Excellent Professor who is demanding, but not rigid. Grades fairly, and motivates you to make an A. I learned a lot of practical business information and thought the oral presentation helped build confidence, and all the projects were useful.

A fair grader. Relates his business experience to material. A mid term and final along with lots of projects make for a challenging course. A group project that makes up almost 38% of your grade will require you to search out committed and serious teammates. Start looking for them early!

Mr. Marquez will bluff in the beginning by making the course appear hard and loaded with work, but he just wants to cut class size. Projects are easy, but attend class; entertaining guy. You will have to do a public speaking project but this is business...you're going to have to do it eventually.

Great class! It helped that I already knew a lot about Microsoft Office. His lectures are highly entertaining, plus the tests are straight out of the lecture notes so go to every class and *pay attention* because the textbook is useless. I wish he taught 3100!

Such a cool guy, really funny and keeps your attention if u have him in the morning. Very easy tests, just 2. Everything else is assignments, i liked them all. First one was the toughest. Group project at the end of semester where you have to speak in front of class. i thought it was fun :) i got an A!

Professor Marquez has to be one of the best teachers I've ever had a KSU. He is funny and makes this class fly by. He knows what he's talking about. In this class you are constantly doing something, but then again this also gives you more grades. He gives extra credit, and takes attendance randomly. I LOVED HIM! You'd be lucky to take him!

Professor Marquez keeps his class engaged. He has a great sense of humor and is willing to work with you to ensure you get the most out of the class. He is very professional in his demeanor but is not afraid to show his personal side from time to time.

Fun guy, makes lectures engaging & interesting. Has lots of experience in business so listen to him! Tests are online & you can use book, notes and computer. Projects aren't hard, pay attention to your grammar and spelling! I was dreading the group paper & presentation but it wasn't bad at all, gave lots of time in class to work on group project.

Super easy. Nice guy, easy teacher. My only problem is that this class is pretty much useless. I learned nothing about word, excel, or powerpoint that I didn't already know. Waste of time, but KSU is making a killing off of it.

Great Prof!! He worked for IBM for 25 years, you will learn a lot. Only two test online open book, notes and internet! Group project that makes up 35 % of the grade. He cut the oral presentation out becuase we ran out of time, just had to do voiceovers. Take him it won't get any easier!!

Great professor. Easier group project than other bism 2100s, but its all lumped into last month which gave time constraints so be careful of who you group with. tests open book/note/internet

Nice guy.Besides the fact that I had him at 8 a.m, the class was ok.I stopped coming for a while because he sent us all the slides.Tests are open EVERYTHING so they are not too hard.Assignments were a breeze but be sure to pick a good group cuz group assignments are a big part of your total grade.I would take him again.Easy A/B!!

I got an A on ALL assignments AND tests. There is one excel project that's a little lengthy and does seem a bit intimidating at first, but got an A on it and I love excel now.All tests are online open book/note/whatever. You should buy the book only for tests because they come straight from it. GREAT TEACHER! Very nice. Take him take him take HIM

Excellent Professor! Introduced and discussed assignments in detail. Very patient when answering questions about assignments. He let us pick our own teams. He reffered to the text book but we did not have to read it for class. It is an excellent reference book and will come in handy when you are working on your formal report.

BISM 2100 is a very easy class in general but he makes it even easier. Good teacher though and explains how stuff can be used in the real world. Very willing to help and seems to want all his students to make an A. I would definitely take a class with him again

Professor Marquez was pretty easy and entertaining. Class was randomly mandatory, but it wasn't a bad class to have to go to. You can use the computers in class and choose to pay attention or not. If you give any effort whatsoever it's an easy B. I messed up on the midterm, so I got a B, but an A is very attainable. Take him if u can!

Great Teacher! I got all A's on assignments. If you go to class you should get an A or B! At first he comes off mean...but he's actually a great guy! He's the best BISM prof. Don't buy book! Listen to lectures...everything he says is on his midterm and final. Pick a good group at beginning! GO TO CLASS :)

Awesome Professor...come to class and you will do fine. Test questions come from lectures. The book is not mandatory, but is a good reference book to have.

