I really enjoyed Professor McDermott. She made the class easier than it really is because she is obviously super experienced in accounting. Usually a weekly homework and Learnsmart. The tests are weighted pretty heavily, but they aren't too hard. If you just put a good amount of effort in and study over the homeworks and reviews, you're good.

I have loved having Reba as my professor for acct 2023. It is a tough class but as long as you put in the work you will do fine! Going to class will help you a lot since she does random attendance quizzes and gives a lot of useful information for the tests/homework. Very helpful outside of class and wants her students to do well, highly recommend!

Prof Mcdermott goes super fast through her lectures, but thankfully she posts the slides. There are two exams and then the final, along with pop quizzes as well. The tests aren't too bad as long as you study the homeworks. She also will give a practice test that's super helpful.

Her class is hard if you do not go. If you do go, you will do well in this class. The practice questions from class prepare you so well for the test. the practice test as well. She gives one extra credit assignment after the second test which helped a lot of peoples grades. Take Reba if you have to take this class, she is the best professor.

I HATE accounting. That being said, I actually enjoyed this class. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants them to do well. She provides a lot of extra material to study and posts slides. She has pop quizzes in class, but she gives 10 and drops 5 of them. She sets up the class so that one bad exam wont end your chances at an A.

When Prof. McDermott says at the beginning of the semester that you need to stay on top of homework, quizzes, and LearnSmart assignments, she's not kidding. I honestly feel very fortunate to have had her for accounting, because she knows her stuff, but you better pay attention and do what you can to get a good grade, because she does not round.

Professor McDermott truly cares about her students and is very experienced in her field. The course is challenging but she is willing to help and a very reasonable person. As long as you stay on top of the assignments and do the practice tests, you will do well. I do not like accounting but actually looked forward to going to her class.

Professor M is great. She's kind to students & shows passion for the subject. She shares stories of her professional life and how she's used things we are learning in her jobs, which motivates us to learn since we see a clear connection to the real world. Reba truly cares for her students and wants us to succeed. Great class if you put in effort.

Reba is my favorite teacher that I have had to date. She takes time to explain the concepts with her real life professional experience that makes the material more interesting and allows you to see its real importance. Attendance was not mandatory, but lectures were not posted and pop quizzes were given about once a week.

shes a great professor. she knows exactly what she is doing. she brings in guest lecturers to show how you can use an accounting degree in the real world. all around a great class the only downside is, that she moves fast, but shes always ready to answer your questions

You certainly have to show up to class and listen to the lectures which can be kinda long, so don't take her in the morning if possible, but she presents information in a way that makes sense. She cares about her students and offers lots of office hours for you. The grading scale is built in a way that makes it hard to fail if you put in the work.

Reba is a great professor for accounting two. Her tests are tough but you are able to drop one. She goes extremely fast during her lectures but will slow down if you ask her a question. If you have to take accounting two take Reba.

Reba is the best accounting professor at the University. For those who want to succeed in her class she provides ample amount of materials to study and is always available for questions. She genuinely cares about students' futures beyond just her course and lets you drop an exam and gives easy pop quizzes. 10/10 professor would highly recommend.

She's awesome. Her lectures are great. It does take a lot of work to learn the material, but she has available office hours and zooms before exams to answer questions. I'm really glad I took her class. She has guest speakers sometimes, and in class quizzes that have some really easy questions for points.

Reba is a very knowledgeable professor and you won't leave this class having not gained something. However, this is a very difficult course. She goes far too fast and the tests require ample studying. If you put in the proper effort to do the extra practice she provides, you will pass this class just fine. Just be prepared.

Dr. McDermott is an amazing professor. She gives pop quizzes for attendance, so don't skip class. Do the smartbooks and homework and you'll do fine. Study the topics she tells you do pay attention to and do the test reviews, and you'll do good on the tests. It's a somewhat difficult class, but if you stay on top of things then you'll be fine.

I really loved having Dr. McDermott as a professor. She really stuck to the grading scale and syllabus; however, everything is extremely clear. She's the reason I added accounting to my degree path. Great leadership withing the classroom and very professional. If I could take her again I would.

Although the class is hard Reba gives you very thing you need to succeed in this course. There are quizzes in class but she helps you. She also tells you what will be on the exam so you know how to study. She was a former CFO and is more than proficient in the accounting world. Her examples are perfect as well.

This professor knows what she is talking about and will really prepare you for the tests. Just show up to class and put work in to study for tests and you will be able to get an A. You get to drop a test. You get called out and kicked out of class if you are on your phone.

Reba is by far my favorite professor I've had. She is the reason I switched to an accounting major. She has a lot of real-world experience. She tells you exactly what to study for the exams. She does give pop quizzes for attendance and is strict about being off your phone. Definitely take ACCT 2023 with her.

My FAVORITE professor at the University. She cares about all of her students and wants them to succeed. If you know the study guide, you should make an A on all her tests. She prepares students well, and is always willing to meet with students. There is no reason to not pass this course. Definitely recommend taking Reba!

The best ACCT 2023 professor. She tells you exactly what's on the test and wants all of her students to succeed. She takes attendance by doing random pop quizzes every few classes, but she drops a couple homeworks, smartbooks, and quizzes, and even your lowest midterm grade so tons of opportunities to get a good grade. I heavily recommend Reba!

Struggled with the exams, she tells you EXACTLY what to expect! I promise you she does. She offers a lot of supplemental instructions and videos that help with the homework (USE THEM). She's competent and brings in guest speakers. I am simply bad at accounting.

Tough class, great teacher

Reba is fantastic. She is so cool and a great teacher. She has so much experience in the corporate financial world and likes to talk about it and relate it to class topics. She can definitely be pretty strict, and puts up with absolutely no BS. Her class isn't easy, but if you do what she says you'll be fine. Reba is awesome!

