Her teaching skills are still in progress, so many times you get homework problems that were never taught in class. She is not clear in her lessons, and many times you just feel like she doesn't know what she is talking about. Other then that her exams are fairly easy if you study the material yourself.
She is one of the best math teachers i have ever had at highline. She is really helpful. Her work alongs are very clear and helpful when you do your homework. She takes time to answer homework questions and flexible in the tests. She doesn't care how stupid your question is still answers. She is always early to class and super organized.:):)
Razmehr is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had, she loves teaching and cares about her students and their success in her class. Her lectures are thorough, straightforward and organized, no suprises on quizzes/exams. Her worksheets are SO helpful! Math is my worst subject, she made it easy to learn and fun.
Razmehr is an awesome teacher! She is excited to be teaching, always takes time to make sure the class understands a concept and makes lots of use of group work (so we can work thru problems together). I hadn't had math since high school & she cured me of my phobia!
Razmehr's lectures were simple, easy, and to the point. The tests were fair and notes were easy to understand. I would highly recommend her to anyone! And if I can, I will definitely take another math class with her. She's so awesome!
She is very helpful. I really like her way of explaining things. Also, she has a ood sence of humor and you would probably not fall asleep in class:)
Razmehr is a fantastic instructor. She's clear with what we're learning, what we're expected to know, gives us notes so we have consistency and are sure to be taught everything, and will take time to answer any questions. If you show up actually put effort into the class, you'll do well. Attendance IS important! Highly recommended instructor.
She is an excellent instructor with a broad knowledge of mathematics and surprising depth in providing real world examples and explaining underlying mechanics. She provides useful course notes and is always willing to explain and go over any problems a student is having. If you do the in class work and homework the tests should be no problem.
made everything clear. very helpful. walks you step by step
Some teachers need to not be so hot while teaching. Fardads class was mostly straight forward, but you must study the concepts at hand as to not get bad grades when you forget your units. Dont try to procrastinate on HW as you'll be busting to complete it on time to recieve good credit. Its straight forward otherwise :)
have question, see her during her office hours, very helpful and explain in a simple way.
Best math instructor ever! Arguably the best teacher of all time. Really works with the students and helps a lot, great schedule as far as time spent on certain topics, good use of homework, really helps prepare for those exams.
One of the best teachers i ever had! 5he was clear, fun, consistent, and most importantly, always there when i needed her.5he really wants everyone to do well in class and she is very nice. 5 i learned a lot and had a great time. take her if you can.
indeed fardad is one of the best math teachers I have ever seen she is really good one
Amazing teacher. Super helpful and will work with you on just about anything. She made a 4 easy to get in this class! Learned a lot and would deff recommend her. If you show up to class every day and do the work you will ace it.
Hard, but she is helpful and a good teacher always knows what shes talking about, alwayssss!!! But definitely very difficult. Not an easy A but achievable.
she's a good teacher, she make minor spelling errors in class but it's funny. she's very helpful. the only bad thing about the class is the homework, there's always a lot!
She is amazing teacher. She is very funny and very helpful.
Excellent instructor. I highly recommend Ms Fardad for any math class. She is very helpful and explains things in a clear, concise way. She always takes time to answer questions. I never felt like she was rushing to get through a section. I would gladly take any math class from her in the future.
She really enjoys teaching. She is very clear on what she wants and is always willing to help out her fellow students. I recommend her HIGHLY!!!
Goes too far when explaining the easy things, and not far enough when explaining the difficult things. She is not very good at getting to the point, but is always willing to help extra outside of class.
I had her for Math180 and Math181 and she is very rude. Students presented in class and she made everyone feel embarrassed and humiliated. She is supposed to be teaching us how to teach and she does not do a good job of that at all. Unless you really have to take her, I do not recommend her at all, she does not have the qualities of a good teacher.
This is the math teacher that caused me to fall in love with math. The classes i took, math 180 and math 181, were only difficult if you didn't apply yourself or didn't show up to class. She loves what she teaches and is one of the best teachers at high line. If you apply yourself and practice at home, you will succeed.
