Hard and clear cut. Tries to make it understandable, but lecture can be dry. Once you get it, it's hard to forget.
no good. get the other econ teacher unless you like hell
She talks fast and makes the class more difficult than it should be. She is difficult to understand as well. Get the other econ teacher.
A tough class as far as DVC goes, but a good class to take if you are planning to transfer. (this class was nothing compared to some of my current classes at UCLA)

The other Econ profs are trash. If you wanna do anything with your life at all, learn from her.
Ms. Ramoo makes the material very hard to learn. She completely turned me off inr egards of Ecnomics. Ms. Ramoo does not seem to know how to teach, although she knows the material (she just can't explain it).
She is a very hard teacher. Do yourself a favor and don't take any of her classes.
Ratha Ramoo is one of the worst teachers I have ever had! She is incredibly stubborn if she makes a mistake or if a student is confused. Avoid her classes - she is awful!!!
Lazy (takes a long time to grade), stubborn (doesn't admit mistakes), and does not respect privacy (students grading each other's quizzes in class). Not enthusiatic or particularly intelligent.
You'll like her class if you actually want to learn something, she's very intelligent.
Extremely easy class (but 80% of the class dropped, so...). A little too much usage of abbreviations; some clarity problems. Online quizzes.
I actually enjoyed her class, and did learned a lot. One thing I liked is doing the homework online and that I didn't have to write any essays. If you don't like economics, don't take her class, but if you are serious about economics, her class is one of the best.
she is a horrible teacher who over does it on the homework and has an attitude
She's really smart, and can make a very confusing subject make sense. All you have to do is ask her a lot of questions, and make sure you know what you're asking. She does best when she can draw it out for you. I was impressed with her composure & knowledge.

She is not a good teacher. I was in her class every single session, and i learned practically nothing because she uses too many abreviations, she is very boring, and she doesnt care about her students. only take this class if you know a whole lot about economics when starting her class, and can pass the tests withough being there.
She was basically the worst teacher I ever had... becuz she didn't respond 2 emails fast enough 2 help us in time... when you ask her a question, she belittles you with her answers, & she overall recommends 4 you 2 drop the class instead of being helpful and encouraging like a teacher should be!! Highly NOT recommended & stuck up!!!
Very rude and unsupportive. Did not respond to questions asked, belittled people when responding to e-mails, and pretty much continuously tried to get people to drop the class. On her online class, we had 6 hours of homework per day. It was ridiculous. I am proud of the "C" I got in that class because I busted my ass for it.
Doesn't take comments/questions well, esp. when it comes to "typos."
She's an alright teacher, i don't like the fact that we have to do the online work, although its pretty easy and straight forward work its very expensive i've got over 120 in this class alone. there are 20 questions due every monday online and thats about it, if your pretty good in econ go for it i'm sure you'll do fine, but if your new or don't have any econ background i really don't think its the class for you, she's hard to understand and uses wierd symboling on the whiteboard
I have heard good things about her Macro, but Micro was tough. I thought of myself as an econ lover, but this made me realize that I do not enjoy micro, but macro is more interesting. She is tough, sometimes short tempered with questions, extremely disciplined, rigourous, but you also learn a whole bunch and she is extremely intelligent
Her hybrid class moves at a very rapid pace. she uses intimidation tactics to scare away lazy kids in the first few weeks. She provides you with more than enough information to understand concepts but you have to INVEST a LOT of time into reading it. She grades on a curve (88% is an A) and she can be very helpful if you show initiative and effort.
