lost a lot of quizzes, not to mention the amount of errors he made in recording our marks. Overall, too much work for a course I didn't learn anything from. Take it with another professor if you have to!!

In short: 1) Lectures are useless and boring 2) Courseware has a multitude of typos that confuse students trying to learn the math 3) He reuses questions from his courseware, yes, but he changes them 4) Work is easy but hard to understand properly, you may think you're right but you're actually wrong 5) His exams are brutally hard
Do not take his evening microeconomics class; poorly run class with terrible instruction.
If you get sick for a period of time and have to miss any classes you'll be screwed because his evening section has a quiz or test every week. His lectures are long and monotonous, involving him simply doing the math behind problems for two hours. He doesn't explain any sort of theory behind the work. He changed the exam format at the last minute

He is extremely hard to follow, the amount of mistakes in his courseware is copious, and the exam has nothing in common with midterms/courseware.
He is a terrible lecturer but his tests come from the courseware. So his poor teaching is reflected on the tests. he's not like other profs who suck and then butcher you on the exams. I want to have him again, if you study the courseware you'll get at least a 10

Not a great prof at all. SO disorganized. He knows his flaws (in terms of teaching style and not explaining well enough) but he refuses to fix the flaws. Some people do well in the course because he repeats questions from the test banks. I believe he has retired tho, so yay!
I am disgusted that McMaster is using my tuition money to be taught by individuals such as Mr. Rashid Khan (i don't respect him enough to call him Dr). The lectures were complete trash and full of mistakes, had to learn on your own anyway. My friends all left to social science and poetry due to their experience in this course.
Lectures were a mess, had to teach myself. Thankfully, Unstuck AI and other study tools really helped me prep for exams. Wouldn't take this class again.
