I really like as do many ppl in my class. She is very intelligent and beautiful. She seems a bit conceited but she's nice and not too boring.
Really, I do not like her or her class anymore. She needs constant reassurance on her teaching style. While she is a nice person, she is too prissy and anal to be an effective professor. Finally, I do not think that woman should be allowed to have caffeine EVER again! If she talked ANY faster, her students’ heads would literally explode!
Beautiful and Intelligent. She was kind, helpful and very interested in your success. A wee bit anal, but you take the good with the bad.
If she thought anymore of herself, she wouldn't have room left in her head for the course or her students. Egotistical, egocentric, and any other ego word you can think of. Her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Get the pole out of her butt and she might be okay, but until that happens, avoid at all cost.
First off, there is a ton of reading, appx.5 books. She also talks extremely fast, so you have to be ready to write. Although I thought her class was tough, it was really interesting. I think she is a great teacher, and she is willing to help you out and answer all of your questions...if you take the time to see her.
She is a really good professor. She made the lectures interesting and fun to listen to. There is a lot of reading, but it is easy because the subject is interesting. She is easy to talk to and always willing to help. It is an upper division class, so be prepared to work. Good class.
Very young teacher that's passionate about teaching history & its effects on our country. Makes lectures interesting. You have to stay on top of the reading. Good luck to you if you come to class w/o reading the assigned material. She gives surprise pop quizzes that make significant changes toward your grade.
great professor! I enjoyed her class and learned a lot!
Dr. K is an amazing lecturer. She knows her information well and is prepared for class with outlines and slideshows; always enthusiastic about students sharing opinions and asking questions. Her class requires hard work but it is not impossible to get an A. Bottom line: She is young, beautiful and inteligent. Good luck finding a better teacher!!!
She knows her stuff (except when it comes to wars), but she talks waaaaaaay too fast. But she's the hottest prof. I've had so that makes up for everything.
Young, enthusiastic professor! Uses lots of books - be prepared. Lots of group discussion. Essay exams, essay homework. She gives study guides but this class is still a lot of work. Really beautiful woman but very nervous - speaks in questions, constantly fidgeting, folds her arms around her body, etc.
Professor Kluchin is an excellent teacher for history. The things you learn will be used throughout college and life. She is passionate, enthusiastic and challanging. Definetly recommended. Stay on top of readings and you will do just fine!
Great teacher! Was very hesitant entering this class with all the reading, but the study guides are clear and if you know them you will do well on the midterm. Essays are a little harder but if you try you'll do great! Fun class!
She's a great teacher. Emphasized a lot on feminism, birth control, etc. in a hist17b class. She talks really fast, but you can always tell her to slow down. The quizzes/tests were ok, still had to study.
Fabulous professor who is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and loves her job! Definitely recommend her to anyone who enjoys U.S. and women's history. Great help in honing writing and research skills!
I was irritated to discover that she some of the same lectures in this class as she does with her Women's History class. Textbook use is high - 4-5 books, and we read every one. Several papers, which I can never seem to get an "A" on. She chats with her favorite students before class, and sometimes has a hard time getting control of a rowdy class.
Excellent teacher!! very passionate about history and made me very interested when i used to hate history. she made everything very clear and had great lectures. come to class and you will do well. also make sure to do the concept notes. she tells you exactly what will be on the final as well
SHE IS A HORRIBLE TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL ESSAY QUESTIONS, POP QUIZES, AND SAYS STUFF WILL BE ON QUIZZES, AND THEIR NOT!!!!! REALLY SHORT WITH CLASS, BAD TEMPER, NO TALKING WHATSOEVER OR WHISPERING, KEEPS YOU TIL END OF CLASS ALWAYS, TALKS ABOUT LETTING YOU OUT EARLY, AND DOESN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im sorry but though i think she is a good lecturer, i hate the way she does the tests. she gives you 75 terms for a study guide for a quiz, and then she only tests 4 of them, i think thats ridiculous how she does that. and she covers way too much material during one class time. i dont recommend this teacher.
i do agree that she was a good speaker but the way she organized the test were ridiculous. she covered way too much material in on class and most of the stuff she taught on wasn't on the test. the study guides for the quizzes were useless, and you had to work extremely hard to get a decent grade. her quizzes are way to hard and they worth 40%.
