GREAT TEACHER! if you take her at north campus you will go on lots of field trips. She is super nice and funny. She often says "Whoa baby!" Lol TAKE HER you will learn lots and get a good grade easily!

Wow...how liberal can a teacher be? Want to find out? Take Reba Parker. A class should be taught keeping all opinions in mind. This class was very one-sided. Not a hard teacher which is always good but it was horrible having to listen to someones opinion ALL the time.

Her class is super easy. She provides study guides for tests. Study the Study Guide and you are guaranteed at least a "B".

makes it very interesting, test are a little unclear , but if you do the study guide you will be fine, makes a 3 hour express class seem 50 minutes, you watch a lot of movies, and go on some field trips, no attendance policy and gives extra credit chances.

shes really a sweet prof. She's very helpful and for the most part very straightforward, and it seems easy however, the test are a little tricky! She's very lineant(sp) on grading and there is a 3 days attendance policy ! take her very nice!

One of the most patient people I have ever encountered. She entertains all questions and comments no matter how pointless, and does so with grace. The class is interesting and requires little effort as long as you go to class and pay attention to the study guides.

great lady who really does care. she will do whats needed to answer any of your questions. not a very hard class but still interesting (remember its an intro class though). background in religion and is very open to everything. class is easy but you might still wanna go. test are kind of tricky at times. i strongly recommend taking her.

She honestly cares about her students recieving a quality education. Definitely my best college professor in 3 years.

What a wonderful, caring, intelligent person. She teachers her students about the REAL sociological issues that matter in the world today, while giving other viewpoints and solutions on the topics. I really feel that I am a better member of society because of her. If you can take her classes, do it!

Reba is amazing! this class will get you involved in the community and teach you a lot about how we can improve the places around us. theres a lot of out of class work, so if you have a busy schedule, maybe put this class off, but definately take it, some easy web assignments, quizzes, easy tests, and fun projects, take her, no one else

Awesome lady! I never took 101 but 102 was such an great class. At the beginning of the year I was kind of irked with her because until Sept. 20th was over, ALL she did (not exaggerating) was talk about Peace One Day. Definitely need all 3 books for this class, study for tests but quizzes are ridiculously easy as is the final project.

Truly interested in what she teaches, and it comes out in her lecture. Combined a lot of visual elements, such as videos, movies, pictures, etc, that made the class interesting. We used the OAKS system, with quizzes that drew heavily (but directly) from the textbook.

Great teacher. Super easy. I almost never come to class and still have an A because everything is due online. When in class, we watch movies and do fun group projects. I strongly sugguest taking this class :))))

I went into Sociology open minded and quite willing to learn something new. Instead, I found myself being solicited for stereotypical questions such as "And how did that make you feel?" Reba Parker is a very nice lady and her intentions are well aimed, but with that said, she fails at teaching you anything new at all. Take the class for the A.

Best teacher I've ever had.

She is the nicest woman and wants her students to be interested and involved in not just the class but also the real world. The class is easy and a pleasure to sit through. A lot of room for class partcipation. Quizzes/tests are easy, online and open note. Questions are literally straight from the chapter vocab. It's a great intro into socy!

I had Reba for 101 with little interest in sociology and ended up taking 109 just because of her. She honestly just makes the class amazing. It is easy, and class is def not mandatory but i still always went. That's how great she makes it.

Soci of Peace - Reba is great and her class forces you to ponder the world in a different light. Lots of little assignments; dropbox, discussion boards, quizes weekly, 2 online tests & a big project but all designed to make you think & are interesting. Be aware need a 95% to get an A. Totally doable just don't miss any of the little assignments

Take her! She's an easy A. I wish all profs were like her. Class isn't mandatory, but I hated missing it because it was so chill. You have quizzes and discussion boards online each week, and then one or two group assignments. Not as bad as it sounds. She's super laid-back. Take her!!