I love her but hated her class. She seems to care a lot about the students and wants us to ask questions but it seems like everyone is a little lost.IF YOU'RE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH MATH 91 don't take her class, its hard and sometimes she isnt 100 percent clear. Can be rude and sarcastic. Worried that she'd make fun of me if I'd ask a stupid question
Razmehr is an AMAZING instructor. She really cares about her students and the subject she teaches. Most important: she is clear, straight-forward and makes math easy! Anyone with anything bad to say about her probably got a bad grade (and it's probably because they didn't do their homework!) If you have to take math at Highline, take it with her!
She is an incredible teacher! She is definitely my favorite professor right now! She's clear about everything and she loves answering questions! You can tell she cares about the students and their understanding of the material. I'll be taking her MATH&142 class! She's also very friendly and enthusiastic, I don't regret having her!
She was awful. So rude. Embarrasses anyone who has a question which is not how a math class should be! I thought she was awesome at first but then I wasn't understanding the material and when I asked questions she'd say "What, did you just come out of kindergarten?" and never answer my question. Unless you can teach yourself, I do NOT recommend.
A lot of homework that actually helps you learn the material. Very nice and thorough. She makes sure everyone knows the material before moving on. Her exams are based on what she teaches which is always good. Very lenient with due dates for homework. Also very funny and sarcastic at times. Overall, a very effective instructor.
One of the best instructors at HCC! I really enjoyed her class, if I didn't understand something she will explain to you even 3 times so you get it. She really cared about the students, she even gave us tips when you are get job offer telling us her own story. I wish I can take more classes with her.
Awesome teacher! really knows her stuff.
Math used to be one of my strongest suits but after this class, I don't know what to think. Her grading was harsh, you loose point for not attending class and she ended up speeding through the last few weeks before finals.
She's very rude and tends to point people out. It's hard even going to class because of how uncomfortable she makes it being there. There's been a few times when we had group work and she told me to do my work even though I was. It's happened on many occasions. Attendance is mandatory even if you're out very sick you won't get points.
Professor Fardad really knows her math stuff! She's very helpful! I really enjoyed her class! Study hard, do your hw & quizzes and show up to class and you'll do great!
Great Professor! She is straight to the point. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! or you will not pass this class or any of her classes. She is very helpful when asked, but this is on you as the student. She won't come seeking you out if you are having trouble. DON'T MISS CLASS! unless you feel like being light years behind everyone else is a good thing.
LOVE this teacher. She is so clear about everything. She WANTS you to ask questions. Sometimes she will just wait until someone asks her a question if she see people are confused. She is willing to redo a problem multiple times if you ask her. The best teacher I have had at Highline thus far. Even if you aren't good at math, TAKE HER!
Great teacher, extremely motivated and inspiring regarding the field of mathematics. Very gregarious and easy to talk to.
She's a great teacher! I personally really like her work-alongs and clear lecture notes. They make it easier to go back and see how you got to an answer. If there's one thing I could say, it would be that she assigned a lot of homework to be due on holidays and long weekends, which affected the commitments I had with my family on those days.
Razmehr is an AWESOME teacher! I LOVE her! She is one of the best instructor at Highline. I had her for Math 142, 152, and 153 and I really enjoyed all of her classes. She is very helpful and explain things in a clear way. She cares about students and their understanding of materials. I highly recommend her for any math class.
Razmehr is the best teacher I have ever had--absolutely no exaggeration there. She made me LOVE math when I had before hated it. She's is extremely willing to help. She wants to know you personally so that she can customize her help to you and make you succeed.
She was a good teacher. She has amazing workalongs that are very helpful when preparing for tests. She seems like an easy teacher, but is a very tough grader. It is possible to get a 4.0 if you work hard. Also do the extra credit on the homework, it really adds up in the end.
She is super helpful. You can make progress and comprehend business calculus in her class for sure. She is always willing to help you. She will give many extra credits to improve your grade. 4.0 is feasible for her class but you need to put much effort. Strongly recommend her class.
Razmehr is an excellent teacher. She's super funny and relatable, she feels like a friend more than a teacher (in a good way). She has a great way of teaching so everyone understands and she never makes you feel bad for asking questions. Take her class! No required textbook, but you do have to pay $90 for access to a website for homework.
