Why is she still allowed to teach? SFU must have pretty low standards. Bad notes, no lecturing (about the course!), impossible exams (because we're not taught anything). I gave her the benefit of the doubt event though I checked here first, but everyone is right..she sucks. Avoid like the plague!! And she really needs to lose the pajamas.

WORST PROF EVER.. i read through the ratings prior to taking this class and i thought to myself i will just try harder... i did and it was still the worst possible class i ever took, its suposed to be an easy course turned out to be harder then organic chem.. i saw someone crying after the final exam.. NEVER EVER TAKE A COURSE WITH GOYAN EVERR..

I am an arts student taking this course ofor my Q and Sci credit. She is the most unorganized prof on this planet! Can't get anything together. Materiel isn't very hard but she doesn't teach it which makes this simple chemistry very hard! The TA does not speak english and doesnt know anything. I would avoid this class!!!

The course workload was manageable.However, the prof was so disorganized and not very helpful at all. She was hard to reach and didnt reply to any of my emails. Her notes were confusing because she didnt prepare and make them herself. She released 4 long assignments during the last 3 weeks of the term. Theres a lot of calculations in this course.

Becky was funny, but it seemed like she could not communicate to us, the students, or even the TA's, what was going on in the course. I felt the course was very independent. Every lab required extensive research and I had questions that were essential to complete the report, that no one seemed capable of answering. Would not recommend.

Hands down one of the most disorganized proffs, I have ever taken. Not only disorganized but also unfair, her exam covers nothing from assignments (which makes this course feel like 5 cred instead of 4) and she grades you like you are supposed to know concept she barely covered or tricky questions that look nothing like material covered.

I have graduated several years ago,I came back here to warn students majoring chemistry If you are taking Chem 266 and Chem 366 with her, good luck with that and don't take too many courses at the same time. 6 extremely long Lab reports ,those topics are outdated. Poor communication, not considerate, vague marking scheme

The fact that you get absolutely zero feedback from all the assignments, quizzes and term tests makes it impossible to plan and improve. Add to that the horrendous loncapa portal + lack of overall structure in this course are designed to make you feel lost. Avoid at all costs I couldn't take this course with Jeff because it was full I know now why

Poor teaching skills. Midterm and final exam average was 50% aprox. EXTREMELY long and hard exams. 3hr long exams and still not enough time to complete the exam. Absolutely no feedback in her class. I understand this is a online course but still no excuse to not provide feedback. Apparently the department is not a big fan of her teaching either.

Hilarious cause she's actually a joke of a professor. Always makes excuses for not answering our emails and not posting assignments on time. If you're too busy then don't teach at the university level. We pay thousands of dollars for people like her to ruin our semesters. I learned more from her TA's and the textbook in one day than her in the sem

She is a lovely person buts he was just a big mess. She didn't number the midterm question correctly so we had to do that and she wasn't even there. final was chaos and it was all poorly managed. we started late and did not get extra time after and another class came in while we were still doing our exams. So many questions for less 3 hours. AVOID

Absolute worst instructor you can have. She skipped like 4 lectures and expected us to learn the material on our own. She makes so many mistakes in lectures and even in pre recorded ones. Spends 60 percent of the lecture blabbering about random stuff. She made mistakes on the midterm and gave no extra time. Whatever you do, avoid her at all costs!!

Horrible, avoid her. Some lectures had 300 slides and she never talked about any homework questions. Always talked about random stuff

The professor made simple concepts extremely complicated, the exam was a disaster!!! She provided a problem with 20 questions below, if you can not get the answer the first, YOU CAN NOT do any less of them! Avoid if possible!

Please do not take her if you have other options. For chem 121 I taught myself basically everything. Her slides were taken right off the internet, and they weren't informative enough. Her quizzes were poorly formatted and she gave us little details about them.

Very unorganized lab.Spends the 1st hr of lab talking about lab procedures and random personal stories and refuses to use a mic so nobody can even hear what's important or not.Gets mad at first year students for not knowing how to do an expt and is rude if you make a mistake.Passive aggressive when answering questions.Everyone confused even TA's.

I was a TA for her for this lab but she's incredibly passive aggressive to the students. I've witnessed students asking her for help, each time I hear her criticize the student rather than help correct them with their mistake. "I don't even get how you made this mistake" is inappropriate. SFU needs to re-evaluate who they hire for this lab.

Where do we begin. She spends 1st hour of lab talking about her personal life. She changes the lab last minute to confuse us. She comes to lab hours late and doesn't do a pre lab. I think she means well but sometimes she doesn't idk. It feels like she wanted to confuse you and doesn't have empathy

Honestly avoid chem 126 with rebecca at all costs!! for a 2 credit course your workload is on par with a 3 or 4 credit course. Her labs are confusing, even the TA's were confused. The final was extremely difficult and she did not provide adequate information or give pre exam prep.

She is super unorganized and completely closed to any feedback, even when it's clear from all the mess in her classes...

