The worst teacher I have ever had. Does not help at all. When our final exam came, we thought it would be over our discussions in class, but instead it was over Texas Governemnt, right before before the exam he said we need to read the book and take the exam, no review, no help. Don't take him!!
he was a good teacher. i never had a problem going to class he made it interesting and i enjoyed it. the tests were easy and he made the class go very smooth. i like it.

NO NO NO that is all I can say. He is not helpful extremely BORING I would never take him again. The test material is not really covered. If you want to watch west wing every week all semster for the fun of it go for it.
He is not a bad teacher, he has a lot in his head and wants you to think and use your head. You get to use a group your book and notes for the tests!!! The test were not easy but werent too hard, I never studied and made an A! I would take him again it was fun!
Hes not a bad guy, he just doesn't really understand how to teach sufficently. It seems as though he will pop in any movie or documentary just to pass time, this might be better because he is not very good at lecturing. He seems to have good intentions, he really wants you to think but his approach is all wrong. I wouldn't suggest taking him.
If you want to know about politics and don't care about your grade, take him. But if you care about your grade, do not take him. He is a very bad grader.
DO NOT TAKE! He does not tell you what you nned for the tests, a group of 6 people using their books could not finish his test. Very one sided view of politics(liberal). Did not learn a thing other than how to look madly through a book.

Made a B in his class gave alot of xtra credit.He really does try to make u think and use ur head in class. It does fool people who rely on each other and the book. Basically to pull out the important facts and listen.
He is a great lecturer. Notice I didnt say teacher. If you READ and PAY ATTENTION and USE YOUR BRAIN you will make an A in the class. Everything on the tests are either in the lecture or in the reading or both. I made an A and didnt always read but paid close attention in class and took notes verbatim to what he said.

He's so unorganized. Doesn't tell you anything until last minute. He SUCKS at grading! You never really know what he wants from you...he likes to ask really general questions..but than when you give him a really good answer...he takes points off because it's not the same way he see it. DON'T TAKE HIM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Attendence doesn't count for him. I rarely came to class and showed up on test days. He let us use our books on the test, and sometimes let us take the tests home. Easy class. I made a B

Hard tests and lots of in class assignments and they are not always taken for a grade so you have to complete all of them because you never know which will count. He will talk to you briefly if you have a question in class but most questions have to asked during office hours. The material is not hard but there is alot of reading. DIFFICULT CLASS!

Class is hard! I am a very hard working student and this class took almost all of my time and I still did bad. Alot of reading and alot of assigments. He didn't even give credit for some of the assignments. The class average was around 68% so looks like im not the only one having trouble.
A+++ Teacher!!Do not hate on this teacher. As long as you do your assignments, you are fine. I loved the class and the teacher. He was very helpful and made me open my eyes to issues that I was blind to.
He only likes you if you are an outstanding student. I have never failed a class until this one. Find you a better teacher unless you are a gifted student.

HARD CLASS! Like seriously, he is a democrat all the way! He constantly demeaned bush. The class was hard simply because the lectures had little to do with the tests. I was an A student before I took this class, but thanks to him I got my first B. He is a nice guy if you go to talk to him, but his class is sooo hard!

This class was ridiculously hard. Mainly because of his failure to communicate what he expected from his online students. I did an 8 page extra credit report that was never graded. His test were so hard that he gave us a day or two to do the final (open book) and the class average was 67.55, so over half the class failed it.
What a disappointment. He relishes in having a class average of 70 for tests, which doesn't seem to indicate a professor who's interested in teaching subject matter. There are plenty of other GOV teachers at Richland... don't take him.
Extremely difficult teacher. Took his online class and wasted time and money. Didnt give ANY review for tests! He is very vague in his assignments, watched irrelivent movies and wrote essays that he failed the majority of the class. No instruction was given for those. Very liberal, if you don't agree with him dont plan on passing.

The best online course I have ever taken and I have taken many. The films we watched were a great addition to the course and enabled me to really understand some ideas. Tests seem to be primarily from the book with some discussion ideas too. GREAT!!!!
Great class. He encourages hou to think and learn about issues. He is very fair and works very hard to help you pass if you do the work.
Good class. The movies we saw were great. He is clear and very well organized. Some Tests can be taken with your group, book and notes. He allows a little extra credit. iI you read the book, come to class and listen you will do very well.

