Tests not related to lessons, he knows his stuff but doesn't teach it well.
doest know how to teach, should rather be a bus driver. Hope he retires soon!
i kno ur reading this ray, WHY ARE YOUR TESTS NOT RELATED TO STUFF IN CLASS?
I don't think he knows anything happened after 1980
tests not related to stuff taken in class, overall i hope he dies..
Fun teacher but a bit picky and long tests. He gets easier after midterms tho.
why i'm only getting a B+??? i knew the stuff!!!
he is not a good teacher and does not care for his students
If you come to class and read his notes you can do well
Has excellent handouts, expects alot from his students but overall I learnt alot
No Comments
DOnt take this teacher, he doesnt like teaching
Ray is a great teacher. No, he's not easy, but at least you learn something
good handouts, hard tests, very hard marker. funny mustach !!!

doesn't seem like a nice guy (in class) - dont know if he really cares for his students well being.
Very strict and one sided mind!
Hard subject, fast talker, proud individual who likes to believe his CISY students will do better than students from other CISY class.... +)
lots of handouts....but we have to memorize all of that???hard sometimes...but overall...it's ok!!
He deducted marks because I put March 3 instead of March 3, 2003 on my title page!!!!! Enough said!
He is VERY strict on marking, even spelling mistakes. He is very helpful and clear but is VERY HARD. You will learn a lot from him and he prepares you well for the real world. His 2hr exams actually takes 3hrs so use your time wisely.
he is good prof., but i don't like him.......personal opinion......
DON'T MISS HIS CLASS. HARD HARD teacher, but you learn a lot......a lot of assignment, long and detail exams . Time management is very important in his class. if you are not ready, don't take him...so easy to get F.
HE'S FANTASTIC! BUT YOU HAVE TO BE PREPARED TO WORK,WORK,WORK! YOU WILL BE PREPARED FOR THE REAL WORLD WITH HIS CLASS. WORK HARD, WATCH THE DETAILS, DO ALL BONUS ASSIGNMENTS, AND YOU'LL DO GREAT. ASK ALL THE ?'S YOU WANT-HE WANTS YOU TO LEARN. GREAT G
This is one of his more easier and relaxing class, but it is stll HARD. I love his BONUS marks, so try hard at every chance to get them. He LOVEs DOS so he covers a lot so if you don't like the command line then STUDY hard, but it prepares you for UNIX.

marks too hard for an introductory class, and he thinks we should no everything to quickely, dont take him for cisy, take another teacher
i really like his teaching style, he would give you good marks as long as you do the work! His tests are not hard, you'll just have to memerize the handouts he gave you, then you'll did OK. I only got a B- in his class for im not a studious person.

probably the hardest teacher i have had a d.c. his assignments are very very difficult for very little %. his exams are even harder however i did learn lots and will never take another cisy class
I've never met someone who talked faster. You can't pick up any information. Easy assignments, but hard tests.
Bad attitude, marks too hard, boring classes, talks too fast, and expects you to know too much for his tests. Take another teacher.

Takes easy concepts such as file mgmt & wp & turns into a nightmare. To get A you must memorize 100's of useless acronyms & cptr histories e.g. name of Bill Gates book.Hard to understand, arrogant.eg writeprotects exam disks & you fail midterm
boring...+_+
One of the best instructors that Douglas ever has. I wish Dr. Van Dobosch can do just half as good as Mr. Yu.
his tests are all useless, i think we wishes to fail people. one of the worst teachers you can have. only has a BCIT diploma, very strict about minor mistakes.his classes are so boring, upn til now, i've never heard anyone saying good things about him
No Comments
I've never seen a computer teacher before that was so adverse to using a computer. Instead of showing students how it was done he'd just write instructions on an overhead, most times these instructions rarley worked if followed.

