He is a very humuorous guy, teaches very good, whoever takes his class will be guaranteed a B or higher. His tests are realllllyy easy. Everyone has fun.
Very tough, class work and assignments don't match up! god bless him.
This course requires hard work, must attend class and keep up, so he really stresses that..if you do all your work, you should succeed in his class..he is very helpful, always willing to stay after class to help, gives out class notes in a typed package, uploads whatever you need onto the net, would certainly take him again...GREAT PROF!
THis guy is horrible, i pity the soul that takes his class, like mentioned before his exercises and exam questions dont match up, tests are too hard. He doesnt make it clear what you are expected to know.
Highly not recommended. Rushed and disorganized. If you are going to take his class... be prepared to teach yourself from the textbook. Takes attendance, which forces you to sit there and learn nothing. Impossible to understand and follow.
Horrible teacher!! His notes/homework assigments/exams do not match up. Prints out horrible notes with barely any examples, but expects you to know how to do everything. Takes FOREVER to post things online which makes it difficult to keep up. AVOID IF YOU CAN!! He's the only professor who teaches 344, but you can always take it online with TRU!!
Stay away from this teacher! Unorganized, lots of assignments, his classes are boring - you just fill in the empty spaces on the sheets. Never ever!
This guy should not be teaching.
UGH. Unfortunately it is impossible to avoid him in 3rd year classes as he teaches so damn many. His classes are boring... he is very difficult to understand. His tests are impossibly difficult and often relate very little to what he "teaches" in class. AVOID
Prof is not the best and i dont remeber anything i learnt but i got decent grade so im happy
so bad
Avoid taking his class by any means possible. Dont waste your time and MONEY! Took two classes with him and regret every minute Exams are impossible class average of less than 60%
Time spent in class is incredible unhelpful. His notes rarely relate to the textbook's format and neither relate to quizzed and examined material. Avoid.
DON'T TAKE HIS COURSE. I can't understand a word he says, he makes continuous errors, and he doesn't actually TEACH us anything. He gets confused, makes MANY typos, shows up late, and makes irrational decisions. It takes him forever to get anything back to us, and he doesn't even get some of the questions he assigns. WORST PROF I'VE HAD BY FAR!
No point in showing up!!!
He no english, no good english..Acounting dont know by him, he talk about butterfly and rainbows.. what i learn.. i dont know.. cry at night !
This prof is bad! Really really bad. He doesn't even know what he is doing. Countless times half way through the lecture he realized he was teaching the wrong method. You can't really understand what he is saying and he never understands a question. It takes him forever to return assignments which there are so many of! Avoid at all costs! Avoid!!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Had a 4.0GPA last semester and I'll be lucky if I pass his course. He consistently runs out of time so he emails the notes for you to teach yourself. Fill in the blank notes for accounting...seriously?? Horrible. VERY misleading when telling us what to study for final exam.
Didn't do last chapter b/c campus was closed for 2 weeks. Held class on reading break to help students study for the midterm afterwards, not mandatory. Some have exaggerated. Tests are no harder than other courses. That said: unclear marker, often makes mistakes while teaching and needs to be corrected, rambles on. Nice guy, would not recommend.
Nice Pro with every assignment clearly assigned, assignments are not hard. He certainly expects students practice.
worst teacher in 3 years at ufv, if you like teaching yourself then you could try it but i reccommend once u see his name run for your life. never at his office hours, says to study certain questions for tests then flips it and puts complete opposite. cancled last class kuz he had to do something for his masters. he thinks accounting is easy
This teacher is quite possibly the worst teacher I've had the misfortune of having. Condescending and arrogant responses to students who try to participate in class, incomprehensible speech, inconsistent in EVERYTHING, materials covered in class don't follow the book or myaccountinglab, constantly argues his point despite being wrong(by text)AVOID!
