SO far I liek her, very clear, notes and lectures are very well organized.
Very hard class, she doesn't help you at all, her tests are hard and she is a rude teacher.
She is a very good poli sci prof. She can clarify things if you go to office hours(like every other college professor, you ****). She also went out of her way to have reserve materials which is a plus for her tests.
Good Lord, she's awful. I thank God I never have to take another class with her.

She is a good teacher. She is opinionated and that is good for this type of course. Attended lecture, studied the night before tests, and wrote my paper the night before. I am a CS major and I got an A. The material is difficult, but her class is easy.
I don't know what these people's problem is. She is hard, but if you study you'll pass. She does a great job of explaining info. Tests are straight from lecture, so you don't have to read. Her bark is worse than her bite!

All you have to do is attend her class and write down her notes and study them before the tests (THEY ARE MULTIPLE CHOICE!!)and the class is easy.
She was a very good teacher. She has good examples and she keeps reserve tests in the library. Every question is asked, and there's no excuse for a bad grade. She does extra credit, and all you have to do is watch a movie. She is a fun/easy teacher.
Hard, hard, hard. This teacher is teaching at Harvard level or something. forget about the tests. pray for a D, i showed up every class, took all the notes, and even went to office hours, forget her.
Unwilling to help, and very abrupt and ****y. I went to every lecture and completed every assignment, while reading and studying. It was really difficult, and I got a C even after all that. (Incidentally, the only C I've ever received.)
her class been great she is a wonderful teacher all her notes are easy and the readings go with lecture so no real need to read just review notes and attend lecture and u have a guranteed "A"

Words of advice....DO NOT pick this teacher. She is funny as all hell but you have to work HARD in this class. She is NOT friendly....don't even think about asking her for help.

This class is pretty easy as long as you go everyday. just know your lecture notes really well for the test and the key terms she gives you in the study guide and you will be fine. you never have to read. her personality is a bit stuck up though...major power trip.

All of the grading is from tests and quizzes, if you are a bad test taker stay away from this class! I always read the text and studied my notes but their was still some stuff on the tests that I have never heard of.You have to take the class but you do not have to suffer with this terrible teacher!
Thinks she is teaching @ UC Davis or perhaps Harvard, not CSU chico. Tests are fairly hard, but she does offer extra credit. All the class is lectures, and there are quizes, but they are open note and easy. Tough class, but not horrible to take.

She is not very approachable and thinks teaches at Stanford level. She always thinks she is right. Her lecture notes are fairly easy to understand, but the test are a joke. Don't take political science with her.

Everyone on here is crazy. She came off tough the first day but shes very nice. She expects stuff form us but we are college students which is no suprise. Her lectures are good, midterm wasnt bad at all. I enjoy her as a teacher. I would recomend her. just go to class, take notes, you'll be fine! :)
She is soooooooooooo stuck up! god, it's annoying how she looks down on CSU, Chico students, even if they are smart. Her idea of an A- is 93%! what the hell is that? 93% should be an A! Just try to ignor her rude manner and suck it up, she's not that hard compared to some teachers

This teacher is way too hard for a General ed class, she is sarcastic and snooty. She is very smart and knows her subject, but if you dont then you are the dumbest person in the world. Not recommended

This lady is a ****. I think she is upset at the fact she didn't sleep with the right person to be hired to teach full time at UC Davis. She's a **** in class and even more of a **** in her office hours. She looks down on Chico students and treats them like 2nd class. I would never take this class again and hope no one else has to suffer.
This teacher is a **** and she even admits it to the classs. Her tests are tricky good luck trying to pass them. And the lectuters are the most boring thing ever. I wouldn't recomend this teacher she is horrible.

Also, she makes alot of info avalible on Web CT such as study guides... use them thats what they are there for. Easy if you keep up in lecture. barely had to read to do some online quizes. just get a couple buddies together to do the online quizes with and youre set. The boys seem to enjoy the way she dresses as well.
i think most of the people giving her bad ratings are just a bunch of babies. true, she isnt the most friendly or approachable professor, but she knows what shes talking about. her lectures are great and she gives a lot of extra info on webct. just go to all the lectures and you will be fine. not as bad of a class as i thought it was gonna be.
I thought she was a great teacher! I read her rating here and was intimidated but when I actually took the class, it wasn't very hard because she was very informative and detailed in her lectures! One of the best teaching I've encountered in college.