She's hard. Homework is easy if you take notes every class and pay attention. Tests are hard; 40+ MC and a 5 page handwritten problem solve/fill in. This class takes a lot of time and dedication. If you have nothing else to do but read economics then take the class. She's an alright teacher but if you juggle with work and other courses, think twice
(course taken online) The work isn't too hard. She really doesn't take well to corrections. She forgot to list a chapter online and wouldn't acknowledge that she did so. and when I asked about a homework question, she refused to consider it. the test grades came out and on one no one scored above and 88% and they aren't curved. avoid if possible
This class is very hard, especially online. The prof doesn't make it any easier. In the end, I feel that her grading was fair. I ended up with a C, but I worked very hard for it. Don't take this course unless you have a lot of time for studying hard and don't have much of anything else going on. 9 out of 17 people passed and about 10 dropped.
She is HARD! Make sure you fully understand the chapters before taking the quizzes because she does a lot of re-wording so that you know exactly what she is talking about.
Make students feel students feel stupid. "Do you understand?", she says that every two minutes. Makes nasty gestures to students that answer questions incorrectly.
This class was way harder than it needed to be. The techer treats evertone like they are stupid. I would avoid this class with this teacher as much as possible.
I did not like this class at all. I now hate economics becasue of this teacher I would avoid this teacher at all costs. The tests are much harder than they need to be.
She's not as bad as everyone says. But know before taking her class. If you're not interested in economics...you will have a rough time with her class. If you're interested in learning it, just make sure you understand everything in her study supplement which she wrote, and you'll do fine.
I was very suprised to find Ramoo had such a poor rating. Although she is EXTREMELY hard, she made the class very interesting, and is very clear and helpful. She is available plenty outside of class and in the meetings with her, she will go over whatever you dont understand, and help you until you understand it. Dont be afraid of her, she's great
This women has something to prove to the world. Very arrogent and thinks she is always right. She will belittle you if you try and question a theory. I have had some bad instructors, but never this bad. I'm suprised she's still teaching given the high drop rate in her classes. Someone in the Deans office must like her.
Come on, she is not that bad. She may be hard in DVC's level, but in terms of UCs and where I transferred, her classes are on the very easy side.
Micro Econ. I had to withdraw from this class, along with most of the rest of the class, she's very picky on her assignments, even takes points off if its not stapled. class are just lectures, very little class participation. you have to go to class, take extensive notes, read her supplement & text, and go to office hrs to get a decent grade.
Took her class and it was terrible! Most dry teacher i've ever had. Take B. Koller over her!
Very hard grader. She expects you to know and understand EVERTHING. No exceptions. She makes the tests, quizzes, and assignments as hard as possible. Def thinks she is always right - don't bother arguing with her.
She teaches her students clearly.. but sumtimes she gave tons of assignments.. especially when doing a classwork, we're only given 5-10 minutes to complete the worksheet.. *sigh* must sleep well and eat breakfast/lunch before going to her class.. =D
Arrogant is a good word to describe her. I enjoyed taking her micro/macro online, but it was very hard. I questioned many of her test/problem set questions and she even admitted to being wrong but she didn't always give you the points lost for her mistakes. I would take another professor if possible. If not, prepare to work very hard.
very hard grader but if u really want to learn something she is the best
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! Do not believe any positive comments that are on this website. She has a chip on her shoulder and makes numerous errors and really doesn't like them to be pointed out. She is not only a difficult teacher, but a difficult person.
She has some real personality problems. Arrogant, snotty, and rude. She will make you feel like an idiot for asking questions, does not encourage or appreciate dissenting opinions, and does not do a good job of explaining material. On top of that, her tests are more or less designed to trick you. DO NOT TAKE HER, YOU WILL REGRET IT.
The class is hard. You have to expect A LOT OF homework and you have to study REAL HARD if you want to get a good grade.
Don't even bother to take her! Ever! She is one of the worst teachers I've had, really unhelpful and snobby. Really discouraged me to get into economics.
DO not take her class, she is arrogant, will not assist in almost everything. Requires typed work in an econ class, no partial credit given on problems you either get them or not, one problem may consist of questions a-q!! As in 1a 1b 1c, any of those wrong the whole problem is wrong. Treats you like an idiot. Write the test questions for myeconlab
This teacher is ridiculous. She talks to everyone like we are stupid. She says "are you following me" every 5 seconds. She is very arrogant and rude. She thinks she is better than everyone else. She won't answer questions if you don't understand something and she looks at you like you are stupid. She is a horrible TEACHer.