This was the easiest class I have taken in awhile. I mean, you still had to study to get an A, maybe that is why people are complaining, but if you study the terms she gives you will be fine. There are several extra credit opportunities to raise your grade if needed. i recommend taking her, she is a great lecturer, and it is easy
Prof K. is a very motivated instructor! She is pasionate about this subject material, and has done a lot of research on this subject. This class was very reading intensive, but you will learn soooo much. This class was a lot of reading and writing; 4 papers, but this is an upper division class! She is the hottest prof at CSUS!
extremely helpful on tests
Loved her! She's got a passion for history that really shines through and makes the class fun. She is honest and her tests are tough but fair. Paying attention in class is easy and she posted study guides which were extremely helpful. She is also really helpful in e-mails and office hours; great mentor.
Easy class go every day and ull surely pass
Kluchin is very passionate and knowledgeable and it shows. There's a lot of reading for this class but they were some of the best books I have ever read. There's 3 book reviews and tests are all writing, short answer and essays but the final is a paper. Encourages discussion. I would definitely take her again.
I was very disappointed with P. Kluchin. I dropped her class after 1 day. With in the first 10 minutes class she used the f-word 3 times along with other foul language. Im not spending thousands of dollars each year to listen to that. After years of education I'd think that she would have something more intelligent to say.
Professor Kluchin is a great teacher and the class was very interesting. She is very willing to work with you, knowledgeable, encouraging and even has a sense of humor.
Rebecca is a great professor and she is extremely knowledgeable and clear in her teaching. However, there can be a ton of reading sometimes.
She's very helpful with the class and the pace for the senior history paper is just about perfect. Good comments and there is no wasted class meetings either. Highly recommended for 197A. She writes LOTS of extremely helpful comments on papers. HIST majors should try to get her as their advisor.
She is young and enthusiastic about the subject matter. I found her lectures to be very rewarding. If you don't enjoy heavy reading, don't take this class. Books are biographies about women's experiences. The midterm and final were. difficult but covered only things she had gone into depth about during lecture and books.
I love her! She was the most engaging professor I've had. She's fun, gets passionate, cusses and calls out slackers. Grades are based on book reviews and a written midterm and written final. The reading is heavy but I didn't finish a single book (though they were interesting!) and still got great grades, as long as you grasp the concept
She prepares you very well for the test and gives out study guides. There were three pop quizzes but she hints to when they will be and what is on them too. I really enjoyed this class. It made history more enjoyable!
This was one of the best history classes i have ever taken! if you want a professor who is passionate about what they are teaching take her class. There is a lot of reading, but its worth it. This class was fun and rewarding.
She has a tough, no BS demeanor in class but she is very nice and willing to help students. There are four quizzes, two of which are pop quizzes but she cues students to when it is happening. She gives you an outline of what exactly is on the midterm and final and is very easy to get an A in this class as long as you pay attention.
She is extremely hot for one. She is incredibly accessible, if you need any help, she's there. I would take another class from her in a second, and I hate history but she made it fun! If you have to take 17B, take it from her!!
She is a tough grader on book reviews. As long as you follow her directions, go to class, and read the books, you will have no trouble. I really did not want to take this class, but with her as my teacher it became my favorite class that semester.
Rebecca is a fantastic professor for HIST 100. She is willing to work with you and help you with the major paper in this class. The whole point of this class is to make you a better writer for history so she is the best to take.
Take the adjunk!! Kluchin is a good teacher, her lectures are note-heavy which can make it hard to study but take the adjunk if you can, it will clarify. She tells you exactly what to study for the midterm, final, and two out of 4 quizzes. I would suggest her.
Kluchin is by far one of the best professors at this school. Her lectures are beyond interesting, and she gives you a list of what you need to know for the exam so you only need to take notes on those things and can actually listen to what she's lecturing about. If you sit in the front, listen, and ask questions she'll love you.
Kluchin really makes her lectures interesting and actually bearable to withstand. She is incredibly in tune with her students and very accessible. Her readings are not too hard and she tells you exactly what to study for her midterm, final, and 2 of the 4 quizzes. She can talk a little too fast sometimes, but she is one of the best professors here.