Very good teacher,but tough!
tough teacher, too tough for a 1st year course! Was nice to me but can be rude! just read from his notes therefore lectures were boring
Here is my two cents on the situation. WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! class is full of filler terminology. The only reason you fail is because of terminology. TESTS ARE EASY but ureasonably LOOONG! do not take this class.. but if you do , here is the nuce
Great Teacher. Expects alot, so slackers beware. Read and study the notes, attend the lectures and you will succeed. He does take the time if you ask for help. May seem a little intimidating, but he is very helpful
Terrible! Yu is a nice guy, but he's seriously out to get the students. Small quizes were nearly impossible to get good marks. He took tiny examples out of the textbook and made them 2 marks. Very hard exams as well, assignments are easy, but that's it. He's got small-man syndrome for sure!
Wierd guy, tests are hard, but he puts like 15-30 bonus marks that are usually super easy. His assignments are ridiculously hard and incredibly unclear and confusing, and he seems to think your stupid if you don't get it. He docks big marks for little things like a missing date.
nice guy. but def shouldnt teach this course. teaches off of an overhead. assignemnts are confusing tests are unnecessarily hard. not a good experience.
If you fail any of his classes, it's your fault, not his. You're there to learn, and sometimes you have to make an effort to succeed. If you sit at the back of the lab surfing the web during lectures, you'll get the mark you deserve, but if you do your part, which isn't much to ask, you'll succeed.
hard teacher, hard tests but easy work

A very organized instructor. Knows what he's talking about. He's ready to help if you ask for it. He also expects alot from his students. You're there to learn, not to goof off. You soze you lose. Pay attention, try hard on the assignments, and STUDY for the tests, and you'll get an easy A.
a hardworking and very helpful teacher
clear but a hard maker, always give hard tests, even small quizs~

ok i cannot stress this enough. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS, he will trick u on test and assingments. he will not repeat himself in class, and is just a wierd person. He have me a Zero on a test for filling in the blank instead of circling the answer, this does not help me learn!!!
DON't take his class, he is such a bad instructor and always over-confident!! he won't help u on assignment!! always give u tests which don't have enough time to finish!!! once again~DON"T TAKE HIS CLASS!
THIS class...in one sentence.....IT IS Soooo hard and so not helpful;atleast the prof is not helpful..he only know how to say...i"i already give u enough information, just do it...follow instruction...blah blah blah blah...
One of the greatest prof that I have ever had at Douglas. You cannot find anyone better than Ray.
Worst Teacher Ever(is he even a teacher?), i heard that he only has diploma from BCIT. Do not take his class. He should be fired.
before i took this course i thought it would be easy. butthis teachers tests are very hard, and he doesnt seem to care whether or not you fail his class
worst prof ever... extremely hard and has a cold heart... actually TRIES to fail students with trick questions DURING the in-class timed computer exam. DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A PROF OR TEACHER... Out to get student! STAY CLEAR UNLESS U LIKE TO BE BELITTLED. Has a stamp that says REJECT, if you make a mistake on his instructions!
Not a good teacher, simply put, needs to work on his skills with students. Had a night course with him and he said we never had enough time, but rushed through each lecture. And Ray, perhaps in a computer course you should show how to do it on the computer.
Class average for Yu's 1110 class: 52%...midterm: 47%............Class average for other 1110 class: 80%...midterm average..85%. All i gotta say
geez, we dont need to know DOS anymore. get on with Unix already. makes the test hard for fun. easy class for me cuz i knew the material before hand. but the teaching was horrible.
Omg the worst instructor in Douglas college, he should not be the chair of the department.
Are Ray's classes the easiest? No, but they are the most worthwhile.

our class average a c minus..every other instructor a B...you do the math
Teaches 6 year old computer information, 2 much math.
i can't believe this guy is still teaching... DO NOT take his class unless you sleep with your computer textbooks and study them all summer long. This is not a good teacher for people who are trying to learn the basics. He is a GPA dropper. IF YOU TAKE HIS COURSE AFTER READING THIS THEN IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT WHEN YOU GET A****TY MARK.
this class is so hard. He makes it harder then it should be. The worst teacher i've ever had. To be worried about passing an introduction to computers class is crazy.