Quoting another person: "just go to all the lectures and you will be fine." NOT TRUE AT ALL! I think I missed 2 lectures the entire semester, but I only got a C- in the class. I am normally an A/B student, but this class was hard. She may be clear in her lectures, but I think she expects way too much durring test time.

HOLY CRAP! I cant believe that I got a C- in that class! Way too hard and she dresses really provacative for an older woman! If you want some hints just do good on the first constitution test and you will be fine the rest are pretty easy as long as you put at least 2 hours into it! Oh and she makes fun of students which makes class semi interesting
I suggest international students not to take this class. I think she does not make the course understandable for international students. As I experienced, her written assignemnt is very difficult and I think the assignment is more like Law paper.
I was very intimidated by her poor rating on this site when I first took her. But really she isnt bad at all. If you show up everyday and read most of what she tell u than you will get an easy B. I got A-!
Her tests are confusing--be ready for lots of a, b, c, a or b, or none of the above type questions. Make sure you read the book--she won't remind you about it but the info from the reading WILL be on the exams.
Lectures were very detailed, organized, and interesting . Homework/quizzes were pretty easy. Studyguides were good but her tests are hard! No matter how hard you study you dont get the grade you deserve. Not very fair when it comes to grading..
i learned a lot from this class, i thought it was really interesting. she spends a lot of time on the constitution at first. online quizes, hard in class tests, lots of extra credit options and very short skits lol
You will take tons of notes and listen to lecture after lecture, but you do learn something about our gov. that I am sure you didn't learn in high school. She has a passion for what she teaches which makes her class interesting. Take good notes, do your best on WebCT quizzes, do the extra credit and spend time studying and you are sure to pass.
I only wish I would have kept a tally sheet from the first day, counting how many times she used the phrase "rules of the game." Try it if the class doesn't entertain you (because it won't).

She looks like cruella de'ville. Her lectures are extremely boring, she wears short skirts and is too old to pull it off. Her tests are very hard, I studied so hard in that class and only managed to pull off a C+.
She is demeaning and completely unapproachable. You can tell that she thinks Chico States students are a joke. She is a VERY hard grader, very picky and very demanding....I don't think she knows that lower division courses should be taught at a different level than graduate school.....I am a very serious student, have a 3.9 GPA, haven't gotten a B

This is a class you HAVE to take. Do NOT TAKE IT FROM THIS TEACHER. This professor is the perfect example of a teacher to avoid. She is incredibly rude and disdainful towards students, she will do everything in her power to catch you in any error in order to fail you. This is an easy A class from any other professor on campus, just not her.

I wish I would've check RmP before I took this class to see all the bad comments. She was really difficult and wasn't helpful but then again we had a class of 200+. READ The books and you could do fine, I did****ty because I didn't read.
She isn't as bad as everyone makes her out to be. The tests aren't that hard as long as you skim the book and understand the lectures. She gives the students many extra credit opportunites and I would reccommend doing them! The only time that she gets pissed is when people are disrupting her lecture but she is honestly not that bad.
Her class on the whole isn't that hard but she has a very condescending attitude towards her students. I definitely felt talked-down to the entire semester. She's unavailable and unwilling to help a lot of the time. Her lecture style and constitution workbook are infantilizing. If you're a few years in don't take her it's highschool all over again.
A great professor! Got me really excited about the upcoming elections. Does a really good job of relating things to everyday life. Great professor. Exams are all on lecture so you dont need the book!
Class could be boring at times, but she is really into politics and gets you excited to watch them! test are not too bad i got by with just glancing over the book, just make sure you get all the notes from class and her "study sheets" for test. She really is not as bad as everyone else on here makes her out to be!
She's really not mad at all. She explains everything really well, gives you a study sheet that tells you exactly whats going to be on the test and what was in the book because she figured you didnt read it. The tests remind me of tests I took in HIgh School and she gives alot of extra credit. Not bad at all.
She was a great teacher. Her tests were slightly difficult but completely relevant to lecture material. She explains things really well and she teaches a class about politics without any bias at all, which was nice. Highly recommend this professor.
Well first off know that if you come to class 90% of the time you will get an A. If you can't pass with a C you have a serious problem. The professor is knowledgeable, yet somewhat cold. Things are straight forward no room for discussion. Copy the notes word for word and you will pass. You do NOT need the book, $115 for a copy of the constitution.
attendance is not mandatory but it is necessary to have the notes(which are not posted online)to pass the class so as long as you get them you're good.she can seem mean but shes chill just make sure you study everything for the tests on the study guides-you do not need to read the chapters!dont buy the book!do all the extra credit.just takes effort

