Prof. Webb is a funny guy. He's from kentucky but don't let his southern quips put you off, he's a great teacher and isn't afraid to go out on a limb. He has a great sense of humor and an inovative teaching style, where he's open to new and fun approaches
he has to be one of the hottest professors I have ever had.....
Hot...Hot...Hot....plus, he's a great teacher.
I think it is funny when I am with a group of people and we find ourselves talking about going to SWIC.if history comes up, Ray Webb will be the topic of conversation for the next 30 minutes.even some of my guy friends had the hots for him...now thats hot
His class is like story time for big kids and before you even realize it, your learning.
Ray is one of the coolest guys youll ever meet. i went to europe with him and had a blast, i recommed anyone to go on one of his trips with him and youll have a good time
Mr. Webb is great! His class is so interesting and upbeat. He's extremely down to earth and incredibly HOTT! I definatly recommend him. He makes SWIC worth while.
Webb was a great teacher. The Class was middle eastern History. The only hard thing about the class was that alot of the names sounded similar that you had to study. Dates aren't a big deal and taking notes and be in class mixed with a lil' hard work will really pay off I promise. Just try...you'll do fine.
Ray Webb is probably the best teacher I have ever had. His class is fun and interesting. I definatly recommend him...u won't regret it. And to top it off...hes oh so hot!
Great teacher. All you have to do to excel in his class is take really good notes and listen in class. i don't even think i opened the book once.
Everybody loves Mr. Webb.
Mr. Webb is an awesome teacher. Just like the previous quotes everybody likes Mr. Webb. He makes learning history very easy. Watching him teach convinced me to become a history teacher. He is very fair and very interesting. If you have a chance to take Mr. Webb I highly recommend it.
practically no usage of visual aids.
he is always willing to help. gives solid review sheets. always ask about the essay questions, becuase they might not be the ones you thought they would be. Put in the work and he will notice and help you.
He's so witty and he has the best fashion sense. Absolutely fetching.
Mr. Webb was a man that I admired so much attending Junior College, he along with a few others Inspired me to become the teacher that I dream of. The things I learned from him I will most surely carry on to my next life. I wish I could take him to Uni with me. If You work hard, respect him, you'll get the most out of his class.
I could go on forever about how gorgious he is, but i could go on longer about how much of a great teacher he is. I had him for middle east history which is a pretty cool class...but his teaching style is great. He's such a funny guy to expect to laugh a lot. As for his class...the first test I got a 100/100...so they're not too bad..
He doesn't stay on track with the syllabus so don't bother trying to plan too far ahead for his class. He shows up late often. He may take up to two weeks for his students to receive graded exams. It took him two months to grade my paper and return it to me. He has no sense of urgency. The final was easy. His style is horrible!
Mr. Webb is a great history teacher. He is passionate about the information he is teaching. sooooooo hot want to touch the hiney!
I really liked this class. I like Ray's teaching style. While he tends to get a bit off track, he doesn't let things get out of hand. his tests are pretty difficult, especially the fill in the blank questions. READ THE TEXT
Great teacher, really likes what he is teaching about. I recomend taking him.
As long as you read the chapters and take good notes you will do fine. No visual aids, just straight lecture, so you have to pay attention. He goes off on random tangents but he's nice to look at. Show up to class because attendance is part of your final grade. Decent class and even if history is not your thing this class is worth taking.
Good teacher. All oral lecture, no slides or visuals. He covers a lot of stuff not in the book and it will be on the tests so take good notes. Don't think you are going to cut up in class, he will not tolerate it. He does encourage intelligent questions. Points for attendance and punctuality. One research paper and final is old test questions.
Very intelligent, and very friendly. He really pulls you into what he is lecturing on and makes it very interesting. His little side jokes that relate to pop culture or other references make his classes a blast and I highly, highly recommend that you take his classes if you are taking history
Very upbeat and friendly. He lectures very well.
Jump around digresses, skips class, does not account for different learning styles. Not a teach just a personality more worried about be cool and friendly with students than teaching them something useful. Unless u have matured past high school values DO NOT TAKE HIM HE IS A JOKE
Great teacher, good person, very helpful.
Awsome and sexy!!