He is EXTREMELY STRICT WITH HIS MARKING. He gives no lee-way, talks like he's full of himself and will damage your gpa no matter how much you know about computers
No Comments
All I can say is: What a waste of time, effort & money!! Who puts hard math questions (ie. QUADRATIC EQUATIONS) in every COMPUTERS test?? He doesn't even teach math!! He goes through stupid how-to-use-a-mouse & how-to-copy-and-paste procedures in class but never go through content that's important to the content of his tests. Oh yea, he's BORING!
poor excuse for a college prof, he is not helpfull at all if you have a problem he will just make some comment about being stupid and not answer your question.
If you're not in CSIS, don't take him. If you're in CSIS and want to be IT support, I highly recommend him. Tests and exams are very practical that requires troubleshooting skills, necessary for IT. If you think you have what it takes for this career, take this course to see if it is so.
Worst teacher i've ever had. He can't speak or write proper english first of all, he talks too fast, and won't go over any material twice. if u ask a question he will make u feel like your an idiot. For a small man, he has a big attitude. Don't take his class, thats the best advice!!
Done my BA now and reflecting back ... on the WORST teacher I've EVER had. He's UNFAIR... offers NO ( i mean none ) help and isn't interested in facilitating learning. Just an all-around jerk. Short-man syndrome here people. AVOID!!! WARNING

Very nice prof. Easy marker and assignments and tests were so easy that you don't even have to study too much! I got an A!!!
He is hard!! He is very nice but he is really hard to get a A from. If you got a B you must've study hard, and you are from the IT world. If you got an A, let me know and I will worship you. If you want an easy A (what this class should be), avoid him at all cost.
He is the worst prof that I have ever had. Assumes that you know things that you don't know. He's tests are from chapters that are not in the outline. He makes it almost impossible to pass the class
was a nice guy and the material was basic and easy and the test material was often repeated and word for word from the notes, if anyone found him difficult, then they must not be very bright....
Hilarious but thats about it! Hes extreamly stricked, VERY hard marker and if you fall behind your finsihed. If your looking for a career in IT its a good test for yourself but if you just need the class STAY AWAY!
Thought i had a different prof until he swapped himself in a few days before the start of school. By that that it was way too late. Not very helpful, his answer to every question is "its in the textbook". Expects way too much from his students. Unless you can spend alot of time on his courses I don't suggest you take a course with him.
i think raymonds goal for his students, is to make them all think he is the toughest prof at douglas. you will often hear him say "even other profs in my dept can do my tests". He is aweful. Likes to be difficult.
Very strict, but really entertaining. Pumps up how hard he is, but I got an A in his class which he said couldn't be done, I didn't even study that hard. Just study his notes and PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS, he will walk you through basically everything that will be done in the tests, just be very methodical and FOLLOW HIS DIRECTIONS.
Good guy but slightly odd, kinda has sort man syndrome. He goes out of his way to make the tests very challenging. I was frustrated because his tests are 50% memorization of abbreviations. Less about learning actual concepts and more about just memorization of definitions and abbreviations. Generally a good prof who cares about his students.
Worst class ever. He tries to make the quizzes and tests as hard as possible. If you are not going into the computer field, do not take this class. It will hurt your GPA. He is unhelpful to students and puts math questions in each quiz. His class averages are below 50%. Should not be allowed to teach. This is coming from an A student. Beware.
Great guy. If you slack off and don't attend class you won't do well. He shows you how to do his assignments during class. His notes are perfect, never needed to read my text book. I failed all the quizes and still got a B, take advantage of the bonus questions on assignment and use the study guide for the midterm/test!I would take him again.
Has a completely incorrect knowledge of computing, to the point of giving blatantly wrong information to students, such as advising us to run 2 antivirus softwares or that a CPU's L2 cache is located on the motherboard. Should not be teaching a class at all. Teaches useless and out of date information that is of no use to even CSIS students.