I was very fearful of this class; however, Professor Marquez madethat fear disappear. He is very willing to answer any questions, easy test if you come to class. One group project. Make sure all persons are willing to not only do their part,but that they all meet visually prior to the final submission of the group project. Take Him!

He is very helpful but I cant decide if he wants his class to be super difficult or super easy. We had a bit of a dry spell after the mid term and then he assigned a 30 page group project along with the final but eh its do able as long as he grades easily considering the small time frame we had. I would recommend him. Get a good group!

TAKE HIM!!! He is an amazing professor and very helpful. I actually learned a lot taking his classes. You do not need the book if you come to class. IF you have a problem going to class do not take him you wont pass. Assignments are fair and grading is as well. Group project at the end is a lot of work so pick a good group!

Mr. Marquez is a very clear and organized Professor. His lectures are interesting and very helpful for the students. All of the activites in the class are hands on and useful. I would reccomend other students take his class, as well. You do have to read his instructions very closely, in order to do well in the class. He is allright.

He is awesome. This class was easy and informative. This is stuff you will actually use in life. Best class at KSU hands down.

I took his class over the summer with two other classes and got an A. I enjoyed his class and learned some useful skills I can see myself using in the business world. He provides real life applications of what he's teaching. This class was not hard to sit through and he dismissed class early a good amount of times. I would reccomend him to anybody!

This class is boring and pointless. However, he makes it easy so I do recommend taking him since all business majors have to take it. There are only 2 tests and several small projects. The 2nd half of the class is group-based so make sure you get with reliable people! He also loves to talk (about himself mostly), so beware cause it gets annoying.

I enjoyed him a lot. Yes the class is boring, but he's funny which makes up for it. textbook not required at all so don't bother buying it. he lectures off powerpoints and posts them that's all you need to study. great professor!

He's entertaining. You should already know Excel and Word before taking this class. He gives 2-3 projects that take some time to do, but are pretty easy if you know Excel and Word. Also, you'll form teams and have to build a website, so make sure you grab a team member who knows how to do this. Do not get textbook.

Very straight-forward and business like. He is very knowledgeable after a successful career. We didn't use a book, the midterm and final were from the powerpoints and lectures. There is a group project at the end, but it will be fine if you partner with good people. I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

He was a great teacher, I was not really interested in the material but he made it fun. He tells a lot of jokes abd plays music at the beginning of every class. The group projects are cool as long as you don't have lazy group members!

Professor M, Was an excellent teacher. He made the class very interesting with all the projects we had to do. It was great learning about software on the back end.

Interesting teacher. It was nice to have someone who worked in the corporate world and is now teaching. Only 2 major projects which can be a little time consuming, but they are useful projects. Don't buy the book.

Great Professor! Attendance is not mandatory but he gives a lot of explanations and helpful directions in class. Midterm and a final but he makes a study guide. Also a big group project which is pretty easy. Overall, I would recommend Professor Marquez.

great teacher!..strict on grading..so just DO what he ask. takes off points for misspelling and does not give extra credit. Great business guy, i would definitely take him again..ALSO make sure you get to know people in his class, it will come in handy for the excel project.

Nice guy, interesting class. His lectures are long and get boring at times. I wish he would keep his lectures concise as much as he preaches to his class to be in out work we turn in. Other than that I believe this is an easy A

Professor Marquez is a great professor. His lectures are thorough even if boring at times. He tries to inject some humor into his lectures to keep it interesting and relates information to his life for examples, which is helpful. Only downfall is his group project, which is an absolute chore because of scheduling.

Marquez prepares students for the real-world. Nice, funny guy. Warning: 1st project is HARD! If you're good with excel/formulas you'll be fine but I was in tears & almost dropped. 2nd half of the semester is spent on a HUGE group project. Choose WISELY! I enjoyed group work & learned A LOT! Midterm & final are easy. Got an A in this class.

Marquez is a good teacher. There are a few big projects and and easy midterm and final. He gives you info about class and preparation for life in general. Projects will take some time, and group project is a big one with a presentation. He is a fair grader, just go to class and youll do fine. Pretty easy A

Prof. Marquez is a fantastic teacher. This is the second class I have had him for. He will bend over backward to help you, but only if you are willing to put forth some effort. He can get a little distracted with his stories, but if you pay attention you will realize that the stories are relevant to what we are discussing. He's one of my favorites

Decent teacher. Projects are easy if you pay attention to what he wants and what he goes over in class. Not the best when it comes to help, he'll usually tell you to use your resources to find some help. I would take him again.