Mr. Webb makes class interesting and subjects such as Middle Eastern history relatable. He has a lot of energy and usually brings it to the lectures. If you need help he makes himself available. One of the best teachers I've had. I would recommend this class to anyone.
Professor Webb is a phenomenal teacher! He makes understanding the work a breeze and tries to relate quite a bit to the modern times. He's very straight forward. People who like to slack off and not attend class shouldn't take him because he expects his students to be disciplined, which at this age you should be.Also has a great fashion sense
If you can take 115 online. It is great. You can will 10 points for one post per week and they are worth 6 points. That's right he will give you more points then possible.
student needs to work hard, but you will get a lot out of class.
I had Webb for 20th century history and he made the class fun and intersting. I think that the class is easy if you come to class and listen. I never had to study and got an A. Mr Webb is really cool and if you get his jokes you will have a good time.
Had mr. webb for Mid-east history and for such a complicated subject that I had no knowledge of going into he made it easy to understand. I will say READ THE BOOK...at keast skim the chapter before class because if no one knows what is going on he can get pissed.
Mr. Webb is awesome! He explains everything in chronological order, and even slides a joke in once in awhile. I loved him! I am hoping for an A when I am done with his class. He is strict on attendance, but if you cover 500+ years of history in a day and you miss of course you will fail!
Ray Webb is quite easily the most charismatic professor I've ever met. He is good-humored, helpful, and was very informative about a wide range of class-related (and unrelated) topics. Even if you hate history, if you ever have the opportunity to take a class of his, do it.
He knows quite a bit about the subject and is pretty easy going. I took this course online and each week a chapter question and response is required. The tests are definition based, you must answer 10 up to 5 sentences between. A term paper is necessary but he assigns the subject. Grading is kind of slow, but he tries to respond to questions quickly
AWESOME!!!!!!
He is awesome. He talks a lot but he make it to the point you want to litsen and hear what he has to talk about. But make sure you study for his test
Professor Webb is a great teacher! I have never been interested in history and he made class very entertaining. If you read before class then you will do great
Great teacher, has a bit of a temper at times, especially if students don't read prior to class. Alot of it is based on discussion and if you pay attention you will easily get an A. He will drop you if you don't attend. Half my class was dropped for this reason.
Professor Webb is definitely a cool guy, without a doubt. But let's be honest, as a teacher, I'd avoid him. If you're taking History 101 or 102 because you think it will be easy (if you plan to take it with him) you're mistaken. His tests are almost all writing and he expects you to know a lot in great detail. Lesson: great guy, difficult class.
Very charismatic professor, but don't let it fool you into thinking that it's an effortless class. Pay attention and read through the book! It's not difficult, especially since he's a clear and interesting speaker.
Had Prof. Webb twice, for World Civ. and Middle Eastern Hist. He required a research paper in each class, and he is strict on grammar and he can tell if you put a lot of time on it. He is a smart a$$, so if your pride gets hurt easy, don't take him. He also tends to go on tangents. Overall, he's an amazing instructor and would recommend him.
I didn't like him at first but towards the end of the semester I didn't mind him. He is very hipster.
He is really helpful and his lectures are really interesting and applicable. I highly recommend taking one of his classes.
He's amazing! Funny and very confident in his teaching. I wasn't very interested in the topic but his tests are straight forward. Does tend to wander into off topics but it's very entertaining. Totally would take another one of his classes. 5 stars for him!
Really great teacher, he is funny, and keeps everyone entertained. However, he only grades the tests and a paper. The tests are super hard, and doing bad on the test can make you fail the class.
Mr. Webb is awesome! Beware though, he does have a bad side and if you are on it this class will be very difficult for you. He is super funny, made Mid-Eastern History interesting. He gets distracted during lectures from time to time. Tests are challenging but not difficult if you study what he puts on the study guide. Awesome history class.
I am now in my second class with Professor Webb. If you do not study his tests are brutal, but you can use them at the end for the final. You also really need to read the book and the notes. Would keep taking him if possible.
Took this class online not as difficult. He is readily available to answer questions when needed.