Oh God. I hate Government. It is SO boring. I really thought I would flunk out of this class but amazingly, Sandoval helped me through it. It's a LOT of work, the online class. Difficult too.... but in the end I passed with a B.... so go for it.
It was an online class that lasted 14 days. The work load was manageable, but his instructions made it seem more difficult. Overall he was satisfacory, I could have made a better grade if I worked more.
Online class and it worked out great. I work until very late and could get the class whenever I wanted. Very interesting and the movie he asked us to see was great.

I loved his lectures, he is very VERY intelligent. Laid back but willing to help. Tests can be hard, but for some he let us use the text book, notes, and people in the groups he put us in. Awesome professor, very few like him at Richland. Go for it and take him!

He answered all my emails faster than any professor and he was VERTY helpful.I studied hard and his tests were very fair and his grading simple (400 points-3 tests) and the grade easy to get if you read the book.
I liked this online class and this teacher a lot. If you read the book and posted to the boards, you did well. he told us to see a movie and that was really great too...great movie. A+ professor.

I DONT NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER TO ANYONE! He is not clear on his instructions. The first test had a study guide but had nothing to do with the test. Im taking this class online, im not even done yet and im already sick of it. If the averages on everything is below passing, whos fault is that?
Please do yourself a favor and don't take this guy. He offers NO help at all. Taking his online class, and his instructions for assignments are VAGUE. He has not responded to any of the discussion boards that the students write (which are 25% of your grade) so you don't know what he wants from you. His tests are hard and irrelevant.
This was probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I am a straight A student and I failed this class. I studied for every test and I turned everything in on time and worked really hard on EVERYTHING. Other say he was quick in response to e-mails...not ONE TIME did he responsd to any of mine or returned any of my phone calls.
I took govt 1 online during the summer. He is meticulous and very unwilling to help. I had an issue at the end of the semester and he practically said, "o well". I recommend someone who actually enjoys teaching.

Dr. Sandoval is an intelligent professor who is ALWAYS willing to help any student. He always answers his e-mail's, and can tell you your grade at any time. You MUST read the book and come to class regularly. He is challenging, but it was a good learning experience!
He talks a lot about things that aren't really on the test like the election..but some of it is. you don't really have to take too many notes. he doesn't take attendance. he gives extra credit but its hard. the tests were pretty hard to me..but just because i do better with listening to lectures than reading the book..hah.
Very hard teacher... Even though he doesn't take attendances, he is very strict about tardiness. To pass his class, you must pay attention in class and read your tectbook, otherwise you WILL fail. I had to drop the class because I was unable to do the 10-12 pages assignment he gave us. Only take his class if you want a serious challenge.
Do not take his class. He is not heplful and unfair. He is rude and short with you. You would think a Dr. would be a nice guy. But no this one.
I took his online 2301 class and it was terrible. He seems to be against giving A's. I wrote lengthy and in depth posts on the discussion boards and received B's on all of them. Any email I sent him was responded to with something short and irrelevant. His directions were never clear but you were penalized if you did not follow them accordingly.
This professor was really hard. Most of the discussion in class weren't on the test.

Dr. Sandoval is full of himself. His lectures are biased and his assignments limit your responses to only one correct answer: his opinion. The book isn't used in lectures but you are still responsible for the material on the tests. His grading scale operates on a needlessly complex point system. He is condescending and rude. Do not take this class!
Makes the class more dificult than it has to be and is never clear on what his tests will be like. Not to metnion no study guides its more like go read 12 chapters and expect a test monday. Not a great prof.
I learned nothing from this class. All he does is talk for the entire class period (you're not allowed to ask questions), and he doesn't cover any of the material that's on the test. But you can't skip class, because he makes you watch movies and tests you over obscure facts. Bring your textbook and read while he's talking; you'll learn a lot more.
Let's look at some actual facts. The syllabus tells you EXACT test dates and EXACT chapters they cover (3 chapters per test, easy if you glance at the material and show for class) and they cover stuff that is talked about in-depth in class. He responded to every e-mail I sent, and I found his lectures relevant and poignant. Highly recommended.

