NO ONE can understand his writing and half the time you can't even understand what he's saying
Very unclear, hard to read his writing and even harder to understand his lecture.
Okay this guy can not speak english, very hard to understand and keep up in class he needs to work on his grammar a bit too, very rude to students, marks tardies, make kids leave class for ten minutes, bascially all the same thing high school teachers pull...do not take!
Has a poor grasp of the english language and cannot communicate properly. His lectures are worthless as a result of this. His expectations of time spent studying at home are far too high for the average American. Overall, this professor is not a wise choice.
bar none, one of the worst teachers ever! Accent you can't understand, on top of that, class time is pointless to attend. You have to read the book!!
this guy is insane, i can barley understand him, and his grading system cant be any worse, STAY AWAY!!!
Horrible teacher!! All he does is yell to make himself sound correct. Others and I have caught his mistakes many times as he differs from the book. He is nothing worth wasting your time on.
very opinion based. does not respect his students and gets mad at the slightest disagreement. unfair grading.

Horrible teacher. doestnt follow the book at all so its hard to study. his grading is a complete joke..its all or nothing so he will mark you wrong if its not the exact answer. And to top it all off you cant understand anything he is saying..very strong accent. (dont listen to the first comment..he probably wrote it himself)
a bit difficult to understand at times but he's got a powerpoint presentation to go with his lecture. For his first year, he is not too bad except for his grading scale which is quite obsene. Those quizes will break you in half. BTW his haircut is QUITE secksy

SUCKS!!!! Don't take this class. I didnt learn anything and its really hard to study because he speak clearly and doesnt help out as far as what is on the tests. He doesnt give partial credit and takes Macro way to seriously
baiscly the worst teacher i have ever had, cant understand a word he said, or his writting. And if u ask for help, he tells you to ask someone around you. Yeaaa...um great teacher
I would not recommend this teacher. You have to take notes constantly just to pass the class. Very strict and he is very hard to understand. He can be funny, but he is one of the hardest teachers ive ever had
don't take his class under any circumstance
He might be strict in grading but his class is pretty laid back. His quizes which are the main part of your grade come directly from his notes. But you need to have coommon sense to understand this material in general. Just pay attention.
WOW.Went to his class and sat there for 15 min until I BOLTED to the library to IMMDIATELY register for a different class. It's not like I stayed long enough to learn anything except DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
good guy
He is hard to understand and takes economics way to seriously. Grading scale is not great, either.
I really enjoyed his class. If you go to class and pay attention when he lectures then you will do fine. I honestly wrote down key CONCEPTS on flashcards before tests and i got A's on them all. And his grading is generous becuase in the end what is normall an 87% is an A! GOOD TEACHER!!
This class isn't an easy class. His tests seem to be much easier than u would expect, but they cover everything for the entire year. The second test has more things from the old chapters then the new. SO you have to really understand the subject. He drops ur lowest test and doubles ur highest, tho. His english is okay. You must study, though.
fantastic teacher. Looks incredible for a man his age. excellent shoes. and the best haircut in all of ventura county.
Can not speak english. Tough class, make sure you do all the home work and you will be fine. But you cannot understand a damn word from this guy and his writting looks like he wrote it with his feet.
His class isn't as hard as I thought it would be. The tests are really really easy. Just read the book and u'll be fine. He is strict at first but really loosens up as the year goes on. He makes you think the test will be hard but in fact they are extremely easy. Do the homework! He gives u credit for hw and doing work on the board.
Ok, maybe he isn't the best teacher I ever had, but this guy is trying to make us competitive when we need transferring. I give him a Thumb-up for his knowledge and his efforts to make the tough course interesting. Let's grow up and be less fault-finding. Come on, this is a college.
he is a great teacher and as long as you study his notes and pay attention to what he says, for sure you will at elast pass this class, easy and nice teacher.
nice guy who wants to see you succed... uses the book and always shows up. easy tests and homework as long as you do the reading.
Mr. Z is an extremely knowledgable man! I am not that good at economics, but he really tries to make sure all of the students learn. He is personable with his students and is always there to help.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A CLASS FROM THIS MAN. He is awful, ****, and has the worst accent. Any teacher is better than him. He says that only certain things will be on the tests, then when you go to take the test its completely different then what we discussed in class. He is awful.
Boring. Too much classtime wasted. Easy tests. Easy A. Accent hard but sometimes funny, English comprehension generally poor, Obessesed with Automobile industry and Airlines. Soemtimes seems dictatorial (my way only) and **** (against Latino and Persians for some reason.)
THIS CLASS IS A JOKE!!! HE IS A HORRIBLE TEACHER! You can't understand him and he does not follow the syllabus. Is not helpful and will not answer questions. His test are impossible. I dont recormend taking this class at all what so ever!
All you lazy bums with your bad ratings. If you pay attention in class, take notes, and crack the book open you'll get an easy A. mr. zhang helps alot and answers our questions all the time. He also has pre-exam questions (very same as the exam) and study guide. Also, he curves our first midterms and extra credits!! It doesn't get any better than t
Barely speaks english, does not think highly of community college students at all. Will be happy to argue with you if he feels you are stupid! Absolute jerk! Yells at you all the time because he believes you are all stupid for being at a JC!!! Makes no sense ever! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!
I received a C in his class but he is a Hard Professor, Does Not Allow Makeups, Offends people who are having trouble with the subject, Hard to understand, Teaches mixes Microeconomics with Macroeconomics sometimes basically asting time,I will not recommend him. He does not care about his students,
Good & knowledgeable professor...a little difficult only if you missing classes or don't keep up with his lectures. I took his macro class in spring and it had a little more work than micro, but he's very organized and has well structured PowerPoint and handouts for us. I got both A. Easy!
This is the best economics class i have ever had. He truly knows what he is talking about and how to teach it to the class. All you have to do is show up and he will help you the rest of the way. He grades very understanding and keeps everyone on the same page.
This teacher is a must take! He really cares about his students and all you have to do is show up and he'll help you the rest of the way. Offers extra help when needed. I would definately take him again!
Mr. Z is an awsome teacher! he is very knowledgable about the subject. If you have any problems he is more than willing to help. Fun class and he brings in current events. If you want to learn take this class..
Prof. Zhang is a good teacher. He'll explode every once in a while but the class isn't too hard. Tests aren't that hard, and each test has questions from previous tests. Attendance is crucial because if you miss you fall behind. I recommend the class - pretty easy.
first of all he barely speaks english and his accent is very hard to understand. i basically taught myself all of the material so i guess attendance is not mandatory. he definetly has some favorite students so dont be annoying or talk back and he wont even notice youre in the class and give you an A.
