really great teacher; is very helpful and will spend as much time as you need
Hard to understand at times, but patient and willing to help if you ask questions in class, office hours, or after class. Relatively straighforward tests. You will need to study to do well.
Very helpful but also hard to understand at times. She likes to stare. Sometimes she makes things even more confusing.
If you get to know her, she is really nice. She will make her way to help you out. Yes, she is hard to understand. Other wise she is a really good teacher.
She has an accent but not too hard to understand. She's really patient and will try to help you succeed in her class.
she does have an accent, but it's not too bad. in my class, all you had to do was turn in 2 hw assignments, take 1 midterm, and the final. it wasn't that bad. i would highly suggest her.
I liked her! She's really nice. So nice, she pays out of her own pocket in order to print out notes for us. Tests are okay if you studied. Lectures are sometimes boring, but overall, I would recommend her
she is really nice and expains the material thouroughly. I would highly recomend her.
She's really nice and helpful and wants you to actually learn. All her tests and quizzes are easy as long as you study and try. I thought her classes were easy. HIGHLY recommended.
very easy teacher. i finished with near perfect grade. sometimes can be a little hard to understand, but trys hard to explain things. work can be easily made up too. tests are always given a clear overview before. overall i highly recommend her.
great teacher. genuinely wants to help you learn the material and has a VERY GOOD curve. its almost impossible to fail. very clear on what material will be on the test and the exams themseleves just need a little studying the night before. take her class.
she is one of the best teachers at deanza. She cares about everybody in the class and explains everything over and over again to make sure everybody gets it. But sometimes she explains too many times.
Ravjeet is a GREAT TEACHER! Totally dedicated to her job, willing to go the extra mile for the student. 2000-2500 word eassay is a little tough unless you devote a lot time to the understanding of econ.
Sometimes she is disorganized but she is nice. Compare to other econ teachers her materials are relatively easy. Just ask her whenever you are confused and she will be helping you even individually.
out of all the econ teachers at deanza shes the best. one midterm, final and 3 mc quizes, no more essay, shes willing to help you if you need it, just show up to class and u'll at least get a B
Too easy. I was doing homework for other classes on her class, and have an A. You don't have to sweat for a good grade - grade A is 85%
Nice teacher and shes approachable
She has done a good job.
good prof. teaches you outside the scope of the book. grade based mostly on final. she is willing to help if you need it. quizzes are m/c. final and midterm are m/c, t/f, and question problems. tests are reasonable. if taking 2 hr classes, gives a break inbetween.
By far the sweetist teacher on Deanza Campus. Although her lectures tend to be long and sometimes dull, she is by far the eaiest economics teacher. God Bless her soul for teaching at this campus. WAY TO GO MRS. SINGH!!
One of the best econ teachers at De Anza. She's nice, and she always likes to help. I decide to take her econ 1 the coming quarter.
easy..
a great teacher with no doubt. give clear and easy understood lecture and thorough explaination on evey topic. always willing ot help students and answer their questions. most of the tests came from the lectures. so be sure no to skip classes and take good notes.not too hard on grading as long as u study.
Really nice teacher
I would say shes a good professor!!! all her questions and problems on the test are PREDICTABLE. If u can read the textbook and take some notes, this would be an EASY A class. Another thing is that shes really nice ( helpful). She can help u out when u have questions!!!
Although she may have a strong accent, she is one of the BEST ECON teachers at DeAnza. She is very thorough in her explanations and all you have to do is take notes and review them. Her quizzes can sometimes be tricky, but it sometimes means you need to study more!
I took her last quarter for econ 1 & now I'm taking her for econ 2. She is a real good teacher and if you take notes, come to class, then you'll pass w/an A. You don't even have to get the book if your there to pay attention in class. For the final she lets you use a page of notes! She barely has an accent but it's good excuse for all who failed!!
her class is relatively easy if u pay attention to her lectures. At times they are boring, but its helpful and useful to the exams. Shes funny just to look at some times when she is trying to give examples but shes good at what she does. recommend to ppl who wants a good grade.