It's a really hard class because she is not reasonable with her grading. May seem nice but talking to her in class or one-on-one she makes you feel stupid and you deserve to fail her class. She WILL call you out and embarrass you if caught writing notes, whispering to other students, if you're on your cell phone, or playing games on your comp.
Class really isn't that bad, just don't show up to class tired (you will go to sleep). Notes are taken every day, and if you study and come to class you'll do ok.

Her class is very boring. She uses the overhead and refuses to use a computer. The notes are lengthy and are taken every single class lecture. She doesn't really go in depth with the information. The study guides do NOT help at all with the tests which are ridiculously hard.
Rebecca Britton is an extremely hard teacher. Her class is very boring. All you do is take notes on an overhead and she never mixes her lectures up. I think she wants her students to fail because she does not grade on a curve. She is not very helpful at all during her office hours. I would NOT recommend taking her as a teacher if you can help it.
Rebecca is a waste if you plan to learn political science. Every class consists of taking notes off of overheads. lecture notes dont help with tests at all and study guides often are not what is on the test. VERY UNFAIR teacher, plenty of extra credit opportunity but extra credit will not be applied to your grade without a min. 70%. RUN, DONT WALK
She is a horrible teacher, the worst I have ever had. I went to a study session and asked about a concept that was covered in lecture a few weeks ago. She told me that she will not go over material that was covered in lecture. She will not help you learn the material. I even got a tutor and that couldn?t even help me in this class.
I actually found this class easy. As long as you write the notes down in lecture (you don't even have to pay attention) and do the study guides, passing the tests are easy. and do the extra credit! The class might be boring, but you just have to go.

Good: 1 semester 40% of her class received A's, study guide given with all the questions on the 6 quizzes, drops lowest quiz, 5% EC, politically neutral lectures, GILF! Bad: Worst facelift ever, major egomaniac, low content lectures = boring. Summary: Go to class, fill out study guide, do EC and you will get an A. Dumb P&R majors rating her down.
If you are an upper divison political science major AVOID THIS WOMAN LIKE THE PLAGUE. The class structure is terrible and her "discussions" in class are not discussions at all, they are regurgitating information read from the previous night and little amount of re-usable knowledge. This was the biggest mistake i have made at chico thus far

Extremely boring and "unproffesional". She is very unclear about what she wants on assignments and grades very hard considering her vagueness. She fell asleep during a class presentation even after half an hour before that, she had slammed someone's laptop closed because they weren't paying attention to the presentation.
I was very excited to take this class-But, I was wrong. Class was unbelievably boring.All she does is lecture.Every class. All the time.No discussions, no debates, no activities.And she has no textbook, so her lectures and material, literally come out of no where. God help you if you miss class. She's making it all up as she goes, so you'll fail.
I really have no interest for politics but she makes it really simple. Good Lecture notes and she follows the text book! She gives out Study Guides before each test and there are 6 test counting the final. Total of 5 paper topics and you only have to complete 2 of your choice. She can be an ass but just do what your suppose to do and you'll pass
After taken her POLS 155 class, she wasn't as bad as people were saying she was. I mean you definitely have to work for your grade, and I'm not saying it's an easy class. I'm just saying work hard, and you'll get a deserving grade. She's straight forward with her tests, I can't stress how important it is to DO THE STUDY GUIDES! ABSOLUTELY HELPFUl!
Professor Britton is very helpful and makes government interesting! You work hard for your grade but she is very clear about what she wants from you. Do the study guides for the quizzes, they help immensely!
I want to know where the text book and study guides everyone's mentioning are! Britton does not follow a set curriculum, isn't very straight forward on what she expects. I can honestly say I have no clue what my grade is and I'm a straight A student that LOVES Political Science (it's my major).
This class was pretty easy. All you have to do is take notes and you will be fine. There are 6 quiz's throughout the year.lowest one gets dropped. She puts up study guides that are the exact same questions as the ones on the test. Good class to take,and shes a good teacher.