This was an easy class for being a college level math course. I was worried because math is not my strong point at all, but she was a good teacher. Only a total of 2 tests, and 3 quizzes. The final is optional, and homework is all online. If you ask for help, she will give it to you. I recommend this teacher to anyone who has a hard time w/ math.
She is a really really good teacher, if math is not your strong suit choose her! We've had 2 test ,3 quizzes, and a cumulative midterm. Our final was optional if you had a grade you were happy with. All test and quizzes are based solely on her work-alongs and group work so there are no surprise questions! Show up and do the work and you will pass!
This class was a hard but bearable class. She is a great professor that's good at explaining and making sure everyone knows the material before moving on. There's definitely a lot of room to ask questions. She is really strict on attendance. Tests are hard but if you study up and do ur online hw, you'll be fine.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!! One of the best teacher I've had. She explains math in a way you can understand. I would take her class again. Take her class! u wont regret
How could she be the best professor? If you want knowledge, never take class with her. Every sentence she speaks makes you puzzle. You will forget what you know by listening her way of teaching.
Shes a great teacher! She has handouts for every new part of every section. She is very well organized and always goes through problems step by step. She tries to prep you for the next class so she will show you the correct way to work a problem. She really cares about your success. Definitely would take her again through calc.
Best teacher ever. Easy money all day every day. Exams aren't too bad, handouts very organized. Would definitely take again for sure.
Looking for a good grade, take her. Offers a lot of extra credit and she explains things well. She splits everything up into a lot of small tests so you don't have to remember as much stuff on tests and she drops your lowest test score, just another way she tries to help your grade. The amount of effort you put in will reflect in your grade.
If you want to learn, take Razmehr. Her class is pretty hard, but well-organized and very doable if you do the work, study hard, and make sure you understand everything. Don't slack off because it gets harder toward the end of the quarter. All in all, would definitely recommend. She doesn't answer questions well, but her lectures are great.
I don't know what the previous review was talking about because she barely gives out extra credit. Only time is 5% bonus on hw if done before 24hr of due date, ?'s on tests, and attending workshops. Razmehr is really nice and organized, but her tests/quizzes aren't easy. Most of the time, it's difficult ?'s that we don't focus in class or from hw.
Razmehr was an amazing math teacher. She explained every topic in a thorough way, and always made sure every student knew 100% what she was talking about. On top of this, she was just an enjoyable person to be around. She always has a smile on her face and will remember your name, even if you don't say a word in her class.
I took her for 142 and at first i didnt really like her because she was a tough grader compared to my previous professors but as time went by i got used to her teaching style and i decided to take her again for 151. She really cares for her students and is a professor i do recommend, she is tough at first but if you actually want to learn take her.
I had Razmehr last quarter and this quarter, and she is so worth taking. One of the highlights of my Highline experience. She definitely makes you work for your grade, but if you work hard, you'll get the grade you deserve. She's caring and fair. She isn't great at answering questions if you really don't get it, but overall a gem of a teacher.
Easy class if you even just do the homework. Anything you needed help with she has no problems helping with (slowing down from the normal class pace). If you have problems and don't ask questions that may have been a problem.
They say "You won't realise what you have until you lose it." This is a real Mathematician; if you want to learn math take her. All the teachers I took after this class were nothing compared to her. I use to complain about her for being very tough but she is a real gem. Highline is so lucky to have her.
She teaches clearly, however I think there are easier approaches to certain topics, but it works either way. She takes the time to answer homework questions (if there are any) and questions from lectures. There are group works and homework due 3 days on webassign after the lesson is finished. With effort, this class is pretty easy.
Razmehr Fardad is a pretty great math instructor. Great at explaining the various topics covered, and provides you with an outline of the day to write on (as notes). She is very down to earth. If she offers extra credit, take it! Heavily graded on tests/exams Lots of homework Work with other students if you get a chance. (Choose wisely!)
Razmehr is awesome!! Very thorough with the material and is more than willing to go back and make sure everybody understands if there are questions. I have never been a math person but this the first math course that I have ever earned an A in and I very much attribute it to her teaching style.
