Great Class
Great teacher, nice guy, interesting class.
easy grader
Best English teacher ever. Really friendly and understanding. Take him.
Can't make blues fun...need to know about music for this class.
Drop this class if you know what's best for you.
Easy readings, lots of discussion, not picky
great teacher, really helps with learning to plan out essay, made blues fun!!
Really nice guy, interesting & easy class-not too much work
Monotone, boring Powerpoint presentations but generally nice guy
Very nice guy, easy class, easy grader. Listen to music almost every day!
4 papers and a research paper, all about music. Can't get much easier.
just pretend like you like the blues and you're set
great guy, lots of papers though, just keep up and you'll do fine
great class, good discussion, very helpful w/ questions
Very helpful, great guy - participate and write well and you'll be fine
equally boring as he is easy
Easy grader, easy class, not a bad guy.
Great class, interesting discussions, nice guy, great teacher.
Cool guy even when sometimes boring. Easy grader.
Maybe the most boring teacher I've ever had. Boring power-point presentations in the dark + classical music at 9am = many sleeping students. However is a very easy grader and willing to help whenever he can
what a self-important peice of work
Great man. Knows his stuff about writing and about music. Very helpful and personable. Found the class to be interesting. Would definitely take this professor again-he cares about his students and is willing to help. Papers are on interesting topics.
nice helpful guy, interesting class. light workload. listen to music during class. sometimes powerpoint presentations are boring. a little bit picky on the grading. allow the writer to write about whatever topic they want on papers (beatles for example).
actual class period is cake (power point presentations & listening to music), weekly email assignments, if u think ur a good writer = easy A, atleast a B+ if u try, can write ur essays on anything - doesn't ever seem excited, never engaging & very boring
Very easy power point presentations. Just do your work and you will get a good grade.
cool dude. easy class- just do the papers and homeworks and youll be fine. a lotta the time he takes a person interest in the things you like. nice guy.
The subject was great, and the teacher knew alot about it. Early in the morning, so I slept through it alot.
Liked this class alot, it was an honors course, so it was all about music. No tests, no need to take notes either, just powerpoint slides and listening to a lot of music. Had to write three short paper and one research paper, but always had help from him and writing fellows. Really nice guy, as well
"Living the Jazz Life" is a great honors colloquium and Peters definitely knows his jazz. The class was a lot of fun. We sat there listening to jazz and watching DVDs. Then, we discussed it. The reading is minimal and very interesting. Peters is a really nice guy, and I highly recommend the class.
I LOVED this guy. He was so nice and really helpful if you sought him out. He brought us cookies one class to help us get our discussion started. Adorable.
Really nice guy. Class is all short readings and discussion, nothing too hard. Definitely cares and wants to help. Would reccomend him for any colloquium or english class you need to take.
he's a great guy and really nice and helpful. his class was all discussion from short readings and he graded the papers easy. i was not interested in the topic of the class at first but im really into it now. he makes u love it just with how much passion he has for it. and he brings in chocolate when u finish papers!
Took his honors colloquium last semester for art of medicine. Peters was awesome. class is completely discussion based. grades very easy. returns papers back in a timely manner. class very interesting. My entire class was upset that he wouldn't be teaching an engl 110 for spring.
i had him for my english 110: writing about music and he was amazing!!! really passionate about what he teaches. so nice, grades very easy. he assigned us a writing fellow which was very helpful. we were all upset he wasn't teaching a colloquium next semester. my favorite professor this semester!
Peters is AMAZING. I had him for my honors colloquium (the art of medicine). The class is interesting and ALL discussion. Only 3 papers all semester--if you put in effort you will get an A. He always returns emails promptly and is very encouraging--he always uses exclamation marks in his emails. : ) Take Peters for any class he is teaching!
Art of Medicine. best class ever. So chill. Class is discussion of readings and he makes the class sit in a giant circle. Weekly writings by email to him which were pretty easy and helped with class discussion. The papers were straightforward. He's alwasy upbeat and has a smile. A genuinely awesome professor! Take Ray!!!
You would have to try extremely hard to not get an A in this class. I hate reading, writing, and participating in class, and yet it was still the easiest class I took. As long as you do the work, you get an A.
Overall he was quite passionate, but the students weren't. A select few participated in class regularly. Since the class was entirely discussion-based, it was pretty boring and filled with a lot of awkward silence. I wish he could have gotten us more involved. On the bright side, it's easy to do well.
Peters is great! I have him for my Honors Colloquium and he is awesome for Music Writing. He is really involved, always early to class, and allows us to have a lot of freedom in class discussions. We have a ton of writing to do (but it IS freshman english) but he hasn't graded to harshly as of right now. I highly recommend taking his courses.
He is a really fun and interesting teacher. I had him for my colloquium, Art and Medicine. He assigns weekly writing/reading assignments which are not hard and are all about your opinion. There are only 2 essays and a research project. He makes class very interesting and fun!