First day of class she wants syllabus for extra credit. She also makes it clear that she does not enjoy teaching this class because it is required for students who dont care about the subject. This is the worst professor I have ever had. I was around the same age as her and was horrified to see the way she belittled her students, at one point it took everything in me not to get up and speak up for someone she was humiliating. I am a senior who has to take this as a requirement to graduate and have had to try to study more for this test than that of my engineering tests. Afraid to ask simple questions due to the fact that she's extremely rude about it and makes you seem like you don't know anything. Her quizzes are extremely hard, questions are very detailed DO NOT TAKE.
Her tests are ambiguously worded making them difficult. She is disrespectful and condescending when you ask questions or ask for clarification. Attendance is a must as her tests are 80% based on lectures. I would recommend her class if you ok with not speaking- just taking notes and getting your B. 6 quizzes and 2 papers.
This is by far the worst professor I have faced in my college career. I have never had much problem passing classes, but for this, I can't even hold a C- and am going to have to re take. the Quizzes are worded so weird and she's too much of a know it all. Do not take this class for POLS 155. Save yourself a retake.
Gives quizzes that are based a lot off of notes taken in class, and also on textbook material. She gives study guides but they don't really follow her quizzes. She's straight forward and will call you out for things like leaving lecture early. She's not as bad as people claim she is.
Britton is everything I hope to be as a person... She is super sassy and straightforward. There are 6 quizzes and they're hard AF. But theres no exams which is cool. Also only two papers. Just show up to class everyday and take notes and you'll be ok.
She gives great lectures, and her lectures are presented in a easy to follow and thorough. You have a book to read that is very easy to read and straight forward. If you do the study guides and read the chapters you will have no problem passing this class. No homework, only 2 paper assignments and a few quiz's. No Town Hall either. Shes great.

This class is not difficult at all. Dr. Britton assigns six quizzes and two short papers. Her quizzes are 95% lecture base and the rest from the book. She posts study guides a week before the quizzes and theyre almost identical. She's a great lecturer and explains the material clearly. Go to class, take notes, use the study guides and you'll pass
Britton was okay, it basically felt like I was taking high school political science again. She let us use notes on all of her quizzes which was for sure a life saver. Overall a pretty meh class. Pretty easy overall.
Everyday she passes out a sign in sheet for a class of over 100 people if you miss more than 2 classes she will drop you. She will lecture the whole class period. Her study guides will only really get you about a C on the quizes. To get a B or higher on th quizes you have to be in class every day. She is the rudiest teacher ive ever experinced.
Her tests are difficultly worded. You can know the content and still do bad on the exams due to her wording. No midterms or final, just 6 "quizzes." Drops lowest quiz grade which is nice, though. Also gives out study guides for the quizzes, but personally they didn't help me much. You definitely have to earn your grade. Takes attendance.

I was lucky this semester since her schedule was thrown off so we took 3 of the 6 quizzes online. Being open book was the only way my friend and I were able to pass with low to high B's. Even w/ the power of google and study guides.

