Math 112 with Raymond was fun... I took this class in summer and I pass it with an A...! and the reason why I think it was really good because you don't feel any pressure whatsoever like in the other Math classes. It's true he jokes to much sometimes a little bit too much but he is really cool. Math is not my favorite subject but he made it easy.

I took most of my courses with him. He is the reason I changed my major to math. While I was at LACC, he was an excellent, enthusiastic, fun, and knowledgeable teacher. I respect him and so I don't see how his eating disorders affect our learning. I'll get my MS this year and want to thank Raymond for being an inspiration!

Great teacher, u do have to read the book!. He gives extra points. Tests are tricky but one learns. Many people might say that he doesn’t teach or that he goes too fast, but he always asks us to read the chapter before class. He asks if we have any questions but not many do because they just don’t read.

A loved this class. Although he may be sarcastic, I don't mind at all because I know that whatever he says is not true about myself so i just don't pay any attention to that at all. This study makes you work on your own. If you have a background on stats and excel take this class, if not then i recommend a traditional class.

One of the best Instructors at LACC. He is a nice man, so if you are having a trouble with a math, than thats your problem. Math is a hard subject, and you need to put a lot of effort in order to do good. So, if you didn't study enough, don't try to blame the instructors. Study hard, and you will like the subject.

At first I thought that I would not like his style because He seemed a bit inaccessable but after talking to him, he was very helpful. After the 1st exam things got a lot easier. If you do what he tells you, it gets hard not to pass his class.

I loved the class. I mastered Excel and I am happy about that. The statistics formulas? I don't remember a single one by now, but I remember how Raymond made me and others laugh till we cried sometimes. Piece of advice: if you don't like the first lecture, just leave and don't hate:)

The book is crap but he takes a lot of the test questions from the exercises. All tests are open book-- including the final. Stats is hard but if you attend class, do the book exercises, and learn how to do the Excel functions u can easily get an A. Educosoft quizzes are pointless-- focus on the book exercises first.

I like Raymond. He does cover material fast, and has a tendency to make students feel dumber than they actually are (with a sense of humor), but he is fair. He provides you with lectures, PowerPoints and plenty of examples in the textbook. He gives you what you need to succeed. I think many criticisms on here are more about Stats than the prof.

I took Raymond and he is amazing. Yes he can joke around but its very funny. If you are sensitive don't take his class. But you will not find another stats teacher easier then him. He lets you use microsoft excel so if you are good with computers you'll pass. He passed me. Giving me an option to retake my final for a better grade. He really cares.

If you are sensitive don't take his class, he jokes often; or if you are bad with computers. He teaches stats his own way with his own textbook. He lets us use excel on exams which makes it much easier if you can learn the formulas that are explained in the book. Goes over problems thoroughly & exlains concepts clearly. Very accomodating to requests for clarification. Most that oomplain are those that don't read the book, dont work on problems, & those that are inept with computers and excel. Computers and excel are real world tools; its not the professors fault if people don't know how to use them.

Ray is probably the most honest professor you will ever have. He lets you know what you really need to know for the course. His test are a bit hard, but he tells you what you need to know. He requires you to use mathematica and excel which will help you in the future. Take his class, he is funny,chill and smart.College advice, ask him!

Things you'll need to pass his Stats class: 1. A basic understanding of Microsoft Excel 2. The ability to listen carefully. If you can do that, you'll get an A. Those who couldn't master Excel suffered and those who didn't pay close attention were lost about what formulas to use. Don't take his dark sense of humor personally and you'll be ok!

Just pay plenty attention to his lessons and you'll be fine. He's not big on wasting time so participate and complete assignments He won't leave you without any understanding.

I have NEVER looked forward to a math class;of all of the math classes I've taken as I have with Raymond Badalian! Sure,He is a Comedian;but that is what kept me motivated in the class. He does care about his students-as long as you put in the work, pay attention, and learn the basics of Excel! Also, I HIGHLY recommend getting with a study group!

He makes the class as easy as possible. You are allowed to use your formula sheet during the test for gosh sakes! However, don't take this class if you are unwilling to spend time getting familiar with excel. Excel is a must to do well on the tests. If you fail or don't do well in the class it's your own fault people.

I failed my first couple of tests. I knew if I wanted to pass this class I would have to study my butt off. He is blunt, but a great professor. He expects his students to do the other half of the work by going over the material he has taught. You can pass his class just make sure you're studying before every exam.

He seems to be demeaning towards students, and probably it is due to the fact that he's dealt with lots of lazy students with 1001 excuses to not get things done. Want an A? watch the videos, study the material twice, do your homework. SHOW effort and your B will become an A. Let him see you at the math lab, ask questions, he'll give you + points.

Raymond is a great teacher that does make math fun. But don't expect him to teach you Algebra if you take Geometry with him! He doesn't make you buy an actual book - only an online access to Pearson. Homework and test are all online and straight forward, and he won't be teaching you stuff that you won't be needing in you future classes like Trig.