Lots of reading involved. 3 novels and 1 textbook. Come to lecture, she'll hint at what to study for quizzes. 2 pop quizzes but she'll hint at a few things you may want to study. Gives you outlines for lecture and study guides for midterm and final
BEST HISTORY TEACHER I HAVE HAD...SHE GIVES INTERESTING LECTURES AND DOESNT GIVE EXCESS INFORMATION THAT YOU DONT NEED. KEEP UP ON READING AND SHE MAKES THE TEST EASY TO STUDY FOR. REALLY NICE AND HELPFUL! I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE ANOTHER ONE OF HER CLASSES.
Great class! very easy. and you actually learn a lot from this course. She's very fair with her midterm & final. She lets you know what you need to study on. if i was a hist major, i would so take another of her courses!
Great Teacher!! She really makes history fun and interesting enough to remember the material for the quizes and tests. Two pop quizes but she'll tell wih a hint to let you know the next class will ave it. Read the material and go to class and its an easy A
Great teacher, prob the best ive had in college so far. Make sure and do the assigned reading of thew novels its the difference between an A & a C in her class. If your a good student that studys for tests/reads the novels you will def get an A.
Great teacher, but you really have to earn your grade. 4 quizzes, 2 of which are pop quizzes, but gives hints. + midterm and a final. Gives study guides for both. And gives a good amount of extra credit assignments. Learned a lot and have a better understanding of us history. She really wants you to do well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Professor Kluchin is the best college professor i've ever had. She is very precise, clear and knows her subject. As long as you attend class, read the required texts and pay attention, take notes...you should be fine. In Hist175 there are no exams. She makes you read about 6 books and you write 4 essays. Great class and a very fun.
Best class & best professor I have had. 4 papers based on readings. Lots to read but very interesting. Lectures were also super interesting and I learned a lot. She is a tough grader on papers, but my writing and improved a lot. Very helpful and wants students to succeed. Highly recommend.
Dreaded going to her class. She talks way too fast, its hard to take notes. If you bring a laptop it helps. This is the only class I actually have to record lectures. She gives pop quizzes so you need to always keep up with the readings. Did not like her...
I am a business student and this is literally the only class that I have actually learned in. She is very organized and she informs you when the pop quizzes will be and what will be exactly on the quizzes and exams. You MUST pay attention in class, which all should do in any class. She is a great teacher and people could really learn a lot.
She's a good teacher, but she talks wayy to fast.. some students would ask her to slow down.. but she speeds right back up again. I dislike her TA's because they grade sorta harsh, always have to go to the teacher and get a better grade.
The only challenge was keeping up with her lecture because there IS a lot of information and she talks VERY fast. There are 3 quizzes, a midterm + final. She supplies you with a full study guide (id. and essay) for the midterm + final, but the 3 quizzes can be tricky. Good luck if a TA grades your quiz because they mark you down for EVERYTHING.
The one professor that does not make history boring. Encourages questions and is very open to changing due dates for the book reviews. Best class of the semester!
Amazing teacher, made me want to attend class. Makes history interesting which I thought was impossible. Easy to talk to and not bad to look at. a great class and because its a GE I recommend everyone take her class.
honestly one of the best profs I ever had. She is full of fun interesting info. May seem like a lot of reading but the books used are interesting & main source for exams. Exams are easy; use examples and just understand what was going on at the time. always willing to help . I am not a hist major but I loved this class. Easy A class
HIST 175 is the easiest class I've taken at CSUS. I went to the class three times and got A's on all the exams. She lectures but all the exams and papers are based 100% on the reading. If you just do the readings you'll get an A. I suppose if you want to get something more than GE credit out of the class attending would benefit you.
Great teacher all the way up until I got my grade. She didn't have my quiz grades put into the computer. I have to take her class over again because she lacked to enter in my grades in. keep all your papers...
Awesome professor. 3 quizzes, midterm, final (not cumulative) Books-use Foner for review for midterm/final, but make sure you read all the others and do the study guides! TA went over it the class before so that was helpful. Great teacher, very funny, very clear and genuinely wants you to succeed. Highly recommended
Excellent class! She encourages discussion/debates, and is really helpful. This class has 2 in-class essay exams and 2 take home essays. You need to read they help in all the exams. You have to go to class to do well on the in-class essays. She doesn't take attendance, but know you won't do well if you aren't taking discussion notes.