BEST Professor at KSU hands down. I hate 8am classes, but he's worth taking. He makes the class as simple as possible and funny. Great if you need an easy class. As long as you fix any grammatical errors in your writing and show up to class occassionally you will get at least a B. Put in a little more effort and an A is SO possible. Take HIM!!!!!

This professor is very easy. You should come to class the first half of the semester because he takes the roll (not for a grade, but if you ask for extra credit or for him to bump you up a point, he will look at your attendance), but the second half of the semester is based on your teams that you will be in, and they will hold you accountable-TAKE!

Easy A! Just go to class and listen to his powerpoints. Only 6 quizzes, 2 exams and a final. All you have to do is study the ppt slides. The only issue I had is his favortism toward guys. When a guy would ask a obvious question he would jump to amswer it, but when a lady asked, he would not give an answer and just say "ask around."

Took Marquez for first IS class. Much of the same experience. You will know what to do to get the grade that you want, you just have to follow through. Has an extra credit opportunity, use it. Study the PPTs you will be fine.

After reading the comments, I was very worried about taking his class but I didn't have an option. Yes he can be tough but when he knows your name and sees that you regularly attend class, you have nothing to worry about. I have learned so much through his assignments and lectures. They are pretty straight forward and so are the exams. TAKE HIM.

Prof. can be tough but only to prepare you for the real world. If you regularly attend class, you have nothing to worry about because you'll hear through instructions & hints on lectures that aren't on slides. All his assignments are beneficial to the real world, and pretty easy(just put some time into it). 6 projects, 2 exams, and final. TAKE HIM

Cool guy, whoever says he is rude has no sense of humor then. All his assignments were different and interesting, I very much enjoyed his class. Make sure you pay attention and take notes, though, easy A. Tests can be difficult unless you study.

Assigments are straight forward and he gives you plenty time to complete each one. group project was easy it could be knocked out in 5 hours collaborative tbh. He's pretty funny as well. Professor Marquez was awesome. Two tests and a final. All three are online in class. He makes you work for your grade but it's not strenuous work. If you put forth the effort you should get a B or higher.

He can be a bit nit picky on assignments, but he does it to prepare you for the nit pickiness of the business world. In the sense, he is a bit unorthodox. He's a great professor with easy tests. In class but online and open note (70% of the questions are on the ppts). People who say he is rude are just overly sensitive.

He likes to act tough, but he doesnt make his class do stuff that is that hard. although he is kind of a tough grader and grades down for alot of stuff.

He tries to teach you how the business world works, and that can come off as a good or bad thing to people. There were 3 tests, 2 were open note. The assignments were kinda annoying and there is a huge group project at the end. Attendance wasn't mandatory but he did take attendance for grading reasons. I never had a real issue with the guy though.

He prepares you for the business world. He's helpful, but also a picky grader. He counts a lot off for spelling and formatting, but he also suggests to use spell check and the writing center. Follow the rubric, do what he asks, take notes which help for the tests, and show up to class, gets you a B. Putting in the time and effort gets you an A.

He is great!! His class was straight forward and he was always willing to help. Excel project is hard, but will help you in the real world. Trust me (I learned this from internship experience) He prepares you for the real world like with excel skills and clear presentation style.

GO TO CLASS! he gives 3 pop quizzes and drops your lowest. A lot of the questions come from his lectures that aren't on his slides. Midterm was easy (open note). HTML wasn't that hard. Excel assignment was pretty difficult. The other assignments weren't too difficult. He is super funny and keeps class interesting, but you have to work hard.

Prof. Marquez is a solid choice for anyone taking IS. He explains his expectations during syllabus week, and you either listen or don't. Excel project takes a lot of time but he gives you the material well in advance, most of the people who scored poorly waited until the last minute to start. 3 pop quizzes, usually on fridays, and he drops one.