Honest Rating!!! Great teacher, but tests and grading are hard. She is nice but until you see the test Plus you have to memorize the formulas, which are a pain. No extra credits work the Hw is the only thing that can bump up your grade by few %. She helps you outside of class and sometimes she organizes a class on weekends for extra help. GUD LUCK
She is a great teacher overall. Exams are little harder than expected. Outside class extra credit provided, which sometimes does not suit your schedule, does not help a lot. Grading is picky and memorizes the formulas!! Make sure you ask questions in class. Finals will hit you hard.
really nice and helpful teacher but her tests are really HARD for 142. Make sure to study!!!
I personally would never choose her as my teacher ever again. I say this because her test are extremely difficult and I did not feel like she prepared me or many others in my class to be successful. Many students in my class, inlcuding myself, did not get very good grades due to the final.
Great Professor! Truly recommend taking her class for Calc. Homework never really bumps up your grade but it's good practice. Workshops are always super helpful and I've learnt my lesson by not going to those.
Don't want to take class again.
She says her tests do not have a surprise but her tests are hard. Make sure you will study hard for tests and attend class on time because they matter a lot. She does give partial credit but she grades tough so you won't get much credit if you don't do the work right. Her teaching is okay but the tests bring your grade down.
I signed up for this class Fall quarter and ended up taking a W in it. The class works for some. She makes note sheets and solves them in front of the class. For me, I can't learn that way. I have to be the one to think through a problem to understand it. I did very poorly on the first test and she didn't give me much credit for my partial work.
My experience in her class did not fare well. The pretyped note sheets given every lecture did not prove effective toward my understanding / retention. Complicated homework would often take hours to complete as well. Homework was never brought up in class, and neither were quizzes. The tests were very difficult and graded harshly.
Fardad is a good teacher, but you really gotta study hard. Tests will be unexpectedly hard and she grades pretty harshly. Not too much extra credit opportunities except for doing the homework early and going to math events on campus. Homework load is reasonable but not always super relevant. Attendance is harsh. Pay attention in class and studyhard
If you want to learn, I recommend taking her. She is very nice and has great lectures. But, if you care about your grade, double think before taking her class. Test grades are heavy and her tests are quite difficult.
Attendance points means you can't miss any days of class. Homework is time consuming. Tests are newly written each time. She will take points off for any notation error. Her lectures are so good that none of this should be an issue. If you can't work this hard in calculus, you're in for a rude awakening with other STEM classes. Best math TEACHER.
Super sweet and teaching style is very effective for me because she goes over all the examples with you. Just study and look over the worksheets she gives, do Webassign, remember your graphs and practice, practice, and practice. Class and exams are hard, but you'll be fine if you do all your work (and HW early gets you extra credit). Go to class!
great teacher that cares about students. make sure you attend her office hours for any problems. and study the group work and the work-along sheets really well. she might drop one exam if you guys did 4-5 exams if its needed. make sure you do the workalongs and understand each problem there nd can do similar once.
I've had Razmehr since Precalc 1 and she's honestly the best. I took another teacher for Calc 1 in the summer and it made me appreciate her so much more. You get extra credit when you do homework a day early. A lot of people complain that her test are hard but you just need study for it. Grades on attendance but is good if you have low test scores.
I came into Calc. 2 devastated about by Calc. 1 performance, but even though I worked hard for it, I want to credit Mrs. Razmehr for helping me believe that I can do Math again. She's straightforward in her teaching, so understanding, and I'm not lying when I say that her office hours are always memorable. Take her, work hard, and you'll PASS!!!!
Attendance points means you can't miss any class. Homework is time consuming. Tests are newly written each time. She will take points off for any notation error. Her lectures are so good that none of this should be an issue. If you can't work this hard in calculus, you're in for a rude awakening with other STEM classes. Best math TEACHER.
Such a wonderful teacher, I was going through the worst quarter I have ever taken and she helped me through it. She is very kind and understanding will do anything to help you learn and understand. Calculus for me, in general, was a difficult subject but she made it understandable for me. Her workalongs are amazing and I would definitely recommend.
Never take her, unless if you are nerd. Her exams are heavy and its big part of the grade. A lots of homework takes forever to finish it.
Quizzes and exams made up a majority of the grade. Lessons were monotonous and questions were poorly answered with late responses to emails. She skips a lot of steps and makes it more confusing. You'd be better off teaching yourself which is what most had to do anyway
Please skip her class. I took math 111 with her and that was one of my the worst class I ever had. I am saying that because of a lot homework, daily quizzes, test are too heavy and there is no extra credit as well.