WORST TEACHER EVER. sat as his computer and read the notes off the screen.. didn't explain anything and refuses to give extra help.
He is an fantastic instructor. If you pay attention and listen to him, you will pass this class with flying colors. If you facebook and watch sports during class you will fail hard, and you deserve it. He doesn't ask for anything but your attention and attendance. And who knows you might actually learn something if you pay attention.
Worst prof I have ever had he told us right before the mid term his average was below a fail because us students think we know everything and we really do not hands down worst prof
Worst prof ever. His tests are extremely hard and he is useless.
Old fashion method of teaching. Don't bother going to see him for help he'll say something along the line of "We went through it in the class, u didn't listen?". Class average is extremely low. Basic computer | intro to computer isn't hard. If you want to learn something, find another teacher. Otherwise it will be torture for you. Gluck
Raymond expects his students to know how to use all the hands on features. Oppose to teaching some of the more difficult concepts he choses to go over basic stuff such as how to bold words which i learnt in kindergarden. Do not take his class unless you intend to fail miserably. He also is very monotoned and speaks with his back to you.
Raymond is a great teacher! Just have to pay attention in class and review his notes he puts onto the network drive. It is a very thorough list and he follows it quite well! Quizzes are not too hard as long as you review the acronyms and learn the definitions! It's up to you how good you are! Hands on teaching is great! He is fantastic!
the worst teacher in douglas college
i've never had experience like this.
Just one word: HORRIBLE. The worst teacher I have ever had in school ever.
first time commenting in rate my pro. because he is worst teacher I ever had. do not take his class. I regret so much that i took his class. awful teacher
most fantastic class ever. Especially if you love to fail miserably. u will get the pleasure of doing long, confusing asingments, with guidelines that will make you want to rip ur hair out. And when u ask for help, u get the pleasure of being refered to the outline. not to mention the outstanding class avg of 30%. Take it and u will regret it 100%
Horrible! As a mature student who has vast computer knowledge I assumed (wrongly) that this class wouldn't be an issue. This prof is confusing, has a problem understanding your questions, is extremely condescending and rude to students, doesn't allow you to ask questions unless you expect to have him say "Duh" you know this. Don't take his class!
First time commenting on this. Please do not take his class. He is useless worst teacher i ever had.
Pay attention in class. He is tough and very challenging. Know your stuff or you can easily fail his class.
this was an intro course basically to ms office. I have no idea how a majority of the class failed, oh wait i do.. horrible teaching. take it with another prof. this guy just reads pp. his tests are off the pp but the info is so hard to find cause its like 50 pages long and he tests u on stuff he knows you wont know like he wants you to fail. bad
Great Professor, he test the material on the PowerPoint. If you pay attention and take notes, surely you will pass his course with flying colours. One of the easiest professors I have come across.
don't take his class, unless you can just memorize every word and acronym in the textbook. He has the hardest tests and quizzes, very picky with the assignments. did not enjoy this class
Mr. Yu is the most straightforward teacher I have ever had. He will tell you exactly what you must and mustn't do in order to receive a perfect grade in his course. There are many people who complain about receiving poor marks, but really you only have yourself to blame if you can't follow instructions. He also gives lots of bonus/attendance marks
If u like classes where expectations are clearly laid out for you, then take this class. He actually posts study guides for his quizzes (which are actually the same as the real quiz) and many of his exam questions can be found online on quizlet and are word for word
I received the grade I did because I barely showed up to class. The test and midterms are straight out of the textbook. There are group assignments (about five) they take some time but they are easy. Takes this class, if you actually put minimal effort in (unlike me) you will get an easy A!
He's a nice professor when he isn't lecturing. He will not tolerate people talking in class and will throw you out or have you removed. He does not allow people to come in late until the break. He is very clear about assignments and marks them according to what he has given in the assignments outline. Very friendly and approachable after lecture.
Mr. Yu is very straightforward with assignments and quizzes. For assignments, he gives clear details on how to complete them. And for quizzes he gives out practice ones which are basically similar to the actual quizzes. In his class it is easy to do well in the beginning but expect your grades to drop 10-15% after the midterm and final.