I know that ppl r really positive about her but I feel that she lacks clarity. She has a very strong accent, and her teaching style is not very comprehensive. However, she is not horrible, but not very good!!!
She is very nice and helpful. She really wants her students to do well in her class, you can tell by how hard she goes over with things in class. Although she has a strong accent, she is very descriptive and detailed in her lecture; might not be good examples, almost tidieous at times, but she is teaches well. Easy grade class.
i got a big fat A in the class, and it wasn't hard; my only concern is that her lectures are really here and there, if you know what i mean. if you listen mildly and take notes, you can pick up all you need to get an A, but the process is painstaking, confusing, and disorienting. if it's summer and you're taking it at 7:30 you'll get alot of sleep
Really nice teacher, who tries really hard to explain complex material through in class scenarios. Sometimes it's hard to follow her, but she will answer any questions you may have and she is enthustiastic about the material. Tests are really hard, essay type questions, that's the only down side. She was fair and knowledgeable.
If you attend every class and take notes, this class is a breeze. Only a couple, very short HW assignments. Lectures clearly and thoroughly so the book is rarely needed. Tests are straightforward and easy. Highly recommended. HOWEVER, she does have a strong accent so if you're an international student you may have difficulty understanding her.
took econ1&2, A's on both. she writes what she says on the overhead, easy to follow. marks attendance, about 4 easy mult. choice HWs (only sees if you completed them), 2 midterms, and 1 final. all are multiple choice and sometimes short answer and ARE VERY BASED ON NOTES!! tells you test topics before. ACCENT isn't BAD at all, you get used to it!
singh is reli nice, understand the subject well, give good examples to make the class fun and learn, she is a very helpful teacher, willing to help u anytime u got questions.
It is not easy if you don't have some friends who had taken her before. coz her test is not that easy. But no hw is good for lazy guy. her lecture is quite boring but she is funny though. She makes joke in another way!
It should be easy...a nice lady
take this class if you need econ as a G.E because u probably dont learn much from the teacher. also be prepare to stay awake if u take this class in the afternoon. the class isnt hard, but this is a typical type of class that u learn more from reading book than taking notes. the good thing is that Mrs. Singh is a really nice and friendly
Not a hard class- interesting topic..She tries hard and makes herself available to students, fair grading, but lectures seem quite disorganized. More often I was confused in class, came home and read the book and completely understood. I would recommend her if you don't mind reading.
This teacher is not hard as long as you have past paper. The almost only reasons for people to get As is the past paper as she doesnt even change her exam... what a loser. YES PEOPLE GET As BECAUSE OF PAST PAPER.
She is not so clear in explaining concepts. Past papers may help only for those who are not capable to grasp economic concepts. If you don't mind reading, easy A she is. If you are not confident, join the adjunct skills so as to get 4% extra credit. Btw, she is nice.
easy class, but the class is sometimes confusing . she is not good at explaining concepts
this class is very easy; i did not have past paper, what i did is just take notes and read the textbook, and i got A+
amazing teacher! i love her incorrect use of the 'air quotes' its cute, she air quotes everything. you get used to it, not annoying at all. its easy to ask her questions, she doesnt give up until you understand, very helpful! tests strangely easier than quizzes, lots of extra credit given. accent= easy to understand she applauds good work :)
Fantastic professor! Makes class fun and enjoyable. You can learn a lot without really working that hard with the way she teaches, very clear and extremely good at answering questions and discussing things until everyone understands. She has a wonderful daily attitude.
She's a nice teacher. but quizes / tests are really hard...
WOW. that's all i have to say. great teacher, easy class. you cant take it with anyone else, really. if you just pay attention in class 50% of the time (she repeats a lot), then you will get an A.
wow. definitely one of the hardest classes i have taken at de anza. BUT i was utterly surprised to receive an "A" in the class. for the research paper, i totally BSed it and had NO CLUE what i was doing, but i must have received full credit on it to get an A. i'm still shocked, and it ended 3 months ago. she gives lots of excred so i'd recomend her
This Prof is VERY organized. she posts her notes and what is on the exams for her students. a very great prof who makes sure her students understand the materials. a typical "work hard" and you'll pass class. she is a very great professor, i will be taking her again!