Avoid this guy at all costs. His lectures were hard to follow. The notes he gave didn't explain much. In fact, they made the course much harder, it was like trying to solve a puzzle. The exams and homework were very difficult and he really didn't help you prepare for them. At the end of the course he even admitted he doesn't know much about finance
he is a bad teacher. teaches using the textbook and using those examples. limited practice questions and not very clear
I said I never would take him again but I had too. He is simply terrible. I can honestly say that I did not learn anything. He is so lazy: we had our final and still had not gotten 2 / 3 quizzes back and none of our homework back. What's the point of them when you never find out how you did to prep for the final. he is so confusing! Do not take!!!!
Super unorganized, lots of mistakes during lecture. Notes were inconsistent, confusing and had A LOT of errors. Made quizzes and exams way too long and not on what the syllabus said they would be on. I think I'm a pretty intelligent person, but I have never felt so frustrated and defeated after completing a class. Fingers crossed I passed. AVOID!!!
Sent required format for term project day before it was due, study materials for final the day before exam. Painful to communicate with. Spends hours in class on useless tangents. Does not seem to care about this course. Level of effort is not related to mark received. He is hilarious and a nice guy, but he is the worst teacher I have ever had.
Could hardly understand what he was saying half the time. Never gave enough time for the quizzes or especially on the final exam in which more than half the class didn't finish before his deadline.
Im surprised at the negative feedback. first off im white born in Canada. for those who say he is hard to understand blow me away. that's an excuse for not studying. he does make mistakes and rambles but give notes that are 100% covered in class and doesn't surprise new material on test. does expect lots of out of class studying but that's life
Raymond is lazy. He didn't give our quizzes back and types out all of his notes during class on his laptop. He doesn't let students figure out the examples on their own (which would make for a better learning environment). I can barely understand him and read the text book during class to try and understand the material. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!
What a joke of a professor. Absolutely disgusted at the fact that he's allowed to teach at an educational institution. Complete waste of time and space. Get ready to learn the material on your own as he's no help at all. Please quit
Very kind and knowledgable prof. Lectures are a bit dry, but if you pay attention and study you will do fine
I think he's great, very funny. Don't understand the hate, he makes the classes interesting. Seems to actually enjoy what he's doing too
Funny guy, genuinely wants you to succeed. Midterm was hard but quizzes and final were fair. A's are possible with him.
This is the second class I've taken with Raymond. He's always willing to help and answer questions. He shows genuine interest in what he's teaching and his constant jokes are hilarious.
A lot of people don't like him, but he had really great notes. He has a heavy accent which is hard to understand. I was able to ask him questions, helped me with filling out the notes when I missed class. He's really busy which makes him return quizzes and tests late.
Keep in mind I am a top student (3.96 entering the fall recruit) & I struggled to barely get 70% This is hands down the worst class I have ever taken. Id stay home and just read the text if he didn't take attendance. Does not teach at all and when asked for justification on marking he has no idea how he marked it. AVOID unless its the ONLY option.
Worst prof at UFV. I would of learned more from a monkey teaching this course.
Raymond has a very special skill.. he's able to turn what should be straight-forward concepts, into dry, boring, complicated lectures. This course is basically a self-teach. I cannot stand his teaching style (types out notes, tells you to read the textbook instead of teaching the content) Going to his class feels like a waste of time. Nice guy tho
A class with Raymond is the equivalent of staring at paint drying on the wall for 2 hours and 50 minutes.
The one thing Raymond has going for him is his ability to make jokes and be social-ish. After the first midterm and once you've grown frustrated with his teaching style, do you realize that he enjoys having a very difficult class. An intelligent professor who seems too stubborn to change a questionable teaching style. Respectfully avoid
Raymond takes simple concepts and makes them complicated. He constantly changes his expectations and sometimes doesn't even know the answers to questions; it makes me very unsure if I'm doing the work properly. His notes are typed out and very hard to follow; they're basically useless. I leave class more confused than if I stayed home and read.
Do not EVER take Raymond. He thinks he is always right. He says the exams will be on one thing but ends up being something completely different. This class is just stress on stress with him. Unless you plan to teach yourself this course and spend 30 hours a week. You will not get a good grade with him. He needs to be reassessed.
I can see the why there's so much hate but a lot of it is unfounded. His lectures/notes aren't the greatest but he gives you the main examples that are going to be tested. Just practise those given examples and don't expect to do all your learning in class and you'll do fine. A's are definitely possible.