Took the online class. Don't recommend it. It was pretty hard and he asks some questions on the tests and assignments that are very challenging and his "hints" are not very helpful. There are a lot of discussion board assignments that I didn't really care for but that's just me. He also wants everything done in a very particular(annoying) way.

Discussion-based class so make sure you show up and take notes. Uses the book some as well. He moves pretty quickly though so make sure you ask any questions you have quickly and attend class and you won't have problems.

His class is unorganized. Rather than using a textbook, he wants us to search internet and read articles concerned with politics. How do we understand and analyze the political articles? We barely know the concepts of government. This professor expects students too much.
He is my FAVORITE male professor! He really knows his stuff! He expects alot, and if you give alot, you will get alot! Very important you come to class, and pay attention. His test are hard, and gives tons of assignments and is picky on how he grades them, but I learned so much, and he is very passonate about GOVT, need to be mature 4 his class!

BEST GRADE I HAVE EVER GOTTEN IN A CLASS! He gives more extra credit than any professor EVER! Ending grade of over 100, and I'm not a very good student. I think Dr. Sandoval gets a bad rap because he doesn't come across as nice, but I talked to him during his office hours, and he was actually a really nice guy. This class is easy. I recommend him.
Man, This class was very hard. I took it online and it was very hard. The discussion boards were like research paper and you had to have outside sources. Extra credit my back. This guy doesn't care if you work hard or not. He will grade your post and give the most less possible grades. I am an A student and barely got C and I worked really hard.

I got a C in his class. I would much rather take Patrick Moore for any government, but if you're stuck with him he's okay not the worst you could have.

GOOD Teacher
3 weeks into course, only 1 grade posted which is test 1 that is automatically graded if taking course online. Can't post ahead with DB's, for replies to others you must wait a day apart. DB's are graded pretty hard; actually they are research papers which are very long, not DB's. Must watch movie and answer questions. Gives extra credit so do it!

This professor acts like he is teaching at an ivy league school. I took texas govt with him because I need this class complete before I can start nursing school. he is a very hard grader and I am not sure he gives out any "A's". He acts as if this is a research class not a entry level govt class. I wouldn't recommend taking him.
I did well in his class but most of the class got low grades. I was one of two or three people to get an a out of a class of +25. I do not recommend him if you want an easy A class. In his defense he is very knowledgeable in the subjects he teaches!
About 7 DB's per class, all were not relevant to the test material. Did not make the test available to look at afterwards (didn't know what questions I got wrong). Takes about 3 weeks to receive a grade. Test questions are mostly subjective, so it is hard to have a good understanding of what the answer even might be. Sorry I had this teacher,twice.

I don't recommend his online course. I am a straight A student and I am struggling in his class. I read/studied every single chapter and still barely passed his tests; He grades super harsh on all of his discussion boards. Takes forever to get your grades back. But he is very helpful when you have a problem and responds fairly quickly to emails.

Don't expect an A when you come in this class. He grades very hard and very vague on what to study for the tests. This is the first time I’ve participated in an online course where the Professor was absent the entire time. The online gradebook dated 2010, announcement 2009-2011. Nothing on the website was updated. There weren’t any power points, lecture notes, feedback on any of the discussions. Questions & writing were vague, misspelled or confusing.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! The films he chooses to use in order to "teach" are not only graphic, but horrifying and traumatizing as well. When I had to step out of class due to a terribly disturbing scene, he felt I would not be able to grasp the idea of slavery...? Also, his tests are opinion based and the book is irrelevant. SKIP THIS "PROFESSOR"!
I have 4.0 GPA, Teacher is horrible, took this class online, and it's the first time with an entirely online course that I wasn't allowed to do any work ahead of time, even though it was available. DB's are graded very critically and slowly. NOT looking forward to 2306 later this semester. NOT RECOMMENDED PROF.

The class "lectures", homework's/quizzes, and test are all completely irrelevant to each other and there is no way to study for them. He is also the most stubborn person I've ever met.

