GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!!! TAKE HIS CLASS - YOU'LL LOVE IT.
Great guy, great class. Really caters to the student.
Overrated! Grades term papers by throwing them down the stairs. Or maybe he has his bartender do the grading!
Great guy, goofy and funny. Will have you laughing. Watch for the quizzes. You should do fine with m.c. I would take him any day. No papers. No nothing. Fun all around. If he gets to know your name and know something about you, he will remember you.
Easy class. Nice guy, if gets to know your name you're golden. Take notes, no outside work required.

Hilarious!! His laugh is contagious. Easy tests and it is hard NOT to get an A on the papers. Take any of his classes!!
great goofy prof, rambles a bit during lecture and tends to loose you, but tests are no prob. fairly easy A if you study.

Great Crazy guy... made every class interesting. Would definately take him again.

GREAT professor - really caring and funny. Not a ton of work - mostly memorization. It's ok to miss some classes but don't skip them all - if he gets to know you you'll have a great time in the class.
Dr. T is one of the best profs at Loyola. Very easy 101 class if you showup and do the work. If you don't than you can do poorly. If he gets to know your name he'll remember it and always be there to help you.
Awesome class! Good or bad, give him a reason to know your name and you are in!
Ray is the great. All of the tests come directly from the reading, so if you know anything at all about politics, you don't have to come to class---in fact he tells you not to. Very knowledgeable and builds great class cohesion.
I have taken three of his classes. He genuinely cares about his students understanding the subject matter. He also lets you borrow his book to copy his highlights.
Ray shouldn't be teaching the American Presidency...he should BE the PRESIDENT! i'm only sad that i discovered him so late in my carreer at loyola.
Raytard is the best ever, especially when his laugh goes, "ahoohaah." He is a great prof, and I have taken him over and over.
He's awesome... understanding, HILARIOUS and his tests are so straightforward. counts 2 out of 3 thnigs usually (midterm, final, paper/test) and gives a study guide for the tests. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
This guy is great, he'll keep you interested in the material. He has a great sense of humor and is very informative. I've taken him twice & both times were great. It is a class you will actually want to go too. Hey Dr. Tatalovich, thanks I learned a lot.
Tattys great! take him if it is at all possible. he designs his courses to help his students succeed. make sure he knows your name and you've got it made.
This guy is hilarious. It's a very intersting class. Not to difficult either. He said I didn't have a very strong essay and still gave me a b+. Just work on the essay questions well enough to have an outline or a basic draft of the essay.
Dr. Tatalovich is quite possibly the coolest professor at Loyola. His class can be a little dry sometimes and he gets off on tangents, but he is immensely funny. The joke about the Pope he told this semester is by far joke of the year in my book.
Mr.T rocks the class room! my personal favorite is when he plugs his own books in class...that and when he talks about the many great war stories emitting from canada and their ONE tank. What a guy!
Ah, Ray is so awesome. Midterm, Paper, Final and you get an A! He is so nice, and not a hard grader - which is much appreciated! Write the paper, no matter how bad it is u will get at least a B - trust me! And that means no final! Awesome professor!
TAKE THIS MAN!!! He is sooooo fun and just a great guy. You will never enjoy a class more that you don't have to go to.
Tatolovich is one of the best professors at Loyola. Made 8:30 class fun and enjoyable. His tests are very very easy. Also gives extra credit opportunities. Take this man!
had tatalovich before. likes you if you take his class again. incredibly fun and hilarious. really what can i say that hasn't been said already. in his presidency class (at least for honors) never gives lower than a b i think. real cool guy.
The guys a nutcase. Knowledgable but completely unclear. Midterm impossible, luckily he gave us a 17 point curve. Easy enough A but don't think you'll learn much.
It's a good thing I pay $28,000 to go back to high school. If you took high school civics, you'll get an A. Totally easy, you don't even need to show up for class. Just read the book and handouts.
HE is a riot! This was the EASIEST class I have ever taken; probably easier than some high school classes. Class attendance not necessary to get an A. Show up to class the 2 days before the quizzes and you can sleep through them and get an A
This guy is a riot! Love it! So entertaining, and definitely an easy class.
One of the best teachers ever. The guy is hilarious. 6 quizes, drop 2...can't get much easier than that. Take this class just so u can hear this man laugh.