Professor is very hard to understand and his teaching method is quite difficult to understand as well. Having to work the problems out on the board was not helpful either. Also, his tests were EXTREMELY difficult and tricky (he tries to trick you, answers are not straight forward).
Zang is a great teacher. He is very helpful explains econ with many real life experiences. He is very approachable and will assist you with anything you want to know. There are 4 exams and many makeup credits, basically you just follow what he said and study. Take him, he's great! The two comments before me seemed from paranoid persons.
He sucks! He does not know how to teach the class. His test are so hard. I was a economics major. But now after taking his class i will hate economics. Real hard to understand. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ECONOMICS THAT ALL!!
He's a very intelligent teacher. He really knows his stuff. He preached about helpful tips in the real world. He actually cares about students. If you ever need any advice about life and choosing the right or reasonable path, ask Mr. Z. A Great teacher. You should take him.
this is the best professor this campus has to offer. He is kind and does almost anything possible to make you understand.i which there could be more like him.please take his class
He is really good teacher. just sometime he acting weird.helpful like extra credit. He also give yu more % in your test depend on how welll overal your class doing .I know sometime he really hard to understand. but his study guide really helpful . And you just need to listen and do your home work. For sure .you will get an A+
Don't take his class. His class so boring. He never care about you..his lecture is so bad..he always talk about something else..
This class isn't so hard as long as you study the handouts he gives you extensively. Most of his tests are based off of the handouts. His lectures are definitely not clear. He is not a nice guy. Do the homework! It's about 15% of your grade..an easy 15%. I wouldn't take his class again, even though it was easy, only because he's a jerk.
A great teacher. If want to learn real stuff, take him. He preached about helpful tips in the real world. he actually cares about you. If you ever need any advice about life and choosing the right or reasonable education path, ask Mr. Z. He tells you almost what he wants/the answers on the exams. EASY!
this subject is really easy. But he doesn't know how to teach it. He is really smart and knows his stuff but when it comes to teaching its like talking to a wall. I wouldn't recommend taking him at all if you are going to rely on the teacher to teach you anything. He is really negative and doesn't really relate the material to anything. take R.Edwar
He's an overall great professor. Just come to class everytime, take notes and you will pass easy. there are four exams, six homework and one term paper. his handout has many exam questions. study it before each exam! he uses lots of real examples and repeats key ideas for emphasis which helps learning.
Honestly i ended up with a D because he cant work with you, changes due dates to earlier time. He also favors people. Cant teach, speak english, just cant be a teacher period. He has a long way to go onto becoming a teacher. The knowdledge is there just cant spread it.
Would not recommend: very difficult to understand his thick Chinese accent, though it's amusing at times. Tests are easy; homework is 15% of final grade, tests are 80%, project is 5%. Project is easy, just make sure you include LOTS of graphs. I did no homework at all, so I can't comment on it; I As on all tests and a B final grade.
Mr Z is easy to work with as u follow him closely. Very helpful, if you have a question u don’t have to ask because read your face, he also makes econ live and help to understand the stock market, and he prepares us for his midterms and final. I get a C first and end up A. He really teaches u the real things and knows his stuff well. he rocks!
he teaches you the world! I took his class and ended up with A. His exams were a little tricky at first but I learned it pretty quick because many repeated later. That’s very helpful. A great teacher in the college!! I love his class and especially his market analysis. I think I am econ major now.
Very unapproachable, he expects a great deal from the students. If an accent confuses or distracts you this it not the class for you. I guess overall he was pretty fair but his class still gave me a lot of grief. Make sure you have access to a computer and check your e-mail every five seconds.
Ok, he has a heavy accent and can be hard to understand and is not very approachable. A lil unclear on due dates and tends to chew the class out. He doesn't ask too much of his students, tests are not very difficultand questionsrepeatthrough the semester. Unclear about assignment guidelines. Attend class, do hw, study for exams. Youll pass. blah!
I am an older student and was afraid of economics before I took his class, wasn't expecting much instead he help me in a great deal and many of my "mature" classmates liked him and his approach. He has some light accent but it doesn't bother us. Hey here is CA, get real! I give him a lot of credits for our success as a class. It was a good class...
Prof. Zhang is a strict teacher and will always refer you to his syllabus when you have questions rather than answer them. He is very knowledgeable and assigns large homework packets, most of which are easy. His tests are cumulative, including the final. Speaks with a clearly Chinese accent, but is understandable. There is one oral presentation.
Zang is one of my favorites! He goes over almost everything that is going to be on the exams. 4 Exams (multiple choice, you can skip one!), 1 term paper (Start on it ASAP).He offers extra crefit too! He is funny and enjoyable. I got a B and i sooo could've gotten an A by studying period. Take him & you wont regret it! 4 exams, term paper and extra
Great teacher, very informed, clear, tests are fairly easy, not much homework but better do all, you will need the credits to get A.
Professor Zhang is one of the best teachers I had at Moorpark College. For all of you who say you cannot understand his accent, that is rubbish, because the people who cannot understand what he is saying were too preoccupied texting people while he was lecturing in class! Sit in the front row and pay attention instead of doing other things!
Most of the class got A's, he's one of my favorites at moorpark. He's a nice guy. He tells you everything that you need to know for exams.
Awesome teacher, really clear lectures. Tests are pretty easy as long as you go to class, follow his online requirement, and listen.
Great professor always wants to answer any questions. In his course outline he explains exactly how to format and turn in your homework. It still surprises me that college students can't follow simple directions like stapling there homework before turning it in and so up totally unprepared. I got A's in both his classes and really enjoyed them both
I am taking his hybrid class. As long as you pay attention and put AT LEAST the required amount of studying time he suggests, the class is not that bad.He may seem strict and tough to some people, but this is the real world people. It's time to grow up.He does offer help outside of his class to those who need it.I plan on taking him for Econ M02.

He will not explain anything in class after the first week. You have to either email him or visit him during his office hours. There is a lot of printing needed for this class. I printed over 100 papers. Also he is extrememly difficult to understand with his strong asain acsent. I suggest not taking this class.
Wont answer simple questions, very hard to understand due to very strong asian accent and unclear about material. Dont take if you plan on teaching YOURSELF economics
Great teacher! I am taking two of his hybrid classes this spring...he is very helpful, one of the best teacher that I've had...initially he may seem strict but you'll do fine! Just follow him closely and do all the work. I am sure I will get two A.