GREAT! History 17B is an unavoidable reality for most students. This was my second time taking the course and she made the experience a thousand times better.
She's an alright teacher- came back after a few years of maternity leave and sabbatical. she talks a TON during lecture- tests don't really reflect all that information. Tests are out of very few points (~15 points each). Talked a TON on new deal program and only had 1 question on the test about it. short answers on test ~1 (long-ish) paragraph
She is a great instructor and her lectures are interesting. You MUST read the assigned books if you want to do well. She gives you a study guide for the midterm and final with exactly what will be on the exams so there aren't any surprises. She will even let you argue points back on quizzes if it's clear you didn't bs your answer. Very fair.
If you are a visual learner, this class is not for you. I'm not saying she's a bad teacher, its just her way of teaching. Each professor is different. However, if you learn through reading material then take this class. Make sure you always come prepared, and ready to take down notes!
She talks a mile a minute so be prepared to write like crazy, but she is a really easy professor. I think this is the only class that I actually enjoyed learning history. I hardly ever read the books, but I received an A because I took good notes and reviewed over the study guides she provides. Study those, come to class and you will do fine.
amazing teacher easy final just take notes and you will do amazing
Professor Kluchin is very helpful and entertaining, and her lectures are comical and informative. Her midtermfinal study guides are VERY helpful and direct your focus to exactly what will be on the tests. Read a bit from the textbook and the novels and you're golden.
She talks 100 words per minute. Be ready to write like crazy because all of her lectures aren't on powerpoints or anything. She is very passionate about history which makes it a little more interesting. 3 quizzes, a midterm and a final. Quizzes are hard and she doesn't go over anything that's going to be on it. Kinda crazy. I don't recommend her.
Highly recommend this professor and this class! She taught us things you just don't learn in other history classes. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. You are responsible for reading about 3-4 novels, but all are very interesting.
This was the most interesting history class I've ever taken. She teaches in a way where you won't be bored out of your mind and will pay attention. (My class was at 9am) She does talk way too fast, but will repeat if needed. 3 quizzes, 1 midterm, final, plus 3 books to read. Will tell you what you need to know on all those :)
This professor is amazing! She gives 3 quizzes throughout the semester, on midterm and final. I failed the first two quizzes but passed her final and midterm with an A, they are easy and whatever she tells you is going to be on the midtermfinal, it WILL be on the finalmidterm. Even on the quizzes. Just study and you will be good.
Probably the best teacher/class I have ever had in college. Explains lectures well. Tells you exactly what's going to be on each quiz/ test(which are so easy.) I never read any book that was assigned & still passed with an A (spark notes). Overall the class was such an easy A & I'd highly recommend taking her US HIST 17b 1877-present.
Prof. K ensures that each and every lecture is well taught, well explained and interesting, she teaches history from a "down up" perspective which is very unique! Study guides are extremely accurate to what the test will consist of and she provides lecture outlines so you know ahead of time what to and what not to take notes of! Over all great!
She is so nice! Makes you read a lot but is super funny and tells a lot of personal stories
Take Her!!!! Her class was just simply enjoyably and that's really rare.
Best teacher ever! I would take another class by Professor Kluchin in a heart beat. She is very, very helpful and tells you everything thats going to be on the tests and quizzes. The tests and quizzes are all on blue books or on lined paper which is nice since multiple choice questions can be tough at times. All time favorite class and Professor.
Couldn't have made a history class more enjoyable!! Reading is key to the essay questions but 2 of the 3 books are easy, interesting reads. No regular homework. 3 quizzes, midterm, final.
Overall a good class. She somehow makes history interesting. Only thing is that there's lots of books to read. Other than that, if you can pay attention for the whole lecture, you'll do fine.
SHE IS AN EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! I learned so much throughout her class. Attendance is not mandatory but i highly suggest attending because she makes history so interesting. There were 3 quizzes, a midterm and final. Her test include no multiple choice, all short essay questions, but if you pay attention there will be no problem getting an A!
