Prior to her class, I had no interest in statistics; I loathed it. I still do, but it was bearable with Durfee. Professor Durfee has easily been the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. She is funny, friendly, clear, concise, and HELPFUL; I could not praise her enough. This woman is the teacher to take, fight for her class.

I hate math but she made this class extremely bearable. Her lectures are not boring and she is super energetic! If you pay attention, do your work and study you will do fine on the tests, but you definitely need to study! She's one of my favorite teachers here because she explains things very clearly and will take time to answer your questions.

For someone who despises math, this class was actually bearable and kind of interesting. Prof. Durfee was very funny, nice and made all of the concepts easily related to real life situations. I highly recommend her for STAT 208.

Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss one class you will fall behind. Great, knowledgeable teacher. Only criticism is that she moves rather fast when teaching a new concept.

Great professor, stat can be a little unclear a times but she makes it easy to understand. STAT is the math for people who dont do math. Definently recommend taking Durfee.

I HATE math! I LOVE Durfee!! She has made math actually interesting to learn and easy to learn. She explains everything so perfectly that it's hard to misunderstand the lesson. She responds back to emails within 5-10 minutes even during late hours and she is so helpful. I definitely recommend her.

I had Durfee for Stat 208 lecture and she is an AMAZING Professor. I mean it when I say I would major in Stat if I knew she was guaranteed my teacher for every stat class I took. She 's hilarious and really helps you understand the material. I am not a math person at all but this is probably my favorite class right now.

Becky Durfee is legit. You walk in not knowing statistics at all and you walk out knowing statistics and having had a good laugh.

LOVE HER. She makes the class interesting and very easy to follow and understand. The book is required for all of the homework. Make sure you do all the quizzes and HW, pay attention in class and you should get an A.

Professor Durfee was a fantastic teacher, who gave clear lessons, offered lots of options for if you had to miss class, and grades fairly. She's so fun and loud and makes sure everyone knows the info before moving on. I am horrible at math, but I got an A+ in this class, because it was so fun and easy.

Professor Durfee is THE best professor on VCUs campus! She is clear, organized, and thorough. Her class is work, but she makes it impossible for you to fail. She's always available for help, gets back to emails, and is always doing her best to make the big room lecture feel like a small room class. She's awesome! Take her at 10am MWTH!

I wasn't expecting much from a stats class but Professor Durfee makes it interesting and fun! She explains things very clearly, and her funny stories make lectures a breeze. She assigns homework problems and a quiz once a week but it's not too bad. If you need an elective and are considering stats, definitely take Durfee, you won't regret it!

Honestly my favorite prof I've had at VCU. She is hilarious and makes stats actually fun to learn. I am an education major and I am taking another one of her stats class just bc It was so great. Her textbook makes everything so clear (its a fill in one), just show up to class!

Professor Durfee made the concepts as easy as possible and I always felt like she wanted me to succeed. She was consistently available outside of scheduled classes, responded to emails quickly, and made a huge class feel very personal. She uses a lot "anal retentive" ways to remember the concepts that are helpful. Make it to class, it's worth it.

Rebecca Durfee is the best! She is super entertaining and tries to make class fun! She is very clear about what she wants and gives you all the materials to succeed. She is also my advisor as a Statistics major and she is amazing! Take her!

Becky is a great teacher, & is always there if you need help. Attendance is not mandatory, but she doesn't post notes online. She tells you the specific things she wants to see when grading your paper in class. You can justify your answer in the margin if unsure between two answers. She is a very fast grader & uses BlackBoard. Her text is only $15!

Rebecca is awesome. Her lectures are entertaining and easy to follow, and I'm someone who hates math. The two lowest quizzes and homework grades get dropped which is nice. Go to lectures for clicker points, and go to labs because if you miss too many you automatically fail. Easy A if you pay attention an keep up with the online hw and quizzes.