Talks too fast. Makes things overly complicated. Slides are disorganized (she makes them up on the spot) and her writing on the projector is messy. Goes off topic on stuff you don't need to know for the exams. Class feels rushed (even if its 3 hours long!) Would have gotten more out if I spent the 3 hours reading the textbook.
Very helpful professor. Wants you to learn and understand subject. Has funny way of making her lecture/ examples relatable but it works. Didn't use the book much. Take good notes in class and come to every class. She types up notes while in class so it's clear for you to copy what she's writing. EVERYTHING she lectures about will be on quizzes/exams including your notes! Great person! Enjoyed her class. Easy A.
she's an amazing teacher and person, she knows the material very well, she puts a lot of energy to make it easy and understandable, when I was taking her class,I had a family matter, I went to Lebanon for 20 days and came back for the final, she spent so many hours helping me and i got an A, easy class if you take notes and study.take her...
Prof. Singh's class is easy. She gives out not few extra credit. Besides, she is an easy grader for the essay. For final, you can bring a page of notes, so easy A
She's nice to some, indifferent to most. Very little hw. Even less than mediocre profs are more helpful than her. Emailed her, went to office hrs. Gives me vague answers or does not answer the question even after I try to ask it like 5 diff ways. Usually runs out of time in 2-hr classes due to her rambling. She seems nice up until a few weeks in.
Shes nice but is not a very good teacher. she assigns very little hw and her quizzes and tests are mainly lecture based. her clarity is bad because her accent is thick at times and she talks really fast so you need to write or type your notes fast. she has 2 quizzes = 20% of grade, 1 test = 25%, final = 35%, and an essay = 10% of your grade
Nice teacher
She's a fair teacher. Barely any accent for an Indian prof. God knows what the other person who commented smoking. Something wrong with his/her ears. Assigns very little extra credit but it's worth it. You do have to attend the lecture. Don't be lazy, she's chill. Extremely helpful. Extends the deadlines too sometimes. Fair grader...
Professor Singh is a great teacher! I've had her for both, Econ 1 and Econ 2, and she is seriously so enlightening. She is extremely passionate about economics and it's evident through her lectures and examples. She wants everyone to do well and is very helpful. Her tests aren't too bad! Just study, pay attention, and get help if needed. Not hard!
She's easy and teaches at a well rated pace. Don't be stupid and copy other people's 1 sheet of notes for the final exam (like some dumb ladies did today)... She checks your paperwork. If she's letting you use 1 sheet of notes on the final then put some effort into it rather than just copying the work that our class didn't even do. Be smart..
Great teacher. Very fair, very flexible, very reasonable, clear, and understanding. The best econ prof at De Anza!
Take notes during lectures, 2 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 Final, 1 Essay. some extra credit. there is online hw, but its not bad, you have 3 chances to get 100% if you ask for help she will explain it to you. good efficient teacher overall, she uses a lot of examples to explain.
She really tried to make her students motivated and enjoyed her lectures. Her lectures are very clear and she used a lot of real life examples which is a good thing. It's an easy class as long as you listen to her lectures and do all the things she asks. Extra credit 2% of your grade by just attending workshops. Take her!
Although she is a very nice teacher and wants students to do well, her lectures are extremely boring and also very disorganized. Her quizzes and tests are okay, you'll do fine if you studied beforehand.
I enjoyed the class but sometimes it does get boring. The quizes/test are okay and if you study, go to class and do your hw you should be fine!