Worse Econ teacher, makes you feel stupid for asking questions, her tests are all trick questions. everything is so similar you cant tell which is right or wrong. class average is 65%. That says something about the teacher and how it is taught and graded. Used the books and notes during test and still get a D on tests online.
This class is absolutely ridiculous. She treats it as if it were an upper division class. There is an excessive amount of work. This is the most boring class I've ever taken in my life. I strongly recommend you do NOT take her online class.
Hard to believe teacher is still there. This was the worst class I've taken at DVC. She is a nice lady but the explanations of the material just don't make logical sense. Also, I love econ and this class was just intolerable.
Had her for both Macro and Micro. There was a lot more work in Micro, but maybe it was because I took Macro over the summer (condensed course). She is very tough, and strict about you following rules. If you follow her rules and study very hard, you may do pretty well. I work full time and did ok. She is blunt in emails but pretty nice in person.
Do NOT take her, she not only has you take midterms in class and homework thats cool in my book but she has you do an online thing too with quizes and tests and more homeowrk. She just expects you to understand how the economy works, doesnt really teach you how it does work. She comes off nice but really her class is all about her
So this is a hard class and the teacher is slightly arrogant and demanding. However, I don't think it is that bad of trait to have. She is knowledgeable about the subject and expects the students to keep up with the work. Just accept that this is a difficult class and work your hardest, that way the grade you get at the end will be more rewarding.
Ramoo is a kind of teacher that wants everything to be perfect. If your line isn't straight she will mark points down. If you're off just a little bit she will mark points down. There are 5 way for you to earn your grade. Homework & Chapter Test on "MyEconLab", current events (a project), in class assignment, and midterm/finals. On MyEconLab homewo
Ramoo is a kind of teacher that wants everything to be perfect. If your line isn't straight she will mark points down. If you're off just a little bit she will mark points down. There are 5 way for you to earn your grade.
Ramoo is a terrible teacher. Her online class is impossible to pass. She takes pride in making the course as difficult as possible to stroke her ego--in knowing she is a "master" of economics. I hired an MBA in Econ to tutor me, she suggested I drop and take another teacher.
Terrible professor, test questions are all trick questions, takes pride in failing students--which in turn makes her feel like an elitest. This is my last lower division class and I drive 30 mins to Las Positas to re-take. Newsflash-- measuring deadweight loss and consumer benefit applies minimally to the real world.
WOW!~ She is the worst teaher in my life. Dont even get me started! I got a good grade, but WOWWWW!! I have no words for this one. You will probably not pass if you take her. <<<<<<AVOID AT ALL COST>>>>>>>
HORRIBLE, I took this class online during the summer because it was the only way I could take it. She was completely unresponsive to questions and her grading system is so convoluted that you pretty much just need to hope that you've got a decent grade. Her tests are badly written, the material sometimes isn't even in the text or the lecture notes.
By far the most ridiculous experience I've had at the college level. DO NOT take this course. I graduated from a top UC with a 3.7 and landed a Fulbright. Took this course before grad school. I managed an A, but barely. Ramoo does not listen, assumes the worst, and her tests are designed to trick, not test you. I pity my less-motivated classmates.
lol come on guys she's not that bad. I took her class last year and thought it was a bit challenging. Now I'm studying econ in Berkeley and compared to UCB, her class is just so easy as elmentary algebra. You will find her class helpful when you take intermediate lv econ in university. Study 4hrs every week and you will get an easy A.
Real life professor Snape. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. super strict and picky. hard grading for hw and tricky tests. Arrogant and snobby as if she was the best teacher but she is the opposite. WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!!