Reba is a solid teacher who can drop some heavy knowledge when it comes time to. In class material is not what you're tested on though, weekly online quizzes based solely on reading. Take the class if you want to meet a real teacher who speaks real wisdom.

Not only is Reba's SOCY 101 class an easy A, it's also interesting. I enjoyed coming to her class everyday and hearing what she had to say. Aside from simple weekly, open book quizzes on OAKS and weekly Discussion Boards there isn't much that has to be done for this class. I definitely recommend taking Reba for any Sociology classes.

I took Reba's Sociology of Peace FYE, and while the class was easy and she is very nice, I cannot say that I enjoy sociology. It was really hard for me to actually go to this class as much as I should have because I was so not into it. She is very passionate and very sweet, but don't take it if you're not interested.

Ms. Reba is amazing too bad this is her last semester at Cofc. I took her Sociology of Peace and Restorative Justice classes and they were both unbelievable! Reba is so inspirational and she is there for you academically and emotionally.

I'd say that Reba is literally the best professor at the college. Not only is her class as easy as it possibly could be, but she's the sweetest, most genuine woman. She's so funny and inspirational. You have to be extremely stupid to not get an A. Definitely take her class if you can!

I took Reba's Sociology of Peace class. Reba Parker is such an amazing professor and all around amazing person. She is one of the most inspirational people I've ever met in my life. I took peace online and I enjoyed it. You MUST purchase the TopHat code and get the other book she lists. Average amount of work, but if you stay on track, it's easy. She is so nice and helpful. Only thing that isn't the best is that there is a group project, but again, not too hard. Would definitely take again.

I took her online class and it's an easy A if you put in the effort. She uses a system called TopHat and its an online textbook that makes you answer questions. I took the express course so it was a lot of reading in a short period of time, but it was really easy, just busy work. The final was pretty representative of readings.

I had her for my online class and I could not speak more highly of her. One of the most caring professors I have had. Only wish is that she taught face to face classes. There is a good bit of work, but its not hard if you keep up with it.

This is the best class I've ever taken in my life. The workload is light, all we do is one chapter a week and then an additional assignment that alternates each week. She's really understanding and her textbook is great. The subject itself is also super interesting and it's the only class on peace studies.

Dr. Parker is an amazing woman. But, this 106 level class had huge amounts of homework and readings that you could barely finish in a weeks time with large papers with topics that you can't understand without a lot of extra readings. If sociology is your major this class is great, but do not take it if you need to finish your gen eds. Won't reccomd

Professor Parker is a friendly woman, and she was always helpful when I had questions for her. The class subject is interesting, but the amount of busy work is exhausting. You have to search countless websites for information for homework assignments, and the tests are about the information from the websites. Easy A if you put in the work.

Almost feels like you don't have a professor in her class. You have to pay for Top Hat and buy a book. Top Hat assignments are 1-2 chapters due every Sunday night and you get quizzed on the other book about every 2 weeks. There's group zooms every 2 weeks where you discuss an assignment yall did but thats it. Easy class.

I highly recommend taking her Sociology of Peace class. You will learn such valuable things that will help you throughout your lifeWe had to pay for top hat which was a little pricey. Our work was fairly simple a top hat chapter a week with an occasional zoom meeting with group members to discuss some homework. She is such a sweet lady loved her!!

Prof Parker is passionate about peace, which makes her class enjoyable. You do have to watch all the videos and read them in detail in order to do well on the exams, which can be a lot. It is a great online class, doesn't require too much work, and is pretty interesting.

This is not an easy class. If you're a Senior and just trying to pick an easy elective DO NOT PICK THIS ONE. I spend like 7 hours a week on this class (usually I am speedy and can do asynch courses in 30 minutes max). It's interesting and the professor seems nice, but please recognize that this is a huge time comittment.

I loved this class, Professor Parker is kind, understanding, and passionate about sociology. I took this online and as long as you keep up with your work and attend the zoom meetings throughout the semester you will do well.