Study guides help but not very much, the questions will be asked in whatever way she decides, which usually isn't in the notes or study guide. HW is basically a test with more hard study guides that barely help. 1 paper, lectures are tedious, don't take if you strive for a 4.0
Grade is all up to 4 hw assignments and 6 quizzes. Quizzes are hard. Her voice is annoying. Not willing to help. Her way or no other way. Tried my hardest still maybe will get a C-. At least gives 15 extra credit points HAHA
This course made me dread coming to class and I had no choice but to go since you have to sign in during each class period. The six quizzes are tough, 24 from the study guide and 6 from the book, a total of 30 questions each. She drops the lowest quiz score and gives four homework assignments. An essay is given and she grades tough.
If you skip class there is no chance of passing. Her lectures are hard and she will lecture till the last possible second of class. Her quizzes are hard and worded weirdly. I would not recommend her if you are someone that likes one on one interaction with professors. She is also a very hard grader.
Her quizzes (bulk of grade) aren't super hard but if you don't do the readings you won't do very well. She's kinda strict so don't expect her to be super caring/understanding but she is to an extent. I did one of the EC (the IR survey) but she wouldn't give me the points b/c of a computer error. She's a bit biased politically so be aware of that.
DO NOT TAKE HER! There are 6 quizzes 5 homework assignments and one paper. Sounds pretty chill right? FALSE. Quizzes are very difficult, she grades the paper extremely hard, doesn't respond to emails, and kicks you out of office hours. Her lectures are boring and confusing. You'll regret taking her I promise, please listen and choose someone else.
Dr. Britton is rated really harshly. As long as you attend all classes and take good notes, you will pass. It definitely requires studying and hard work, but not a bad class!
Terrible class, She gives extra credit but as soon as you get 15 pts she cuts you off. After every Quiz (which is basically a test) she keeps lecturing which gets annoying. EVERY QUIZ each answer has about 6 options theres (A,B,C, A&C, none of the above, all of the above) which makes answering the question extremely hard even if you studied. 0/10
She's fine. She's nothing special, but if you do whats expected of you, and don't distract during lecture you won't have any problem with her. The lectures are fairly boring, but very clear.
Very hard quizzes designed to trick you, boring and repetitive lectures, extreme liberal bias, rude to students with opinions that differ from hers, pretty bad temper. Would not recommend at all.
As long as you show up and don't use any electronics, talk, or fall asleep you'll be fine in there. When it comes to tests, it is important to know everything on the study guide, though expect the class to collectively do bad sometimes. Luckily, the worst grade gets dropped. Lectures are pretty boring but you can get dropped if you don't go.
Talks down to students when being asked a question. Doesn't like to be asked questions when she's on her "stories" or in lectures. Will hint at students to leave if there is a disagreement between her and the student.
If you take this class READ THE TEXTBOOK. She has a study guide but it not very helpful, you have to really understand the content in order to pass.
Class is hard already i recommend not taking but if you need to not with this professor becayse she makes it harder
Wasn't too bad. Most of the grade was tests, with a few short writing assignments. The tests are all multiple-choice and a study guide is provided beforehand. Skimming the book will help reinforce the lecture.
Pretty difficult class. If you just need to pass POLS155 for a GE, I wouldn't recommend her, she just makes the class difficult for no reason. The quizzes are freaking insane. You can study and feel like you're comfortable, but the questions on the quiz will mess you up.
Extremely strict about how to turn in homework/the one essay you have to write. Visit her during office hours, she's much less intimidating one-on-one. Gets irritated easily during class. Quizzes are designed to trick you, study guide helps but not with everything. Take notes on what she's saying & not just her lecture slides to pass the quizzes.
I am not exaggerating when saying this is my least favorite class I have ever taken in all of my years of schooling. I cant imagine anyone liking this class unless you love quizzes created to trick you, teachers who make rude comments, ridiculous rules, and a class with nothing but lecture.
With all do respect,Miss Rebecca Britton is a knowledgeable professor but the way she is teaching is not ok for most of the student that we observed on our last summer class, a good professor will make the class interesting and make sure the students understand the materials but she is totally running in opposite direction and make it harder.
Very quiz heavy, all points are by quizzes and homework assignments (points come from the average of your 2 scores from the quiz relating to your homework reading). Lowest homework and quiz score are dropped, fair enough. 50 points possible for full attendance, which seems I guess reasonable. Some EC. I never once used the book, but still passed :)
She's curt. Don't get me wrong. I don't want an overly-kind teacher. I'm just asking for a touch of human warmth, which she severely lacks. She's knowledgeable and articulate. Her anti-laptop and anti-cellphone use policy is undesirable. We're mature college students... I'd rather be allowed to use electronics and deal w/the consequences on my own.
Her quizzes are nonsense really. They are not designed to assess knowledge, they are designed to be difficult in the worst ways. As a student working toward a teaching credential I am amazed that there are still professors who teach this way; talking at students not to them and tests that only really assess your test taking abilities.
This class was unnecessarily difficult. Although she seems very unquestionably knowledgeable, quizzes and homeworks were difficult. Both online homeworks and quizzes are made to trick rather than to check student knowledge. Had all As in my other classes except for this one. For a GE required class, strongly encourage to choose a different teacher.
This class was very unnecessarily difficult. Her quizzes and homework were built to trick you and as hard as you study, getting a good gate is very difficult. I was able to get all A's in my other classes except for this one. I felt very discouraged and like there was nothing I could do in order to get a good grade.
Rebecca will crack some jokes here and there during her lecture but is very strict regarding the use of technological products (no computers what so ever). Be prepared to take a lot of notes and pay attention to what she says. This is not my major but I have to take this class as ge, totally not worth it but oh well.