WORST TEACHER EVER. I suffered through her 220 summer class & passed, but I had unfortunately already signed up for 221 w/ her and all other classes were full by the time I realized how bad she was. Re-taking 221 w/ a diff teacher this coming Spring- so worht it. Grading system is RIDICULOUS, tests don't reflect the hw material and are super hard.
I have had great professors at DVC, Ramoo is the worst teacher I have ever had. You probably won't learn much about Econ because you will be stressed about passing the class. Simply put, Ramoo is a miserable person. Excuse my language but if you take her after reading this, you deserve to fail.
Not a bad teacher. Can be kind of hard at times but if you just read and follow along the class isn't hard. she can be mean though when it comes to talking in class. she will tear you a new one if you do.
Id recommend taking a course taught by another professor. Her lectures are awful/boring and she is very snobby. not to mention she has one of the most annoying accents i have ever heard in my life. She is also very reluctant to help students and will not take time to explain things in class if a student needs help understanding.
FYI Ramoo is an Indian lady that's about 4'8". She speaks with an accent that distracts me and I feel she is a snob. She shoots you down if you ask what she thinks is a dumb question and she uses unnecessarily big words to describe things that are actually simple, leaving you in a whirlwind of confusion and anger. "Can you undastand?"
I think she is a smart lady and she really understands her subject. Can be strict sometimes regarding homeworks. Her exams and tests are quite challenging as well. She's very helpful though, she is very responsive to e-mails and she discusses questions in class. If your major is economics, take her class, if you're taking econ just for GE, dont.
Horrible teacher. She doesn't teach and do not believe the econ majors/ kids with no life. They all got a good grade because they dedicated most of their time to only this class. I took her real class but she surprised me by essentially running it as an online class. Doesn't present the info clearly, and is arrogant and annoying above anything else
Ramoo is probably my least favorite person in the entire galactical universe. I got a good grade in the class, so to those people giving her a good review and thinking youre too legit to quit....youre not and you should acknowledge that she is not helpful, not clear, and is a horrible teacher. take the class if you want to hate your life
I've had some bad teachers at Dvc in my day, however, she is by far the worst. The class is basically taught by Aplia(the online course you must purchase for 90$) not her, and homework has little or no relation to the tests that you take online and in class. Do yourself a favor... do not take this course if you enjoy occasional free time.
Along with everybody else here I agree that this is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. How she is still teaching is beyond me. She doesn't explain the material well or actually teach(the online course does that), acts arrogant and demeans students with her attitude and has extremely hard tests and quizzes that don't reflect what's in the HW
She is the best teacher I have ever had in DVC. She is really helpful. If you think she is a hard teacher, maybe because you don't understand her personality. But if you come to her office hour, she will answer all your question.
I understand why others have said that her personality is harsh, she does snap at students a lot especially if they answer incorrectly. However, it is a very hard course and I feel as though the way she teaches really helped me understand the material. You just have to pay attention because she gives good examples and truly does want you to succeed
Extremely hard. The material is hard, that's ok, I knew it and I wanted to study econ. But her workbook is even harder, covers more materials, what for? Exams are hard too. Take this class if you are planing to take 3 units only in one semester.
TERRIBLE! You will spend all your time studying and still ending up baffled during the tests, even when they're online and open-book. Hardest class Ive taken at DVC. Find another econ teacher and save yourself the struggle and stress for a semester.
Shoddy! Inflexible test days, vague/poorly written workbook and test questions (another econ teacher who helped me got 3 out of 5 questions wrong), and Ms. Ramoo's defensiveness led to my "above and beyond effort" for a grade of B, and an almost defeated purpose of taking a class online. Ms. Ramoo's answers made me stop asking questions.