10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND. I was not a big fan of history until I took this class. Amazing lectures. Everything from lectures and assigned readings are on the tests. Literally tells you exactly what is going to be on each test. Easily best professor I have ever had at Sac State. Offers some extra credit and is an easy grader. Freaking love her.
Class was not hard. Did not attend class but read the books. Class consisted of 4 essays, read the book and it'll be easy. Lectures were not bad.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!! I CANNOT WAIT FOR TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS JUST TO LEARN ABOUT HISTORY! I loveeeeee this class and Professor Kluchin is so amazing! I can't say enough about her. She makes history so interesting! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!! THANK YOU PROFESSOR KLUCHIN
Great professor. Be ready to read. Some subject material is hard to read because of the graphic content. The test are written tests. Study and you will do well.
Dr. Kluchin was amazing! Her lectures were very easy to follow along and gave a great prespective on U.S. History. You don't really have to read the big textbook to pass, but the novels she assigns are a necessity when it comes to her quizzes. For the midterm and final she practically gives you everything you need to know so you can do well on them
Professor Kluchin is by far the best history professor ever. She does talk fast, but will always be happy to repeat if needed. Her lectures are solid and her passion for history makes me excited for class! I love her lectures and would honestly prefer her lectures over films. She always gives feedback when she grades. I love Professor Kluchin!
She's Great and the assistances hold ALS course for history17b
This professor is my favorite history professor at Sac State so far! She is really passionate about history. She has three books that you are required to read, along with the usual textbook reading. She gives study guides for the midterm and finals. It not hard to pass this class.
Great professor. 3 quizzes and a midterm and final. You don't have to go to class to pass, just do the study guides and you will be fine. Study guides are exactly like the test. Sparknote the books.
Professor Kluchin is by far my favorite professor I've had at Sac State so far. She is very passionate about history which makes her lectures even more interesting and enjoyable. This class will be an easy A as long as you do the three readings during the semester and study the midterm and final review guides.
This class had a lot of reading, but the books she assigned were very interesting. She's an amazing professor, very kind and her lectures are interesting. She gives you everything you need for tests so it's easy to get an A in this class.
Prof. Kluchin is an amazing teacher, she is very excited about teaching you and does a great job. All quizzes and tests include either short or long response or sometimes both. all through the test arent multiple choice, she gives you study guides for the midterm and final (the only tests). Make sure you read everything she assigns.
Coming from someone who doesn't like history, she made class very interesting. Lectures are amazing, you can tell Professor Kluchin is passionate in what she does. A lot of reading, but there's Sparknotes just in case. She lets you know what's going to be on quizzes and exams beforehand. Do the Study Guides! She has this Mother vibe to me.
Probably the best class I have ever taken at Sac State, she gives you study guides with clear ideas of what will be on the quizzes and exams. Hard not to pass this class and if you study for quizzes and exams, very easy grader.
The best history professor in HISTORY, lol. She is amazing and has the ability to actually make you interested in history. She has clear guidelines for what is going to be on the tests and provides several extra credit opportunities. I recommend her. It is possible to get an A.
Three in class quizzes and two exams. She's a really great professor and is passionate about lectures. She helps you understand the past with the present. Anything on the study guide is fair game but as long as you study you'll pass. Books are mandatory if you want to pass the quizzes/exam. Highly recommend you take her with this course.
3 quizzes, 2 exams (midterm/ final) and extra credit opportunities. You'll definitely need the books. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you need to listen to her lectures. Her study guides are exactly like the test, so just study. I've never been good at history until I took her class.
I fully recommend Professor Kluchin to anyone who loves history or wants to actually learn history the right way. She is a very kind and caring Professor. She cracks jokes in class, but is also a tough grader. As long as you read the material and pay attention in class, easy A.
Rebeecca cares about her students. She is super east to contact outside of class. Attend class even though roll is not taken, you will not do well if you dont attend regularly. Textbooks are 7 $7 books, 2 are auto biographies that are super good, need for course. 3 exams non cumulative and lots of EC opportunities. CSUS students take this class.
TAKE THIS CLASS! Her lectures are pretty fast paced but still very interesting. (This is coming from someone who hated history!) 3 quizzes, 2 exams that are very easy as long as you complete study guide. Her grading is pretty easy and she gives good feedback! Highly recommend her, especially if you're not good at history.