Mr. Zhang is by far the best instructor I have had this year. He may seem strict at first, but as long as you follow his instructions and study your materials, you will do fine. I guarantee you! His heavy accent isn't as bad as people say it is.
This class in an easy A, as long as you study his detailed PowerPoints, practice tests, and class notes you will do perfectly fine in his class.
I think this class isn't difficult as long as you try, that is part of learning..as a matter of fact, I think it's a super easy class....Instructors are not going to just give you a grade. Your grade is what you earned, please don't blame it on the accent...we are living in a multicultural county, grow up and face the real world.
Professor is unorganized, slideds used are from 2 years ago (dated). His book was incorrectly ordered and not available until right before the first summer class. He thinks he is on a high horse. I almost want to take the class at my regular (4yr) college so i won't have to deal with his snobby attitude. His explanation and effort is extremely low
Actually he is not bad at all, it?s summer class, dude. He is rather well-prepared and knows his stuff so well which impressed me often. Very fair and helpful to us. I like it totally and expect ?A.?
Professor Zhang has a strong understanding of Economics. Has a thick Chinese accent, but you get used to it. He expects participation and does make his lectures enjoyable. As long as you read your text and come to class wiling to partake in lecture, you will do fine!
Not like some losers said, this is a great class and he's a great teacher. Gives you study guide and sample for each test. The test is literally everything from them, nothing more. Just study that and you'll be fine. A few assignments and extra credits, but he gives you an A if you get up close there. I definitely recommend him.
Zhang is so funny, dont but the textbook never used it. Test are straight from the study guides he gives you so study them! No homework, 4 quizzes and 4 exams. This class is pretty easy but to assure you get an A i suggest you know alittle on econ
Professor Zhang is AWESOME! He may seem strict at first, but just read his syllabi and powerpoints and you will be set. Class is a blast and Exams are based solely on Sample Exams posted online. Interested or not in Economics TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. You will not regret it!
ZHANG IS THE BEST! He loves the material and he wants you to learn. He may seem intimidating but just laugh-he's usually kidding. He offers practice tests online and they are almost identical to the tests. If you don't end up with an A, its because you're a lazy and incapable student. You have the exams sitting in your lap already. Just STUDY!
Don't let other bad reviews scare you! He tries to come off as strict but he is actually hilarious. I took his hybrid class over the summer and it was cake. Don't bother buying the book, just study the practice exams and the questions at the end of the PPTs. Easiest A if you just memorize the practice exams. Good for people like me who just need GE
He's a great professor. If you pay attention, take good notes and study you'll learn a lot.
He teaches for the salary not because he loves the material. Don't let him fool you when he says he "loves" econ. HE IS LYING TO YOU. Because of this, all you have to do is memorize his worksheets. In addition, his dry humor would work if he didn't laugh at his own jokes. All things considered he gets a C+ in my book.
Heres what you should know going in: He appears strict (especially in the beginning) but he is a really nice guy. Most importantly though he is completely FAIR. He tells you exactly what you should do, and if you do it you should be fine. He gives sample tests- if you memorize them before his tests you should get at least a B in his course.
Pretty easy. Seems strict at first but he really isn't at all. Very funny guy loves American pop culture. Tests are based off of sample exams. pay attention in class and know sample exams and you should get an A.
Not a very easy teacher. Hard to understand due to heavy accent, and doesn't really teach, and he seems to idolize Steve Jobs. Heavy use on the textbook, doesn't do much teaching in class. I wouldn't recommend him.
This teacher doesnt teach. He tells you to read his notes, and then leaves the classroom for half the class and comes back and yells at the whole class for not knowing everything from his notes. DO NOT RECOMMEND! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Not a very helpful teacher. He knows his stuff and is very knowledgeable on the current economy, but he talks down to students and makes you feel stupid when asking questions. He expects you to know the material, but doesnt spend enough time explaining it. Class consists of 4 exams and a final.
He is not the most helpful teacher because he wants you to come to class with the notes reviewed and ready to discuss but honestly his class is a joke . He'll tell you to review the notes then leave for like 20 minutes then come back and barely discuss them. Grade is based of 5 tests, but has sample exams posted online that are similar to the exam
Unless you know about econ already, DONT TAKE HIM HE WILL NOT TEACH YOU A THING! Type of professor who makes you feel dumb for asking a question, NOT helpful at all, cant spell, huge language barrier. Took online and only passed cuz of the sample reviews. Dont expect to get any help from him, he is SO mean, isnt willing to teach a THING. STAY AWAY!
This class is NOT hard if you study, your final grade will reflect how much time you put into studying. He gave me helpful/timely replies to my e-mails. He is VERY serious about his class, and will not give any breaks. Everything he expects from you will be on his syllabus. This is not an "Easy A" course, you MUST put in your study time.
He is strict, ITS COLLEGE GET USED TO IT BEFORE YOU APPLY TO A UNI. He is so helpful. He tells you EXACTLY what's on the test. He gives you practice exams, which is SOO HELPFUL! Honestly, NOT HARD AT ALL. I took Econ 1 at SMC twice and dropped it with a W, so I had to retake it. I thought I sucked at Econ, but according to Zhang, I rocked at it! :)
I took his online class. even though it was 100% online, I met one of my close friends from his class. He is so helpful, you just need to go to him if you have questions that are not already answered else where. He wants everyone to succeed and is a really nice professor, if you meet him in person you'll know what I mean. Practice exams help A LOT.

Terrible teacher. Took him online. Does nothing to foster communication in online forums. Almost all questions are answered with derision and chiding. Poor written communication skills, making online courses particularly difficult. No real /teaching/ done, beside initial assignment of class materials. Do no take this teacher.
Easy A. Study his notes and practice tests, and you will be OK. Thanks!
Professor Zhang is an awesome teacher, he helped me with great gratitude through out the year. 10/10 teacher. Follow what he says, study his worksheets, and you'll get an A =]
Horrible teacher! he doesn't care about his students. Does not follow syllabus and says that the test may possibly be a day earlier.
Here's a guide to getting an A, Study the practice exams, tests at first are essentially the same as tthe practice test, as time goes on he mixes up the questions 0.o ... Hard huh? if you memorize the practice exams you really cant go wrong... btw don't buy the book, its a complete waste of money.
If you already know economics and need the course, just find the answers to his practice tests and log in 4x a week and you should do fine. I made the mistake of trying to learn from this class, and realized it too late. He clearly loathes online teaching and his communication skills are horrendous. Don't waste your money on his book or the video.
