I highly recommend Prof. Kraegel. Her classes fight to keep her. She is very understanding & supportive. She truly cares about her students & takes time to get to know them. Her class isn't hard, however isn't easy; you have to work. She makes class interesting and fun to go to. However the rule for any English class at KSU only allows 3 absences.
love her! so helpful and understanding. not the easiest class in the world but you arent going to find an easy 1102 class. highly recommend!
Mrs. Kraegel is the best English teacher I have ever had. She makes class interesting and fun yet you learn a lot. I highly recommend this class if you want to improve on your writing.
Mrs. Kraegel is an EXCELLENT teacher! She is very creative in how she teaches & the papers she assigns are actually interesting. She is very considerate but also has certain expectations of her students. Read her emails, stay on task, ask question, and you'll do great! :) She wants you to pass and will help you succeed. I highly recommend her!
Prof. Kraegel is super, super sweet and helpful. I learned so much in this class, now I can put together a research paper and feel like I actually know what I'm doing. Take her if you can, she's great.
Kraegel was pretty easy going. Class attendance is lenient, but mandatory. Grades mostly on essays. Not many in class assignments. overall good experience.
Ms. Kraegel was an amazing professor. I learned so much from her. You will write a total of 8 papers but 4 are short and 4 are longer. The topics are pretty easy too. She's a good grader and thorough teacher. Definitely take her! I miss her already.
Amazing teacher! She is so nice, and tries very hard to make everyone enjoy the class and learn a lot. Her essays are super easy, and they always have an interesting topic. You will definitely enjoy the class and learn a lot.
You have to attend every class. However, she is very nice and makes going to class not so hard. She uses all of the textbooks she reccomends that you buy. She is a tough grader so if you are hoping for an easy A that is not her style. However, if you work hard and apply yourself you can make an A.
Have always done extremely well in English and failed 2 papers in her class. She is a nice lady but grades very tough. Went to her for help and got points on how to do better but it didn't help. I worked very hard in this class and it didn't exactly pay off. Does not keep you updated with how you're doing throughout the year either.
Very difficult grader. Ended up with a D in the class and I've never made anything less than a A on a paper prior to this class. DO NOT TAKE HER!
She is not a very hard grader in my opinion. I always got B's on my papers. During class, she is kind of boring but if you want an easy class then take her. She tries her very best to make it as simple as possible. Essay topics are not too bad, and you can give a personal twist to them. She helps you if you ask her.
She is a very sweet and very helpful professor. She wants everyone to succeed and is a EXTREMELY easy grader. so far i have made an A on every paper. I would definitely recommend taking her.
Mrs. Kraegel does not like talkative people. And a huge suggestion to her is write simple. The better my writing the worse grades I got. Write on a 5th grade level. She is a nice teacher but she picks favorites, and least favorites. You fail if you miss class 6 times.
Pretty simple rules: Show up, do the homework, contribute to class discussion, ask for help if needed AND pay attention in class, no talking, cell phone, internet etc. If you can do that, this is the Prof. for you
She is very nice and she tries her hardest to make the subject fun and easy to learn with class discussions. I got an A in the class and on most of my papers. The paper that I got a B on was the one I tried really hard to make it sound good. She doesn't like fluff in papers, so keep it simple and to the point and you should do fine.
She was nice, clear, medium-difficult. The class was good over all. You use the book and she expects you to talk in class discussions, if not she will notice and you will know it. A large amount of writing, then again it is a college class. I actually liked this class a lot.
Great professor! Really helps her students. I absolutely hate writing essays but Kraegel made it somewhat fun. Made an A on every paper. Just closely follow the rubric for each one. 3 mandatory books for this class and you'll definitely use all of them. I would recommend this class.
Ms. Kraegel was a great teacher. She always had her students in mind and would do everything she could to help. I never felt scared going to her for help because she was so warming and welcoming. She honestly made me a much better writer and class was never pointless or boring. It was a lot of work, but it is college!
Professor Kraegel was awesome! She was always there if you needed her and she would always go the extra mile for students. She tries to make class fun and even has class parties! She's super awesome, I wrote my papers the night before every time and got an A on every one. She is a super easy grader. Miss 3 or less classes and you'll be fine.
Mrs. Kraegel was really helpful. Pay attention to her class schedule and be aware of due dates and you will be fine. She will go out of her way for a student and I would take her again.
Shes big on no cell phones during class, she grades you for participation. We have 4 essays, which she gives less than 2 weeks per essay. Quizzes on readings in the beginning of the semester. Easy Grades come from participation such as bringing your text book to class. Rarely use the textbook but you have to purchase it. Hard essay grader.!