Best online course I have ever taken and in fact one of the best courses along with professor Coder that I have taken in college. I saw things in a different way and learned new ideas that I had never thought of before.
This guy is terrible, his discussions aren't even discussions he wants you to right essays, and even outlines things in a way to shape your opinion. He's a biased instructor and I don't even know if he realizes it. I'm pretty sure he's a great guy personally, but as an instructor I will never take his class again nor recommend him.

He changes due dates &I can't stare @the computer don't have the time. Graded everything last min &gave me low grades, so I wont ever know why or what I did wrong very unfair honestly worst class I've ever taken
He changes due dates and says that it is your responsibility to be checking when that happens, grades everything last minute so that doesn't teach you the mistakes you make and so you continue to do your work the same way. I put all my effort in this class and unfortunately I just made my fist C- my lowest grade ever I regret taking his class.
I took his course twice and received an F both times even though I received As on other courses I was taking at the same time. He is very strict and the tests had nothing to do with the book and he didn't give me credit for my extra credit paper either.

Unless you're majoring in "Texas" Government, DON'T take him!!! His tests are unnecessarily difficult; nothing to aid the student in studying. Discussion boards are also graded with bias. Stay away!
Let us be fair. He has a clear up front posted class schedule which does not change very much except to help students (extend time). He always answers emails very fast. His tests are standard types of test no different than my other courses. The discussion boards are interesting and just require some thought and writing. A very easy B.

The forced McGraw Hill easy to get through so you don't learn, discussion forms based on quantity not quality, and tests never have much to do with what you just went through in McGraw Hill. This class succeeds in making you hate government. 'F' for failing to teach
Educational? More like indoctrination. Here is an example from the "extra" book you're required to read "So many Anglos are apparently ignorant of this history, or conveniently forget.." This book and course have nothing to do with Texas gov., but instead, represent a chilling future which outline just how easily racism and hatred can be recycled.
Despite all of the tests being online and open book, I really did not enjoy him as a teacher. His lectures are boring and hard to listen to, and he's not friendly or helpful-and that's only if he decides he wants to email you back. He never updated blackboard; you're either there for information for an assignment, or that's just too bad for you.
Terrible professor assignment are worded in a way that tricks you. He even states at times be very careful. Word the lectures and assignment in terminology that is understandable. He seems to get a kick out of confusing students. Never had a tougher class out of the 60 plus I have completed before. Professor seems to think to highly of himself.
Professors might be teaching to many classes that he can handle. Worst professor ever. Be prepared to feel frustrated and upset at the complication text he used. Do not take this course unless you want to feel stupid.

Honestly you just have to do all your discussion boards the right way do all your work. & you should do good in this class don't slack off you get to learn lots of interesting things in class.
I think he expects us to dedicate an immense amount of time and effort to his discussion boards. There are more like mini research papers. He's really passionate about his subject but that doesn't mean he should grade us so harshly. He's also rude. Many test questions were based on statistics, like "what percentage of...."? Very difficult.
This is the best professor ever. Many students rate him poorly because he doesn't just hand out As. But that's life, important things things aren't just easy. He is VERY knowledgable about his field and presents every side of government without forcing an agenda on you. There is some reading, bi-weekly quizzes, one mid-term paper and a final paper.
I started out slow but the prof really helped me and I ended up with B. The prof was very kind and listened to me.
This was not an easy class. However, I found the professor very responsive and helpful. It is an important class in order to learn how our government works. I'm glad I took this class and had this professor.
Lectures are confusing and the test information is all over the place. Here's the key to Dr. Sandovol. He has these boards and in class papers. What he likes to see is MLA Format. Use you english 1301 skills on your work. I did bad on tests, yet got an A. I think he grades on a curve, be at the top of the curve. MLA format with references!
Unless you actually talked to him you would know how to do the assignments right. Discussion boards are somewhat difficult if you skip class. Some of the questions on his tests are neither discussed nor in the textbooks, you'll have to use google to help you. Very opinionated.
i do not recommend. took for online quick flex class. 5 writing assignments, 4 tests. not clear in instructions. biased assignments (he latino, so immigration etc are hot topics of discussion for him) barf. dropped him after the first week of observing his approach. somewhat quick in email responses. needs to be more clear with communication.