She is the best Econ instructor at De Anza, she is very helpful and clear. she seems a little though at the beginning of the quarter but she gives a lot of bonus points. as long as you go to the class and pay %100 attention and take note you'll do good. most of her test is rely on notes in the class. RECOMMENDED.
you have to take her!! she is the best! her lectures are clear and she gives you a review before every quiz/midterm and lets you use a page of notes in the final too :) She really wants the students to succeed and will go out of her way to help you if you have any question. Super higly recommended! I got an A, am sure you wil too :-)
Was intimidated by her at first, but she's one of those teachers that gives you "tough love". Likes participation and will ask for it. I didn't understand her lectures very well, seems like a lot of other reviewers think she's clear but I didn't think so. Anyhow, she's very caring & knows what she's talking about. No idea how I managed an A though!
Previously took her ECON 1 last year - and found her ECON 2 class MUCH better. No mandatory forum posts although her class is still a bit boring and disorganized. TONS of extra credit - TAKE ADVANTAGE of that. Quizzes and tests are easy if you know what to study. 2 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 essay, and final exam. She wants everyone to do well!
Really easy if you attend class. Her quizzes and midterms are based on online homework and lecture notes. A lot of this class is straightforward so if you study a bit and pay attention in class, you'll have no problem getting an A. No tricks in this class, and there is also extra credit. Very doable class for everyone.
Pretty easy class overall, I ended up with an A. The online hw is the best way to study for tests, along with notes from the lecture. I wish I didn't buy the textbook though, I never used it and it's the loose-leaf kind that is worth nothing once you open it. :( Professor Singh herself is very nice and spunky, however. :)
She is one of the best teachers I've ever taken. Her lectures are pretty clear. Midterm and quizzes are based on her lecture and online homework. I got an A+ in her class. Highly recommended!
She is herself very nice. Awesome teacher I have ever met in my life. She usually can be disorgnized in class but you can follow her. She is helpful during office hours. I will miss her because she is so nice. Thank you Singh.
THIS IS NOT HIGH SCHOOL ECONOMICS. Good teacher, for me personally, I just couldn't follow her lectures.I didn't use the textbook, but you need My Econ lab(just buy the access code).Do the HW, Forums, essay & try on the quizzes and midterms (these things will save you in the end)
TAKE THIS CLASS AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TUTOR WORKSHOP ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE CLASS ONCE A WEEK. You get extra credit and the tutors are extremely helpful. 2 quizzes are closed book/note & midterm/final open notes. She is a great instructor and is heavily verbal during her lectures. I landed a B+ in course. COMPLETE STUDY GUIDES & YOU'LL DO FINE
she was disorganized in lectures. talks really fast. you have to do the reading to get an a or b! one midterm, 2 quizes, one essay, and one final.
great teacher
She talks really fast during lectures. You have to pay real close attention to know what is happening. She is a good teacher she just needs to slow down when talking. Essay is hard. I failed and many others did as well.
She lectures pretty fast and sometimes the way she explains things is not clear. Hw is easy, she also gives bonus points throughout the quarter. Quizzes and midterm come from the homework and she also gives practice tests/quizzes beforehand. She's really helpful during office hours!
This is a extremely boring class if you do not find economics interesting it's not that hard of a class or anything like that just bored me out of my skull
She is a very nice teacher and would always repeat the same thing for about 2-3 times to help you understand. Her quizzes, mid-terms and final would be manageable if you study. I definitely recommend all of you to take her class as she's not only clear in her teaching, her papers are manageable too.
Very nice. She tries to make the subject interesting and keeps the class engaged with jokes and anecdotes. She gives study guides for every quiz/exam. HW online through MyEconLab (you can go back and study online too). Mixes in a few writing assignments too. Great professor and highly recommended.
She talks really fast and her lectures aren't that clear, so take lots of notes. She gives you study guides. Very organized, but sometimes unclear in her directions, such as the online forums. Her quizzes are okay, but her midterm was hard. READ the BOOK, and take lots of notes during lectures because sometimes half the test is on lectures.
She has lot of works to do!she talks so fast in class. Her instructions on the essays are weird.
She's the first teacher i meet to read and check student's forums during the weekend and holiday, because then she can give the feedback and help you to improve your score, she really focus on your progressing, not your cleverness, some friends with me in this class are international students but we found her class is really clear, thank you professor
She's the first professor i meet to check your forums during the weekend and holiday, because then she can give feedback and let you to improve scores.she really focus more on your hard work and progress, not your cleverness. Some friends also take her class and they are international students, all think her class is clear. Thank you, professor
Really Nice!Really Clear!The Best!