A lot of people on here are critical about Professor Raymundo. They are half right and half wrong. He is a funny guy tells you what you need to know. The material is not difficult to learn, just check the powerpoints. He is HOWEVER a pretty strict grader and lets you know he is. He has high expectations for you but it is nothing that felt unfair.

Honestly everyone that gives him a bad rating probably just wants an easy A because professor Marquez is a very good teacher. If you just follow his rubric, ask for help, and not procrastinate you should definitely get an A

Ray does not mess around, he's a very serious guy. He has some great stories though, ask him about personal space in Panama. Also, spell check EVERYTHING like twice.

He connects the subject matter to how things really are in the corporate world. This is what I appreciate the most about him. He is very detail-oriented so make sure to proofread multiple times anything you submit.

Amazing professor. If you are skilled with Excel and other business tools you can do everything last minute and get an A. Otherwise, you will have to put in some effort but it is very doable. Very funny and kind. People say he is a tough grader but really he is realistic. He will prepare you for a future in the business world. Take him if you can.

His class isnt hard at all! You just have to put time aside for all his assignments to make a good grade on it. He is a tough grader so for all projects especially the excel project attend all lectures and actually pay attention. Other than that one of the smoothest and relaxed classes you will sit in.

He is a solid choice! I do not know why he got such bad reviews because he honestly is very easy going and makes is easy to get an A. The excel project was a bit tedious but nothing extremely difficult. Few mini assignments and quizzes but nothing too bad! The group project is also pretty easy. I 100% recommend!

Although, he can be a bit strict, he is really understanding. He grades hard on projects but if you follow the rubric, & pay attention to examples in class, you will succeed. I failed first project, did well on everything else & got an A. Never used the textbook. Do the extra credit. Check quiz grade bc he wont fix it unless you tell him.

Solid professor, you'll have a midterm, final, and a few projects in this class. His lectures help grasp a good understanding of the projects. Super easy class, half the time i dont even pay attention cause the tests are open note and everything can be found in his powerpoints. He is a tough grader, though, so be sure to do your best on the few assignments he does give you. Very funny man, there is not a class period where he doesn't make the class laugh.

He lectures everything you need to know so don't buy the book. He takes attendance as a way to see who cares (not for a grade). He is a hard grader on assignments just follow the rubric. He is super funny and is a good professor. I had him for IS2200 as well and he was the easiest A I ever got.

I suggest taking Professor Marquez. There are two test, three projects, and extra credit. The tests are open note and exactly like the PowerPoints (EASY A). The three projects are on simple systems like excel, word, and power point. The first project is the most difficult of the class, the rest of the semester is easy.

To cut to the chase, Professor Marquez is very brutal. He grades harshly, but sometimes that's what's needed to prepare. As a not-so-great student, I did fine. All tests, midterms, and finals are open notes. (Not many notes either, easy.) It's just the projects you need to worry about. Most of the projects take a LONG time and are graded harshly.

I think he's a very good teacher, he explains the subject very well. He has few projects which he grades reasonably, but you cannot slack on them. He gives two extra credit that help a lot. His 2 exams are open book which should get you As on them. If you do your work, you will have a solid A.

Raymundo is not the most likable person ever, i get that. But his IS3200 was MUCH easier than his 2200. Point criteria: { Pop quizzes (5x25 (drops one)) = 100 | Case analysis (4x50) = 200 | Group Project: Oral = 50, Written = 150 | for a total of 650} 585 is A. Harsh grader and the pop quizzes count for attendance. So you have to be there for that.

very easy course. all quizzes were open note in class and test was super easy. he takes attendance and pays attention to who does things on a timely basis. he does not give slack to late assignments so make sure you turn everything in the right way. textbook was used for small papers

I took him online and enjoyed his class. He was very funny and would bring in visual aids. Funny professor but not an "easy A". Long exams, you need to know Excel, but very passable with some effort.

I don't get why prof has a bad rep. His 3100 class is one of the easiest I've taken. There are only 3 simple projects and 1 group presentation, plus tons of extra credit. If you show up everyday, he boosts your grade a lot. My friend went from a B- to an A just for attendance. He's extremely chill, and has some good stories. I never had any issues.
