I'm no good at math, but from what I can tell, other students in my class had an easy time with her. She's new , sweet and I think she's a great teacher. She lacks discipline but does her best to teach the material to her students. Occasionally difficult tests, the online homework SUCKS. I recommend taking her though, class lectures aren't too bad

I loved having Ms. Hiller last semester! She makes math super clear and easy, taking everything step by step. MyMathLab (the program she uses for homework) is terrible, I hated it, but overall the actual class was great. She doesn't have much control over students and it gets distracting, but she is super nice and helpful, I would take her again!

Very helpful WVC instructor. I had her for Statistics and would definitely recommend her to all. She explains everything thoroughly and is always open to questions. Only 3 tests during the semester, all of which we were able to use a full sheet of paper for notes. All of the homework is online and she gives you a full week to complete it. Great!

Easy class, even though I am not too good with math. She does explains everything step by step so you won't get confused. However, always ask and she will answer clearly. You have to participate in class and do your work. There are quizzes per week and a test every chapter. It's easy, but you have to do your part. Great instructor!

Hiller is, by far, the best Math teacher at West Valley! She reviews before every test and also offers after-class review sessions. She is very patient and is always willing to take time to explain if you aren't getting it. She is fun, spunky and always in a good mood. I am not a math major but Hiller has made me enjoy calculus! Hiller is so great! Math has its difficulties but she made it fun and easy to understand. If you have a hard time understand math, I would take her because she makes it easy for those students that feel uncomfortable when it comes to learning new material. GREAT TEACHER, you won't regret it!!!!

She's the best math teacher I've ever had. I usually find math really boring and don't do well, but with Hiller I found myself excited to come to class. She genuinely cares about how her students are doing and whether or not they are learning. She always gives reviews before tests, and never gives more tests or homework than is necessary.

I am not a math person at all. I took stats because I had to, and I am really thankful that I took this class with Hiller. She is clear, and a greatfun teacher. The class actually made sense.

Professor Hiller is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I took her for Applied Calculus last semester and she is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. Amazing math professor! Extremely clear, enthusiastic, and helpful throughout the entire semester. As long as you follow along in the notes and do the study guides before each test you'll do fine! You can use one page paper of notes for each test and she prints notes for each chapter for you to follow along in class, highly recommend

Best math teacher I have ever had. For the first time in my life, I understand the material, I feel math literate. Excellent pace, would always pause to clarify questions, consistently reassured students that their questions were valid and would give alternative follow up information the next day if the question was particularly interesting.

Professor Hiller has made Math a fun subject for me. Prior to meeting Hiller, I was forced to undertake math courses with teachers who barely spoke English and did not have an approachable personality. Thankfully, I came to WVC and found her or else I would be stuck! I feel math literate and I would HIGHLY suggest her course to anyone struggling.

I was tricked by her really high easiness rating. Don't let it fool you if you are taking math classes like differential equations. It is still hard. She explains things well, but it kinda sucks that we are not allowed any cheat sheets on the exams. She is always willing to answer questions, and she even has review sessions before tests.

I entered her stats class thinking it would be the hardest course i could fathom, yet she opened my eyes to the fountain of learning and gave me a chalice in which i could delve into said fountain. ive never been so confident in math, and i thank rebecca hiller.

"The fairest of them all"--Rebecca LOVES diffeq and knows this is a tough course by its very nature. Step up to the plate by doing the homework, and the tests won't be a surprise. Clear grading criteria, clear examples, clear explanations, fair tests, fair expectations, fair deadlines.

Rebecca is an amazing professor. She explains everything in a few steps, then solves 2 3 examples and then lets you try them while she goes around to see who needs help. Last time I took math was three years ago and I passed her summer class with no difficulty. Hint: when she lectures, go home and do the hw problems on the same night. No excuses.

Shes absolutely amazing. I have NEVER been successful in math and I passed her statistics class without any trouble at all. Her method of teaching is amazing & she truly cares about her students. I would HIGHLY suggest taking her for math. You do have quizzes once a week, but if you're following along & utilizing the help she offers, you will pass!

You will still have to put some time in to study and review, but Differential Equations was an easy A+ because she was a great teacher. Rebecca is the best teacher ever. I took calculus before at Foothill College and failed it twice. Then I took it again and had to drop it. I decided that a semester class would be better for me. If I had had her in Foothill I would have probably passed. TAKE HER!!! She is amazing. I passed with an A and it wasn't hard to get it. Also she is so cute

I am not good at math. If it were not for the aptitude of this professor, I would have failed this class. Prompt, attentive to the class, able to teach from several points of view which reaches various learning styles, and keeps a good flow to the class. A lot of material taught in a short amount of time. Be sure your algebra is solid to survive.