She is a great teacher. Very knowledgeable. A lot of extra credit and it's easy to get good grade. Do have to pay attention to her lecture as many of the questions comes from there. Highly recommended.
She has a passion for teaching, she takes the time to create unique activities for the classroom to engage in real life examples. She does talk pretty fast. She writes down notes that you will need. She is very flexible when grading the midterms (it is written/comprehensive) quizzes on scantrons, and gives partial credit for late hw.
Buy/rent the book, needed for weekly online HW & graphs that appear on quizzes/midterms. 2 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 research paper. Take good notes during lecture and study MYECON lab problems thoroughly because that will save you on the final. Very accommodating and helpful teacher, good with emails if u missed a class.
If you enjoy teachers that are stuck in 1999 that still use overhead projectors and have awful handwriting, and aren't particularly clear on what requirements for tests and papers are, then you will love her. She starts off the quarter seeming pretty funny but ends up becoming a student's worst nightmare. Would not advise taking her.
Good econtacher. 3 forums, 2 quizes, 1 midtrem, 1 final, 1 essy.A lot of ectra credit. Tests is not hard, have study guide. Give feedback about forums and essay. Lecture is not boring, need take notes. Already picked her Econ 2
A great econ teacher. Weekly online homework, 2 quizzes, 3 forums, 1 mid term, essay, and a final. She tries to make the discussions fun and likes it when kids participate when she is doing an example. Take good notes and you will do fine. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities so don't take them for granted! 1010 would recommend
Professor Singh successfully allows you to understand each and every topic you come across. The midterm is written response, and a bit difficult, but the quizzes are a breeze. The final is multiple choice, then all you have left is an essay and a short story about how your life relates to Econ. Just study a good amount and you can achieve an A.
WOW SHE'S IS THE BEST ECON TEACHER IN THE WORLD! she loves economics, she is truly passionate when she teaches. her passion for econ rubbed off on me, I almost want to change my major :) she seems rude at times but i didn't mind. I'm there to learn about econ not to be her bestie. I WILL FOREVER RECOMMEND HER.
Literally the WROST professor I've had at De Anza. Her powerpoints are awful, completely unorganized, lectures are boring, tries to be funny but its pathetic. Take Malek instead (I took him for Econ1). In the time it takes for her to give one terrible example, he'll give five good ones. Take her for an easy class, not to learn and enjoy economics.
Totally disorganized examples, she tries to connect anecdotes that go on forever, so that by the time she's finished you've forgotten what she was talking about. Too many stories, I was bored out of my mind. She's also not funny.
Honestly, taking this class was a huge waste of time. Professor Singh is extremely confusing when she lectures. Her style of teaching is everywhere. Her powerpoint are a joke. She's a really cool individual and you can tell she is passionate about her job, but the way she presents material is not helpful. This class is too much to stress over.
not an easy class but definitely not a hard one either, your grade is what you deserve or better, i ended up with an A+ when i thought i would get a B+
Probably one of the best econ teachers at De Anza. Uses power points as lectures and elaborates on the points. Wasn't a hard class as long as you take notes, payed attention, and attended class like a normal student. Don't really see how one can fail unless you're lazy and expect not to do anything. If that's the case, don't take this class..
I never really take the time out to give a review but this teacher just shocked me. She is EXTREMELY confusing and does not know how to explain anything. Her tests are VERY hard. I got an A in econ 1 but econ 2 with her was a disaster. DO NOT take this teacher even if she has a good review YOU WILL REGRET IT (coming from a hard working student)
Took her for econ 1 and 2. She's really nice, and makes economics very easy by stripping it to it's bare basics, which allows students to understand the concepts by seeing them in their simplest form. She tells you what will be on the tests and quizzes to make it even easier.