If you have clear mind, you know what kind people post such nasty comments about their professor. I love zhang's online class. It made a big difference for me to not actually attend a class but learned economics (A). He is strict but patient with us as long as you closely follow his instruction online. If you listen, it will be your world.
DO NOT TAKE ZHANG. HE DOES NOT GIVE SAMPLE EXAMS ANYMORE AND DOES NOT PREPARE YOU FOR TESTS. TAKE EDWARDS OR OLMSTED THEY ARE MUCH BETTER. ZHANG SUBJECTIVELY GRADES ON YOUR PRESENTATION AND IF YOU ASK HIM QUESTIONS HE WILL TELL YOU TO CHECK D2L AND HIS SYLLABUS. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE. WORST TEACHER OF ALL TIME. MY FIRST B IN 45 CREDITS...
by far the worst teacher i have ever had..i would've been better off getting a macroecon book and teaching it to myself
Professor Zhang is a FANTASTIC teacher. He is very clear from the beginning about what he expects from his students. He is very knowledgable about the subject and makes economic theory easy and fun to understand by using modern examples. If you read the book and put forth the effort you'll do great in this class.
He is a knowledgable teacher.
I like this teacher. It’s online macroecon! He warned you hard in the beginning. So follow his syllabs and check D2L website CLOSELY! You just need to able to do his sample tests and hw, then you'll fine with the tests. For me, it was easy to get an A if you follow online instruction then study his online materials. Highly Recommended!!
Professor Zhang is strict but knows how to teach and makes everything very clear. He stays focus on the subject and grades fairly. The materials are not that easy but if you take good notes and pay attention in class, you'll get a good grade. I got a B for not working very hard. Just take him.
dont take this teacher.
I am a BIO major who knew NOTHING about this subject. Therefore, this class was VERY hard for me. I ended up with a B because I asked knowledgeable classmates to study with me. His accent is heavy so listen carefully. Learned more than I knew I could and even applied material to Calc this semester. Put in the effort and you will be ok
I took both macro and micro with this guy and didn't have a problem at all. He is very strict and he doesn't teach much in the end and instead lets the students teach which makes things difficult. Even so I got As in both classes. Tests are easy! just study
Took both M01 and M02 with him.Great professor with great personality. No homework except the group presentation which was kinda time consuming to me.Tests are easy just study his powerpoint notes you will get at least a B.He does have a pretty heavy ascent but it wasnt a problem to me.Take him.
It seemed like he wasn't really teaching. He would spend the whole class focusing on one section for the chapter or be completely off track. He expects us not to be late but he was late a lot.Unless you already know about economics and don't mind learning from the internet don't take his class!
I took his class on-line and had to visit his class for some questions several times ...He is a helpful teacher, one of the best that I've had...Just follow his online instruction closely then do the work and you'll do fine!
I took his class on-line...He is a helpful teacher, one of the best that I've had...Just follow his online instruction closely then do the work and you'll do fine! Tests are not hard.
I think if you are already knowledgeable about economics he's easy, but I wasn't. He has an accent that I couldn't get past and was unwelcoming to questions and unapproachable even though I studied really hard. He made us buy an expensive book that we barely used and didn't really teach.
Zhang is a very intelligent teacher. He knows his stuff and preaches about helpful tips in the real world. He actually cares about students. If you ever need any advice about life and choosing the right or reasonable path, ask him. Great teacher! You should take him.
good prof. work hard on his handouts and attend each class, then you'll do will on the exams and benefit from it a lot. I am getting better and better and will major in econ.
Attendance matters—part of participation credit! Read the Chapters and his D2L study guides for each tests, all questions are multiple choices and he tells you what is going to be on the test. And he keeps it simple and interesting so it never got boring. Take it, you'll learn something! I feel worth it.
he's awful i wish i had never signed up for this class or at least had a different teacher.
Don't expect to get an A without going to class or not studying. study his powerpoints and ask questions in class. He is from China, so the norms are different. He doesn't put up with BS. if you study and attend class you will do fine. smart guy, really knows his stuff. better for more mature students
Good teacher. you have to earn your grade tho. study and go to class and you can get an A.
he is the worst instructor ever. He acts like he knows a lot, but he actually doesn't not a thing. He doesn't accept any questions. I really wish i didn't have to take his class, unfortunately he is the only one who has online class.
I took Zhang in Fall 2012 and he is the worst. Heavy accent, arrogant, and disorganized. Do not sign his syllabus agreements. Agreements are legally required to provide rights to both parties and he only gives himself rights. If he forces you to sign, do so under duress. I aced my presentation and he gave me a B because he didn't like me. No good!
This was a tough class, but if you (actually) study, review his notes, stay on point online & attend all his lectures then you will definitely earn an A or B. As a person, I really like Zhang, as an instructor, I also like him. He is crystal clear about what he expects and gives no students special treatment. Definitely recommend him for this class
I took a brk frm college, almost 3yrs.i was taking his class and one other class last semester.I don't understand all the neg comments cuz i thought he was great!ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS READ THE BOOK AND REVIEW HIS POWER POINTS for his tests and one group presentation. Its really not that hard. He actually makes you learn and REMEMBER the materials.
I really like him as a person. He's funny and smart, and knows what he's talking about. But as far as teaching goes- he just doesn't. I've had straight As for 3 semesters at Moorpark until this class (got a B). Just beware the PPT project at the end... interrupted students constantly and graded EVERYONE beyond harsh. Most stressful class...
His class isn't as hard as I thought it would be. The tests are really easy. Just read the book and u'll be fine. He is strict at first but really loosens up as time goes on. He makes you think his exams will be hard but in fact they are extremely easy. Study his review sheets and pay attention to what he says.
Course material isn't necessarily hard. You're on your own for the online course. Don't bother asking teacher for help or clarity, he responds in a very patronizing tone and doesn't seen willing to answer your questions.
I took his class on-line. Zang is a helpful teacher, one of the best that I've had in moorpark. Just follow his majesty, do what he asked in his sylllbus, and you'll do just fine. Easy class and I did learn something!
Zhang is a great teacher. He is a little hard to understand at first, but you eventually get used to his accent. He is super funny, but he is also strict with how he runs his class. I took his M01 and M02 class. Econ comes easy to me, but if you listen, read, and do what he says, you should pass the class!