Overall average marks. Not great, not bad.She helped me out because I was having a lot of trouble, and she gets high marks for that. She also allowed me to add the class late. She doesn't fool around, and gives you constant status updates on your grade which is also helpful. The content is hard, some of the questions are confusing. That's my complaint.
i thought this class was so hard, i get A's in all my other classes with B effort but im struggling to get a C. you have to devote a lot of time to get a good grade. and expects a lot from you cuz she doesnt teach everything in class. tests are hard too
Unfortunately this is one of the worst classes I have ever taken. The tests are incredibly difficult. I would devote about eight hours to preparing for an exam and still barely pass. I highly recommend if you want to not only pass, but actually learn econ, you take another teacher at all costs.
Literally the WORST teacher ever. Took her three week hybrid class and dropped after the first week. I took this class over the summer and usually I get all A's but with this one I was going to get a C so I dropped it. DON'T TAKE HER SHE'S AWFUL!!
I have rated a professor before but Ms. Ramoo is such a bad teacher I had to do it. I have been a straight A student throughout my life, always known my subjects and got awesome result at very difficult classes. Yet Ramoo confused me, gave me wrong definitions, and made the test extremely hard. Not worth the time or the money at all.
Until Ramoo I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. Not because I take easy classes, but because I am dedicated to studying, learning the material, and succeeding. However this class derailed me. I put all my effort into this class, and did alright on home works and pre-tests, but actuall tests were nothing like the prep. I seriously regret this course.
Honestly. Don't take this class. It is impossibly hard I have no idea how i passed... DO NOT TAKE IT especially if you're a business major, because even though i got a B- I can't say i learned enough to take more courses!
She is very knowledgeable about the subject, I can give her that. But like most of the raters here,I always get As but this class is just impossible...She doesn't provide enough resources that goes with the level of her tests...The only thing I liked about this class was that attendance wasn't mandatory.
Hybrid course. This professor was not helpful whatsoever. Her mandatory "study guide" that she put together was beyond atrocious. Chapters did not correlate with the book, and the pages weren't in order. $40 for a non-study guide. Ridiculous! Work the Pearson study plan and download the publisher's study guide for free with book/code purchase.
Terrible! Don't take her, especially online! You can get through the HW, struggling and it's graded based off of accuracy! HW is 40-50 questions a night! She doesn't even bother to post any of her own materials or lectures! Tests are extremely hard and don't correlate with the book! I basically learned nothing...
She knows her stuffs, but homework, quiz and exam are just too hard. You can't find everything on textbook. If you want to do well in her class, make sure you read the book plus do lots of research on internet.
Do not recommend unless econ comes really easy to you. Yes, online classes depend all of how much effort YOU put in but hope, this class was a huge struggle. I read and reread the text but it requires a ton of researching on your own. Dropped it because it's not worth the GPA damage.
Class was a nightmare! The online pearson program constantly was down and had issue, tests where only on sundays, and the professor was very distant and gave little feed back.
Great online course. Well defined and good online lectures. You will work for your grade, but you will feel like you learned something at the end. Homework can be intense, but if you have any issues she responds very quickly. Tests are hard, if you get an A, congrats.
As an engineering degree holder from the UC system, I am very grateful for professors like Dr. Ramoo. Her level of rigor is appropriate for people who are interested in learning the material and not just coasting through the community college system. I would highly recommend her for people who intend to transfer to a UC or CSU.
online class through aplia, 2 assignments a week, probably 1 hr of work (for me) a week. 6 tests (1 dropped), 2 exams. reviews were posted before every test. responded to emails quickly. posted my final grade quickly (huge plus). advice to the reader: don't take a subject like econ online unless you know you will be able to "get it" on your own.
I'm usually a 3.5-4.0 student and I did not pass this class. I took an online class and everything was through the Aplia site. The main book and the actual testshomework don't match up. Get ready to do a lot of independent research! I spent hours on the material and still didn't pass. And not a single lecture from the teacher the entire semester.
Hardest class i have taken, the online class was hard. I read and reread the book and online and some questions on homework and test are still so hard and understandable. Drop the class not worth losing my 3.9 GPA. You had to do assignments all 7 days a week so expect that.