Once you get to know Ray he is a good guy. Go up to him after class and have a chat with him about anything and get in his good books. He is still strict and wont grade you differently but he will help you a lot more.
He leaves the notes on the board quickly and then erases it right away to make room for new notes. You need to be a quick listener and writer to survive this class.
For who skin White, it is a good choice, he love chatting with you even buy you a coffee for free. However, if you are yellow or black, sorry! he will kick you out of the classroom when you are chatting with your labor out loud. His lecture is just Skipping PPT, Like pop quizzes.
HE IS AMAZING. THE BEST TEACHER EVER. SO CLEAR. IF YOU NEED HELP HE'S ALWAYS WILLING TO. TRY YOUR HARDEST. FUNNY. HELPFUL. VERY CLOSE WITH STUDENTS. HE QUIZZES ARE EASY. HIS TEST ARE HARD BUT YOU HAVE TO STUDY. HE'S EASY GOING. BUT STRICT WITH THIS INSTRUCTIONS. HE LAYS DOWN EVERYTHING FOR ANY ASSIGNMENTS AND IS VERY CLEAR. HE'S AMAZING!
Raymond's courses are great if you know what to expect. Studying relies heavily on memorization, and lectures are nothing too special. However, he understands the material is very dry and outside most peoples field of interest, so he provides opportunities for extra credit to help you out. He's a great person and easy to talk to. Would take again.
Ray was a great prof. He's very detailed oriented on the assignments, but he's upfront and fair about it. Tons of bonus marks to be had; on every assignment and he give "pop quizes" that are entirely for bonus marks! Tests are extremely easy and straight forward. He posts all his notes so you won't need to buy the book. 10/10 would take class again
very good professor
Ray is the easiest prof to take for 2200, easy A+, just show up. Memorize all of the answers to his practice quizzes to 100% all the tests he gives. Gives bonus marks for attendance and pop quizzes but they all start at the beginning of class so don't be late. All assignments are done in groups, but are super simple.
Raymond is awesome. He's a very nice guy and very approachable. I don't understand the bad reviews because he's a very easy teacher. Most of the class is getting an A with minimal effort. The work is unbearably easy. He provides surprise quizzes but they're bonus marks. He gives bonus marks very generously. I would take his class again!
Thank you raymond for the amazing semester. Raymond is very straight forward professor. He will tell you the rules, and you should obey them. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD please, if raymond gives you practice quizes USE THEM. You want to get a good grade? Use practice quiz and you will. Also, every assignment is done in groups... so choose wise
He is one of the best Prof. in Douglas College. He gives group project and presentation. He gives practice quizzes which is really helpful. He is very kind and funny. You should go with him if you want to get grade A. Juts little bit need to study that's it.
I am extremely skilled in web development and I couldn't pass his class because 1) he is using theory instead of actual demonstrations 2) he is using outdated HTML standards and course materials. 3) all his tests are theory based multiple choice and theres no tests on coding. 4)3/4 of the class is failing
You would have to be a retard to fail this class. He LITERALLY gives the possible test questions with answers to them. You can memorize the questions and ace the tests or get above 70% if you half assed studied. And the tests are multiple choice/fill in the blanks... There are a few questions not in the practice tests but still easy 80+
Proffesor Raymond gives easy marks but he don't really care if you understand the material. Better learn by yourself.
He sometime has bit sense of humor but his lecture is boring. He speaks too fast that he swallow words. his test I think mostly are memorization based such as fill the blank or multiple choice. TOUGH MARKER. JUST PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HE SAID, then you'll pass.
He is an ok teacher. You won't learn anything from this course, but you will probably get a good grade. He gives you the answer to every test. So if you want to learn something about this subject, go somewhere else
Study Resources easy to find. Wants his student to know what's up in the field presently.