Her lectures are extremely helpful, and you'll understand at least 70% of the material just spacing out in class and taking notes. Very possible to get an A, just put in a lil work every now and then.

Fabulous teacher. 4B was a one and half month class course and she covered all the important diff eqs sections effectively. Tests problems are insanely long but insanely easy, so really don't make an algebraic mistake or a small careless error along a problem.

Take her for Calc! I really should have got an A in the class, but I screwed up on the final, which was worth around 30-35% if I remember correctly, which dropped it to a B... She's easy to talk to and not intimidating like some other professors and is willing to help you out when you have questions. Taking her again for Stats in the Fall!

Professor Hiller is awesome. There are a ton of concepts in stats and Prof. Hiller was very detail oriented which made it seem easy. Her lectures are very informative and she has such an awesome attitude about teaching.

She is not "easy" by any stretch. Her tests will challenge you sufficiently. Super caring and approachable. Would love to take her for the whole set of mathematics. Only issue I had with her is all the homework. They're due on exam days and I ended up being more stressed about completing all her homework rather than studying sometimes.

Subject material is very simple but difficult to remember how to use it properly. The lecture is essential to learning how to use the sequence properly. The explanations are in depth. Very high standards are demanded of the students which catches a lot of people off guard. Strong start needed for a strong finish. All homework is essential to pass.

Hiller was one of the most solid, competent, and SUPERB math instructors I've ever had in my entire life! She gives you excellent feedback not just writing, but if you vocally speak up and go to her office hours, ORAL COMMUNICATION she does!! Test/quizzes were fairly easy & notes were positively clear. Awesome prof! She's ready and energetic when teaching the class. Hw are doable in Wileyplus, allows 5 attempts till you get the correct answer. Tests are also doable as long as you study (do study guides, then you're good to go). She really gives alot of examples in the lectures so information gets stuck in your head. Thumbs up!

STATS 10 can be a challenging because it's a 4-Unit transferable class and there is a lot of concepts to remember. However, Rebecca Hiller is the finest math professor I've ever had at West Valley College. I would recommend everyone, including DESP students to take Prof. Hiller for STATS 10 or any transferable math class.

This box isn't big enough to say how AMAZING Rebecca is! She is pure gold. I took her for Applied Calculus and I did better than I ever thought I would. All thanks to her teaching style. My advice to do well is to do the HW right after each class and take advantage of the study guides b/c they are very similar to what you will be tested on.

I totally hate math but when I was looking for the right instructor, I am so happy that I choose Rebecca Hiller. I do not regret it and neither will you. She is extremely helpful and kind. She goes over everything and will help you understand. A quiz pretty much every Monday and the homework is done online. You will have to work hard to pass!

had her as a long term sub, super caring and made sure our class had all the resources we needed even though she was busy with so many other classes. Lots of whiteboard use, a bit slow going through examples, gave us a lot of room so that we could get the best grade we could in the class

Best statistics class ever! I was so nervous to take college level math but she made the class so understandable! Tests only cover things you learned in class, so as long as you attend and pay attention then you'll understand stats and perform well on the tests.

I really liked this class because it was straightforward. Easy professor and student learning environment. Very easy to talk to. She isn't to strict about attendance but for your own good don't miss class since it's only twice a week and easy to fall behind. She is by far the best professor I've had at WV.

I had failed stats in high school but Professor Hiller has changed the game for me. She made everything make sense and she was always willing to explain something if a student did not understand it. She allows a one-sided cheat sheet for exams! As long as you try she will help you.

I had her Spring 2020 so halfway through we switched online, but she's incredibly patient and has really good examples. Can't emphasize how helpful she was- especially if you feel like you might struggle with the course.

I really dislike math but she makes me enjoy coming to class, even though it's just over zoom. She's literally the sweetest, most understanding teacher I've ever had for math. She gives the most comprehensive lectures and she's really good at understanding struggles most other professors wouldn't even think of. Class community is also the best:)

I took her stats class online for spring 2023 I haven't finished with an A in math since high school but she made it easy.I am more of a visual learner, and she made sure to take the extra steps to visualize stats for people like me.Take your notes during your lectures, you will pass and understand the material.

Rebecca is a really good and caring math teacher. In her lecture videos, she explains thoroughly and goes step by step in her examples to show how to approach each problem. You honestly couldn't get a better explanation anywhere else because she is that good. The tests are in-person but the exams aren't hard and are very similar to her lectures.

I have had her for Math 010 and am currently taking Math 012 with her. She is best professor I've ever had (and that's saying something). You can tell she genuinely cares about the success of her students by the way she is so quick and open to respond to questions in and out of class. Can't recommend her enough.