He shouldnt be a professor and shoul start learning how to teach. Never ever take his course if you want a good grade.
One of the most draining courses I have ever had to take. He had made simple things into rocket science. UFV needs to re-evaluate his contract if they really care for their students. I had to go see counsellors due to stress I got from his class. Would rather wait around a few semesters for a different professor than to take it with him.
Raymond tends to go off on tangents sometimes irrelevant to the class, however, do good on the midterm and you'll do fine, the final exam is completely unrelated to the content studied, whereas the midterm is more management accounting content. Study his notes and do the practice questions, USE the textbook.
difficult to understand. doesnt answer questions thourougly
He is the worst prof in the accounting major. I tried to avoid him during my whole degree but he's usually the only one teaching BUS 343 and had to take him now. I would recommend taking this class at TRU then taking it with Raymond. He is very hard to understand and lectures are completely worthless. You have to learn everything by yourself.
Boring, the notes he use is useless. learned nothing from him. Don't take his class, ever!!!
you have to teach yourself everything, he is very hard to understand during lectures and tends to go on rambling about stuff that has nothing to do with the subject. You must read the textbook and so some exercises and problems by yourself to have any chance of being successful.
I received nothing from attending his class. I could read the textbook on my own. The textbook he uses is EXTREMELY outdated. Lectures were irrelevant. He is racist and inappropriate. I feel it was a waste of my time and money. The lectures were fast-paced, full of errors seemed to be more of a learning tool for himself than to teach his students.
Raymond is very caring. He also knows this information so well that it is hard to keep up with him. I did not understand some of the basics as I must have missed it at the beginning of the semester and did not figure it out until near the end of the semester. He doesn't always understand questions and will answer weirdly and move on.
Blackboard is a mess for his class, can't tell what chapter is what and what homework is due the next class. Sometimes hard to understand during lecture, better off reading text book.
Raymond should not be a professor, incredibly difficult to follow his lectures, basically useless going to class other than for homework and participation marks. you will need to teach yourself this course through the textbook if you hope to do well. you certainly won't learn the material through his word documents (doesn't use powerpoint). F-
Raymond is F- professor who seriously dont know how to teach. It feels like he is teaching you spanish in finance class. Slides, class notes are chaos, seriously dont know what they exactly mean. If you wanna learn something by the course and ready to teach yourself , go ahead with the course.
GPA before this term: 3.6 (3 Deans lists) I learned nothing from lectures and decided not to go to class for a couple of weeks and studied on my own. Far better results. 32% midterm, 52% final. Rest is quizzes, CP etc. He should not be a professor. Avoid him but if taken, get ready to study on your own. Otherwise take it online from TRU.
Doesn't teach you anything I was completely lost during lectures and does not tell you what to study to prepare for the final. Only thing he has going for him is that he's a nice guy other than that avoid him if you can or spend countless hours teaching yourself the course.
Rather than assign chapter 8 he would say that you need to add 4 to the chapter to know what chapter. So the class was actually supposed to be on chapter 12. Lectures were very hard to follow. Be ready to just read the textbook and teach yourself.
He explains things not very clearly, and also reads notes from the computer. Doesn't even use powerpoint slides. Very hard to understand his lectures. You must teach yourself in order to understand the chapters. So many quizzes and midterm was pretty difficult.
I must admit he's a knowledgeable individual but teaching isn't his cup of tea. Course grading criterion is absurd. His lectures did not make any sense. His quizzes are just there for formality, not to prepare you. Final was hard. Wouldn't recommend him to my enemies either. May the Lord be help you get through this hurdle. (HurdleRaymond)
He's a nice guy but other than that he does not know how to teach a course. He doesn't explain anything properly, read off the lecture slides and gives extremely hard tests. The midterms are nothing like the homework or the practice questions. He made so many mistakes on the midterms, that he decided not to mark half the questions. NOT RECOMMENDED!
He's a nice guy, but he honestly does not have a clue on what he's even teaching. He learns with the class, never does in class examples, only reads publishers notes. He makes you go over last weeks homework, as a in class presentation (worth 2%), waste of 3 hours a week honestly, you essentially have to self study everything, in order to do okay.