Mr. Peters is awesome! Had him for my Art of Med colloquium class. Weekly writing assignments weren't bad and he's so adorable! Very nice and always willing to help students prep for essays. Uses writing fellows a lot which helps! Not too hard of a grader and he literally does EVERYTHING! His stories are comical. Take his class if you can!
Mr. Peters is a great professor! Compared to the other colloquiums, this one seemed relatively easy. His weekly writing assignments aren't too bad, and his discussions, though they can be a bit boring, aren't too taxing. Highly reccomend taking The Art of Medicine if you get the chance. (Writing fellows are a HUGE help in this class)
Mr. Peters is awesome! He really discusses the topics well.He had weekly assignments,2 essays, and a research paper, but that's pretty good for a colloquium.Obviously you'll have to do work in his class, but he is the kindest teacher and is always, always willing to help.If you participate, read the stories and write the papers well, you'll do well.
Amazing english teacher, I had him for Improv and Composition and it was the best English class i've ever had, and i HATE english. Highly recommend him as a professor he makes it fun
I took his honors section class about writing about music. It was discussion-based and fairly easy. He expects a lot from the papers so getting a good grade definitely takes work, but if you put in the effort and do the research you'll come out okay. It's a very manageable class that teaches a lot without causing stress.
Mr. Peters is the best teacher EVER! I had him for "Writing About Music." He's so kind and helpful, and it's a very doable course load, He's the director of the Writing Fellows, so you get a upperclassman to help you with your papers. He loves his students and takes the time to get to know each student personally. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Professor Peters is great. Expectations are clear and attainable. He makes the class very entertaining and if you put a decent amount of effort into your papers you'll get an A. One of the best professors I've had at UD
He is without a doubt my favorite professor in the English department. A kind, intelligent, and amazing person who will always help out a student. He likes to know his students. He wants to know them on a personal level. Definitely stay in touch with him. I am so angry I can't have him this semester, but I will definitely keep in touch with him.
Peters was my absolute favorite professor last semester. I took his Art of Medicine colloquium and found it fascinating even though I had no previous interest in the medical field. He really likes participation and class discussion. I'm taking him again this semester for ENGL110 Honors.
Peters is one of the greatest professors I've had. His class focuses mostly on discussion and participation so always raise your hand and contribute. He definitely wants to be your friend and genuinely cares about your grade in the class. He'll invite you over for dinner and if you go he'll love you. Just learn what he likes to hear and write it.
Really great teacher that feeds off of participation. The honors ENGL sections are small so he knows if you aren't there. Started out not really liking him but he grows on you. Lets you write outside of "normal English class" boundaries. Raise your hand and he'll like you more and let him know if you don't like the books, he will change them.
Ray was a cool prof (he invited us to dinner!). I had Amazing Science Epic Fail with him; it was about technological failures. We had 3 essays, a research paper, and weekly readings. Attend class-he "takes it into account" while grading papers. I don't know if I grew as a writer, but I found the material stimulating.
It's clear that this guy has a real passion for his trade, and even though he's a kook, you'll love him for it. There are 4 papers total and a 500 word assignment each week, but as long as you put in a decent amount of effort, he'll give you a good grade. Just make sure you participate in class and do the readings.
Peters is the best professor I have had at UD! There's a reason why his class filled up in less than a minute. I had his honors E110 on pseudoscience and quackery. The class was discussion based, and we sometimes watched videos from the Onion, which was fun. Peters gave one homework assignment each week, three essays, and a research paper.
Dr. Peters is AMAZING! He's so funny and really loves the material he teaches. I had the colloquium, where you do have to write a 500 word paper each week about the reading assigned, but you can BS it and he'll take it. The 2 essays were also fairly easy. Definitely an easy A if you put in minimum effort & participation.
Really fantastic professor and person in general. He created a very open and relaxing class discussion environment. Definitely one of the more exciting honors English topics and gave good feedback on each paper. Low stress class with a few papers that aren't tough to write.
Mr. Peters is, by far, one of my favorite professors I've had at UD. He embodies everything a student wants in a professor: interesting material/lectures, respectable, clear expectations and criteria, humorous, & not too tough on grading. He wants to see students succeed both in his class and beyond. Learned a lot & had a great time in his class!
Mr. Peters is a relaxed, chill guy who really likes talking to his students. His class is interesting and is a breeze. get ready to read sections of books every week. not bad at all. the material he covers is interesting and the class discussion is good. really like him! he cares about his students
Mr. Peters is honestly the best and one of the nicest professors. For colloquium, he assigns weekly readings and writing assignments, which are graded based on completion and participating in class discussions. The three major papers are spaced throughout the semester, leaving plenty of time to work on them.