Dr. Webb was such a fascinating teacher, and had an unreal amount of energy at 8 a.m. He is knowledgable about such a wide range of historical subjects and is able to distill even the most complicated historical events into an understandable format. Would definitely take him again.
I loved taking his class. His lectures jump around a bit, but if you put a box around his tangents, they make logical sense in how they're presented. I loved sitting through his lectures. He's very clear on what you need to know for the tests, he gives you a sheet with all the topics you may need to know. He genuinely cares about students.
Ray Webb was a phenomenal professor. I had him a few years back for Mid-Eastern history. Great guy, intelligent, high energy all day long. He cares about his students succeeding, but will not once hold your hand. His class isn't hard if you read the material and participate in discussion.
Great teacher can't wait for fall to take him again
As long as you did the scheduled readings, did the homework posts, and used the study guides; tests were more than reasonable. The final was cumulative & a combo of 2 past tests & new material. Responded immediately to emails, so that made communication great. Posted grades within the week of tests. Great teacher! Definitely take him!
He's a very nice teacher but the class was too hard for me. He graded a few things. The test were too hard I literally studied 3 hours and still passed the test the test was very detailed. It was 4 test and paper, no homework.
I love Ray. he makes class fun and its the only part of Tuesdays that I look forward to. he's a bit behind on memes but thats excusable. he's really a great teacher and I would love to take another class with him.
He's a funny, high energy guy, who really cares about the students. He gives very clear lectures, and the tests were reasonable. I definitely recommend his class.
I really enjoyed this class. I thought it was too easy and I wasn't doing enough work. He was very clear in what he expected of the students and he replied back to emails promptly. I would take a class again. He even allowed me to redo the very first posting because I didn't do so good.
He took the time during attendance to actually ask how we were doing. He really cared about each student. His lectures were interesting because he would use examples for almost each scenario which helped me understand and learn the material better. I did have to study outside of class, but it was worth it. He is among the best professors i've had!
Work was very standard. Easy to get good grades if you use the study guide. Responds quickly and willing to meet with you if you need extra help.
His class is honestly one of the worst classes I've taken. He never grades anything, and his "study guide" for each exam is a vague list of a 150+ things that you have to know about. So you have to just take a bunch of notes and hope you know the exact thing that he asks on the exam. And if not hope you can google on your phone fast since its timed
Professor Webb is one of the best professors Iv'e had. He is most definitely the most understanding and flexible. I took his online class because I work full time and he was very flexible with exam dates and is very willing to work with you about your grade. I really just think he wants to see his students successful. His exams/sa are very easy
The course was all lecture, you take notes and participate in class and you read the chapters and then you take a test. There was one paper that he gave months notice on and was more than helpful with if you had questions. He was fantastic and really made learning ancient history fun for me. I honestly enjoyed it.
The model of what an "old school" professor should be, just a straight up radiant guy who genuinely cares about his students and pushes everyone to succeed. Definitely at least skim your textbook before class so you can participate and follow the plot. 4 tests and a paper which is due around the 10th would, not too difficult.
I had a really hard time with this class, the only grades for an entire semester were 4 tests and a research paper! I have health issues and missing his class sets you up to fail!
My experience in this class was somewhat good, however as a professor he needs to stop going off topic( he literally starts talking about such random things that are irrelevant). I dont like how your overall grade is based on test, attendance, and participation. I couldve done much better in this class, but his teach style needs to be fixed.
Professor Webb is not only a great teacher, but an even better guy. His class is the only class that I NEVER missed. Not because I had to go but because I actually wanted to be there. He wants his students to do well and is always willing to help his students. He is however very sarcastic and will call his students out... he's always joking though.
Ray is the best teacher I have ever had, he is hilarious and I had a lot of fun listening to him lecture. I passed without taking any lecture notes, the textbook is extremely important to have. He always prioritizes our understanding whether its a ancient religion or when and where the test is. I highly recommend this class!
Professor Webb is dope af. I highly recommend his class. The only grades for this class are the tests and a research paper, so do be aware of that.
Overall, this class was pretty easy. There's zero homework besides a research paper. Professor Webb is probably my favorite professor that I have had at SWIC. He's super funny and actually makes lectures enjoyable. He clearly enjoys teaching and cares about the students.