I wouldn't take him again because of the way he marks. The expectations aren't 100% clear on the exams (which are worth 85% of the total grade), so you end up losing a ton of marks that easier profs would just give you. That's the only bad thing though. If you're not lazy you can pull an A in this class.
Raymond is definitely a caring guy but I don't believe teaching is his forte. Classes are hard to follow as he just reads from a word doc. The course is very heavily graded on exams and some small quizzes which aren't returned. Exams are difficult and are very comprehensive. His classes are doable but you will be teaching yourself on your own time.
I usually never rate a prof on here, but this prof makes me feel the need too. Multiple choice has nothing to do with what you learn, and short answer questions are impossible, good luck to anyone who takes this prof, unfortunately I had too, know one else was available. Prof makes me hate accounting, which his the opposite of what a prof should do
Extremely unclear of everything he teaches and his notes, emails, solutions to assignments has SO many typos it makes you so confused. He teaches something one way in a lecture and you think "ok, easy enough?" then you do homework, tests, and exams and it's like where did this material come from? When u email him he gives u one, useless sentence
Absolutely the worst professor at the University of the Fraser Valley. If you have other options of professors for classes that he is teaching, please take the other profs. If he is the only one teaching that semester, don't take the class. He has no clear marking scheme. Multiple choicequizzes and exams but you Must show your work. No Part marks.
if you wanna fail and be confused when his notes say one thing but his quizzes and assignments say another... go for it! there's a reason his rate my prof is 1.5/5 based on 68 ratings
Raymond is the worst prof Ive ever had. Be prepared to learn everything on your own and dont expect him to answer your emails. I had him during the Coronavirus semester and he made very little effort to alter the class after switching to online. Everyone I talked to either failed or barely passed which says more about him than it does about us.
Unclear & unfair. Doesn't answer emails at all or way too late. Various errors in his notes. The notes he provides are inadequate & there's no textbook. He gets frustrated at you when you ask him to clarify something or ask a question. Very frustrating since it's an intro class! Lots of self-teaching required to do well, but not worth it at all.
Worst prof at UFV, I am writing this review after completing all the accounting courses at UFV. Raymond's class was the only class in which I got lower than an A- out of all the accounting courses ( Finished with a C-). Do yourself a favor and take the class through TRU. This guy is so useless he probably couldn't even teach his kid the alphabet.
Raymond is hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. Just stay away. Do yourself a favour and take this course at TRU or wait till someone else starts teaching it. You will fail, and you will also be like me writing this review wishing you had listened. I wish I could give him a 0, but even that is a far stretch.
I cannot stress this enough, for anyone taking BUS 343, for god sakes, please sign up for it at TRU. Raymond is by far the worst professor/teacher I've ever encountered throughout any of my schooling. This man will ramble on for 20 minutes on a tantrum and by the end of the class, you'll be left wondering why you are even majoring in accounting.
not enough time on quizzes, doesn't answer emails and doesn't grade things on time. no idea what I have bc he hasn't marked things from 2 months ago. gets defensive and acts like its our fault when we say we don't understand, even though most of my class is failing. I love math and have always done super well in math classes up until this class.
It's not fair to have to give him a 1. 0 should be an option. This is pretty much the only prof who teaches 343 at UFV so there's not much option. His way of teaching is scrolling through word documents and telling you it's not hard. the textbook is terrible but if you want to pass you HAVE TO USE IT. The highest mark on the midterm was 81%
The best thing to do is just take it through TRU online. Just because he's one of the most qualified accounting profs at UFV doesn't mean he has the ability to communicate and transfer his knowledge effectively. I really can't think of anything positive to say.
Probably one of the worst profs I've had to deal with. Doesn't answer emails, doesn't upgrade marks, our final is worth 55% and his notes are a total mess. I've had to use the textbook to try and teach myself everything, but then his exam questions aren't even at all similar to the textbook questions and he barely gives us enough time to do them.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! Super unorganized and very unclear of what is expected of you on exams which are very heavily weighted. Didn't learn a thing, complete waste of a class. Honestly was looking forward to this class but i'm extremely disappointed.