Took macroµ w Zhang online. He's tough. His english is poor & it shows in his syllabus, tests, & PPTs. Syllabus is extremely intimidating w strict rules, but don't let it scare you. Repeats questions frequently on tests so pay attention to the ones you get wrong. He'll give 19 minutes for a 20 question test so make sure you know your stuff.
Scantrons - 4 Tests and Final 50 Qs-1 hour -Q's difficulty level 1 & 2 out of 5- WAY easy, Lectures get off track (usually for 40 min), patronizes students, won't hand back tests to study from. only goes over a few questions from each test. no make-ups. Drops lowest grade and doubles final. Respond to his in-class q's - or he gets upset at class
Tough class unless econ comes easy to you. He's very clear about the fact that he won't spoonfeed you the subject. Expects you to learn it by your own effort. If you don't get it, he assumes you're not putting enough effort in. Not afraid to patronize students. He is a really funny teacher and a decent person. He appreciates participation in class.
I took Zhang last semester and his class is really straightforward with what he expects of his students. If you do exactly what he says, you will easily pass the class. He gives no homework and your grade is based on the exam grades, but he gives students sample exams and test problems that are very helpful.
If you study the study guides you will pass. The study guides and tests go hand in hand. Just show up for credit (if you dont show up you loose participation points that account for 2% of ur grade). Textbook isnt really mandatory. His class is slightly difficult but you must put in extra effort just like any other class and you'll pass.
He says he won't spoon feed you, but he does, excellent teacher but strict.
He seems intimidating initially like everyone says, but he is not at all. Participate in class and he will love you! Also, if you read his powerpoint slides and skim the chapters it's beneficial. This class was a online/onground combo and it was a breeze. Don't think you'll pass without studying or reviewing material. His accent is not bad at all!
okay professor; doesn't answer questions. all tests/quizzes are online and he reuses the same questions for everything so getting an A was easy. attendance was mandatory or he takes off 2% if you don't email him beforehand. probably wouldn't take again but still got an A. also never used the book DONT BUY WASTE OF MONEY just use his ppt notes
He is definitely a very intelligent economist, however he is not a good teacher. He will go on tangents and then raise his voice at his students when they don't immediately answer his question. There is no reason not to get an A in the class because everything is online and you can google everything during the test.
Prof. Zhang is an amazing teacher. He's very knowledgeable and is quite good at explaining economic concepts. To succeed in his class you should: pay attention during lectures, take meticulous notes, review the provided study sheets and practice exams, and visit him during office hours. My only complaint is that he can get a bit off-topic.
Class is clear cut! Everything is in they syllabus and he sticks to it!
Took his online class for micro and it was not an enjoyable experience. He sent many strange emails and the test were not what the chapters were on. Would not recommend because of how short he gives you for answering the test, 1 min per ?. and some require math and more time. he does give you answers to some of the tests so be sure to print those
He is a very good econ professor. he is willing to take you down to the lake, but he is not gonna make u drink. i mean wants u to think and have an opinion. he is great. yeah, he gives a lot of sample tests and assignments in the beginning, but only to help you have a better grade diversified. However, if u just sit there and not think and do what
I took this professor for both Macro and Micro. This is an easy class to pass. He gave us all of our tests online, so basically open note tests and final! His lectures can be long and boring, but if you pay attention you can learn. Make sure you always print out and bring his powerpoints to class because lectures are heavily based on those.
He doesn't answer any questions that students ask! His tests are easy because all questions are identical to the sample exam. PS: take this class for free credit, but don't expect to learn economy in his class.
I had him for Micro(M201). He isn't a great teacher but the class is an easy A. He reminds me off He goes off on tangents A LOT, if Economics doesn't come naturally to you, make sure to go over the notes at your own time. His exams are almost identical to the sample exams. Also he calls roll everyday. Show up + some effort A
A lot of people like to review the easy professors and Im sorry he isnt one of them. You need to apply yourself but when you do you really understand the material. Super helpful and extremely organized through canvas. Practice questions that help before exams. Definitely recommend!!
His class is test/participation only! There's no extra credit or hw. His tests are almost identical to his practice exams. He's completely available in his office hours, but if you cant take hard criticism. DONT TAKE HIM. Does not like to spoon feed. Take your own book notes, look over his lecture notes, and do the practice exams and youll pass
Professor Zhang provides the material to prepare you for the exams/quizzes. Keep up with the canvas module and there is no reason to be unsuccessful in this class. The format of the class is very organized and follows a routine. The quizzes will prepare you for the exams. He gives you two chances to take exams/quizzes in case of any tech problems.
This class is challenging if you do not read the notes, the professor does a great job preparing you for the exams if you do the practice. The study guides are very similar to the exams. I had a great time taking this class and recommend him if you're wanting to learn Economics.
Took Prof. Zhang's online macro econ course I was extremely happy with not only him but the course over all. You have one assignment per week (quiz or test) and that is all that you're graded on. He is very helpful if you need to reach out with questions and will send you several reminders if you are about to miss an assignment.
Coming into his class, he is very clear on what you will expect from his class. There are 3 tests, final and participation which is your grade. If you follow what he says which include reading his power points and sample tests, you should be fine. Every class period he lectures about chapters and also talks about the real world. Pretty good prof.
MicroEcon is not an easy subject, but Professor Zhang simplifies the concepts and relates it to real life events. He has high energy and a passion towards teaching. He gave us many practice questions and the more you solve the questions, the more you understand the subjects. Besides lecture, watch the videos for clarification, you will get an A.
Go to every class, listen, and ask questions. If you do the study guides over and over, and if you are able to understand and really know the answer to the questions, you will do well on the tests. Every test is cumulative. Barely used the study guide for one test and got a C, studied harder next time and got an A. STUDY THE STUDY GUIDES TO SURVIVE
The class is really hard. The modules isn't related to the test. He never give consideration , no extra credit. A lot of students are experiencing test anxiety and language barrier. Many students get low grade sin his summer class. Don't take
I took an online class, it was really harrd
Pay attention and read PPT, then you will get a good grade. Easy
Not sure why people would say bad things about him. He is clear about grading and class materials are super helpful when taking the tests. Best part of the class is no homework. I wish my other classes were like this format. He doesn't waste your time with busy assignments. Tells you what you need to know.
He is extremely strict about attendance and missing one class is equivalent to losing 20% off your attendance grade but he is a very good teacher and is passionate about economics plus he can be very funny. Also Sample exams are very similar to the actual exams.