If you do not understand something than ask for help. The curve is very substantial usually so don't panic if you are not doing too well on the tests. Read a lot and carefully.

Best teacher i have EVER had!!! Very knowledgeable and knows many other fields of study.
The worst professor by far. The tests has barely anything to do with the chapters you read, which he gives about 3-7 chapters per test. I felt like all the reading was for nothing, don't take his online class maybe the lecture is better. By the end of the summer term, only six students left including me from a class of about 25 or more.
He grades VERY harsh, very rude via email for specific questions. Would not recommend him to anyone!
Follow the rules on discussion board posts ( which are very important) and papers and you will do fine. The tests follow the book and are easy if you read. He is quick to respond to email and helps a lot. I needed test extensions and different times and days for tests and he did that with no hassle.
HARSH grader for absolutely no reason. Tests doesnt even correlate to the textbook, so spending money on the textbook is a waste. On the other hand, he is quick to reply to emails, although he has a slight attitude for honest questions. Also he is understanding about extensions for tests.
Tests follow the book and seem very standard. read the book, take notes and you will do fine on tests. The discussion boards are important and you need to respond to them as soon as they are required as they have differing due dates and you lose points if you do not respond when due. He responds to emails very quickly and helps you so email him.

If I didn't have to take this class as a core requirement I wouldn't have. His grading seemed unfair to me. The tests follow the book, which is great, but if you don't do the boards exactly how he wants them then you have no chance.
Do not take this class online. Tons of reading, from the textbook and a fictional book. He is not helpful and condescending in emails. His instructions are long and drawn out and do not make sense. I emailed him for clarification and he responded rudely. Save yourself the grief because no matter what I did, he wasn't happy with my work.

Looking to complete GOVT 2306 as an easy summer credit? DO NOT take Sandoval. His class and discussion board expectations are extremely high. "Discussion boards" are mini research papers, and tests contain tiny details from the book. Reading the entire book AND taking good notes is necessary (but who has time to do that in a short, online class?!)
I barely passed this class, I managed to fail every test he gave because it was so difficult. His test questions do not correlate with the book, and eventually, I just gave up reading. I was able to pass this class because I did well on my discussion boards, so completing these tasks is crucial for your grade. Be prepared for stress..

Do not take this class online. The directions he gives you through the announcements are unclear. The rules to posting in the discussion board about not posting more than two posts per day does not make sense when you are trying to get caught up or ahead. Also if you are new to college, the access code does not come with a rental!
This guy's great. I found his instructions very specific and clear. He repeats them several times in several places. If you post to boards when and as required and do the test, you can do well. The tests are standard stuff. He is very helpful if you contact him about yor problems or schedule. TAKE the course!!!
No syllabus, no calendar with dates on it. The absolute worst. If you can't take the time to actually organize your class how am I supposed to do my work?
He is extremely liberal and takes a HEAVY stance on everything Latino. Wrote a great essay (he said so) but he did not like my stance on presidental options so I received a 10 out of 100 because "I only responded to 1 other post rather than the 2). AWFUL! Just pretend you feel the same as him and you will get a better grade!
Incredible teacher. Works with you. The class requirements are simple and v very clear. Do the boards, take the tests ,read the books and easily get a good grade
The class was hard test questions came from book so be prepared to buy books and do some reading discussions boards there are 8 which better be answered at your best there is no extra credit given at all

Awfully ethnocentric. If a post said anything negative about a Latino, no matter how credible the source, he'd argue with you on the post. INCREDIBLY condescending in emails. Answered boards in entirety and if he didnt agree with the FACTS I had graded poorly. No idea how I made an A. Had to have been curved--had a C+ on ecampus, A on transcript.
I had problems fell behind but he helped me to pass and guided me.
There are about 5-7 discussion boards which are basically mini-research essays and need to be answered at your absolute best. Make sure you read the books he assigns. Also pay attention to the rules about posting to the boards. This is not an impossible class but you need to put a lot of effort into it. An A is possible, you just need to work hard.
He is very knowledgeable and definitely makes sure you do your research and read the books he assigns. He is also very clear on all of his instructions, only make you read them accordingly. I learned so much by taking his class, totally worth it.

