I have a differing opinion about this fine Prof. He made us work hard thispat summer but we learned a lot. I redid my schedule so I could have him again this spring. These people offering such bad ratings should try some others at SCSU.

he does go pretty fast but he definitely helps you out if you have a question and he makes time other than his office hours if you need help. great teacher in my opinion

mugno is a good teacher. the class is hard, and theyre are alot of notes. I came str8 out of highschool. And im the worst at math, but im still doing good in his class. He is very clear in explaining how to do each problem and will explain anything you don't understand, but he does not appretiate having to repeat the same thing he just said. Give pop quizes, but they're easy. You can't make them up though, so plan on going to every single class.

Dr. Mugno is an excellent teacher. i have always been good in math so i received a great grade for this class but he was very helpful to those who didn't understand. try to do the problems and sample tests. samples are like real tests. ASK QUESTIONS IF U DON'T UNDERSTAND, THAT'S THE ONLY TOCLARIFY

Had him for probability and it was a cakewalk. People who say he goes too fast are completely wrong - he doesn't go fast enough. Funny dude, huge Simpsons fan.

Very good and interesting class. Take good notes,and you are all set for the tests. He is really willing to guide you if something is unclear. I highly recommend his class!

A dedicated teacher although gets frustrated easily. Took the summer grad level statistcs course with him and thoght the course and his teaching style was great! He goes over material very fast so be sure to do all the homework and ANY extra credit he offers. Exams are hard but gets easier once you figure out his teaching style.

Probably the best math teacher i ever had. i've run from math since i had evil middle school teachers who only cared if you could do it THEIR way, not if you got it. Dr.M wants students to get it, even if they do things differently. ASK questions in class - he'll help you! ok, he can be a bit of a smartass about it, but he's kidding...

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! He is awesome! He's funny, very helpful, drops 2 lowest quiz grades, does anything to help out his students. If you ever get a chance to take him for a math class, do it! I highly recommend it!

my best advice: GO TO CLASS! attendance isnt mandatory, but he notices who is trying and will help them if they ask. the concepts are hard, but hes always looking to help his students. i was scared i was going to fail because im HORRIBLE at math, but went everyday and passed! i hate math, but this class wasnt so dreadful!! :)

Dr. Mugno IS LOUD!! he helped me understand this math. He made it very clear that it's NOT okay to be dumb in math. got to every class, take notes, study your notes. If you don't want him to be a smart A** becareful how you phrase your questions. DON'T start your questions with, "Dr. Mugno can you do ....?" OF course he can! he's got the doctorate!

He is very helpful and will take time out of class to make sure everyone understands the work.

Great Professor. I had him for Statistics and he was very helpful and clear in his teaching. Do the homework and you will be fine, as long as you are at all competent in math.

He's fun and funny. He does go a bit fast and doesn't always check the homework before assigning it, which can be a bit frustrating. He'll do his best to clear up confusions, and makes time to see students even if he doesn't have a lot of office hours posted.

Nice person, talks loudly! in the beginning i wasn't a big fan, but you warm up to him. he's helpful if you have questions, if you don't he won't help you.

he is a very funny guy, however he rushes through a word document and does very few examples on the board. this was a hard style of teaching for me to get use to and made material hard to learn and may be difficult to students that learn thru writing notes and examples. he is available for help when needed. DO your homework and labs

Wonderful professor. He goes very quickly, but is always willing to answer questions-so ASK THEM! Also, very available to his students outside of class time and extremely helpful if you go to his office for help. Would absolutely recommend taking him. Do the homework, go to class, ask questions, and you will succeed. Also incredibly funny!

Great teacher. Great class. Difficult topic but he will always answer any questions you have, but you have to ask them.

He's a nice guy but his problem is he talks to you like you are mentally handicapped if you as a "stupid" question. Flies through material and doesn't like to slow down.

If you're required to take stats, take it with Mugno. He is wonderful, let us have index cards on every test. If you're hanging out in the back daydreaming, he'll come and work through problems with you. He doesn't want anyone to do poorly. Gives you every opportunity to get an A. And he's cute.

Like any other stats teacher, he could be very sarcastic. However, if you give him respect he's very nice, funny, and helpful. He knows what he's doing and knows how to teach. Listen to what he says in class because you'll notice his frustration when you ask a question that he's already answers. Textbook is not needed.

Statistics is hard, but professor Mungo made it not so bad. He is sarcastic at times but overall is a great teacher. He has flexible office hours and fair homework. Only 3-4 tests, including midterm and final. Puts up practice tests beforehand. The homework is graded but he drops the lowest homework grade. I recommend him for any math class.