Ray is a great guy and trys to get to know each student at a personal level. However, he is at Loyola to do research (more than most faculty in the dept) so he doesn't care much about his classes. Easy class, and you'll get a little out of it - not a lot.
Tatalovich is hysterical, gives you study guides, and will check off what you need to know as he goes through his lectures. If you do as he says and take notes, you'll be fine.
Dr. T is an excellent--sweet, intelligent one of LUC's best! Other instructors should look to his example in fact. Dr. Tatalovich, I hope you are reading this, I want to thank you for helping me to improve my analytical and writing skills. Thank You! :)
Ta Ta Ta TODAY TATALOVICH!!!! AWESOME LAUGH!!! Take him but make sure you study!
He is Awesome! Likes to know students on a one-to-one basis with last names despite a huge class. Makes learning a subject dry as political science fun and a delightful experience! If you need a Soc. Sci. core Dr. Tatalovich is whom you need! Can drop TWO of six easy exams. Will give study guides.
great class, would recomend to anyone.... makes learning boring material bareable 6 tests (each is 25 questions multi choice), study and u will be fine!! and what a sense of humor this guy has!!!!
He is absolutely worthless. He is NOT a good teacher at all. He grades on a whim. You don't put EXACTLY what he wants on essays and you lose points for it. Absolutely ridiculous.
He is very unclear. In addition, his tests were not fair. There were two tests. Each test had 25 questions worth 2 pts each. He gives out study guides but they are useless, for they are so utterly vague. I like how he has taught in other courses but Canadian politics is not his strengh....he shows little or no interest in the subject!
The short story is this was a class I was looking forward to and the prof was supposed to be great. I realized that was a mistake on day two. The class was difficult because lectures were not related to tested material and readings were even farther off. Ray is nice guy but snaps at the end of ever year. & What killed me is he tested on a footnote.
Brilliant, lenient on attendance, notorious for grade raising if class has problem with test. All test questions from book, lectures for fun.

Im surprised he's still teaching with all the insults he throws around to faculty and students. Don't answer a question wrong unless you want your day ruined.
I had him for PLCS 100 and loved him. Then i got to this class and was immediately dissapointed. i did poorly on one graded section bc i had mono, went to talked to him, and he basically told me i was stupid and lazy. i dont mind hard classes, but this one was just awful, especially since the topic is so interesting.
I expected a very good class from him, but all he did was complain about how poorly his book was edited, and he did the editing. Expect your slef-esteem and respect for him to drop after asking for help or advice. With all of the insults directed towards students and his colleagues it's amazing he is still teaching.
All his tests are mult. choice, and he drops 3 of the quizzes, plus the final is composed of all questions from previous tests. he won't try to trick you, and you'll know exactly what to expect in the tests. His lectures are really unclear though as he tends to lose track of what he's talking about and goes on about other topics.
Total ass. He will yell at you and tell you how stupid you are if you answer a single question wrong. Tests are ridiculously hard and even though he uses his own book, he continually ****es about how things in it are wrong. Thought this class was going to be great and it ended up sucking...alot.
Not a hard class, and hillarious to listen to. He mocked me more than once, but you know he's joking around (at least in this class, can't speak for 300 level ones). Six 25 point mult choice quizzes, drop the two lowest of the middle four (have to keep 1 and 6), and he literally tells you exactly what's on each one. Always gives extra credit opps.
He's an ass and he yells but he knows his stuff. Stick with him and you'll do fine. He doesn't ask for anything more than what's on the sylbus. GO TO CLASS and do the reading!! If you're interested it's interesting.
Multiple Choice Midterm. Short Paper where all he is looking for is whether you agree with him. True/False Final. The class wasn't hard in the sense that it took no actual thought whatsoever, but getting an A depends more on whether you agree with him. Gets annoyed when people disagree with him, and then gets annoyed when no one participants.
Horrible! Told us he wants to kill Judge Stevens because he's so liberal & old. Made fun of Lincoln for being manic-depressive & FDR for having polio. Total jerk. His lectures are all over the place & he goes on tangents about his forthcoming textbook all time. Can't keep his hateful neo-conservative opinions separate from the material.