Professor Kraegel is great Comp teacher. There are only four essays due throughout the semester and a small assignment here and there. The attendance policy is set through the department, so no complaining here. She gives great feedback on essays, and help whenever you ask her for it. Would Recommend taking her. She's one of my favorite professors.
My experience with Prof. Kraegel was awesome. Focuses on the structure of your essays and on the fundamentals of good writing. Essays are not insanely long, 5-6 pages at most. 3 free absences then penalties.
Take her! Great professor, easy A! The class was for internationals and she was very helpful. Did not have many assignments. Couple of essays max 4 pages long. Final presentation was super easy and short. Go to classes. She is so friendly and clear about the work that she is giving. Would take her again!
Professor Kraegel was amazing! I did my essays the night before and got A's. She is so kind and ALWAYS willing to help! I would take her again any day!
She is a great teacher. A couple papers throughout the semester, a few pop quizzes. Do the reading and you'll be ok. Papers will have to be down mostly at home, class time is used for lecture. Overall I would take her again. She is very helpful. NO CELL PHONES.
Amazing Teacher! Super nice! Lets you have creative freedom! amazing feedback on papers! get a chance to revise them if you get a low grade! You must participate! papers usually range from 4-5 but never over 5 pages which is nice! No final. You have 4 essays.
Mrs. Kraegel was very helpful whenever I had questions. She was always respectful of students and enjoys participation. She does give frequent reading quizzes. However, at the end of the day I enjoyed her class and would take it again. She even threw a party for us on the last day of school!
Go to class & don't be on your phone. Write the papers & read the textbook because there is always a quiz on it. Great woman & professor! Always willing to help.
LOVE HER. Mrs. Kraegel is soo sweet! She's clear on what she's looking for and isn't a tough grader. She has a couple of quizzes but no tests and the final was just a reflection. 4 papers that she gives you plenty of time to do. She's there for you and really wants you to succeed. I'm taking her again next semester for English 1102!! :)
Good teacher. She has 4 Major assignments (essay, midterm, project, and final). Midterm and Final are half short answer and half essay. reading assignments were long and boring but its not her fault. She gives pop quizzes soread or at least skim the material. She can be a picky grader and takes points off for bad grammar. 3 absences allowed.
Not my favorite. Thought grader on tests and sarcastic when asked questions. Wouldn't take again.
Mrs. Kraegel was very clear on what she wanted out of the papers. Instruction was very clear and helpful. Willing to help with absolutely anything. Excellent feedback on papers and what to improve on the next one. Definitely recommend.
Ms. Kraegel was a very nice teacher. Most of your grade comes from 4 papers that are 15% each, but she is very clear about what she wants, gives good feedback, and is willing to help you. Always available for you and very nice.
Professor Kraegel is one of the best professors I've ever had. If you apply yourself, her class is so easy. It's also very engaging and interesting. Professor Kraegel is also very funny and cares about her students. TAKE HER CLASS!!
I loved her class! The first paper is a struggle if you were taught to write by citing others rather than using your own opinion. After the first it becomes much, much easier. She gives great feedback on papers and will thoroughly answer your questions. I highly recommend taking her class!
I would never take Ms. Kraegel again, tests were never difficult. A reading quiz almost every monday. She's very sarcastic when people ask her honest questions and she is insanely picky on papers. Will fail you on your final assignments and then mearily laugh at you. Very disresptful. She will not help you with grades
Lots of quizzes, but they are easy. She cares a lot and is willing to help the students and work with their needs. She is a very nice lady overall, and it is a straightforward class.
I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone, not even my worst enemy. She is not understanding, and often has a condescending tone. Her quizzes are mind numbingly easy but she grades her papers harshly. DO NOT take her if you don't have to. She seems nice and easy at first, but don't be fooled.
Becky is the best! There were few quizzes that were easy, and only four essays. She isn't a tough grader, so I made an A in the class when I am usually a B student in English. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
She always sounds like she is going to cry. She makes you print out papers even though she just has you turn them in online. Very tough, very talkative and there's really no need to be in class because you can do everything on line but if you miss 3 classes you fail.
She is really easy to talk to in class. Grading can be very specific or not at all. I would take her again.
Great teacher! Awesome sense of humor. Yes, participation matters but she is always willing to work with you. Easy to talk to and really lets you know how you are doing in the class.
I loved this teacher. She is hilarious and caring. She is a picky grader. Her pet peeves are phones and coming in late. We read a lot in this class (crucial to midterm to read them). There were a couple of short essays. We discussed the reading in class.