Economics is already a hard subject to pay attention to in my opinion but Professor Zhang is fair with his grading. He has an accent and is hard to understand sometimes. He also provides a practice exam that is parallel to the real exam and helps SO MUCH. Thats basically all you have to study. Other than that some students think he is frustrating
I love Zhang! For his Micro-Econ class he makes you print the notes so that it is easy to follow along in class. In his notes include practices tests which are very similar to the exams. He's super cool and funny. His syllabus is really clear so you know what to expect.
Professor Zhang is a knowledgeable and talented educator. I took both his in-class micro-econ course and online macro course. His classes are very informative and entertaining and his lectures will keep you engaged with the subject material. Your grade in his classes will rely on attendance and a few exams, so show up and study and you'll succeed.
Amazing professor overall! Economics is a difficult subject but with him it was very enjoyable. He is extremely knowledgeable and is willing to help any student who is willing to try. He provides many sources of studies such as YouTube videos, notes, lectures and a practice exam for every get that is almost identical to the real one.
Professor Zhang is a great professor for online Micro and Macroeconomics. Do the reading and look at the slides and you will be good! He is also amazing because any time you don't take a test he will email you to make sure you take it! Nice to see a professor care that much to reach out and remind you!
The course is straight-forward, Professor Zhang gives you everything you need to be successful. I found that utilizing resources such as the (study guides, PPTs, etc.) helped me obtain the grade I was looking for. IMPORTANT: Repetition is key with the study guides! Lastly, pay attention to the due dates and always ask for clarification when needed!
Professor Zhang's online ECONM201 class is one that I would recommend! As someone who has a unrelated major, I found this class challenging, yet very informative. I genuinely learned a lot being in Professor Zhang's class and felt successful. He sets up his guidelines and assignments very clearly, so you know exactly what you need to do!
This online macroeconomics class is amazing. Really easy to understand and follow, only based on weekly exams/quizzes. This professor is very direct, which I really respect. To pass, you just need to keep up with the modules and use the opportunity of being able to take the test again.
I would recommend taking professor Zhang's online M201! he is very clear about his grading criteria, and if you put in the work you will see it reflected in your grades. I would take him again.
Online class was good. Gave us information about Microeconomics and all of its features to it. Zhang was a good online teacher and I learned from this class.
I took both micro and macro econ online with professor Zhang, I had a great experience. He prepares you well for the tests (do the reading, go over the slides, and do the practice tests, which prepared you well for the test) Some concepts required repetition, yet it was nothing over the top, he even provides helpful youtubes to explain concepts.
Material was very organized and easy to access. All due dates are posted on the first day of class, so it is very clear when everything is due.
He is awesome. Take his class if you want to get an easy A. I also learned a lot from his lectures. Easy to understand. One of the best professors I've had for an online class. He is very clear regarding turning in assignments and the exams.
Good Professor, lectures are well done, a lot of informational videos that make it easy to understand the material. I liked his online class, would definitely recommend him.
I've taken Prof. Zhang for Micro and Macro and both of his courses provide an intensive knowledge in Economics. You will leave his course being economically literate. He applies all his lectures to real life which is incredibly helpful. His classes engaged me so much that I actually changed my major to Business Econ! Highly recommended!!
He is a fair teacher. He only has 4 tests the entire semester including the final. If you study the PowerPoints and the practice exams there is no reason you shouldnt ace every test. He uses similar or identical questions from the practice exam on his tests. If you understand the subject and have good study habits you will easily pass the course.
He is probably one of the worst teachers at Moorpark. I am a straight A student and I got a B in his class. You cannot understand him because of his thick accent. He thinks he is funny, but he is not. He is very rude. I would NOT recommend him at all!!
Professor Zhang is a very fair professor. Class was easy to pass & attendance is mandatory. No homework & his lectures cover most of the material that will be on the test but you do have to put in work outside of class if you wanna do well. His practice tests are VERY rewarding and VERY similar to the test do them and youll b fine.10/10 recommend
Prof Zhang is very fair. Your entire grade depends of 3 tests, a final, and participation. His class is fairly easy, the tests can be very rewarding if you do the practice tests. The people who didnt do well on his tests probably didnt study the practice tests or put in work out side of class. I would take him again.
The class involves 4 tests (including the final) and a participation grade (based off attendance) and that is all. He gives you enough example questions in his handouts to prepare you to easily get an A on his tests. Just put in the work and this class should not be all that hard.
Would constantly waste class time by going on tangents of off topic issues and discussions. Another major portion of class time was spent explaining how students don't understand what was being taught rather than teaching the material itself. I had to teach myself mostly (ACDC Econ) and learned more in 20 min than what takes him two classes to do.
Professor Zhang is awesome. One of the better professors I have ever had. He makes lectures fun and interesting and is really accessible outside of the classroom. He doesn't give away A's or passes. You will need to show up and work. As he is quick to say, "you get what you earn, no free lunches!"
Professor Zhang is a great professor. Attendance is mandatory, you are only allowed two absences, and will lose points for any more. His lectures are great and informative and he starts class by showing real world economic information to tie into his lectures. You are graded by 4 tests, meaning no homework. If you use his study guides, you'll pass.
I was scared to take Zhang from the reviews. Ended up learning SO MUCH. Peers complain that he freq rants how his students don't excel or put effort- 1) His class is an easy A, he may seem strict but notes(vry concise) WILL prepare you for exams, 2) his argument is valid- we are spoiled and 3) study the practice tests- takes directly from them.
This course is independent learning with a great deal of instructor support. There are no assignments, his tests are fair and grading is straight-forward. He gives enough material and information to succeed in his class. You will definitely learn about economics and develop great study skills.
Taking Prof. Zhang was great! The class is very structured and he's very strict with attendance and how we organize our notes but in retrospect, everything done was helpful. The class is based on 4 tests but with the sample exams he provides, it's almost difficult not to pass. Very helpful lectures!
I really enjoyed Zhang's class. Make sure to pay attention because tests are not easy and he can go fast during lecture. Great guy who actually cares about his students. He rounded my 89.7 to an A even after saying all semester he doesn't round. Also wrote me a letter of rec that helped me get accepted to a school I wanted to transfer to. Awesome
Amazing instructor, really helped me out with any questions. Just get the work done and it is an easy A. He's very helpful.
Professor Zhang is a well-educated professor who displays experience not by promoting, but by teaching. Professor Zhang, while sometimes on the stricter side regarding the class structure, still maintains approachability. His courses are clear cut, logical, and organized to adequately prepare students for the formidable study that is Economics.