Great class and prof. he responds very quickly to email. He does not mind answering lots of questions and provides good help. He really cares. As long as you do the work when it is due and read fairly easy.
His syllabus is a jumbled mess. It's like he literally typed his whole thought process out into a Word document and didn't bother to go back and revise it so that other people could read it without having to decipher it. He expects you to be clear and to the point in your writing but cannot manage to hold himself to the same standard.
Good class. I did not know much about the subject and he made it interesting after I got used to it. Follow the directions for discussions and read the book-tests were easy.
Learned a lot. The discussions and doing things on time are important. Do things on time and read the books and a B is easy.

Usual class 3 tests and chapter work but also has discussion boards which really make you think and are sort of cool (5 of them ) so you can do well on the boards and flub a test

I took this class online for 4 weeks, and the discussion boards require a lot of work. However the tests are easy if you read the book. The class was a little overwhelming at first because of the discussion boards since they are basically mini essays. There were 5 discussion boards, 3 tests including the final and then chapter quizzes.
His syllabus is awful. His feedback is basically just him being rude or condescending. Do yourself a favor and pick ANY other professor.
The syllabus is difficult to follow, but once you can understand it you're going to do well. Lots of reading with shorts amount of time, but as long as you read you should do fine. Make sure your effort is there on discussion boards (research style). Aside from that Dr. Sandoval is easily accessible and responds quickly to emails. wasn't impossible
Took as 4wk. You have the option to only do the 5 discussion boards and 4 exams or you can add bookwork to help raise grade. All Exams and book work are easy. HW questions are the exam questions. Discussion boards are most difficult, but at normal college level. Grades slow, emails fast,let me take an exam late when I asked ahead for a vacation.
Pretty much do your work and you will pass. Took his class online, followed syllabus and all was great! I was a little skeptical at the first sight to syllabus but, I was able to do good in Mr. Sandovals class. I did purchase the book used the smaller of the two I think called "The Buenavida Dilema" and it was pretty interesting and it helps. :)
Do not take this professor if you are only taking this class because you HAVE TO. He assigns 700 to 900-word Discussion Board assignments, heavily-weighted, and expects you to obtain better stats to support your research than the US Census Bureau itself. He is sardonic and pedantic with his Discussion Board assignment instructions and feedback.
VERY HARD TO PLEASE! You can do the assignments and he's not pleased with it, regardless of how much work you put into them. You can do appropriate research on the discussion boards and he will say you didn't do enough or not up to his standards. The discussion boards are literally mini essays. Nothing was ever enough. Ridiculous discussion board assignments and directions were not clear and he always wanted more. We don't care about government! 99% are taking it as a core class, so he needs to chill out because no one really cares. Worst class i've taken at Richland and thank god it was online only

He helped my when I needed it. He was very responsive to my needs. As long as you follow the rules for the discussion boards and put in some effort, you will do well. ( at least a B or higher)He does expect research but on the other hand his multiple choice tests and extra credit are easy and mostly boo. So thereis a balance and I learned a lot.

Take all of the comments on the "Awful" reviews and combine them together and that is what his class is. I spent over 2 hours doing research on the first discussion post, went well over 500 words and the response I received was like he didn't even read my answer and then came up with more questions that weren't even asked in the initial assignment.
Easy class. Do the work as described get an A
From the very first assignment which was a biography of yourself, this professor emailed me back telling me it was incomplete and the file was incorrect. In his intructions he never specified and I had a screenshot of the assignment I sent him the image to explain this. I got no response. This went on with every assignment afterward.
This professor was awful. It's as if he doesn't actually READ the discussion board posts and I felt he graded based on his own personal opinion rather than the actual content. His feedback on discussion board posts was unhelpful and often times didn't even align with what I posted.
I fell behind in the work. He helped me and provided ways for me to catch up on much of the work. He pointed out important ideas that were missing from my discussions.
Professor Sandoval's class was probably the toughest I had this semester but feel I actually learned more. Discussions need to be written more like essays, and need to be backed by factual sources. He is a tough grader but I found most of his negatives about my discussions to be fair. I think many negative reviews here are from those who were lazy.