(BUS 245 not 247) If you plan on taking an online course with Raymond, dont. No lectures which is whatever but the cons outweigh the pros. Goodluck getting an email response, oh and if you do it won't even be related to the question you asked. goodluck studying for the final! He provides no practice and theres not really anywhere good to practice.
The lectures themselves taught me nothing, the notes he gives are useless. The difficult part is the unclear marking and not enough time for online tests. The material of the course is not tough but he gives you long questions that you have to type out in barely any time. Dont take him for an online semester
This guy doesn't know how to teach. His tests and notes are two different worlds. He makes the tests so hard that he had to scale the midterm by 16% just to get the average to 60. He is an absolute joke. He will ruin your semester, just take it from TRU. Come on UFV to open your eyes and realize he is hurting your reputation.
PLEASE DON'T TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM. You will regret it and end up like most of us on here writing a review about this clown. He reads off a terrible word doc which makes no sense and wraps up the class in 40 minutes. You will not learn anything from the textbook either (it's terrible). Doesn't matter how smart you are expect to barely pass or fail.
If you take this professor, rest in peace. His teaching method is slapping down information straight from the textbook into a document, then saying "it's easy." He marks harder than ever, maybe because you literally have no clue what to expect going into the exams. I hope you can learn only from reading the textbook.
Give yourself justice, DO NOT Take courses from this professor. I don't understand why he is even hired. He does not respond to emails. He does not provide online lectures-you are basically on your own. It is the worst decision I've ever made. Give last minute exam coverage less than 12 hours before final exam-different from the outline.
Singlehandedly takes the award for being the absolute worst prof at UFV. Don't take the class with him, you'll regret it. He can't teach and his exams are so hard and don't match what's taught in class.
he will not teach the content at all. his notes don't cover anything that is on the assignment and he cannot explain the material at all. be prepared to teach yourself the entire time by spending at least 3 hours a day learning from scratch. worst prof i have ever had and its my second time taking him.
Raymond is not a good prof. He expects everyone to be an expert and finish on a time that is honestly almost impossible. Tests are ridiculous, should not be teaching.
Terrible lecture notes. Doesn't give good enough examples in class and feels assigning a few homework questions he just posts the answer to on BB is how people learn accounting. It's not. If your class average is that low clearly the professor is doing something wrong.
Frustration with Raymond is an understatement. He uses a terrible word document to teach and says it is easy and expects students to be experts. He does not use detailed examples to help u. the test criteria is very unclear, unfair, minimal time and takes up a very high percentage of the course marks. Please don't take any courses with him ever.
What he teaches and what he gives for quizzes are very different. He has a textbook, but only uses it for questions. He acts like a child if anyone questions his exams or quizzes. Don't take any classes with him if you can (He's the only teacher for 343 for the last few years).
For the sake of yourself and love of god, Dont take a class with this prof. You basically teach yourself by reading textbook and doing assignments. He is unprofessional and cold.
The professor teaches very well and the class is very interesting but the exams are VERY TOUGH and he never gives enough time for weekly quizzes . Its very hard to pass the exams .
Lets be clear words cannot describe how horrible Raymond is. The only reason why Raymond has 1 rating is because rate my prof wont allow you to give a zero rating. Even they cant believe a professor could be that bad but hes worse than you could imagine. The only thing I got out of his class is a mental health crisis. Avoid at all costs.
Please don't take him. Do not do that to yourself. He is the most horrible accounting professor at UFV. Raymond does not care about you. You might think you are doing well the entire semester but he fails you in the end. His words: "I had it bad when I was a student so I'm going tough on you guys as well now." PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF. PLEASE.
Don't take him at any cost.
unprofessional and rude, I don't understand why is he even at university right now with this rating and bad reviews. Horrible professor and not helpful at all.
Does not know how to teach, very tough grader.
Just take 343 at TRU self paced. Its great
Midterm class average was 53.6%. Enough said. If you can't avoid him, be prepared to learn the material on your own, without Raymond's help.