Fantastic professor, I could rave about her for hours. Class is easy as long as you attend lecture and follow in the textbook made by her. Quizzes are take home, open note and prepare you for the 3 exams + final. Makes stats easy to remember and a breeze to learn. Wish I could take more classes with her :(

She is great and absolutely hilarious. She makes the class fun and easy to learn from. Make sure you have a TI-84 calculator though because thats what she uses and its easier to follow the steps. If you dont have one she also gives instructions for Casio and Inspire they are just written in the book.

I've never been good at math but Becky makes everything so easy to understand. She's also super funny which makes her lectures fun and engaging. Attendance does count but she's really understanding and will catch you up on what you missed if you ask before or after class. If you have to take Stats make sure you take it with her!

Mrs. Durfee is amazing. Basic stat is really easy overall, but she also makes it fun. She is really nice and she is the teacher that made me decide to switch to a statistics major. I really enjoyed this class. Plus there was rarely homework and the tests were easy as long as you practiced.

VCU is truly blessed by Rebecca Durfee's presence. She is HILARIOUS. She takes the time to clearly explain everything and ensures that anyone who is given the time and help they need. An absolute gem.

One of my favorite professors. She's so sweet and amazing! I'm awful at math and she made the class super easy to understand, plus her class was entertaining. I totally recommend taking her. I'm really thankful to have had her.

2 tests &an optional final. All you need to bring to class is a pencil &her textbook. All of her notes &examples are in that book. It's very well paced &she has a lot of energy. Math is my strong suit. I got a 99 on the first test, didn't show up for class until the 2nd test ored a 99 on that. Her textbook was enough for me to learn from.

Grades from 2 tests non-cumulative and optional final cumulative. She cares about her students and wants them to do well. Teaches at a good pace and makes sure that everyone understands the material. Not a fan of her occasional politics but if that's the worst thing to say about her then you know she's a great professor.

HATED MATH my entire life until I met this woman. She changed everything for me math wise; I am getting 100 tests which is something I have never done in math. She is also just an amazing person. Its my favorite class. The work load is extremely light and it is overall a joy.

Im terrible at math and thanks to Becky I got an A in stats. Textbook is cheap and you work in it, homework is easy if youve worked with her through the book, exams are like the study guides. Everyone I know that has shown up and done the work got an A or a high B. Shes an amazing teacher, cant give enough praise.

One of the best professors at VCU! Only two exams with an optional final that make up your grade. However, she greatly prepares you for both exams.

I LOVE Durfee. She really understands that not everyone is good at math and tries her best to make the class understandable. Only math class I've ever taken that is understandable. She also gives easy tests and other opportunities for grades. Attendance is mandatory though and skipping can bring down your grade.

Professor Durfee is amazing! Great sense of humor, great stories, great teacher. Even through our online transition (thanks a lot corona virus), she has made this class simple to understand. All homework and exams are based on practice problems in the book used in class. Show up to class and you'll be fine.

Online class gives option of learning by the slides (Basu) and/or the textbook (Durfee), textbook based videos are shorter so I watch those (having taken intro stats in HS, I can do a module in a day). Clear and easy to understand, knows what she's doing, kind.

Absolutely no complaints. She makes math easy and fun. Lectures are necessary because quizzes and tests are open note but she's so funny that it's less painful than other lectures. There's no homework besides optional quiz review. Honestly couldn't recommend more and I'd take her again if I could.

Durfee is probably one of the most amazing math teachers I've ever had in my entire life. I had the class online and learning math was super easy with her short clips and homework pages. There's not too much work and she's really understanding and caring of her students.

I hated any sort of math when I started her class. I am now super confident with math and stats. She really cares and will do everything in her power to help you understand and pass. Try to show up to class is really helps and her exams are easy to study for as long as you participate to an extent and do the work.

Had her last semester and she was one of the best professors I've had. Didn't show up to her class much but the lectures she posts online tell you everything you need. Lets you use the workbook during exams and helps however she can. Showed up late cause I was hungover one time and she made time for me to take the exam I missed.

Easiest class I've taken in my life. Durfee is such a friendly and entertaining professor, her teaching style is awesome too. All of the course material is on canvas which made sick days and mental health days easy. 10/10 professor, I wish there were more STEM professors like her lol