Her class seems a bit intimidating at first, but it's definitely not hard. I got an A+ and I think anyone should be able to do well as long as they read the textbook. Her lectures are pretty hard to follow sometimes so make sure you ask questions if you're confused!! I found reading the book and the hw to be more helpful though.
Professor Singh is a good teacher. You know that she has the passion to teach. 2 quiz , 1 final but 1 midterm ( Essay) and 2 forums and online home works. She is clear in explaining concepts but sometimes her pace of speaking might be fast. you just need to remind her to slow down. You need to study a bit to get an A as she gives some extra credit
Professor Singh is oveall a good teacher. 2 quizzes 1 midterm and 2 forums. Online homework weekly. She might be unclear sometimes but if you attend the class you will do fine. Pretty hard midterms as there are no multiple choice questions. You need to study hard to get an A. Harder than any other economics professors but surely you will learn.
This class was not too bad. She explains the concepts well. Doesn't assign too much work. Class was easy, just show up, listen, take notes and you'll be fine. She offers extra credit and is an easy grader when it comes to the midterm.
Professor Singh is awesome, she may be a little intimidating at first but she genuinely cares about her students. Her lectures aren't always very clear, but she tries her best to make sure you understand the material. She gives vey clear study guides for the exams so make sure you go over everything there when studying.
Pretty easy, 2 quiz, 1 midterm, 1 essay (easy), and final. Tries to make lectures interesting, not bad. Gives lots of extra credit, and encourages you to participate and cares about her students. homework is due every week online, which was pretty easy. the online modules helped me learn a lot. She also gives study guides!
She makes learning micro less boring because she seems lively when lecturing. Her notes are clear, and the quizzes/exams are mainly focused on lecture notes. Go to class on days when she announces groupwork b/c those extra points help boost your grade. An issue I had with her was that she messed up on my grading, so keep track of your scores.
Most part of your quiz is on online HW. In short answer midterm, writing down A WHOLE THING to your note, you'll survive. In essay, try to combine over 3 concepts to get high grade. I got Bminus on the first quiz, Bminus for first draft, but still end up with Aplus. Though she's easy, her class is quite boring. Recommend for international students.
If I was an Econ major, I'd take more of her classes. Very clear lectures, but does use online HW systems. Provides notes of lectures beforehand. She does expect at least some students to participate in asking and answering questions, even if you're wrong.
To me it's super easy compared to other Econ profs. You will get full grades on homework , and have cheat papers on exams. Her class is okay, some think she's unorganized because she jumps everywhere, but try to follow and you'll understand, her materials are easy. Overall the class is a super easy A.
The only test that is not MC is the midterm, which is a bit hard, but she gives lots of extra credit after the midterm. Generally, if you study for it then it won't be hard for you.
Easy A as long as you are a decent student.
Easy A to be honest. I like her extra credit and test.
Good professor that can be a little too chatty. Sometimes her lectures are all over the place but I understood them fairly well. Her notes are useful and I thought the tests were easy. The study guide and practice tests she gives out are always on point.
I recommend taking this class. I took both macro and micro the same quarter and they were both fairly easy. If you want to pass go to class and take notes and study the study guides and you'll be fine. I had over a 100% in both classes throughout the whole quarter
Would not recommend taking her ONLINE CLASS. Read a lot of good things about her but her online class is just too confusing. She sends too much email too. Homework and quizzes pretty simple but midterm is totally a different level. Plus you will have to watch very boring videos every week and do some kind of discussion forum.
She gets REALLY chatty in lectures and says "um" a lot which is distracting. Also she doesn't allow you to copy down notes while she's talking most of the time. The way she teaches could be much better if she didn't drag on her examples and went straight to the point of the topic. Nevertheless she offers a lot of tools for you to study off of.
Ms. Singh is awesome if you like Economics. I toke her Econ1 which is fairly easy as an introductory class. She encourages students to ask questions and go to discuss with her. She is easy on grading and gives out a lot of extra credits on regular homework and tests which can be earned easily without having to do many extra things.
