This class is not an easy course. You have to pay attention and listen to the professors lecture to fully comprehend it. But he will go over all the power point lectures in class to make sure you understand it.

Professor Pacovsky is a great teacher. His classes are not the easiest around but if you study and attend class you will do just fine. In his lab class we do different experiments with the microscopes. We only do lab reports and only a final exam,no quizes! If you need any help he is willing to help..overall he is of the best biology professor!

I took his lab only. Great professor, very helpful. Not need of book. Got an A. Just do the labs, not big deal, he explains what he wants done. Labs are 75% of grade. Be on the top 30% of the class and you get an A. Learnt to use the microscope correctly. Hands down the best from the west and I live very much east.

If you study what he tells you will be on the test it is easy to get an A. He gives extra credit with every exam and quiz and he teaches in a way that you actually retain the information since it is interesting. Best teacher ever, no doubt.

The only people who will not like this professor are the ones not willing to put the work in to do well. He loves science and wants to prepare his biology majors for life at "The big 4 year universities" (as he always reminds us). And he is right. If you can't hack it in a first year biology class at a community college, you picked the wrong major!

He is really a great teacher. You need to work hard, but there is extra credit on the tests. His Test are multiple choice, but study the material he gives you and you will do great. I got over 100% on every test I took.

Dr. Pacovsky is by far the best science teacher at ANY campus at PBSC. He is absolutely brilliant, and also hilarious. Specifically, I had him for principles of biology 2 & lab and also microbiology & lab. His class is no joke, a lot of memorization and studying ahead if you do choose to take him. But I would 100% recommend him to anyone!!!

His grading system is VERY beneficial. His lectures are long, but he covers everything. You need to read the lecture noted before class AND after class. I took the 6 week version of his class and managed to get an A. As long as you show up to class, pay attention, participate, and take good notes, it's hard to fail the class. I barely had to study because I took extensive notes and went to the SI sessions before the test (in which u are literally handed the test questionsanswers).

If you actually want to learn Biology, you must take Dr. Pacovsky. He makes you work for your grade and his test are challenging. But because he studied at great schools himself, like Berkely and Michigan state; his knowledge is worth so much more then what PBSC can normally offer in their teachers.

Makes you learn but also makes it difficult to get anything but an "A." Seriously, out of a 60 question test, he only grades 48 questions, giving you 12 freebies. He also regularly and directly answers 6-8 questions during the quizzes/tests. He gives you all of the necessary notes printed out, and tells you exactly what you need to know. Take him.

Amazing teacher, this is my second time taking the class, I didn't pass the first time I took it with a different professor and he makes my last teacher look terrible. There are 3 tests and 3 quizzes, both 2 weeks apart, and he is willing to help you. They are fill in the blank, but he gives you exactly what you need, no more and no less.

Pacovksy.... Is the BOMB. He is super easy to befriend, and when you do, it'll motivate you to do well in class. He has fantastic energy... but it can be a bit much at times. Don't expect an easy class, though.

Dr. Ray is amazing. I took him for both BSC1010 and lab, got an A in both. Although I will admit, his tests are ridiculously difficult, BUT he gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. He emails his notes which are very detailed, yet understandable. He always writes stuff from memory/knowledge, so I knew he would be an intelligent professor.

This man is amazing. Dr. Pacovsky is an encyclopedia of knowledge. His lectures go in-depth and may be hard to digest, but he gives you print-outs that outline everything you need to know. I took Dr. P for Bio I and II and Gen Chem 1. I received a B, A and A respectively. He is very clear about what he is going to test you on 90% of the time. The other 10% is random stuff he may have not gotten the chance to go over in class. Don't be scared off by his fill in the blank style tests. Show up, take good notes, and study with others

I took Dr. Pacovsky for both 1010 lecture and lab. He is nice guy, willing to help and explain anything. I will say his tests and quizzes are very challenging, but if you want to actually learn about bio, Dr. P is your man. Dr. P is very knowledgeable! I took him for Bio 1 & 2. One word of advice Bio 1 is nothing compared to his Bio 2 class, it a lot more challenging. Has a dry sense of humor and can sometimes make offensive jokes but overall a good professor. Would recommend for a motivated science student not for those just trying to graduate who don't care.

Best Bio teacher ever. He explains everything on the board and prints out lecture notes for you which makes it super easy. Makes jokes in class which keeps it going and is a very caring person. If you don't study you won't pass he has fill in the blanks but its exactly what he tells you will be on them so if you don't study you probably won't pass.