Badalian is a hilarious teacher. Everyone in my winter class loves him. He simplifies the subject to the very core so the subject is easy to understand. His lectures are heavy onto Excel so students don't need to buy and use complicated calculators. Him and his TA are very helpful and very friendly.

Raymond has been one of the best mathematics teachers I have had in years. He is very knowledgeable. His method of teaching is simple. In my opinion, he isn't recognized enough by outside majors. His h.w. is meaningful. Most of the questions on the exams come from them. He provides powerpoints. He reviews problems. He challenges you to be better.

Raymond is a ROCKSTAR! This is by far the best stats course at LACC. He uses MS Excel and I promise you this program is invaluable when it comes to stats. This guy is an Excel Jedi! Badalian has made me love math, let alone stats, just b/c of who he is &amp; how he teaches. He cracks jokes in class to reduce the tenseness, &amp; that's a key factor in learning. Professor Badalian is an AMAZING professor! He is LACCs charm and any college is more than lucky to have him. Hes innovative and uses excel to teach the class, hes funny as hell and he genuinely cares for his students and wants them to pass. Need I say more? Youre in college so YES you have to study and YES you have to attend class.

He's a very upfront and blunt guy. Seeing as how this is LA people might not be too fond of that but I found it quite refreshing. He makes it pretty clear that his job isn't to spoon feed you the information but rather to elaborate on the concepts that are talked about in the book and explain them in a more palatable manner if you are confused.

Prepare before each lecture, paying attention during class, do relevant homework probs to understand and go beyond his lectures, you will Ace his test. I took his class in spring and overall the class is very easy. If you do not apply yourself or study you will not pass. He makes it very easy for his students to pass his class. In fact he hands you literally all the answers to the homework questions and steps on how to do them. Only reason you wont pass his class is because you literally gave up.

He was a really good teacher, made class interesting and funny. However he moves kind of fast when teaching and it's easy to get confused. He explains it in a way that makes it easier, but if you aren't working yourself at home for hours you won't do good. You basically have to teach a lot of it to yourself so that part sucks.

PROF, Badalian Hes a amazing professor for stats 227 hes cares about his students learning and understanding Mathematics and the importance of how stats is used in every day life. Not as bad as most of the reviews make him out too be. Maybe he's turned over a new leaf. Competent lecturer, has a very lenient grade distribution, and has some helpful youtube videos. For a 5 week ODE course, he did a good job keeping everything afloat. If you are willing to put in the work, you should pass.

He is so awesome! He tells you what the grading rubric is, however if youre not familiar with Excel or cannot be tech savvy and learn this isnt the class for you. But wow his teaching method and videos just flow all nicely and he does weekly meetings for any questions. I would take another math class with him. Also no text book required

He's blunt, moody but means well. Generous w/ grading, lenient w/ HW (doesn't care if you got it right, only that you tried). Explanations/PPs are clear, BUT I HIGHLY recommend the txtbook (use yandex to find the pdf free) to supplement. Exams mite offer more than can be finished on time, but he curves after. if you do all the homework you will be well prepared for the tests. this prof makes all the curriculum so accessible and even fun! i did well and i am usually very bad at math. he also taught me some extremely valuable skills in excel that i know i will use the rest of my life, even if i forget how to do all the math we did! tysm professor!

Professor Badalian was one of the best professors I've had. He was thorough with the material, wrote the entire curriculum himself and uploaded it as lectures on youtube, no one had to spend money on a textbook. He made stats really easy to learn, was responsive to students questions, and passionate about the subject matter. I highly recommend him.

Great Professor. He taught us to use excel and replaces the lowest grade with your final grade. I recommend studying hard for the final because it can save you! I messed up by doing the most on previous exams and not spending nearly as much time on the final. Hes really great at what he does and understands the struggle!

Everybody love Raymond Badalian. He prepares you to transfer more than anyone. He is spectacular at teaching the math side of things and gives lots of homework (5 sets of 50 problems) to ensure that. His inclusion of Mathematica in the course will serve you greatly when you transfer. I cannot recommend him enough

I cried when I found out I had to take this class because math has always been a challenge. Professor B makes math accessible. Do the homework, ask questions, watch and re-watch the videos &amp; you will make it! He says he is your coach and and he is telling the truth. A warm, funny, smart dude. If you have to take stats take him!

I don't either but he was clear on his homework, quizzes, tests, etc. Gives lots of resources who aren't great at math or not interested. I would take him again. Read his feedback, attend his Saturday hours, study, and ASK QUESTIONS.

Mr. B is great! He gives you tons of resources to be successful in this class, and will help you every bit of the way. All you have to do is reach out, and he'll be there for you! He genuinely cares about his student's successes. All the problems are done using Excel, and you'll never once have to pick up a calculator. Do not hesitate to take him.