Dr. Tatalovich is a real treat. He is very bright and exceedingly funny - and he brings ample illustrations of both qualities to the classroom. He allows his tongue-in-cheek humor to break the ice and engage the class. It is effective, occassioanlly abrasive, but always welcome - especially for material that w/o him, could be quite bland.
A great professor with a good sense of humor. I laughed my ass off in this class!
Lectures can be funny but you'll never have to go to class if you read the text book. All tests multiple choice and the final is questions from past MC quizzes. Has weird sense of humor, goes off on tangents, might pick on you in class so stay out of the front row. Doesn't hide conservative bias but c'mon, plenty of liberal profs. do the same.
The guy is Liberal, and if you sway toward that side of things He's fantastic. His 101 course consists of 6 tests, he drops 2 lowest scores. His lecture is very entertaining and he has tons of enthusiasm. I loved this class.
Pretty easy class, you really need to know the chapters to do well though on the exams. However the final consists of previous exam questions taken verbatim, not a bad choice. Kind of unclear though about what's going to be on tests.
Crazy guy but it keeps the class interesting...reads out of the book most of the class. It is boring but it helps prepare you for what he is looking for on the test. One paper, two tests. He took the highest two grades. Overall I think every polisci major should take him while he is still here.
Hilarious guy, really easy. Basically tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test, so I don't see how anyone could get below a B in the class. 6 quizzes, drops the 2 lowest grades. Everything is out of the book, so be sure to buy it. Really made the subject interesting and funny.
Good guy, humorous - his comments are great in class - he does not stick to the book in class- goes on to tangents that are hilarious. Tests are take home (usually) and he drops one. Take him!
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....can someone say funniest professor at loyola university. He is adorable and by far loves to teach what he knows. Not a single day will go by without him wasting 10 mins on funny stories, and he picks on kids in class about jokes too. Great guy...ha ha ha ha ha
I love Dr. Tatalovich! He is very funny and interesting. I learned a lot from his class and I liked that it wasn't too easy. His book, Moral Controversies... is great and I would recommend it to everyone.
He is a good professor, but is a bit strange. GO TO CLASS-he says the textbook is the bible, but he goes over everything that will be on the test in class. Tests are EASY as long as you study. DO NOT seconf guess yourself on the tests-the answers really are as obvious as they seem. Be sure to mention Monica Lewinsky and Ronald Reagan...
One of the funniest Professors at Loyola. Reads directly from the book in class. Jokes in class makes the subject matter more interesting. Tests are a lot harder than he claims. Even if you study, the items on the study guide transform into trick questions on the test and you end up answering something you weren't prepared for. Good class to take!
Clearly likes what he does, loves the material. Also, he's kind of a jerk - and not afraid to mock you in class. All in all, pretty fair guy, though.
I must say that he is not as easy as everyone claims. Attendence is totally mandatory for a good grade.
This guy is nuts. Tells a lot of funny stories. He'll make you laugh a lot, most of the time unintentionally. 6 quizzes- 1st and 6th quiz count but he drops the two lowest scores from the other 4. Final is the same questions from the first 4 quizzes. All the questions taken directly from book. He'll tell you what to look at for tests. Pretty easy.
Tatalovich is the easiest teacher I have ever had, but I would not recommend him. He's not funny, in fact, I found many of his jokes to be offensive. He regularly came to class late and then spent five minutes going through the roll for a class of about 40 students. He's sweet, but crazy and unhelpful.
I took this class because of all the ratings raving about how funny and easy he is. The class IS pretty easy, but not as funny as I hoped it would be. Still a good class to take!
Arrogant man. Read the book. Sometimes he makes you chuckle. Plays favorites but then gets weird and yells out of no where. Gets on tangents constantly. 8:15AM is way too early to deal with him.
Dr. Tat is the bee-knees! His class is not exactly easy, but he made it great. It was a perfect 8am class because it always started my day right. He's really helpful, though tough to get ahold of. He even e-mailed me and asked if I wanted to take a make-up exam when I caught the flu. Serioulsy, how awesome is that!? Carry on Ray- you are the man!
He says his class is really easy and you don't have to go, but you do. If you don't go to class then you won't do well on the tests because he asks the most obscure things. His teaching style doesn't even make you want to go to class.