He's great. Your grade is based on three quizzes and three tests. Quizzes are fill in the blank and very straightforward, while tests are multiple choice and tricky. His lectures are very informative, and his notes are great. He makes a difficult subject alot easier. This is still a difficult college level science class, but it's easier with him.

Easily the best Biology professor on campus. He is super knowledgeable and can "dumb down" any concepts that you don't understand. This is not an easy A class, but he gives you all of the tools needed to succeed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Amazing teacher. Very knowledgeable, and overall great guy. Gave us everything we needed to pass. Extremely hard to fail this class unless you just never show up.

Dr. P is honestly amazing. He is incredibly smart and he knows it all. Took his 6 week class and although the lectures and tests are heavy he makes sure to let you know what you need to know specifically; he always did his best to help us succeed in this class. Recommend 10/10.

Dr Ray is such an excellent professor. He TEACHES, he cares that you get what he's teaching, otherwise, he is willing to meet with you individually to make sure of that. He is hilarious and makes the class everything but boring. He's my most favorite professor and I will seek him out for all my other classes. PS... extra credits to be earned.

There are so many wonderful things I could say about Dr. P, but just know that you will not regret taking any of his classes. His lectures are very interesting and are structured in a such a way that you are truly absorbing the material. He puts in a lot of effort to make sure his students succeed and enjoy the material.

Very detailed professor. Actually helps you understand the material and gives you the notes to do so! Took him for Bio 1 and taking him again for Bio 2. Take him you wont regret it!

He's pretty straightforward, he lectures what will be on the test & nothing more. He has his own notes that we print out & whatever is on those notes will DEF be on tests/quizzes! 3 fill-in the blank quizzes fyi... but as long as you study the material, you'll be fine. Just make sure to STUDY, don't slack off, pay attention, & you'll get an A.

Professor Pacocsky is a very blunt guy and for that I thank him. Hes not the type of professor that wants to complicate your life. In fact, he is quite the opposite. For an example, instead of requiring the students to buy a textbook, he creates his own outlines of the chapters. So in return, he condenses hundreds of info into maybe 100.

I love this man. He's amazing. Just take him, don't second guess it. He's the most genuine, sincere, prof I have had so far at this college & my absolute favorite. Definitely one of those that impact your life forever. No book, he provides notes. Tests you on the exact thing you study for. Helps you with any challenges. He needs a pay raise for sur

Amazing professor!! You defiantly wont fail this class. Read lecture notes, and over his review he points out the important stuff that will be on your test. He is super funny, keeps your alert & awake. Gives amazing notes.

His notes are amazing, he tells you what could be on the exams every time. You're going to have to study for this class if not you will not get a good grade. You're graded on three fill in the blank quiz's and three multiple choice exams. He is very good at explaining hard to understand concepts and is willing to answer or explain any questions.

Pacovsky is absolutely wonderful! He keeps the lectures entertaining! 100% recommend taking his clss

Great professor!! He gives out his own notes which are outlined nicely and makes lectures interesting. He also lets you know which sections to study for tests. I read the chapters before class and then studied twice a week and passed just fine. Be ready to memorize!!

Professor P was awesome. He provides his own "textbook" and tells you what will be on the test BUT it is a lot of information and you have to take the time to study or you will not pass. He is extremely knowledgable and he keeps your attention during lectures. Just read the sections before class and study what he says and you will pass.

Great professor, he completely sets you up for success. I would've had an A if I had put the work in but I got a B by just looking over the material the day of tests and quizzes. He's great if you have a job outside of school as the study guides he gave are extremely helpful. He kicks you out if you miss more than 6 classes though!

He is a great professor! He cares about the kids in the class and allows you to ask questions to make sure you understand. He lectures every class period but makes them interesting and is VERY funny. There are quizzes and tests which require LOTS of studying but he makes it easy to study and explains what's on them. Awesome Professor, love him!

Dr. Pacovsky is a great professor. His Bio 2 course is not "easy" but he sets it up in such a way that if you put in the bare minimum of effort you cannot fail. His lectures are fun and interesting and he rewards participation. Would take again!

Awesome professor! No textbook purchase necessary he sends out lecture notes for you to follow. Quizzes and tests come straight from the notes. Takes time explaining material to make sure everyone gets it. Passionate in what he does.

Dr. P is a GREAT professor. His lectures are detailed and involved, he makes sure you understand, gives examples, very clear on his grading, BUILDS EC INTO QUIZZES AND TESTS. If you listen and study a little you will pass. Also, flexible and will accommodate you. Even through COVID he didn't go too overboard. Highly recommend for Bio!!