Was scared to take this course with Raymond from the reviews but he was a good prof. Quizzes are exactly like his assignments/self tests, usually the same questions but with different numbers. He takes the best 4/5 quiz marks and curves grades if needed. Do self tests &assignments & keep up with lecture notes & the course should be straight forward
such a bad teacher. rlly doesn't care about students. doesn't help when asked questions. will just make fun of you for getting a question wrong or asking a question.
I am coming back to write a review after a year of taking this class. Just had my CPA Core 1 orientation, I realize how important this course is but how bad the class was taught. IFRS vs ASPE is heart and soul of Core 1 and I have no clue about it. Worst professor ever. If I knew it back then, I would have taken it at a different university.
He's the worst professor I've ever had! I couldn't understand why he hadn't been fired from school! He didn't provide any help in BUS349 and the final exam had almost nothing to do with the assignment he had provided! The difficulty of the final is another level! Please don't take his finance class! He will make you fear and hate finance forever!
Lectures are long and don't make sense. Tests are worth 85% of the class and have surprises on them do not recommend.
I don't want to drag Raymond through the mud, because I think he is a nice guy, but its been a tough semester. Unless you are confident that you can learn it all on your own, I suggest you rethink taking this course, or have a tutor on standby.
Raymond is a good prof. His quizzes and exams are similar to his homework questions and textbook review questions. He also allows a cheatsheet for the quizzes and exams. Only bad thing is that he doesn't reply to emails that fast or at all.
Just remember one thing, you are teaching this course to yourself without any help. All the best because there is no other professor for BUS 343
If there is any way that you can avoid this professor, please do so. Consider taking the course as a visiting student at another University. This professor does not teach and does not reply to questions. Professor like this is a bad reputation to the University.
Impossible to understand Tests on things that were not included in the lecture as well as insane deductions on minor errors Does not give feedback/mark assignments Belittles students for not knowing questions he has asked The only course I have dropped out of, and by far the worst teacher at UFV
Raymond cares about people doing well in his class, which shows in his teaching style. There are many opportunities to get good grades, and he clearly outlines what you should study and what will be on the tests and quizzes. His ability to break down the math, giving lots of detailed steps and examples, helps to understand the material.
If you have the chance to avoid him as a professor definitely do it. You cannot learn anything and exams and quizzes are the opposite of what he tells you.
Hilarious Hilariously bad at teaching! Raymond is an okay guy but not good at teachingRaymond you should quit early while your ahead had to teach myself the entire coursedoesn't respond to emails doesnt give part marks even if you got answers right, saw the reviews that said 5 star, regretting it now. take anyone else trust me you'll thank me later
i will not say he is too bad , but if u practice homework, self test, and assignment questions , you will be fine for the final exam. the best thing is he listen you , if you are getting less grade he has some participation marks and some make up quiz , which are really helpul to improve grades and sometime he do adjustment too.
I know a lot of people afraid of taking classes with him, but generally I think he's not bad. He really cares about his students and obviously doesnt want to fail anyone. However, you should keep in mind that, this class is really heavy. You will have to work hard if you want to pass the class and work extremely hard to get a good grade. Practice!
If you're taking 343 with him, get ready to work very very hard.
I took an introductory accounting class with Professor Raymond Leung. Despite it being an introductory class, the notes were disorganized, and the professor didn't respond to emails. The final exam was worth over 50% of the grade. I recommend having a basic understanding of accounting before taking his class. Good luck if you are taking his class.
He doesn't know how to speak and when you ask him any questions he will discuss it for 10 seconds and expect you to know. He is not accessible for library hours ever and makes you email him to which his replies are god awful. His exams are nothing like the notes or what he says will be on there. He is the only teacher to 343 so good luck.
Professor Raymond is very patient with his students. He is clear about his expectations and which materials to study. I appreciate his after class notes and assignment solutions. You definitely will have to study hard to pass.
Raymond is a great underrated professor. His notes and exams are simple, direct and the same difficulty level. He gives very direct questions. till you put in time to understand concepts and know which formula to use, there's no way you'll get less than A+ He sometimes doesn't reply to emails and mocks to look cool, but teaching wise, he's great.