This class was a nightmare, studied countless hours for exams and each test was only 25 questions, but extremely difficult. This professor will not help you outside of class unless you track him down yourself. Save yourself the trouble and heartache unless you are a polysci major...
funny prof. easy class. 6 exams 25questions each. 1st and 6th are mandotory cannot be dropped, 2-5 two lowest dropped. the 6th exam is cumulative 25 questions from previous 5exams. i think i attended the class half the time, and ended up with an A. he spells out exactly whats going to be on the exam. if you dont attend class read the book, EASY
Awful Class. Straight Hour and fifteen minute lecture. Quizzes are terrible with weirdly worded questions. Answers questions very condescendingly. Overall avoid this prof!
extremely spacey! always went on tangets. hard "exams" 25 questions each. took 15 minutes each. hes a nice man but not a very good teacher
Tatalovich is a very nice man but a very bad teacher. He is not organized, the material is fairly easy but the exams are not a fair representation of what is on the exams. His class is hit or miss. I didn't do well but did not put alot of effort in, however when i did study for exams i still did poorley.
Great professor. Not the easiest grader but you actually learn in his class.
Such a great class! RT is great! He kept the class laughing the whole time which is good since the class was at 830AM. The class was based on attendance, two tests, and a twenty page paper. It wasn't an easy A but it wasn't too hard to get an A either.
Very unclear. He gets off topic so much that it's hard to distinguish what is actually relevant to the lecture. His tests are difficult because they are filled with unnecessarily specific questions. He has funny moments, but at times they are at the expense of the students.
Easiest teacher of my freaking life. Don't think he is teaching anymore as of 2012. 6 dumb easy exams. 2 lowest are dropped. Tells you what EXACTLY is on every test. I went to 1/3 of the classes and got a 97. Gives free Extra credit. Really funny guy too.
Super easy class and Tatalovich is hilarous. He does go off on a lot of tangents, which makes the class both amusing, but also a little confusing if you don't know what he is talking about. He tells you exactly what is on the tests, drops low tests and the final is laughable. By going to class and barely opening the book I got an easy A.
Very interesting character. He clearly enjoys his job, and enjoys telling stories. I hardly ever went to class, but still received an A. Read the book, and it is nearly impossible to fail.
RT is a great teacher. He is extremely entertaining and funny. Attendance is not mandatory, but you want to go just to listen to his lectures. His exams are straight forward as long as you read the chapter and know what is going on in class. Take this class you will not be disappointed!
He is not as bad as people make him out to be. Tatalovich is funny, those who found him offensive have to understand his views are not the same as yours and if you're a PoliSci major get used to that. Tatalovich is such a great guy. He is vary fair. Take him class.
This guy is a great professor/teacher. Political science was not my major, but, I love taking classes focusing on politics, government, and other related areas. Is this course/professor an easy A? Yes & No. Yes it can be if you do the work-the reading, good notes and attend the lectures, and do the studying for the exams. No,if none of the above.
He is just great!!!!! I took him freshman year and I am now a junior. I have yet to take a class with a better professor.
Goes off on tangents basically the entire class. The sub was much better in virtually every aspect.
Tatalovich fell ill for most of the semester, but the time he did teach he was great. Good sense of humor, kept you awake in the morning. Didn't care if you showed up to class. Told you literally how many questions on which subject matter. Students have to take first and last test, the remainder they can pick two.
He is such a great human and an amazing professor. Take him as many times as you possibly can. Smart and charismatic.
Tatalovich is kind of a weird guy, but he has a sense of humor. He is very clear about what is on the test. 6 tests, all of them are only 25 questions multiple choice. He only grades the first one, the last one, and then your best 2 from in between (so 4 tests graded total). He tends to get off topic in lecture a lot, which made an 8am class hard.
He's a nice guy. Some thought this class was easy, but I didn't think it was worth it. Lectures are a joke, he rambles on and on and it's mostly heckling the class with a few jokes sprinkled here and there followed by A LITTLE bit of relevant info to the course. I thought tests were hard, but I guess they aren't if you memorize the readings.
He's a great Prof. He is very funny and keeps class entertaining! Only teaches what is on the tests, when he goes off topic, he will say it. Really enjoy him.
Professor Talalovich is this cute, old guy who often goes off on tangents; however, he still discusses a majority of what you need to know. He drops your two lowest tests. The tests are short and straight forward. I used the book rarely, just skimmed. It's definitely an easy A. It's just like government in high school especially AP gov.