Extremely challenging class with little help & insight from the professor. There's lengthy homework assignments every day, including weekends & tests every week - which are nearly impossible. All test averages for the class were extremely low - says a lot about her as a teacher. Good luck!
The online class is horrible. Homework and assingments 7 days a week. Not enough help from the teacher, all class test scores were low so that says alot about the teacher and class. Would never take again the same professor. dropped the class Not worth lossing my GPA. Good luck everyone
The online class is horrible. Homework and assingments 7 days a week. Not worth loosing gpa
WORST professor ever. She forgot the first test was password protected, didn't fix until 3pm (due at 11) Last test she forgot to even upload until 1pm. Test material not from book. Class AVERAGE test score was around 60%. Disorganized, yet chided students for not being responsible. Not helpful at all, if you can even get her to respond. STAY AWAY.
Awful, awful online class UI structure. E-text was terrible to find answers, HW was strict and easy to fail, and tests were hard because HW wasn't clear. Teacher is nonexistent. If you like working by yourself, figuring out the class on your own, take this. If you need hands on help and easy access to asking questions, do not take this class.
Taking this class will ruin your GPA!! The tests are ridiculously too short, class average was low and still not curve. Project in online was never works out well. Hard grader, a ton of homework. She is smart yet expects you to know everything, even material not in the book. Tests and hw have material not in the book. I wouldn't recommend!
Worst professor I have ever experienced or heard of. The one positive: she's quick to respond to emails, but her responses are extremely rude and unprofessional. Class averages on assignments/ tests are in the failing range, yet she won't curve, stating "you clearly all need to work harder." NO respect for students, extremely unhelpful. STAY AWAY!!
Absolutely garbage teacher. Online means it's basically self taught with her. Feedback and grading on the group project was a 180 degree contradiction from the instructions, so you fail the project no matter what you do. Tests are very hard. She makes it nearly impossible to pass and is very rude if you ask for help. Took everything I had for a C
I took both of her econ classes at the same time and her micro class is easier than macro. The midterms are extremely difficult and it's important to have your textbook handy. Try to avoid her class
Took her class because I needed it. I would take her again. Worst instructor I have had.
interesting classes
This instructor is incredibly dismissive, abrasive, and rude to her students. I'm an adult going back to college to learn and would like to be treated as an adult not a nuisance that is below her level of intelligence.
You have to be familiar with the content, or you won't pass. Its ALL self-taught. There's two assignments/week and lots of self-studying inbetween. If you are good at econ and decently know the stuff, take the class. All she does is summarize a chapter in one email to you. P.S. Dont buy her book.
Took her online Econ course this fall semester and I wish I had dropped. Incredibly difficult. SO MUCH HOMEWORK! 2 assignments due each week, Pearson online homework was 70-80 questions per assignment! She expects too much of her students. She did respond to my emails promptly, though. Look forward to retaking the course w/ a different prof.
Econ is one of those classes that you either get or you don't. I took this class over summer and ended with a B even though I put in hours a week. It is really not that hard to pass this class as long as you do the hw and study. It is no easier or harder than any 4 year university econ class.
Prepare to teach yourself the entire class. No lectures, No Notes, No guidance on problems. Emails you about your lack of knowledge & what to do this week. When the class average is 60% you know the instructor lacks support and concern. Depends on Aplia to provide materials. Exams notes are irrelevant. Too many questions each exam. 30hrs a weekB
She does not use Canvas, used entirely online textbook service. I did not use the workbook. No Projects, group work, or discussion which is a plus. Expect to read a lot.
Worst Educator ever!! Words to describe her: arrogant, condescending, rude, uncommunicative, unhelpful, disrespectful, unreasonable, rigid. I'm not sure why she "teaches", it is clearly not her strength. Anything you learn you'll have to teach yourself, she doesn't help. Stay away from this Professor!!