Sets a clear and consistent schedule of modules and assignments. Plenty of time to complete each assignment, even sends personal emails to remind you about things you need to do. Quizzes and exams build upon each other so make sure you dont skip chapters and theres no reason not to get a good grade. Taking again next semester for micro.
Prof. Zhang was a good teacher, he made sure we had all the material needed in order to succeed in the class. He was very accommodating and always double checked that you are aware of the assignments and tests, so you would not miss them. Great teacher.
an amazing online class. it was so easy and he was beyond helpful for a online teacher he really sets the class up so everyone should pass. he even would remind us with emails that a quiz was due soon or a test.
I took this class for my major, and had a fun, memorable experience. Professor Zhang is solid, and brings positive energy to the classroom. He gives all notes and study guides at the beginning of class, and really sets you up to succeed in the future. STUDY the material he gives you!
I highly recommend Professor Zhang. I enjoyed going to class every week, he made micro econ enjoyable, and we also talked about real-world events. If you study the study guide he generously provides, you will surely pass with a good grade! I learned a lot, too, by studying the study guides. Take his class, and you will not regret it.
If you have anxiety I would not recommend this professor because he will randomly call on people. What he expects from his students is very clear so there is no room for mistakes or excuses. He can get frustrating sometimes because he does tend to cut people off when they ask a question. Other than that he is a very good Professor who cares.
Took both microecon & macroecon online with Professor Zhang and I am just glad they are done. I felt like I did not retain any of the knowledge, and there were absolutely ZERO assignments, ONLY quizzes and tests. Absolutely no extra credit and no late or makeup work, even if you have a medical excuse. Did not enjoy him or his class.
Took the online course. The way the class was conducted was convenient. Once a week you either have a quiz or a test and you can take the quiz/ test anytime during the week. There are no assignments. He provides you with all of the learning materials. Good course.
Professor Zhang is a good teacher. Do the work and review it before the test, you will pass.
I took this as my first ECON class and I had a very good experience. Professor Zhang has a very simple class outline that makes it extremely easy to manage, especially online. I would HIGHLY recommend taking this class ONLINE.
Enjoyed this class and learned a lot. The quizzes/exams are super straight-forward and the study guides provided are really helpful. Definitely recommend this course!
Took his Micro + Macro. No homework, only quizzes and tests. Textbook is not required but is a much-needed tool to be prepared for great grades. His notes are easy, his test examples are winners, the supplemental videos he provides are highly engaging/ incredibly applicable. One of the best professors at Moorpark College. 10/10 recommend. DO IT. A+
Took his Micro in-class/Macro online. Online was just the same as attending in-class. Great for busy schedules. He truly prepares you for the exams. His notes are clear, his videos are a blessing, and his exams are extremely easy- if you are an average student. Great professor. You won't exactly be "spoon-fed" so act as the college student you are.
Prof Zhang uses the lecture to teach you textbook information while simultaneously applying it to what is happening in the world today. You're not only signing up for a letter grade but actual real-world applications. I've learned so much from his class and it's prepared me to be a well-informed citizen who makes smarter decisions! Thank you, Prof!
Professor Ray uses his very old testing material and it is one of the reasons he won't give you back the test. But then, how would you learn if you don't know the right answer? Also, most of his test have mistakes, and you better point them out to him, otherwise he takes points off. His testing sheets are based on old Economics information.
Professor Zhang is a very straight-forward professor. He tells you what you need to do in the class to do well. If you don't you may struggle. That being said, he prepares you well and lays out the material for the entire semester way in advance. He is extremely funny and always cracks jokes. Overall great professor and I respect him a lot!
Online class that was self taught... not a lot to base his teaching off of but the class was fine.
I really liked the way professor Zhang arranged his modules. The videos assigned to each new topic were a very useful feature provided to complement the lesson. Very clear with what is due and when it's due. The two attempt quiz taking method is an intuitive way to solve the issue of bad connection or other problems a student may experience too.
I took Microeconomics with Professor Zhang and he made sure to give you all of the resources needed to get a good grade, it's just all on you to study because that is needed of course.
Professor Zhang sent out a reminder a few days before an assignment, quiz, or final is due. He usually responds fast in a direct manner. Always read the syllabus before asking him a question b/c you usually can find the answer there. If not, he's always answers your questions or any comments.
The expectations were clear and you got two attempts on tests/quizzes. Lectures were relatively short and easy to understand. I would absolutely take his class again. Despite it being asynchronous, I still learned a lot and it was very clear how to achieve an A
Took Professor Zhang for M201 and M202 online, very manageable workload and gives all the materials needed to succeed. Stay on top of the work, go over the practice exams, and participate. No reason not to get an A unless you aren't trying.
He doesn't care about you or your feelings. No remorse type of guy. Sends 1035824542 emails if you don't take your test/quiz 5 days before the due date. No lectures just quizzes and tests. Easy A though.
This class is not that difficult. You don't need to buy the textbook, I found that the practice exams were much more helpful because the questions are the same as they are on the real test. Tests are cumulative. You'll always get two attempts on each test or quiz, which are the only assignments that you have. Don't stress about his reminder emails.
Ridiculous professor. Very rude in outside correspondence and makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Very deceptive in emails, he does not care about his students.
I toke principles of micro-econ and basically theres 5 quizzes and 5 exams and theyre easy and theres no hw class is at your own pace but get everything done on time cause he wont let u do anything late dont worry about his reminder emails youll be fine tbh it if you get anything under a A its your own fault cause the class is a breeze
Easiest class I've ever taken. All of the quizzes and tests can be found online. Just listen to the videos he provides and read the articles and you should be good. His grading is mostly determined by quizzes and tests.
Really easy class. If you want an easy A, this professor is your best choice. You won't actually learn much about economics. He does relate what little we do learn with current events, which is nice. He will send you an email the day before tests reminding you to do them. If you're an econ major, take this class but learn on your own outside of it.
All you really need to do is to do the practice quizzes and you'll be fine! You get two attempts on everything.
This class is so easy, so do not expect to learn anything. I think that if you want to actually learn, do not take classes with this professor. Everything is based on test/quiz.
This professor goes off-topic a lot. His online class is much better, you can do everything when you want to, and learn how you want to. The exams and quizzes have two tries every time, and they are all repeat questions from past exams so they are really easy. Do the assignments and take note of past exam questions and you'll get an A for sure.
Super easy class. His power points are a little outdated but he has lot of other resources to learn from. He's always keeping us up to speed with articles and readings that are not mandatory. His quizzes/tests are cumulative.