When I selected this class, I read through these reviews and thought it could not be that bad. It was actually worse. She designs quizzes to be confusing and are not made to test your knowledge in any way. This is troublesome because quizzes are most of your grade.

She is rude and doesnt like working with people. I wouldnt say shes a bad teacher but shes not very fun to learn from and doesnt make class interesting. I find myself falling asleep during ALL of the lectures and just wish she would bring more positivity to the classroom. she talks very negatively and is rude to her students.

Must attend class because she has a sign in sheet, she's nice when you're nice. DO NOT BRING OUT ANY TECHNOLOGY. She only lets you write in notebooks. No tests only quizzes, BASED ON LECTURE AND TEXTBOOK. MUST READ TEXTBOOK. I didn't read the textbook. That's the only reason I got a C+ and not higher. Passionate on the subject. Humorous sometimes.
If you are sick on the day of the quiz; throwing up, fever, no energy, you better suck it up. Because you will not be allowed to make it up. She drops that quiz, but personally I would have liked the chance to still take the quiz because I still might do poorly on other quizzes. Just a stupid policy to consider before signing up for this class.
Worst professor I've ever had. She is rude and ill-prepared for teaching. She informs you of homework assignments a few days before they are due (and they are not dated in the syllabus), and gives you study guides for quizzes the week of. Your entire grade is basically based on 6 quizzes, and I study, yet have never passed with higher than a 32/60.
Top 3 worst profs I've had at Chico State. The study guide is nothing like the quizzes & she words quiz questions in a way that tries to trick you rather than just testing your knowledge. I got all As in all my other classes this semester except this one. Honestly just absurd & way too difficult for a GE. At least the lowest quiz grade gets dropped
Save yourself a semester long headache and skip her as a professor. The lectures start out interesting but after a few weeks become redundant and a pain. She has a very strict attitude and often contradicts herself daily. 6 quizzes, 5 homework assignments, a 3 page paper. Read the book or fail the quizzes
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! I don't care if shes the last professor you can take for POLS155 with just wait till the next semester. She misses office hours. Makes her quizzes nearly impossible to pass. Her homework assignments are preposterous. This is a GE course, and it should increase your GPA, not reduce it.
Her study guides are nothing like the quizzes. Her questions are worded so hard to understand. Pay attention to every detail being asked in the homework. I'd suggest a different professor. Never failed a class in my life and now I am about to.
Rebecca actually gave great lectures, I learned a lot during her class and it was very easy to pay attention to what she was talking about. However, her tests came out of no where. I would study for hours and even do the study guides she provided and never got an A on one of her tests. Questions never correlate with lecture and are super hard.
DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. This class is absolutely ridiculous. This class is a GE requirement and is the hardest class in the world. The quizzes are set up to trick you, even if you know the material. She wants you to remember every single word that came out of her mouth during lecture in order to come class to passing a quiz.
She cared about her students and taught the material throughout distance learning. Study guides are not necessarily helpful but lectures were.
If you enjoy being talked down to as if you are a freshman, or if you really enjoy a person with an ego problem, than Professor Britton is for you. The class is fine but the amount of disrespect and the lack of humility given by Rebecca makes me regret taking any of her classes.
Literally save yourself right now. Take this as a sign and change that course right now. Whatever you do- do not take this professor. Super condescending, content unorganized, and genuinely the worst prof I've had at Chico. She acts as if this GE course is the only one you have in your schedule, as if it were an upper division course.
Rebecca took 8 weeks to grade our first assignment of the semester. She posts long boring lectures and in class all she does is ramble on and we barley have time to finish. She answers every question you have by saying you should already know the answer. The quizzes are easy if you do the study guide. But she words them super weird making it hard.
Must attend lectures that are long and boring. She rambled on about the same thing over and over going in a circle. Can do well on the quizzes if you watch the lectures but they are worded difficult and makes them hard to pass.
Condescending. If you ask a question she already answered you will be spoken to in a disappointed and irritated tone. Slow grader and bad feedback. It takes forever to receive your grade so there's no way to improve your work, and what you do receive is minimal feedback. Long lectures. She speaks slowly and over-explains basic ideas.
This teacher is straight up horrible. I have never in my educational years had a teacher this bad. This is the hardest class I have ever taken in college so far and I am a nursing major. There is absolutely no reason that a GE class should be this difficult EVER. I am pretty sure no one in this class received a 100% on any of the quizzes. Run!!
This course was difficult to navigate especially during the pandemic. Rebecca was not very understanding, did not answer students question very well, and had weekly quizzes that were meant to trick you even if you did all the readings and took good notes during lecture. Difficult class, with an even more difficult professor.
Nothing in the textbook, in lecture, or on study guide that will help you on the tests.
Tests and quizzes made to confuse you. Really need to pay attention to EVERYTHING she says in order to pass the tests. Study guides don't really help for what's really on the test it's very general. Kinda rude at times too
I took 331W writing course with Dr. Britton and it has been one of the more harder classes I have taken. She is a really tough grader and would want things specifically done a certain way, but do not fret, it's understandable. She will meet you one on one and make sure you pass Just prepare for a Final 20 page research essay and final presentation.
Takes forever to respond to your emails. Continues to upload lecture videos after class so we continue note taking at home + HW. When you ask a question or speak up in class, she makes you feel dumb or be littles you and your comment. Isn't easy to talk to.
She obviously knows her stuff. I actually found her lectures interesting sometimes and she can be funny. She was nice when I approached her with a question after class. But beware, she goes on tangents during questions. Her tests are pretty difficult if you don't pay attention. She does offer extra credit though.