Professor Webb is awesome. He is funny and charismatic. It is a shame that there are only about 4 grades in his class: 2 exams, a research paper, and the final. Its easy to slip up and get a bad grade because theres no homework. That was a part I didnt like. Otherwise a good teacher.
He is the best history teacher I have gotten out of my entire school career. He tends to go off topic sometimes, but overall his discussions usually relate to the topic. He is very respectful and tries to talk with every student and gives us plenty of chances. The class only has 4 tests and a research paper, there is no homework. Very stress free.
Webb was a great guy going to his class was always a joy because him and my classmates got along well and joked a lot. Since Covid is still a thing, the tests were online and they were pretty easy if you paid any attention at all. He is always worried about offending someone though, always seems to walk on egg shells, but overall cool guy.
He was awesome
Ray is, by far, my favorite professor I've had. He is charismatic as all get out, and though sometimes he jokes too much or goes on tangents, he is ultimately very effective at imparting knowledge on a fun, inclusive environment.
The guy rocks.
This class was easy. There was a weekly attendance where we had to post a question about the chapter we were reading. Then overall, we had 5 discussion posts, also easy. The tests are easy and there is only one paper. I would give him a 5/5, however, he was not the best at responding to emails, it took a few days to get a response. Good class!
Mr. Webb has been one of my favorite teachers ever. He's really funny and is a very effective teacher. I would highly recommend taking a class with him if you can.
Prof. Webb was by far my favorite professor each year. I've taken each of his classes, and his eagerness to help and teach made sure that I've passed each one.
Professor Webb was awesome, and he enjoys what he does. He will make fun of you (all in good fun) so beware lol, pay attention & take lots of notes & youll do good.
This class was alright, but definitely could have been better.
Easiest class ever if you take it online! Not a tough grader on the paper or tests
Made his lectures very interesting and funny. Tests on stuff mainly in his lectures but some questions can be from the book. Tests can be hard for someone who is not great at memorizing. Actively cared about students. Does base a part of the grade on participation and attendance.
His classes were hilarious and engaging. He was always trying to connect the dots to modern day events that would help us understand things easier. He would constantly make conversation with you every single day, and that was amazing to be part of. Especially if it was your first semester in college and very intimidated by everything (aka me lol).
Mr. Webb was a great instructor. The class I took was really lecture-focused, but the lectures were entertaining and he had lots of great, funny stories to tell. I really recommend taking a class of his if you need a history credit.
Easily my favorite professor at SWIC. Professor Webb is extremely accommodating, hilarious, and full of energy compared to most of the professors at SWIC. While his tests can be a bit difficult, the final exam, paper, and attendance points can score you an easy passing score. Easy credits for history.
This was a fairly easy course to do online but the tests were a lot of work to complete.
Professor Webb was the best, he gets to know his students and absolutely loves his job, heavy but really great lectures
The class is largely graded over attendance and tests, so showing up is important. Mainly lecture and discussion based, some reading would be good before the test to ensure you are more familiar with the material. Overall, a great professor who helped re-spark my interest in history, with a funny and light-hearted personality.
Awesome and quick online course. Would love to have this professor again in the future.
This class was perfect over the summer, with clear assignment requirements, generous due dates, and great workloads. The subject matter was interesting overall and the textbook was covered in perfect time, I recommend this as a summer course. Expect weekly attendance postings, one couple paragraph post every few weeks, one paper, and 3 tests.
Very clear criteria and expectations, with very tame amounts of work. Insanely laid-back and easy to talk to, one of my favorite instructors. Class material was interesting and fun to learn!
Professor Webb's HIST101 class is a fun, engaging experience. Lectures are entertaining, and he really connects the material to modern-day relevance. To succeed, attend class, read the textbook, and use study tools like unstuck ai for prep. Solid history credit.
pretty chill guy, would definitely take his class again.
He tries to make learning History fun. Can't be mad about that. Study for the tests and you should be fine.
Responsive to emails. Fair grading. Overall pleasant.
Does not take long to respond to emails, very respectful, fixes mistakes on her end. Assignments are easy, she doesn't ask for much just literally read a chapter and write one or two paragraphs a week. Tests are kind of scary but there's only 2 plus the final.