I took Professor Singh's online ECON 1 class Winter 2019 and I don't regret it one bit. The class was very interesting yet easy. The lecture videos posted were concise and didn't bore you. The quizzes and exams were word for word off the slides. Easy A class!
For those who are majoring in Economics, Professor Singh's online ECON classes are the way to go! Her lectures are full of important content done in a concise matter. Her quizzes and exams are super easy. Recommended for ECON majors or those who need a GPA boost.
I started off with a low grade that quickly shot up to an A! She helps you a lot in her office hours and you can also send her your study guides for exams (even the midterm/final) and she'll give feedback. She also does games in class. When I was on the edge of getting an A-, with an 89, she bumped me up with a few remaining extra credits.
You can use notes on the midterm and final which make it way less stressful, she writes formulas on the board for the quizzes which are multiple choice, and she gives out practice quizzes and the answers. She lets you know what extra credit opportunities there are and she shows us some interesting articles and videos. Take her fam
This post is not for her online section. Recommend her if you take ECON 2 as a GE class. The workload is low while you can still learn a lot. You're only responsible for materials covered in lectures and handouts. A few readings for extra credits (lots of EC problems on tests!). Attending every lecture and taking good notes is extremely important.
An econ/business major who wants to take an easy A class but still wants to study and actually gain knowledge about the subject? TAKE HER CLASS! Her lectures are really good. Do the online hws, take good notes, finish all of the assignments and you'll get an A+. I put a moderate amount of effort into this class and my finalgrade reached over 100%
Took her Econ 1 online class over the summer, easy A and overall great class! We had three MC quizzes (super straightforward) and homework due on weekends, also lots of EC available. There's a couple of forums and if she likes your response she gives extra credit. I got EC on all of them and I wasn't even that confident abt some of them. Take her!
Prof Singh is easily one of THE best lectures at De Anza. I took both her macro and micro classes. this is coming from someone who puts in the least amount of possible effort into getting school work done. She's super caring and organized, really supportive too. Only class I ever enjoyed. Just take her class already!
[Pt 1] Prof Singh IS ONE OF THE BEST AT DE ANZA. TAKE HER...ZERO HESITATION. Cengage hw assignments, EXTREMELY organized in canvas and SUPER clear. Constantly reminds you of important things via email/announcments. TONS of Extra credit opportunities. If ur econ major, take her. For exams, COMPLETE the STUDY GUIDE, and WATCH HER REVIEW RECORDINGS.
[Pt 3] Want to clarify that I'm not econ major and professor's work load is VERY manageable compared to my other Stem classes. Final not cumulative, actually nothing is cumulative. I didn't even read text book, just watched her recordings. Oh and make sure to take notes on EVERYTHING SHE WRITES and ALL GRAPHS SHE DRAWS, because it WILL SHOW UP
tries to make sure you pass with a good grade. gives constant updates on what students have to do so they don't fall behind. is not out to screw you over!!! if you fail it's mostly your fault! videos are mundane, but professor tells you to change the speed accordingly. Very engaging lectures
If you take good notes on the lecture, like copy down the slides; you won't need to touch the chapter readings. Light work load. She gives us a review doc so just look at that and study based off of the study guide and the tests will be easy.
Don't take her for summer quarter. She isn't mindful of it being a 6 weeks quarters and makes you do so many busywork. Never had to take an econ class that had so much writing.
Probably the best professor I've had in college. She cares a ton about individual success and goes out of her way to help students. Practically begs for you to let her help you if you need it. Lectures are very clear and she throws in a lot of humor and relevant information. Listen and take notes during lectures and it's an easy A
AMAZING teacher. Caring and genuinely cares about her students understanding the subject. Really engaging lectures, she tries to make them as fun as possible. There are also many opportunities to earn extra points
Took during Summer 2024. Purchase Cengage to do weekly hw. 4 forums (written assignments), but she gives you examples to follow. 3 practice quizzes, 3 quizzes, 1 practice final and final + several easy EC opportunities. Read her announcements, watch and take notes of everything she writes in her lecture videos and study guides.