Statistics is a hard subject but Prof. Mungo does a good job at teaching it. He goes quickly through lectures, but he posts notes prior to class. There are 2 unit exams, a final, and weekly homework. His exams are fair, and as long as you go to class, study, and do your homework, there is no reason why you shouldn't pass. Definitely recommend

He is a tough professor, but you will learn alot. Just study whatever he teaches in class and practice alot for his exams. As stated in his syllabus, he can not grade effort. You have to show that you are listening, studying and practicing solving problems. He might seem like not so approachable, but dont be afraid, he will help you!

I took this class during the summer and he moved at the speed of light. That being said, I learned a lot during my short period of time with him. To do well in this class, pay attention to the things he goes over in class, review them carefully in his notes, and do the practice problems. You can do well if you put the work in! Would recommend.

Professor Mugno is an awesome teacher! Previous comments of him being "sarcastic but not in a good way," are simply from people who have no sense of humor. I think his sarcasm makes the class more enjoyable. As long as you show up, take notes, and do the practice worksheets and tests he uploads to blackboard, depending on what kind of student you are I'd say it's an easy A or B.

I've always hated math and before taking Mugno's class, I've never gotten above a C in a math class. I took Mugno in the summer and my final grade was an A. He teaches statistics in a practical way and makes sure everything makes so much sense. His grading is extremely fair and he's hilarious, which makes a math class a little more enjoyable.

I can't understand the reviews Mugno is getting. This is by far the easiest Math class I've ever taken. My sister was taking an AP Stat's class in high school and MAT 107 covered a little over a 1/3 of the material. He's teaching style was very concise and I don't think I was ever confused over the material, which says a lot as it was summer course

Fast paced learning, but will always slow down if you have a question. Easy class. Easy A as long as you do your homework and study for the exams. Great professor. Good at explaining concepts. People who give Mugno a low rating just don't put any effort into their work. Mugno was a gem. He explained things very well. Even though he goes rather quickly, if you don't get it, he slows down and goes over it until you get do. All you have to do is ask. He provides practice exams that basically give you the answers and cheat sheets. Best proff

Professor Mugno is one of the few professors in the math department that actually care about his students. The class is fast paced but he provides notes that are clear and easy to understand. If you don't understand something, he will go over it. I would definitely take him again if I had to.

This was the best math class that I have ever taken. What you learn is exactly what the course describes. Professor Mugno's lectures were easy to understand, and gave many example problems that related to the lectures. He goes over anything again if you asked him to. He also gives you a notecard to bring to the exam to help out with formulas.

In short, he is a smart alec. But he teaches well. He answers questions. He is accessible after class. He genuinely cares and wants his students to do well in the course. He is very passionate about stats. You are allowed a cheat sheet for each exam. No one has time to memorize those formulas.

Dr. Mugno is outstanding. As a professor, he made his class easy. Most of the grading was based on assignments and then 50% was in tests. The tests were pretty easy too! I did not do as well as I should have because I was taking Abstract Algebra at the same time. However, I felt bad for Dr. Mugno because he was so awesome which made me feel worse!

Gave us a ton of notes, videos, and material. Responded to emails very quickly. Was available outside of class for extra help. He gives very concise to the point notes which I really liked. Honestly, never heard him belittle someone for asking a question as others suggested. If anything, hes extremely laid back and funny.

Dr. Mugno is a fast paced teacher. Paying attention is key along with asking questions when you start to find yourself behind. He always asks if anyone has any questions every few minutes. He is fantastic with reexplaining concepts slowly, clearly, and directly. For anyone without python experience, it is hard, but the class is do able to ace.

He does encourage you to ask questions but then hell make you feel stupid and have an attitude. The only way youd enjoy this class is if youre already good at math if it is not your strong suit I highly suggest you look for a different professor. He goes way too fast so you basically have to teach yourself!

Dr. Mugno has been one of my favorite professors I have ever taken. He expects high achievement from students, but at the same time is reasonable with the amount of work he assigns. He is always available for questions and is understanding and will help if you are struggling on any of the concepts in the course. Would highly recommend!

professor mungo is actually a funny guy. yes he is loud and might sound off as cocky but if you pay attention in class, do your homework, and ask questions you should be fine. he's constantly asking us if we have questions, we have a week to do homework and it isn't even that long. i think he's pretty good at teaching

The material is not "simple". But you are given ALL the information you need to do well. If you actually do what you are asked; watch the videos, do practice problems, read chapter notes...You will learn EVERYTHING you need to Excel. Professor Mugno responds to email questions very quickly and returns graded material very quickly!
