STAY AWAY!!! She's there to push her own agenda. Rejects anything supporting Catholicism as "biased" or "not real scholarship." Makes up definitions to words. Will make you think, but if you're Catholic will also make you cry. Won't tolerate discussion not in agreement with her ideals. "We don't know and it doesn't matter if God exists."

She is a strong atheist and makes her position very clear when teaching the class. She also made me re-do my final paper after I submitted it because I did not write it exactly as she wanted. This would have been ok but she posted no rubric and gave no direction at all for a paper worth 40% of the grade. Avoid her if you want an enjoyable gen ed.

My favorite class this semester. Denova is witty, quirky, intelligent, and fun. I love her. I learned so much from class and did the bare minimum for grading materials. She just wants you to actually learn about the subject. I learned so much about Ancient Egypt. I am 100% going to take her again. Midterm and Final, two papers. Best for easy A.

(Origins of Christianity) Buy the course reader only. As a Christian, I was appalled by her inaccuracies when teaching about the Bible. As an "expert", you think she would know more. If you are not a Christian, take this since you can take her words verbatim. If you are a Christian, stay away unless you felt like being lied to about your beliefs.

1 midterm, the final was during the last week of class. 1 small paper and 1 large group project. Has a couple suggested books, but they are not necessarily needed. Provides study guides for exams, so you can kind of just google stuff if you don't have it in your notes. I like her lectures and she is pretty funny. Definitely go to class.

Her classes are strictly lectures and it can be a bit dry, but she tries to make it un by throwing in some funny stories. She is approachable and understanding. All of those commenters below who say she's an "atheist" and cite her "inaccuracies" when teaching the Bible clearly weren't listening or as just too close-minded to realize that she actually cares very deeply about its teachings.