Took this class in 2021 fully-online. Super easy class, not much involvement from the professor other than replying in discussion posts. Quizzes and tests are very easy and not proctored. Discussion posts do require some more effort to meet his requirements, but they're not that difficult either. Don't expect to learn a whole lot of new concepts.
Great Prof. with a passable class
Class is easy if you do everything. Professor is lazy. Does not grade anything himself it is all done by the computer. You can not contact him at all no email no chat. He is not flexible and he won't work with you. LITERALLY DOES NOTHING. The only thing he grades is the intro assignment and it took him over a month.
Class was very easy but professor is not involved at all. The course work is through a program where you would complete both the exams and homework. I would complete my work before its due yet the professor still reported me as a student who is not doing the work "on time," it was ridiculous.
Professor Zhang was a great professor who taught us how to think about the economy from the Microe standpoint. The class is required to buy "Knewton" for $40. Its where all the homework, quizzes, and exams are. Follo his syllabus! Don't procrastinate on anything trust me!!
Easy A. Take 4 week course it's all online and computer graded. Just do the work on time you'll be fine. The professor is nice and will remind you before assignments are due, however, the professor doesn't respond to emails. Don't beat yourself up over a 90 vs a 95. It may say it's an A- in Canvas, but it's still an A even at a 90.
Class is graded exclusively on a series of multiple choice quizzes of varying grade weight. Professor doesn't grade a thing. Easiest and least educational class at Moorpark College. Take the class if it's a GE, but if you're an econ major and/or you want to learn the material, this is one to skip. Can't emphasize enough how easy the class was.
Great Professor to take if you are interested in economics. At the start of every class he goes over the days market with the class and talks about real world economics not just the theory of it. Please take this class if you need the credit you will not regret it I promise.
Professor Zhang is a great teacher and has done a great job teaching this subject. His explanations were good and clear, making it easy for students
Professor berated a student for getting up to use the bathroom during class.
Professor Zhang is the GOAT of economics. Best and easiest class I've ever taken. Just do the assisngments which take 10 minutes and you will get an A.
Prof Zhang is aight. If you can understand ECON hes just like any prof. He's really strict & will treat you like an adult so be prepared for it. There's not inheritly wrong with his class or good about it, it's just sort of meh.
Professor has a very long syllabus and has 2 quizzes on it. Homework is for credit and not based on how many questions you get correctly. The professor has a very picky way of emailing him. Barely gives enough time for tests and quizzes. Gives you 2 tries on tests and quizzes including the final.
Professor has a very long syllabus and has 2 quizzes on it. Homework is for credit and not based on how many questions you get correctly. The professor has a very picky way of emailing him. Barely gives enough time for tests and quizzes. Gives you 2 tries on tests and quizzes including the final.
I did not rely of professor help very often but the tools available during the course were vary helpful for achieving a good grade.
Professor Zhang is meticulous about most things but he is very straightforward. I liked taking his class because we would learn most from his PowerPoint slides and Newton while in class, he would review and go in deeper on the material. He does take attendance in every class so be sure to attend.
Professor's classes are easy and computer-graded. The syllabus is long, but with unstuckstudy AI and the textbook, you can do well. Just stay on top of assignments.
He is one of the strangest professors I've seen yet. His lectures are mostly spent on reading the daily news and seeing why the market went down or went up on any particular day. This results in him having his lectures be very far behind what you're actually learning. Extremely easy class though, homework is repeatable and exams can be done twice.
He never answered emails and made a lot of weird comments about election results. He also lacks empathy. I emailed him asking for a quiz extension because I was in the emergency room and he said that I should have done the quiz earlier in the week and not procrastinated, and my quiz was still due tomorrow at 11:59pm.
A lot of what you learn from his course is from reading the online textbook. Has lecture notes that he has you print out so you can follow along but the entire semester he didn't give one full lecture. Talks about the market and other random topics every class that don't match the chapter you're supposed to be on. Missing class lowers your grade.
Absolute joke of a professor. Zhang dropped me in week 4 despite 100% completion, full participation, and paying for materials. No warning, no reason, just an arbitrary move that forced me to scramble mid-semester. Completely unprofessional. His arrogant announcements prove he enjoys pointless authority. Embarrassing that Moorpark keeps him around.
If you have to take this professor I'm so sorry for you and good luck. Do not even bother emailing him because you will be met with a rude remark and an odd quote from a philosopher. I am positive they let anyone be professors nowadays as somehow Ray Zhang is still one. You just do a program and rarely speak with him and if you have a problem GL.
He is kinda mean, I feel he tries to hide his hate towards student with "can you handle the truth" phrase, then he just throw the most random stuff. You can think of him as the uncle who everyone hates and is constantly being excluded from family reunions. He doesn't really teach you stuff, its just reading the smart book, didn't learn anything.
Never talked to the guy ever. As for the course, 40% of your grade is from Knewton Alta, takes about 30 minutes a week with unlimited attempts. Quiz and test are 2 attempts and pretty simple. Its a pretty easy to follow course and it does effectively teach, just submit your assignments on time and have 5th grade math skills and you'll pass.
Honestly if you do just your work, tests, quizzes, and assignments on time you wont have any issues getting a good grade in this class. I've never had to email him for anything so I can't speak on that part, but just do your work and you'll be fine.
All of his assignments were open until the course ended, which seems fair and also accessible, as it allows you to finish your assignments by the due date. I have not once emailed the professor, so I do not know how he personally is. As long as you do your work, you can pass with an easy A.
Don't email him, very picky when he is emailed and he gets rude, he even has a format for that. He isn't involved in class since he doesn't grade anything, he uses the platform Knewton that does grade instead of him. Easy class when completing coursework but the quality is not very good, easy to pass but learn outside of the class if you take it.
Prof Zhang is super wholesome and relatable, actually responds to emails quickly, and makes the class easy to follow. The assignments app is simple to use, and the class isn't stressful or a headache at all. 10/10 would totally recommend.
He kind of doesn't do much as a professor and makes Knewton atla do all of the teaching. There were actually SO many assignments too which would take me hours to complete. He also never responded to the one email I sent. I personally would only take his class if you have no other choice.
This was a very easy Econ class that I would take again and again. Besides having to purchase Knewton to do the work, I have no complaints. We need more professors like Professor Zhang!
I took Principles of macroeconomics with Ray and it was a great class. Fairly easy just a good amount of reading with the program you have to buy. Ray makes due dates clear and will not extend time so just make sure to be on top of your work.
