I took both sections of Bio with him and got a B withouth much effort.

He's okay you have alot of chances to get extra credit which is fine with me!

Students seem to have a misconception of this professor. At first he seems standoffish;however, if you show intrest and make it to class daily you will pass. He gives more pionts during the second half of semester and most students weed themselves out, but for those who stay make good grades. I ended up with a B but that was my fault.

This class is the reason that I am now persuing a career in biology. The class is difficult due to the fact that you do have to actually READ the chapters since he does not just hand out A's like many professors do. If you make an attempt to do well in this class, you will, but it is entirely up to you. I never did worse than a 90 on any exams..

Great teacher. Although somewhat strict, his lectures were always very interesting and understandable. Quizzes and tests are easy if you just pay attention and take notes in class. I recommend him to anyone taking Biology.

Disregard previous comments this professor is just doing his job. He gives enough time to study and does explain; however, you really need to study he just wants you to learn. My piece of advice is if you are in school to complain do not take this class, but if you really want to learn then take Mr. Galvan. Treats male or female equally.

GREAT TEACHER

Lets admit bio is not easy but this Sir makes lessons interesting. He might be one of the easiest to take bio. All he wants is for students to learn. I really learned and work hard to get my B, he gives extra credit. One thing that he didn't had to do. Take him you won't regret it!!!

Great teacher. On the first day I thought he would be hard but the only thing that was sort of difficult was comprehending the online questions everything else was a piece of cake. He asks students questions during class just to see if they understand and if they're paying attention. He gives plenty of extra credit. Got an A!

Good professor, you really have to study if you want a good grade! Make sure you read the chapters he goes over and understand them.

Took online course. the work itself was alright just got to keep up with all his discussions, quizzes, labs and interactive site was a pain. Got a B, didnt put that much effort into it so it was okay, just very time consuming

Took Bio II online with Galvan. Easy to receive an A if you keep up with the assignments, but they pile up at the end of every week if they don't get done within the module week. Offers extra credits quizzes for each chapter. Overall easy class if you like working on your own without any help.

You gotta be dumb not to pass his class! Everything is done online but if you READ and do ALL the homework you'll be fine. I learned a lot in his class and had fun as well!!! Great professor, I got an A

Mr. Galvan gives you everything you need in the syllabus. There is a lot of work but it's not really hard if you take the time. I took this course online and I would do it again.

I needed help and Mr. Galvan personally called me to explain what I was having trouble with, he clarified everything for me. Mr. Galvan is very clear in his introduction that you need to stay on top of the assignments, if you do this you can do very well in this class. He is a fair instructor.

Mr. Galvan was a great teacher, but you have to work for your grade. Take this class in the summer its a lot easier. Must show up to class and you have to read a bit. If you fail a test it's OK because he gives TONS of extra credit. If you want an east A don't take, does require work. Would take again in a heart beat.

I recommend taking Mr. Galvan! He's a great teacher and you really learn from this guy! Very intelligent person he knows what he's talking about! 10/10 I recommend taking him!!!!!!

Mr. Galvan is a fair grader and tries to make sure that the class is following along. He gave us an option of either 4 long tests or 8 short tests (halves what you need to study). He also gives students 50 points just for attending class (out of a 1000 point scale). Do not expect to pass if you slack off or don't attend his class.

The lectures are good, he uses real life examples which makes the lecture interesting. He doesn't bore, but everyone must participate. The only bad thing is he'll call you out if you don't know the answer. There's a bunch of tests

Mr. Galvan is one of the nicest and most caring professors. I took him for both BIO1406 ,1407 including the labs. He always tried hard to answer all of our questions and did everything for us to understand the content. Although his class was demanding everything he does is for the students to actually learn. Im so glad I took Bio with him

Professor Galvan is one of the best professors I have ever taken and I am so grateful for his teaching style. He also has a great sense of (dark) humor. Be warned: Professor Galvan is not an easy A professor, and he does call people out, but it's only because he wants you to learn the material. Would I take him again? Absolutely!

Dr. Galvan is one of the most caring professors I have yet to meet. He was always on top of his students because he wants everyone to succeed. He has a dark sense of humor that I loved! His exams are easy if you study, don't expect to get a good grade if you don't put in the work! As a DEMSA student he made my time at STC fun!

Mr. Galvan is one of the best biology professors I've had. I really appreciate the way he taught because he only taught us what we needed. Although he can be pretty strict, he's only like that because he truly wants the best for us. If you do your assignments on time, you will pass. Most of these reviews do not reflect how his class was.

Super good professor no clue why his reviews are so bad. As long as you pay attention during lectures you will be fine & probably get an A. Super helpful when having trouble on any assignment a lot of extra credit. Don't be stressed over the bad reviews most of them are not accurate. His teaching style is good. Good professor for DEMSA students!!

I absolutely loved having Mr. Galvan as my BIOL 1407 this semester. I took him from June 5th to July 7th and all I can say is that he is an absolutely amazing professor and overall person. His lectures are clear, his grading criteria is clear and he will work with you as long as you also put in your part.

The ratings on this professor are a little misleading. I really liked this class, and he made the lessons very easy to understand. He prepared us for all of our lab test, and he always provided extra credit.

Contrary to popular belief amongst some former students who were unsuccessful in their attempts, Professor Galvan is committed to helping students succeed, assuming that students carry out their due diligence—as students, they are.

Class is an easy A if you study, review and prepare for exams using the notes taken during lecture. Attendance is mandatory so always make time to attend. Not a lot of homework, easy assignments!

Be prepared for him to push you right from the start. If you're looking for an easy A, this might not be the right choice. With all that said, he for sure is the best professor i ever had and i am very much thankful to have had him as a professor. P.S. Just while presenting your PowerPoint don't tell the audience they should shower.
