It's kinda hard to understand him sometimes, but it's really great being in his class. It's one of my favorite classes and it's really really fun.

He is a good teacher, BUT his tests are hard. Not because the questions are overly hard, but the tests are long so you don't have time to check your work...He constantly tells you to double check your work, then gives you a test where it's impossible to do if you want to finish it. I got a 'B'

Prof. Menagus is a really good teacher and he makes you laugh. The class is hard, it's calc. 2. Do your homework, go to his office if you need help and you will be fine. I t hought the tests were reasonable, no surprise crazy hard questions that weren't covered in the homework. Tests are doable.

Great teacher! You will learn a lot in his class. His tests are hard but if you do the practice tests and attend classes, you will do fine. He is a nice guy but make students work and study hard! Remember, you're worth more than the grade he gives you. If you get a B in his class, you would be an A student if you would have an easier teacher.

Menegus is a very good teacher and knows his material very well. DO THE HOMEWORK and you do fine on the tests. His TESTS ARE HARD, no joke. If you're not committed to attending class everyday and doing homework everyday, take another professor.

I won't lie, the class was not easy but if you go to class and do the HW you'll survive. Menagus takes a dry class and makes it interesting. I encourage you to see him during his office hours if you're unsure on the material. However, I do stress, be prepared to work hard. It ended up being my only non A.

An awesome teacher. Totally committed to helping his students, but only as far as they are willing to help themselves. Expects a lot out of students, but available all the time for extra help. Tests are hard, but homework and practice tests are a BIG help. Make sure you are willing to put real effort into this class before taking it, though.

Very hard, but a GREAT teacher and very helpful. Make sure to attend all his lectures so you don't fall behind. And I never thought I'd say this, but he IS very handsome.

One of the best math teachers I've ever had. Since he has a masters in physics, he also goes over ideas for applications of mathematics instead of just pure numbers. He really opens your eyes to what's actually going on. A+

This class is not a traditional math class. He teaches some basic and some not so basic concepts and theories. The first half is really easy. The second half got harder. Menegus is by far the hardest Calc 3 teacher you will ever come accross, but if you're willing to put in the work you can pass. You will probably not get an A unless you are just brilliant, but you will pass. I have never studied so hard in my life to earn a C. He is a good teacher though and is willing to help his students, you can't BS this class

Great teacher, this year he was the only professor who taught the full M-Th and did a great job. He makes a boring subject more interesting, and will give it to you in a way you can understand. Tests are tough because each problem is different from the next, just ask for help. He is wacky but an awesome teacher.

This Calc II class is a hard class in general, so he seems like a hard professor. Only one who teaches all his classes with no TA. Gives you all different techniques and has a slight slight curve. Those who say he is bad are probably just incompetent or not engineers. This is an engineering class...so its hard with or without him as a professor.

The guy is great. He will teach you stuff that will be helpful in the future. Yeah, his class is a little tough, but if you do all the assigned hw, you'll pass with a B. Greatest math teacher EVER. has somewhat difficult tests, but if you put in the work to learn it, you will do fine. No, you definantly don't need to do "2 hours of calculus a day" to pass..but maybe if you want an A. Nice curve at end of semester; makes coming to class enjoyable. Office hours help tremendously. Also interesting guy to just talk to.

Great teacher!!! I took calc in high school in 2002 and didn't remember most of it. I took Dr. Shen's calc class in spring '08 and wanted to cry, I stopped going half way through. I was scared going this semester but I totally understood everything. He tough about silly mistakes though so don't make them. He's entertaining too. Even at 8:00 am.

I had taken IB HL Math(which is kinda like AP Calc, but harder) last year in high School. I got C's and D's on every test, but one. But then this year, It just all came together and I barely practiced any of the problems. Very good teacher.

Never worked this hard for a B in my life. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He is incredibly helpful and a great teacher but be ready to work hard. Very interesting guy with funny stories.

Awesome teacher, one of my favorites of all time. People don't like him because he asks so much from the class, which is true. I spent more time doing math for his class than I could have ever imagined, but in the end it was totally worth it. Definitely recommend.