I never went to class. I went to two review sessions and for test days. I did not get the book neither. Just look up stuff on google and sparknotes for the book. Go to reviews, they give out the answers. This class was easy.
I love Prof Kluchin! I recommend for everyone to take her, she is so funny and cares about the student. She gives 3 quizzes then a midterm and final. There is a study guide and they are EXACTLY the same as the quizzes and exams so there is no surprises. You don/t need to go to class to pass as everything is straight forward.
Professor Kluchin is an amazing Professor. Her lectures are interesting and she keeps you engaged. I may be biased because I like history but she made this class so easy to come to even though attendance wasnt mandatory. I enjoyed walking into this lecture everyday and always learned something new. She is knowledgable and understanding.
She's a very cool professor she is super nice all the time. I was late to turn in an essay and like a whole week later I asked if I could still turn it in for half credit she gave me full credit on it. She is funny and tries her best to keep the class interesting which was hard (Because I mean duh it's history) I never fell asleep in her class :)
Passionate professor, talks fast but gives study guides pre-exam. Its hard to fail this class, she is pretty great.
Great teacher. Her lectures are clear, and she encourages class discussions and questions. The only downfall was that her CANVAS (online homepage) only had the syllabus and grades, so it wasn't helpful at all. She had 5 required books, but they are very useful for the 2 essays. Her midterm and final are open notes, but fairly easy.
I can't believe that I had to buy 4 textbooks for this class. FOUR. That alone should be an indicator to run away. The essays on each book suck! They are graded so heavily. This class was no stress until the tests came up and it was way too much and too heavily graded. Overall, nice lady, bad class. Take another section of HIST17B!
I loved her class, i typically hated history in high school but she made history worth while. She made sure you understood, she was very clear and detailed in her lectures. You did have lots of reading, 3 books + the textbook but you honestly learn tons from her. 100% would recommend.
Easy A class. I didn't even need to read the book. Very easy and you learn cool things. Offers lots of extra credit and is a caring professor who cares for her students.
At first I was excited for this class, boy was I wrong. We have to read 5 books with about 2 and a half weeks to read each book and then do a paper for EACH book. Literally the only thing we do in this class is read and write a paper. Ive learned nothing. She grades harder than any English teacher Ive had. And this is a history class.
i wouldnt recommend this class unless you want a whole bunch of TAs grading your working incorrectly since the professor doesnt grade anything. its unfortunate, this professor has good reviews but shes not really hands on and she turned her lectures over to one of her TAs which was absolutely horrible since the TA isnt good a lecturing.
We read about 5 books? But they were all so interesting and gives enough time to read them. They werent more than 300 pages. 3 book reviews, 1 midterm, and 1 final! Each book has a discussion post where you answer about 3 questions. Easy A .
We read 5 books but they were all pretty interesting. 3 were 2 page book reviews, 1 midterm about one book, and 1 final about the book. Each book had a mini discussion post to do. Shes not harsh when grading either. Easy A! Just a lot of reading
She is a nice person but her class do not take this class unless you want the work. Specially if your online I took this class online due to COVID but its been horrible she only had 5 work 1 quiz, 1 midterm, 2 essays, and 1 hard final exam. The final exam is 2-3 essay pages for two questions and some vocab word to identify.
Very interesting class and amazing professor! After each book is an essay response and discussion posts, but the books are very interesting. The lectures were audio recording off of power-points which was a little hard to take notes from. Teacher responded to essays and discussions and I enjoyed the student interaction.
Professor Kluchin has been one of the best professors I've had and I absolutely loved HIST18! I can't recomend this her and this class enough! There was two exams which she preps you for, two essays, a few books to read, and 2 disscussion questions. Must go to class for the lectures but they are so entertaining!
She's the best, great lecturer, really cares for her students. Lots of reading and writing, but interesting books and she'll work with you if you need paper extentions. Fantastic professor all around.
I definitely recommend this class! There is a lot of reading and writing involved but the books were very interesting. If you struggle with writing the professor will give you feedback before the due date as long as you email her ahead of time.