All around awesome professor. Prof Peters cares so much about his students and tries to help each one connect to the subject. The workload is very reasonable. Papers are graded fairly with good feedback. Extremely passionate about what he teaches and very knowledgeable about just about everything you could talk about with him.
Mr. Peters is phenomenal! He really cares about his students and wants every student to get an A. Class is completely discussion based and if you do the reading you'll be fine. The only assignments are a writing exercise each week that has some reading, 1 essay, 1 multimedia project, and 1 research paper, no final. Peters is excellent!
LOVE THIS MAN. He is a real sweetheart and makes class very fun! He grades SO easy, you get an A if you do your work and participate.
Mr. Peters is very thoughtful. His classes fostered interesting discussion between students. His homework is thought provoking but not necessarily difficult
Peters is a great professor. If you have the chance to take a class with him, then do it. He really cares about his students, and while his class was a lot of hard work, if he sees you putting in effort, you will do well.
I LOVE Mr. Peters. We do have some reading each week but it is actually interesting and enjoyable. In class we talk about the readings and he is so chill and fun. Papers are slightly vague but he will give you an A if you put in effort. I love this man and told all my friends to take his class
Peters is great teacher and genuinely cares about his students. There is not much outside work besides a weekly writing assignment and 3 essays. He is always willing to help students especially in your transition from high school to college. Make sure you participate in the discussions, which can actually be really interesting.
Seriously a gem. considered taking another class with him just to spend more time around him.
Peters is awesome. Best professor I've had in college so far. Do the readings and participate in class and you'll be good! Only a couple major essays and then an assignment due each week. Class is discussion based and he treats each student with respect.
This class was well worth taking with Ray Peters. There is a lot of reading in this class but it is broken up well and Mr. Peters makes discussion of readings extremely interesting. There are several essays required for this class but all projects can be personalized towards subjects of interest.
Of you show up to class you pretty much get an A. It is a huge discussion-based class. Doesn't grade that hard on papers, gave me an A on all of them, and also gives plenty of time to complete them. 1 weekly reading assignment a week (honestly don't really need to read the chapters just skim through them). Discussion is based on the readings.
Mr. Peters is definitely one of the best professors at UD. He truly cares about all his students and wants everyone to succeed. He's passionate about helping students and makes his classes enjoyable.
Mr. Peters is an amazing teacher!! You can really see the passion that he has about the topic, and his conversations are very engaging. There are three main essays and writing assignments every week which all are very flexible and encourage you to hone in on your writing style. Mr. Peters genuinely just wants the best for everyone!!
Amazing prof. Really takes the time to get to know everybody as well as their writing. Readings weren't the most enjoyable but discussions were fun and easygoing in class. Prompts for the papers were fun, I enjoyed writing them. Relatively easy grader.
Prof. Peters was my favorite teacher freshman year! I agree with others that the readings aren't always the best but some are really interesting. Class discussion is always great and never awkwardly silent. Essay topics are fun and he grades very fairly. Generally a really awesome guy!
Mr. Peters cares about each and every one of his students and makes a big effort to learn everyone's names, majors, and things that they are interested in. The classes can get a little boring, but if you participate in the discussions it's more interesting and helps your grade. You don't have to know a lot about music to do well in class.
Professor Peters is amazing! He is not a tough grader at all, so as long as you put in effort you'll get an A. There are only 3 essays, so the majority of the work is the weekly writing exercises. Attendance is mandatory, but he makes the classes fun and worthwhile. If you can, I definitely recommend taking him!
Mr. Peters is an amazing professor. Take him for your colloquium if you have the chance. The course is light on work 3 major papers and a project, with weekly writing exercises that are more fun than difficult. He is very welcoming and approachable. He makes class fun and conversation based rather than droning on and on.
For one, the course material is very interesting, and Peters is very invested in the content. There's a weekly writing exercise that is fairly easy. Classes are fun and very group discussion-based. Overall, he's probably the best professor I've had at UD.
Mr. Peters is such a lovely prof and for the material you read, the exercises are fun and pretty easy. I loved his Art of Medicine class and he honestly made me enjoy English again! Only 3 major papers and one project which for the standard, is not bad at all. 10/10 please take this class if you can!
I would write an essay on Mr. Peters if I could. His class was probably one of the most fun and one of the easiest I've taken. Only 3 papers and a project, as well as weekly writing responses. He's a professor that genuinely cares about his students, definitely take his colloquium if you can! One of my favorite professors for sure!
Really nice professor. The Art of Medicine was very easy; included three essays, one of which was a larger research paper, and a then had to be converted into a multimodal remediation. Weakly readings and quick reflection on them. Very accessible. Essay instructions were clear, and while no real rubric, just go to office hours and he'll help.
I took the art of medicine even though I have no interest in pursuing anything in medicine. I was pleasantly surprised how interesting professor Peters made the course, and it wasn't hard to get a good grade. We wrote three papers and had no tests. He also seems to really care about his students and their learning.