Honestly never had this worse of a professor and I'm not just saying this bc I don't like putting in work. I've always been an A student and never had problems with professors but she just made my blood boil. Never responds to emails, changed how we submitted tests for every test so it was confusing. Paranoid about cheating to a high extent.
Lecture was great, everything made sense and she walked through problems with students. Content that came up in class also came up in homework and in tests/exams. One possible issue is her grading attendance, but otherwise she made Calculus I easy to adjust to. Feedback was helpful too and she provides extra credit for pointing out her mistakes.
She's pretty cool for the most part, and grades pretty leniently I would say. Still waiting for that pop quiz though.
Shes a nice person but her exams are just extremely difficult. I find that the study guides look nothing like to what she would put on the exams and they are just insanely difficult. Shes a good teacher but when it comes to exams it gets frustrating because shes an insanely tough grader. Literally more than 80% of the students fail the exams
Take her Calculus 1 class in person. She will mark you off if you are 10 minutes late. Lots of homework online. She graded things very harshly and be ready for a test every week. Tests are 35% of the total grade while the final is 25%. It is literally impossible to get a 4.0 in this class.
Easily the most difficult class I've taken at Highline. Textbook was a horrible resource, and not a lot of materials to help you prepare for tests. Not many things explained in layman's terms. Concepts barely covered until you go onto the next. Hard exams. Not very forgiving. Lots of homework. Would not recommend if not comfortable with math.
Razmehr is truly a wonderful teacher. Make sure to do all the optional homework and learn the unit circle quickly. If you turn in homework 24 hours before it's due you get 5% extra credit on each question and if you correct her during class you get extra credit so stay alert during class. Stay up to date and you'll be fine.
I would never recommend to anyone, she seems like a nice person but as a professor, you will be teaching yourself. It all consists on critical thinking, we never really got taught anything. We had around 15 minutes for lecture, while the rest of class time is working with groups on problems with no guidance but a yes or no if you're correct.
she was fine you just had to rely on group work too much to understand the content, she didn't reply to emails if you had questions for homework and even if she did, she replied too late. shes willing to review stuff if the class didn't know and encouraged to ask questions, gave extra credit for correcting her mistakes too
Average teacher. She teaches the class with a workalong packet for every unit and reads and solve problems from the packet for most of the class. Her tests are not impossible if you study and really grasp the concepts in class. However, the final was quite difficult. I learned a lot but definitely had to put in a lot of time outside of class
The professor is sweet and welcoming. But I can't say the same about the class. The homework's are a lot but it wont bring your grade up. The exams are horrible. We only took 2 exams and the final, together 60% of your grade. Calculators are only allowed on couple of questions. It's impossible to get a grade above 70% even if you try your hardest.
The professor has a specific system, but if you engage with it, the class can work well. Definitely use Unstuckstudy and the free textbook alongside the lectures to stay on top of the challenging exams.
Would not recommend to anyone. Expect to be teaching yourself all quarter. Felt when I asked questions she would answer as if I should have known the answer. Even went to a tutoring workshop and they were confused with the way she was teaching us. I honestly took her winter 2024 and still can't get how horrible this class was.
Razmehr's class isn't an easy A but it is fair. If you can adjust to the way her class works and spend a decent amount of time outside of class studying you'll pass. It isn't super hard but it isn't easy either. it requires a fair amount of effort which is doable as long as you have the urge to.
organized around three types of ungraded handouts: topic lectures, group work, and individual practice with a graded WebAssign component. We had tests every week on the same day, but there was class time to complete all work. Extra credit for early submission of WebAssign assignments and for pointing out mistakes in her work.Hard to reach on email
The way that each type of assignment is weighted is fair, and attendance and homework combined are almost half your grade. She's really approachable and will clarify anything if asked. Exams are very similar to work given out in class, so if you do the workalong and study it the material on the exam shouldn't be a surprise. Gives extra credit too.
She is an awesome teacher. I used to hate math because I had bad teacher in high school and I wasn't good at it but she made it seem like as long as you put in the effort you can pass
only bad thing was mandatory attendance