He is a nice guy but honestly spent money on a textbook and didn't use it at all until the final to "study". His course is good if you have previous knowledge with Excel and can easily catch up. The class itself should be very easy but I felt he made it harder than it should've been
The attendance is not mandatory, but then on the middle of the term he decides to give extra bonus for students that show up in one particular day. The course outline said one thing and the instructor said another (like exams percentage and bonus assignments and how you should deliver the papers). He spends the whole class reading his own slides.
He was an interesting prof. Definitely very clear about what he expects from assignments and from the class. He gives pop quizzes on random subjects almost every class. Had quizzes/tests that were based on every lecture so make sure you go. Assignments took time and make sure you follow every direction he gives or you lose marks. Gave a bonuses
CHOOSE ANOTHER PROF!! This guy is giving us 50 mins to answer 80 questions on the final :// ++ he makes things complicated than it shoul be. Don't ask questions hel'll just say "I just did it" or "it's pretty straightforward" yikes
Don't take this prof. He's rude. His final exam expected us to finish 80 questions (including fill in blanks, multiple choice and t/f) within 50 mins and u cant skip questions or go back. When asked to increase the time limit, he said we needed to get help if we have learning disabilities. Deleted all course material 2 days before the final.
The course seems easy but the way he teaches just sucks. Teaches about windows 7 for like 5 weeks. It could be in the course content but at least teach windows 10..? He deleted the materials we needed 2 days before the finals which is mean af. When you ask questions he would always get annoyed and be rude about it. I recommend choosing another prof
Raymond is such a rude and dismissive person. Says he's been teaching for 3 decades but probably 3 too long. Even when he's wrong about emailing and delivering information on Blackboard, he will say it's your problem and to learn to use the platform. Hates to be wrong and does not listen. Very nerve-wracking and difficult prof. I do not recommend
The key is textbook, you learn from text, you pass. You learn yourself from the sources outside (even it's right), your answers are not taken. He is a crumpy one, uncomfortable and difficult with student's question and can not give the specific answer.
Raymond is clear with what he wants, there's a list of things that he wants in a assignment. His lectures are horrible, he is very rude, narcissistic, loud, and annoying. He will never admit any fault or confusion that was 100% his fault. He deletes all notes from the blackboard before a exam and there isn't enough time during the exam.
I really enjoyed his classes. Hes silly and caring. The bonus marks from quizzes are exciting to get since not a lot of college professors do that. Pay attention, show up early, do not slack off, listen to him and youll get a high mark. Effort pays off.
Having Raymond for the excel class was very interesting. It help me a lot in how the idea of excel work. I would recommend him as the excel professer.
He is rude and tough grader. Too many works in class, as there are 3 group assignments, 4 quizzes, 1 mid term, 1 exam and 1 individual presentation. You can get a pass if you follow well with his instructions. Really not recommend...
Raymond is not clear with what he wants, there's a list of things that he wants in a assignment. He's not ready for lectures and extremely confused when he is teaching, rude, loud, and annoying.
Would you go for an instructor that doesn't teach you valuable lessons yet will give good marks or hard marker yet will teach you practical lessons? He may be strict with his instructions but you will learn a lot from this guy.
Knowledgeable but isn't always willing to answer students' questions. Plus, he is rude sometimes.
DONT TAKE THIS PROF 6\29 students are passing, told our class to withdraw. class average is 43% ofc profs the problem not students, i work with excel on a daily basis for work yet i am still failing his class and withdrew mid semester. He docked 10 marks for 2 spelling errors. he's rude and stuck up, surprised Douglas hasn't gotten rid of him yet.
DOWNLOAD ALL THE MATERIAL (SLIDES), HE WILL DELETE IT BEFORE THE EXAM
Ray made it very clear from the first class how he teaches and what he expects. While he is instructing the use of Excel he is also trying to show his students that high school is over and it's time to act like an adult. Show up on time, pay attention to detail, follow instructions and you'll be fine.
His assignments has a lot of unnecessary requirements, it is as if the assignments are not a test of mastery of excel, but a test of formatting, which is comical. If only I and a few others got poor grades, I admit I didn't study hard enough, but he suggested that half the people WITHDRAW, which I don't think is normal.