Professor Britton is a wonderful teacher! She is funny yet very serious. I really appreciated her COVID-19 safety protocols. There are around 14 lecture assessments, 6 special topic quizzes, and three tests. I would definitely take her class again! She makes political science interesting and understandable.
Professor Britton was very difficult to learn from, especially since she would get off-topic and the lectures were extremely long. I would learn very few things from hours of lecture material. She was also passive-aggressive towards students and it wasn't a friendly learning environment. The tests are also impossible to prepare for.
The class structure is pretty basic each week you do 2 hws and a quiz. unfortunately, the quizzes are unpredictable. one week she will make them have common sense answers that seem almost stupid to be quizzed on. other weeks it will be material that was not mentioned in book or lectures. i either fail the quiz or get 100% so this is HER issue.

Worst professor I have by far. She is rude to students and never answers her emails. Your grade is based mainly off of exams, which were extremely difficult, and quizzes on the lectures we did in class, but the material from the lecture had nothing to do with what was on the quizzes.
Not a horrible professor. Lectures are long and sometimes interesting. Take all the notes you can and study hard for quizzes and exams. It was nice not to have a town hall.
This class only consists of lectures and quizzes. She lectures for the entire class and expects you to take impossibly detailed notes, a lot of the time the questions on the quizzes aren't mentioned in the lecture. She is extremely passive-aggressive towards students which makes you not want to ask questions because it feels like a constant battle.
This woman hates kids/teenagers and has no place working in a college or teaching anyone anything. She is knowledgeable but does not know how to properly address a class and is very rude to ppl who ask questions to the point where she belittles you for not knowing. Swear she loves making other ppl feel dumb. I would never take a class with her.
Literally one of the worst professors I've had by far. Isn't a good lecturer, has confusing tests and is generally unhelpful. I contacted her about assignments not being open before the due date & she would basically reply telling me I'm wrong then not accept my late work. I would avoid taking her.
Would not recommend this class. This class is mostly all quizzes and no assignments. The quizzes are not the easiest. THE EXAMS are extremely difficult. Not surprised at all with the grade I got. I learned nothing. Lectures are also very long and boring.
Decent class, take lecture notes and use the lecture review questions as exams are almost identical to them. One group paper at the end of the semester which was annoying. Homework and quizzes were easy and online while exams were in person.
I was honestly dreading this class because I don't really like political science, but Britton's lectures were interesting and clear. Her passion for the subject is contagious and I was surprised how much I ended up enjoying her class. Not much homework, grade is primarily from 3 exams and group paper due at the end of the semester.

By far the most unpleasant classroom experience I have had. She treats the class like a bunch of unruly eighth graders. Extremely disrespectful in general. Any time a student offers an idea alternate to her own in class, she belittles them. If you do it on a graded paper, your paper gets marked down. Bring a laptop and type out her slides.
She is the type to make you feel dumb for asking questions and reaching out for help. Our class was silent all the time and she would still yell and lecture us. The reviews you'll read about her are if anything are being nice. Her grading policies are horrendous get ready for a lot of 9.32/20 and other not rounded scores. Drop this class if you can