Professor Sandoval is a really tough grader. There were 5 discussion boards, and each one required a lot of work and outside resources. If you read the book, the tests are easy. Do the assignments on time, and you shouldn't have any problem.
Due to a horrible accident, I missed 1 discussion board assignment. When I returned from the hospital, I was denied to submit my work and received a 0, which seriously hurt my grade. All 3 of my other professors were understanding and sympathetic. NOT THIS ONE! Do your work way ahead of time so this does not happen to any of you!
I took his 8 week online course and it isnt as bad as people make it. There are like 17 chapter assignments but they're only participation grades so get them done and you're good. There are 4 discussion boards which require alot of work and he grades them really toughly but if you put in the effort you should be good. If i got an A so can you.
The professor assigns discussion boards that have on average 10-12 questions within one discussion board; all of which are expected to be written in an essay format. The questions within the discussion board are heavily opinionated and do not allow room for the discussion itself. However, he expects pure fact answers for his opinionated questions.
The quizzes are extremely easy, they are only graded by completion and does not matter how many you got wrong. So youll get a hundred on any quiz regardless. Now when it comes to discussion boards he lists off numerous topics in one board and expects you to cover every single topic and detail you mention. If not expect major grade points off.
Tough grader when it comes to discussion boards. There are 7+ topics in each board, you are expected to cover every topic with lots of research. If you fail to explain any detail be ready to get a great amount of points deducted. Quizzes are easy, they are only graded on completion.
This class was an elective requirement. It was taken as a 4 week module class in the summer. There were 4 discussion board and lots of chapter assignments at least 17. Be ready to work if taken during the 4 weeks period. He is a very stern grader and your papers written has to be satisfactory in regards to his grading scale.
Honestly, I would never take this professor again. He thinks he is changing the world but in reality he's just being an annoying man who is trying to justify being in academia. He grades the discussion boards like they are a thesis for a masters degree. Do not take this class if you are needing to raise your GPA. He is just going to drop it.
This class is very repetitive and boring. All it consists of is 4 discussion boards and a lot of textbook work. There are often many typos in his instructions, which can make it confusing. There is hardly any communication between him and the students. Overall, it is a very boring class with an average professor but not necessarily hard to do well.
His instructions are not clear in the slightest, the book is long, drawn out, and difficult to read. Assignments are so far apart and so close together, such as literally not having anything in the month of October. At all. He gives a little introduction work and then gives a test over 9 CHAPTERS.
The textbook part of his class is easy and his class has basically no work. However, there are 4 mini essay assignments that are a huge part of your grade (As well as the final) and he grades them very hard. I did not enjoy this class at all.

Do not take this professor's class! There is so much work assigned and his instructions are very unclear! His grading is unfair and not really clear, especially on the discussion boards. So PLEASE save yourself the trouble and choose another professor.
Most terrible professor I've had. Doesn't care about student success even if you reach out to him kindly. Assignments are ridiculously spaced out. Instructions so confusing and full of typos for Discussion boards (wont get full points unless they align with his opinions). He'll never be satisfied nor will he be lenient or care about you. Dont take.
Your grade relies on the 4 major discussion board assignments and the final exam. He grades the discussion boards extremely heavily, and if you do not agree with his opinion you won't get a good grade. The class was out of 600 points for me, and he gave me a 50/100 for the first discussion board, making it almost impossible for me to end with an A.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. I can't speak for his class in-person, as I took it online. Your grade pretty much relies on four mini-essays, which are graded subjectively. He assumes that if you put in enough research, you'll arrive at his conclusions, which leads to grade deductions if you don't. Yes, it was that bad. Switch classes if at all possible.
Grades mainly depend on 4 discussion boards that he grades very seriously. Does not even leave room for tiny amounts of error. Expects to know the content on top of our head and even warns for completing coursework at a fast pace. Really take some time and consider this course for dual credit coz it might waste your time and mental sanity
Grade is centered on 4 Discussion Boards. He does not grade too hard, but he will not grade if it is not submitted by due date. Late discussion boards are automatic zeros.