I had her for American Literature and she is FANTASTIC. Very nice and cares about her students and makes the class interesting. Definitely would take her again
She was my favorite professor this semester. She is so kind and caring. Her class was so fun we read interesting pieces and analyzed music in class. Definitely would take her again.
A lot of reading in this class, but you discuss everything in class so if you didnt understand, you have time to get clarification. Lots of mini papers, 400 words or so. only 2 exams and a project. Class discussions are always lively and never boring. She respects you opinions even if they differ from hers. Overall a fantastic professor!
She grades the essays pretty harshly; be sure to read all assignment sheets completely even though they are always super long. It's hard to figure out what exactly she is looking for in essays but smaller assignments are easier. Participation is important to her, and she'll deduct points based off your class behaviour. Take if you're ready to work.
Becky is a very nice lady if you ever have the chance to meet with her outside of class. But, her grading is hardcore. I had to re-do every one of my essays that I turned into her, and I kind of thought I was a good writer before taking her class. I really don't know how I got a B in her class.
Professor Kraegel is a great teacher! I enjoy going to her class. As long as you complete the assignments (which aren't hard), consistently attend class, and put effort in, you can get an A. Also she's pretty funny and leads interesting discussions.
I would recommend not taking this course. This professor grades papers very harshly and if you do an assignment and mess one little detail you will get at least 20 points off. I emailed her multiple times throughout the semester trying to get help but she would not return my emails.
Kraegel is a professor who actually cares about her students' success. Provides reading material through D2L, several short writing assignments, relies on class discussion with students to determine test topics, so show up as much as possible. Super fair, flexible, and understanding. One of the best professors I've had.
I wouldnt recommend taking her class at all not even as a hybrid. The professor seems nice at first but then you soon realize its not genuine. She grades your papers super hard. She also doesnt email you back so goodluck trying to reach out to her whenever you need help. I see why they only hired her for a part time position...
Although this class is super easy the lecture is never about the class topic. She gets off topic A LOT, mainly about music and how to solve world problems. If you are like me and want to pay for the actual course and not a problem solving class I would not take her.
While literature classes have never been my favorite, this has been one of the best I've taken. She gets off topic very fast and it can take the whole class to get back on track and likes to talk about music and names. Make sure you do the readings and participate. Keep track of your attendance as well! NO multiple choice tests either!
I really like Mrs. Kraegel as a teacher, but she did grade assignments rather harshly at times. Small mistakes could potentially mean more points off than you would imagine. Other than that, I have no complaints! A great lady, and good teacher.
Ms. Kraegel is one of the best English professors I've had. She has four major assignments, two of which is super easy, and then has "busy" work which is good because it all helps build the essays and counts towards your grade. Attendance is mandatory and she counts it as a participation grade. She makes the class fun and brought donuts one time.
One of the best teachers I have. Will take her again for 1102. She really cares about your grade and is very easy to talk to. Really recommend taking her!!
While attendance is mandatory, the class was not difficult. There were 3 major papers. The major papers could generally be written about anything you have a passion for. There was a brief homework assignment every other weekend. I would recommend taking this class. She is really good at keeping up with grades. She requires a textbook, rarely used.
I took Professor Kraegel for American Literature and really enjoyed the class. Lots of reading, but what else do you expect for literature? As long as you read the materials thoroughly, participate in class, and listen to her advice regarding studying and papers you'll be set.
The sweetest lady ever!! Really cares about her students and wants them to truly succeed. The essays were easy and she gives good feedback. Not a lot of work in the class, but I do reccommend showing up to class.
This class isn't difficult as long as you show up and do the reading thoroughly. Give yourself time to do the papers and you should do fine on them. Tests are easy if you go to the reviews and extra credit is given.
A sweet lady! Really wants you to do well in the class and you have to show that you do, too. 3 major papers that were really easy if you take your time on it and some homework assignments that were easy. Although she gets off topic a lot, she means well and will give you the grade you deserve
A little bit of reading, dont put off getting that second textbook. There are 3 big essays, but she really does well in letting you choose fun topics and as a whole it makes the class genuinely enjoyable. Shes got a good attitude, a goofy personality, and a passion for teaching. 10/10 Would take again.
She's really nice and wants the best for her students. But the class was full of busy work and did not seem to really connect much with American Literature. She gives you the readings and she wants you to be at every class so she can talk more about it. She is a super slow grader and hardly gave anything back until the end of the semester.