My favorite professor at Sac State. Went to class everyday excited for her lectures. We had 2 essays (extra credit), midterm & final (with extra credit), and 2 discussion posts through the semester. She is so nice, funny, and extremely understanding. I promise you wont regret taking this class. I finished with a 110% and a love for history.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER !! Love her class, she always made it interesting and fun to learn. Only two books needed to read but you can honestly skim for key words. Pretty easy course. Grade made up one simple essay, and five reading questions and the final. Truly cares for her students and is willing to accommodate your needs. I'd take her again.
Easiest prof. ever. Got 1 reading QN assgmt. every 2 wks and she always gave extensions for time. TA was very helpful during review days (shoutout to Elvy). You can even email your writing before turning it in for feedback. Topics for the final are posted beforehand so you can finish them and paste it. Dr Klutchin is super sweet and caring as well.
This professor is one of the best professors by far. She really had me engaged in class and knew how to teach the class. I don't like history too much, but it was the best history class I've ever had. You can ask for help on any assignments, especially for the study guides for midterm and final. (Took this course in Spring 2022)
Rebecca is the best professor I have ever had! Not only is she super engaging and a fun teacher but, she genuinely cares about each student. Tbh, I was going through some really difficult times this semester and she really helped me through it.
Very nice and understanding professor. All grades are based on the books assigned. It is a lot of reading and can fall behind on a book easily but the questions/essays are pretty straightforward and easy. Lectures did not really affect performance on the graded assignments but class participation is graded. Overall easy class & professor is great!
Very interesting lectures for a lot of history covered. Important to listen to what she says during lectures. Take notes when needed. Enjoys students asking questions. Enjoys engagement with the class and hearing opinions. Grade based on an essay, couple reading question assignments, and the final exam. Assigns some books to read for the class.
I dont think ive ever had a kinder prof. She genuinely CARES about her students. She wants to get to know everyone and support them. She is very funny, patient, compassionate, kind, etc. Her lectures are interesting and I actually WANTED to come to class. Prof. Kluchin is the best. I truly think all other profs should take notes on her.
Wonderful teacher, you can tell she loves her job.Assignments are easy and she gives detailed feedback.Very passionate and takes the time to learn names of students. I loved this class so much. She is very understanding and genuinely cares about her students.
Professor Kluchin is a great teacher that made history less boring in the lecture. She is very passionate and greatly cares for her students making sure everyone is comfortable. The class feels liberalistic in which can feel a bit weird if you have a more conservative or moderate approach. Would recommend the class overall since she is sweet.
Absolutely lovely woman. Becky is very kind and cares about student comfort. The class has some emotionally charged material and Becky is very understanding if you feel discomfort. She is energetic and passionate.
Dr. Kluchin is a great Professor. Her lectures are easy to understand and she follows her course guide. You only need to read 4 books and do response questions (4). lastly, She is a grammar nazi so proof read before submitting assignments.
Becky is one of the nicest people ever. There is a lot of reading, but they weren't textbooks and read more like novels and I really enjoyed that. 5 books to read with either a discussion post or essay written about them. For non-history majors, you will find this class interesting and not daunting at all.
Prof. Kluchin's class was great. Graded primarily on 3 response papers which were 2 pages each, based on the reading for that unit. Reading provided, and as long as you read you'll be good. Final also response questions. Gave questions 3 wks in advance, had to memorize our response, and write it out on the final. Really interesting lecture too.
Amazing Professor, lectures are always interesting. Overall grade are based on an essay, two reading questionnaires, midterm, and final. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Her assignments are easy, just read some books and answer some questions. Her lectures are engaging and inspirational. A few guest speakers here and there. I would recommend you take this class for an easy A.
Easiest class I've taken by far! 1 essay, 2 exams, and 2 sets of reading questions. Her lectures are organized and entertaining. Definitely recommend taking notes, not required just advised. She gives out study guides 2-3 weeks before the exam. I recommend taking this class for an easy A!
She is very passionate about history and keeps it entertaining for her student as well. Her upbeat personality and ability to keep the class engaged was something I really liked and if you were struggling with anything she was always there to help and guide you. She is also super kind and respectful. Holds class study time before exams.
Becky made writing this paper manageable. She gave great insights and provided writing tips that I wish I received my first semester of college. She's available to help with anything and everything. The class structure broke up the paper nicely and she provided plenty of time to complete the paper. Class time was not wasted; she gave many days off!