This class is going terribly. I am a 1/4 of the way through the semester and this is by far the hardest class I've taken, MIND YOU I'VE GONE TO SFSU as well! She has homework due on Wednesday's and Sunday's. If you don't have the textbook you won't pass at all, just cause you have to teach yourself everything. Lecture notes textbook glossary
One month into the semester & I regret taking her class. I am a full time at a university as well & the amount of work she assigns surpasses those courses collectively! HW is due 2x's per/ week and can take up to 4 hours to do the reading and answer questions. Avoid her if you can. She is rude & doesn't teach at all & expects you to know everything
Despite taking her online, from the few times I emailed her with questions, she was incredibly rude. The thing that plummeted my grade the most this semester was her group discussions. I got a C and F on the 2 we had. She has extra credit opportunities that can raise your grade 3%. The online homework and reading takes forever, but it's doable.
2 chapters due every week, 30-90 questions p/learnsmart ex 50-80 homework questions. Material not based in online book, emails only for class averages and how we need to work harder. Doesnt teach, class all self-taught. Heavy workload for those taking harder classes and/or working. Heavy grades on test/homework, basically like a pass or fail class
Very disappointed by this teacher. She offers little in the way of teaching and a lot in rude criticism of her students. She comes across as very unprofessional and seems to have little understanding of how to respect her students. I'd stay away, there are many better Econ teachers and many better online teachers.
Her class was extremely hard, there's so much reading even after reading its not clear. You'll have to take that class on its own to have time to do all. Average grade received on Exams are a D, wonder why.
This class is a horrible. We have gone from 40 students to 22 and the semester is about halfway through. The class average for our exams was a D, got a very rude reply when giving feedback she ASKED for. All of her classes clearly have low exam averages and high dropped rates but she takes no responsibility. I haven't dropped a class until now.
Very hard class, but an awesome teacher. She's very fair and puts all grading criteria in the syllabus. I've taken classes with her twice and been pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend this professor.
PLEASE JUST AVOID THIS CLASS. I cursed every single time I took quizzes and exams. Each quiz and exam contains more than 60 questions. hard as hell.
I can't even begin to express my frustration with this professor and her online class. Shes another example of a low-effort, copy-paste online prof who does little to suplement the McGraw-Hill content that she's sent. The homework is labor-intensive, tests are confusingly worded, and her feedback is almost negative in tone. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I am taking her online micro class this semester and it's been a horrible experience. Keep in mind this is an online, CC level 200 class and she treats it like this is the most important class in the world and you need to dedicate at least 12 per week. The class is confusing and unflexible. She is very unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.
I take this fast-track, 8 ONLINE week class. Class is VERY HEAVY: 2 chapter reading, 1 quiz ( 2 attempts, about 50 questions, no timing), and 1 Discussion each week (explain one question in the quiz, and 1 theory in the chapter). There will be 2 exams ( 72 questions in 120 mins for each exam). 1 Comprehension exam (optional). She expects a lot.
This is one of the hardest classes I've taken at DVC. The test average would be a C. Although, she allows a second attempt on My Connect Homework but they are very long up to 50+ questions. This is definitely not an Easy A class but at least you will pass if you do all the homework and pass all 3 Exams.
She ISN'T rude/awful & responds to emails & states what's expected in syllabus. I did it online using McGraw Hill Learning. I'm an A student & had to take P for this class due to difficulty. It's difficult since you get 2 attempts on hw where can't check each problem b4 submit; nearly impossible to get 100% in hw. Tests r hard due to ?'s wording.
I took the online class for Econ 220 over the summer of 2019. She mainly graded based on a bunch of quizzes and tests but they were fairly easy questions that were either in the homework or can be found on quizlets. Yeah, it was a tough class that took up a LOT of time but it's fairly easy to get an A in as long as you do the HW.
Professor Ramoo is one of the hardest professors at DVC. Her Economics class at DVC feels like a Grad school Economics class at UC Berkeley. Don't take her class or you will regret it. She easily turns her students down and has extremely high expectations for her students.