When I say skip please just wait another semester. Profs like this should not be allowed. Final grades are due tn. She emailed us with 6 excuses for all the 6 days she had to mark it. The dean is pissed at her apparently. Instead of admitting she has poor time management she had a “dance recital”, “technical issues”. She then blames the TA's

Very disorganized, lab reports are marked fair because most of the time they are marked by the TAs, whenever she marks expect to almost fail. She openly admitted to being weak in electrochem, having to teach herself every semester before she teaches it. Took way too long to get our marks back after grades cutoff and sent us an email of excuses.

She yaps for an hour and expects you to finish on time. There is a lot of students who don't. She made the final exam at 3 AM in the morning of when we were supposed to take it. It was the worst exam format I have ever seen e.g. having to explain the multiple choice section why it was right and every other option was wrong. Highest final mark was⬇️

It's been 2 weeks since final grades were due by the dean still haven't gotten our grades back. She had to scale down in this class class average is 83 and so she made class average a b instead of a b+ like Surrey. Wtf is this man

She had changed the grading scale last minute because “the bonus assignment was worth too much”; she thought it would be best to make it harder to receive an A in this course to combat the weight of said assignment. We emailed her about this; she stated that she would not be responding to emails until the next term. Unprofessional at the least.

Took at least an hour to talk every lab, yet was strict on us finishing the lab early, the report sheets were marked fairly, but the final exam - which was written at 3am, in the worst format imaginable, was not. She curved us all down, and by the way does not curve up. And gave a bonus assignment just to regret it? Avoid if possible

Bad prof. Minimal material to prepare for Labs and Exams. Final exam was poorly formatted due to the fact that she wrote it at 3am. Her prelab talks are long and unnecessary, spending most her time talking about her kids and flexing her 6 figure salary on 18/19 year olds. Grades were 2 weeks late because the election was too interesting. Very lazy!

Was quite upset that she backscaled the entire class' grades down rather than providing people with the grade they earned.

Very unclear grading scheme. She most likely changed it after the final because the averages were "too high". Minimum A- percent was 89%, not 85%. This was not specified anywhere before the final, nor was it specified until asked about. She loves to poke fun at students who ask her for help in her labs. She's overall a terrible instructor.

Disorganized and unable to guide students/class properly (TAs carry every lab). Comes to labs late. Spends the first 15 to 40 minutes of the lab trying to give directions but ends up yapping. Gave the class a bonus assignment (originally not a bonus) then scaled everybody's grades back. She is however, very lenient since the class is often a mess.

The material isn't that hard, the curving was the worst idea, not everyone got the grade that they deserve. She is rude when you ask questions and usually is wrong herself. Asking a question makes you more confused, which does discourage students from going up to her from help. TAs understood the material better than her..

DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH HER. She does not help the students whatsoever and is rude. If it weren't for the TAs I wouldn't have survived. The grading scheme is very weird and the cut off for an A- is 89%. If it weren't for that I would've gotten a A-. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH SOME OTHER PROF IF POSSIBLE.

absolutely diabolical. Literally went to vegas the week of our first midterm and didnt answer any emails and cancelled lectures during that week. extremely unorganized. grades always turned in super late so you cant even use them to prepare for next test. no. just no.

She comes off as warm and friendly in lectures, but she is by far the most incompetent educator I have ever had. She makes lots of mistakes in lectures, slides are extremely long, getting grades back is more complicated than it needs to be, tutorials are a mess (and sometimes AI generated). If you're a more independent student you'll be fine.

She graded me and my friends lab, she guided us through it, we gave back the reports and she gave it back to us the same day, Received a 1 out of 30. Both of us. Makes zero sense for her to do this. Extremely tough grader because what the flip.

Exams are very difficult. Many questions were ones that I weren't familiar with, despite doing hundreds of textbook questions, every lecture question and practice exams. She's an alright teacher with a bubbling personality but this does not outweigh the difficulty at all.

She scaled the class down by A LOT for reference an 81 is a C+. We had no idea before the final that this was a possibility so I didn't put as much effort on the final as I had harder ones that same week. Went into the final with 92%. She isn't very approachable either. Avoid taking with her!

doesn't actually teach material, tells random personal anecdotes. showed up half an hour late to midterm exam leaving us with only a half hour to do the exam.

awful. awful. homework and tutorials do not help for preparing for exams. she often will ramble about random things in lecture and then will SPEED through lecture slides, making it difficult to understand concepts. do yourself a favour and save yourself the pain, do not take this prof

Was at an 89%, then she complained the average was too high and backscaled everyone. Grades also took awhile to come out, even after finals. I received my grade the semester after, after receiving a “GN” on transcript.

Never take her as a chemistry prof. She will spend majority of the time yapping about her life and waste time and not get to the lecture stuff. The midterm and finals were very hard and you won't see an A in this class.

I'm surprised her children aren't radioactive at this point