She is so amazing and her class was very easy, would definitely recommend her!
Professor Kluchin was very nice! Throughout the course there were only 5 assignments and 3 of them were before spring break. The assignments were pretty easy. She doesn't use textbooks but she does use other books that we had to obtain. Not too hard of a grader too.
Professor Kluchin's HIST18 class is a great option for an easy A. Her engaging lectures, low-effort assignments, and study prep resources like Unstuck AI make this a smooth and rewarding experience. The class is worth taking if you want to learn history painlessly.
Best history teacher, she makes her lectures very interesting and engaging!
Professor Kluchin is an amazing professor. She is really passionate about what she teaches and cares about her student's. There are a total of four assignments, including three reading responses and one intro assignment. You can also send her your assignment beforehand for feedback. You should definitely take one of her classes!
Professor Kluchin is honestly the best professor. There are only 4 assignments and you're given enough time to complete them. She gives a study guide for the midterm and final which are a complete match to the exams. I would totally recommend Kluchin as your Health Science History Professor.
3 assignments, 3 books, 2 exams. plenty of time to complete assignments and goes over exam questions that she gives in advance to prepare for! TAKE NOTES, she only gives lecture outlines so looking back on your notes will be helpful for tests/hw but she is happy to go over anything if u need it. you wont regret taking her, best prof ive had so far!
Lectures are clear and very informative. Assignments are discussions of the assigned books, which you go over in class. The final is basically a longer version of the discussions. Very easy A if you read the books. The feedback she gives is vey helpful. Would recommend.
Favorite class at sac state so far. Made history interesting. Recommend especially to pre-med students. Passionate and informative. Take notes, no powerpoints given to you. 1 book you have to buy ($20 & graphic novel). Final and midterm are in-person essay questions that you are given 2 weeks before exam + in class review for them.
Over all a good teacher however there was an undertone of political promotion in a lot of the lectures.
At first I was iffy taking her class because history isn't really my thing but after the first week she actually made me want to learn about history...that's how good of a professor she is. Overall she is a very good grader and gives good feedback. She always update the class of when the next exam is or when something is due which was helpful.
Becky is by far the best professor I have ever had. I took this class two years ago and I still remember things from this class (I usually forget things as soon as the exam is over.) This class left such an impact on me as a person. Super easy grader, very few assignments. Her lectures were extremely fascinating, i never wanted to miss class.
there was like 5 essays based on the books you have to read but tbh it wasn't that hard and I barely went to class. essays are due like weeks/months apart. no homework. i passed and only read like one book that was assigned. she grades easily and as long as you do the work your fine. i also didn't even do one essay and still passed, but shes nice!
Loved Becky! Was very supportive and positive even outside of class. There were 3 writing assignments and 2 books you needed. Lectures are very interesting, speaks with lots of empathy. This class makes you a different person and changes your view on history. Took this my first semester and still remember her class,100% recommend taking her!
I cannot stress how much you have to take professor Becky's class,Her lectures are PowerPoint slides plus videos to show. Here's the thing, she doesn't just read the slides and plays the video, no she is very informative about the lectures. She's very passionate about her lessons and is incredibly empathetic and her classroom is such a safe space.
I can't speak about her other classes, however this class is a little pointless in my view. The lectures are completely irrelevant to the assignments because the assignments are based on assigned readings. This can be great because you can basically never go to lecture and pass, but like what's the point of this class?
This was my favorite class and professor this semester. I've never liked history but her lectures were amazing. You can tell she is passionate about this subject. Assignments consist of an essay about yourself, two assignments related to the books you read, a midterm, and a final. She is always open to questions and expands on any topic.
Professor Kluchin is the most caring and nicest professor. Her lectures are simple and easy to understand.
Becky is the best professor I have ever had. She is incredibly caring, kind, and thoughtful. Her lectures are phenomenal, and I wish she was the professor for every one of my classes. She will give you extensions and will except late work for every assignment expect for the last one.
She is so kind and understanding. Her lectures are great, however none of the assignments really related to the lectures, so attendance is kinda pointless. I still didn't miss a day bc she made the class enjoyable, but all assignments were based on books we were to read outside of class. She's also very lenient with due dates and there are no exams