Reba pretty much runs accounting II so her teaching style is the best out of all the other professors. Just show up to class and take notes on the in-class problems. Study the supplemental reviews and study guides as well. Reba sends everything you could ever need through outlook.

I would 100% recommend taking Reba for Accounting 2, it is not an "easy" class but she is very knowledgeable of the topic, lectures well, and is clear with students what is on the tests and how to study for her test. The class has online homework and smart books, in class quizzes, and tests.

Professor McDermott is great for honors accounting 2. There are pop quizzes for attendance but 3 are dropped. material isn't too difficult if you do the homework. Tests are easy if you study what she tell you to. Easy A overall.

Professor McDermott is a must take for ACCT 2023, her lectures are easy to understand and she will help you if you don't understand a topic. There's homework (McGraw Hill) and a SmartBook for each chapter. There are 3 exams (lowest grade dropped), and a final test. For honors there is a paper and a group project also. Go to test review sessions!!!

Lectures were entertaining and fast paced. She cares about her students and wants students to succeed.

Gives pop quizzes in class. Attendance is for the most part mandatory. Gives reviews that are super helpful for the test. Only uses 2 out of the 3 test grades and the final is mandatory. Doesn't make all quiz grades count towards your grade. Also has extra credit opportunities. Take Reba! She was awesome!

Amazing professor, I wish I could take her again. She gives pop quizzes (fairly straightforward) but drops the lowest 3. 3 midterms 1 final, drops lowest midterm. Prepares you for the exams so well. Be respectful in lecture and you won't have a problem. 10/10 accounting professor.

Reba is a very hard professor, but she is amazing. I have failed this class, but retook it and put my time and effort into the class, studying and learning not just memorizing. I am not the best at accounting, but Reba's class was very well formatted and digestible with the content. It wasn't the easiest and I had to work for it, but truly the support thru visiting Reba's office hours was very helpful both for academic and professional advice. Highly recommend taking her honors course, you'll learn a great deal!

Okay, hear me out. Professor McDermott had challenging exams BUT she makes sure you are prepared for them as long as you show up to class, take notes, and go over the practice material. This is a harder class in general, so you need a good professor unless you want to do it all by yourself. Awesome professor option for accounting majors or minors.

She is strict but worth it. She will tell you exactly what to study for and how to study for it. She creates practices based on our needs and makes sure everyone is following as she lectures. However, she will kick you out if she sees your phone or even if you try to go to the bathroom. Overall, great at teaching. 100% recommend taking her.

Great professor, gives many resources to do well on exams if you actually study and pay attention in class. She is very strict absolutely no phones out she will kick you out if she sees you on it and will stop class if someone leaves the room. 3 exams and a final, get to drop one exam and a lot of mcgraw hill work.

Great professor, definitely take her. I took her for accounting one. Attendance not mandatory but you get extra points for every class you attend. Heavy emphasis on homework and smartbooks but they will save you grade. First test will come as a shock and you will likely fail it but then it is all uphill. She is clear on what we need to know.

Accounting 1 was pretty boring and hard for a lot of students but I thought Reba was really knowledgeable on the subject. She goes off on tangents about her career sometimes but overall lectures are pretty engaging and straightforward. She gave us a lot of resources and practice material so if you get bad grades its pretty much on you.

Reba is a great professor for all of accounting. Given that she is the department head for accounting I believe she has some of the best lectures. While attendance isn't mandatory a grade is taken for clickers, which are done together in class. 3 tests all weighted the same, one gets dropped at the end of the semester.

Attendance is part of your grade, textbook is online and is used it for homework/smart books, the course itself is hard and requires a lot of studying, Reba is very credible and did an amazing job at giving us as many resources as possible to help us succeed but she is very serious and strict about her time in class, dont skip, do your assignments!

I'm a freshman and Reba is by far the best and most qualified teacher I have ever had. She is also the strictest and least charismatic teacher I have had but I think it some how works. She does not allow phones or any talking in her classes though I think it helps everyone lock in.

Reba is extremely knowledgeable as she has had a career in the actual accounting field and still does. She is great and will not up your bs as she should. She also makes the test for the whole accounting 1 so she has more insight on the test.

She is a nice lady and all but she definitely is strict. I took a 5 week summer accounting class with her and it was rough. Not because of the way she instructs but the amount of work that is expected by you in such a short amount of time. She is in charge of making the exam questions and she doesn't make it easy. Super hard test questions

Reba is the head of the department. She still works in the industry and is able to provide real world examples in every class. Sit front row and write your questions down for the GA (Especially Test 2). ACCT is just confusing period but Reba simplifies it well! She writes the tests and she knows how to prepare you best!

Take Reba if you want to understand and pass accounting. My friends who aren't taking her are asking to sit in and listen to her lectures. She's top dog when it comes to accounting. I love her. She is respected and knows her stuff, super sarcastic and fun, her outfits are always professional and cool. Would take her again in a heartbeat.

Reba is a great accounting professor, one of which you can tell that she knows what she is talking about and has the professional experience to back it up. Her class is slightly personal learning focused through McGraw hill smart books. Other than that her lectures are very helpful and informative, and she explains complex subjects with ease.

I took Accounting Principles for my minor and I was extremely impressed by her. Can tell she cares about students' success, very knowledgeable about what she's talking about, and accessible outside of the context of class.

Reba is a phenomenal professor with professional insight. I don't plan to major in accounting, but I thoroughly enjoyed her teaching style (lecture heavy). She gives you all the information you need to be successful, but getting an A does require a good amount of studying and dedication. Take her!!!

There are a total of 6 tests including the final and concept exam. If you study the slides and go to class you will be fine. She comes off a bit edgy, but she really knows what she's talking about and cares about her students.