Not clear about what he wants out of his students, never teaches the material properly you are expected to teach yourself. Not understanding when it comes to personal or issues regarding the course. Would not recommend him at all in general. Very tough marker and lectures can be barely understood. No external help had to teach myself everything.
Only reason he got a 1 is because it won't let me give a 0
Horrible prof
Professor Raymond's class is a mixed bag - challenging but manageable with hard work. The textbook is helpful, and Unstuckstudy proved useful for practice. Attend lectures and be proactive to succeed.
Avoid at all costs. Sadly he was the only option for this class when I took it. He makes it very hard to tell how you are doing in the course because you practically get no practice questions with their answers, and he doesn't explain anything well.
If your taking a class with him, expect the unexpected, also have to hear his sarcastic jokes on how many fail his class! One of the toughest professors I came across definitely.
Everything he says is confusing. The textbook taught me this course. Finding out what to study is harder than the actual studying. A week before the final he stopped answering emails. Weekly assignments which are 5-10 pages long (pretty sure he does not read them either). One quiz had a 26% average.
I had him for BUS 145 and strongly advise against taking his class. Don't waste your time. I thought I could manage his class, but I was severely mistaken. Attending his class is pointless. He makes numerous calculation errors during examples, and his class notes are filled with errors and confusing. I had to rely solely on the textbook.
What he says during the lectures may confuse you greatly, so the textbook may end up being your main source of study material. It's also no surprise that my class average was quite low under 60% considering how he teaches us.
Currently sitting in Bros 349 Class and he has not even started teaching anything yet. Its a condensed course which means only 6 weeks. 1 week is gone and I haven't learned anything. I guess I have to self study and hope I pass his 60% final exam. Wish me and all of the students luck. Why is this class even mandatory for non finance majors:(
THE WORST "PROF" EVER. WHO MADE THIS GUY A PROF AND WHO LETS HIM CONTINUE TO BE ONE? TEACHING IS NOT FOR HIM. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THIS CLASS IS A WASTE OF TIME. DO SOMETHING BETTER. TAKE IT WITH SOMEONE ELSE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE FOR YOURSELF. I CAN GO ON AND ON ABOUT HOW HE IS A HORRIBLE PROF. SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS.
Doesn't teach anything in the class. He is a very tough grader, avoid him at any cost, unless you want to see your GPA tank.
This professor deserves this ranking. His lectures are mandatory, as they are online; however, he talks for what seems like hours and barely conveys the topics properly. If you want any chance of passing, it is up to you to self-teach yourself through the resources provided. With a final worth 60%, expect a very difficult course.
One of the worst profs ever! If you are serious about CPA, please do not take him. After talking to a lot of people in the field at KPMG, and MNP, they all agree that he is one of the worst profs. When they look at your transcript and see Raymond, they will go easier on you. He does not know how to teach. He will switch up on you at any time. WPE!
DO NOT TAKE RAYMOND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! HE IS NOT WORTH THE STRESS. AVOID AVOID AVOID. IDC IF YOU WILL LOSE YOUR FULL TIME STATUS OR INTERNATIONAL STATUS. DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH THIS GUY.
The lectures in Raymonds class revolve around the theory, and most of your studying will be self-directed via Wiley as the midterms are graded on the application on financial reports. (a lot of content, unclear on what will actually be asked for tests). The average midterm grade was ~55%, curved to 60%. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR GPA, DO NOT TAKE.
Don't ever take him. He's the worse prof ever, he doesn't know how to teach.
I was enrolled in online class and final exam was in person worth 70%......UNBELIEVABLE.... Do not ever take him if you want to pass.
Worst teacher at UFV. it is crazy that he is still employed. Rude, misleading and doesnt provide any answers to study questions which makes it very difficult to know if your studying is even correct. He is ok with failing students and almost seems to find pleasure in it.
absolute worst professor in the whole university, makes his online classes 70% final in person. disrespectful does not care about his students even if they were in a life or death emergency he will fail u and will make no exceptions
I taught myself the entire course from reading the textbook. If you're not too strong with numbers and can't teach yourself from reading the textbook, then avoid Raymond. The final was worth 55%
i would rather take a sh*t in my hand and clap with my mouth open than take him again.