DONT TAKE HIS CLASS
His instruction is strict. I saw some student felt attacked, but they didn't follow instruction in the first place. We are grown-up, following instruction is a simple thing to do in college. There were four quizzes and lots of assignments, but they were not that difficult. Actually DB assignment was helpful. CSIS student should take this course.
One of the best lecturers I have met in my whole education path. Yeah, he is strict, asks to follow instructions, has many assignments, quizzes, etc. But he is the only one to teach u how to prepare yourself for the next step. He is so punctual it's easy & interesting to learn from him if you follow him. Definitely recommend him for this subject.
Overall average... He used his own watch to determine if you were late, but clearly, the college clock shows otherwise. Won't listen to your explanation. The good thing about him is that he gives out bonus points. It seems he also cares about the student's future.
He is clear about what he says. If you follow what he exactly says, easy to score. If not no excuses. He is bad but not bad the way someone thinks it is. He has his own criteria for marking and giving marks. He rewards the effort when proven. Gives bonus assignments and marks to have higher marks.
Too difficult in grading assignments, he deducted my scores on very minor mistakes. Sometimes just ignored and didn't answer students' questions, was very rude when I asked easy questions.
Overall not a great experience for me to be his student.
I don't understand how Douglas College can employ a professor like this. I've genuinely lost respect for this institution by attending his class. Extremely rude and unprofessional. He does not answer questions and treats you as if you are in high school. Only comes to class for a paycheque and does not care about what he teaches.
He is your typical asian teacher from Asia. Strict and cares about ur school life. BUT all he's quizzes and tests are hard. Literally, there's questions on the quizzes that are not even in the lecture slide that he did, BUT GUESS WHAT. He will just reply "Read the Book, The questions are in the book". I don't blame him for being like that but holy
his quizzes and tests are brutal, questions was not discussed and not on the Lecture Slides. Questions were hidden, for example a question asking you to list 2 things but those 2 things are not in the lecture slides, are not highlighted in the book. I needed to use a search function to find the question. Dodge him if you can.
In my opinion, he is a great teacher even though lots of projects, asgms through the course. If you want to get a high mark, you definitely can achieve it by following his rules. Don't worry :))
Such an amazing teacher :))
Don't take him. Don't go to him for a query he literally won't answer because "you should have listened the first time". Don't expect an A. Always in a bad mood, gives toughest quizzes, you will regret, YOU WILL REGRET.
Never take this teacher unless you want to fail. All I can say. So much time limits for the quizzes. The assignments he marks so hard and doesn't explain why it's wrong. Sometimes he shows us the marks and says we should drop the course or don't focus on it anymore.
I don't do these often, but Raymond is by far the worst professor at Douglas. He goes through material very quick and get's angry if we can't keep up. Instructions are often unclear. Do NOT take this professor. It's misery. Hope Douglas fires him.
Professor Raymond's teaching is ineffective. He reads directly from the textbook, offering little explanation. His rude and dismissive attitude creates a hostile environment, discouraging questions. The focus on memorization over understanding makes the course frustrating and unproductive. Significant changes are needed.
The professor is a great and clearly cares about his students. He has multiple rules and is strict with them, but they are easy to follow as long as you carefully read the instructions. The course itself heavily relies on memorization of the textbook, so studying for Raymond's quizzes can be tough. The quizzes/exams themselves are not too hard.
Raymond is a tough prof yes, but it isn't difficult to get a good grade. Just pay attention in lecture take notes on what he says because it WILL be on the midterm. Follow every instruction on his assigments and double check and you will be fine. He responds to emails pretty quick so thats great. Overall I had a good expiernce.
Avoid this professor if you can. The class is a real struggle, with unclear instructions and harsh grading. However, Unstuck study proved to be a lifesaver for preparing.
Deducted my scores on unbelievable criteria, sometimes very rude, taking his course really demotivated my study motivation.
