He really cares about the topic and his students. He is loud and clear. The only negative about the way he teaches were that the class had power points, but it was still hard to get the main points to study for the midterms. The workload of the class is not difficult at all, just make sure you read! His Class was fun and easy.

Professor Buyco is a nice man who sometimes keeps the class interesting by relating current issues to the past. However, his teaching tactic (reading every single lecture from a textbook) and his grading policy ( "I will decide at the end of the term,") make for an uneasy semester. He is an extremely kind. He incorporates his students into his lectures well. He always seems to be very invested in the content that he is teaching, and genuinely seems to enjoy teaching history. He always seems to have a smile on his face, is considerate of his students, and is a wonderful guy to listen to.

Too many homework assignments and random pop quizzes. He is very nice, but his class is all over the place. Take another professor.

Honestly, he is a very kind professor, but should improve on his lectures. They are Joe Biden level boring and you don't really learn much from them. I recommend going to lectures because of random pop quizzes or extra credit opportunities.

You definitely have to have a good attention span and be a good student to succeed in the class. It is a big class, and is lecture heavy, but the professor's storytelling is first rate if you like history, foreign policy and politics.

Professor is an old school lecturer with a great personality and lots of stories to tell. I had to up my game otherwise I would have ended up with a C. Kinda glad he challenged me because I actually learned something.

Buyco did a great job in making the course enjoyable. Because the lecture slides were accessible, during class I focused completely on the spoken lecture to take notes on important information. He made sure students were comfortable in one of the worst classrooms on campus so students could focus entirely on the lecture.

Expect a lot of homework for this class. Every week we are assigned multiple assignments and on top of reading many chapters. Even though attendance is not mandatory, there are pop quizzes, so if you don't show up, you might miss those. Overall, you'll learn a lot in his class which I found to be helpful.

Lectures were extremely boring. It was really hard to take notes. The slides he posts don't have good notes on them. The tests are hard and you actually need to study for them. Going to SI sessions helped me pass each test with at least a B+. I recommend taking this class online instead

He's very passionate about teaching his subject. Make sure to write notes on what he says instead of what's on the slide, as he goes a bit fast. A couple of quizzes and a paper at the end. Takes forever to grade, but homework is straightforward and easy.

Coming back a semester later because I forgot to leave a review. That's how great Buyco is. The most chill and laid-back professor you'll ever meet. Honest and respectful. Really is just a chill guy. Tests were pretty average in difficulty, but given that you review the lecture slides and fill up your cheat sheet, you should be good. Awesome guy.

He was overall a great professor, good lectures, open-note quizzes and front & back cheat sheet for the midterm and final. Homework is pretty light. The only bad thing is that he is a SLOWWW grader, so you don't know your true grade til end of semester, and also solely relies on Turnitin for essays before you're reported