She's really nice. You have 3 major papers (narrative, persuasive, rhetorical analysis) and other small assignments. She grades pretty slow, so you might not get your grades for assignments until the end of the semester. She does extend some due dates on papers. We don't meet up as much online even though we have a set date/time. Always helpful!
Sweet but don't be fooled. She grades extra tough. And will fail you at will.
Professor Kraegel definitely cares for her students. She takes a bit to grade and had trouble operating d2l. There are two essays and two quizzes with lots of assignments, so it's easy to get an A. She cares that you participate and grades on that and not if you're correct or not. She was a little bit disorganized and changed the schedule lots.
Lazy grader and takes FOREVER to respond to anything. You have a better time relying on your class mates than her.
Becky gives a series of daily assignments that are easy enough. My daily assignment average is a 98, however she gives 3 papers that she grades intensely. We all failed 1st paper. It is virtually impossible to get an A in her class if you do not get an A on every single paper. Also, don't even bother sending an email to her, she will not respond.
Professor Kraegel is not genuine. I HIGHLY recommend you don't take her. The work is not impossible to do and easy to complete but the way she grades is absolutely terrible. We had three major essays and she graded them harshly. I consider myself an amazing writer! She does not show up to class and does not answer emails. She puts grades in late.
She lost all of her documents at the beginning of the semester. We never got a syllabus, didn't know what things were worth to our grade. She is okay, but I wouldn't take her if there were better options. We didn't have long readings, but there was a decent amount of assignments. She made me work for my grade, but English majors should be okay
She lost all her documents at the beginning of the semester, because of that I didn't know what assignments were worth to my grade. I wouldn't choose her if there were better options, but if you're an English major you're fine. No long readings, but a fair amount of short. A fair amount of assignments to do. Definitely made me work for my grade.
She was very nice and held weekly lectures. However, she took up to three months to grade some of our assignments so it was unclear how successful we were being in the course. Participation definitely matters during the online lectures. Overall easy class and easy professor.
I took Becky Kraegel's online ENGL 2130 class. I didn't feel like there was too much work. She left us with very few assignments and only a couple readings. All reading resources she gives to you so you don't have to buy a book. Going to class online is mandatory for credit. My only issue was it took three months to get any of my grades back.
This professor is terrible. Attendance is required from us, however, she misses class about once a week and we only have class twice a week. She has still not graded the rough drafts from early march and the semester is over. she is a very tough grader and fails essays for simple errors.
she is terrible, simple. Returns essays MONTHS later if she returns them (some don't even have their first essay grade and the semester is over) stating they were written well, but receive a failing grade. does not follow the 'grading scale' that SHE posted. Very unorganized and does not answer any emails. its not the work that's terrible, its her
she is unorganized and unprepared, I will not suggest to anyone
There were two tests in total. I did not take the second bc she did not require students with A's to take it, but the first was very easy. It was just over class discussion material, so if you pay attention and read the material, you'll be fine. Attendance/participation in discussion are large parts of the grade.
Shes very kind and an easy grader. She does take a while to grade things and completely lost one of my papers which almost got me a B in the class. Otherwise I would recommend, 3 easy essays and lots of completion/participation grades you get for going to class. She uses the text book but i never bought it or read it and did fine without.
Mrs. Kraegel is an extremely nice person and is super caring. She is great to get to know on a friendly level, and wants to see you succeed in class. She drops 1 test and sometimes drops the final BIG essay and lets you revise the first one for the big grade. Her tests are fully written response so they're kinda hard. Class is based off poems
Unless you want to read a bunch then have a test ask you about every single detail, don't take the class. Entire class just felt it was unprepared and the direction of the course didn't make any sense, also you better know your grammar very well. She does not let anything go, she will mark everything. I've made As in my other English classes...
The class was very laid back. She was very lenient on work and gave good feedback. Had 3 tests but dropped the lowest test grade. We had to write 2-3 essays that werent hard at all. If you come to class on certain days she would give you extra credit. Definitely recommend her if you want an easy class.
She is a great professor, she was nice and took time to learn your name and relate with you. there weren't many assignments which can be good or bad based off how you look at it but she was really good about letting you know far ahead of time of the due dates and reminding you in class. I loved her.
Professor Kraegel is a very sweet person, but she is a harsh grader. Attendance is a huge part of your grade, so you will need to show up to every class, and being sick is not an excuse. She did not grade our essays till the end of the semester, which made it pretty hard to get my grade up in the last week.
Shes a super nice professor and its a pretty easy class but attendance is mandatory and her classes are the most boring hours of your week. So if your fine with giving up a couples hours for an easy A and a nice teacher shes the one for you!
I loved Professor Kraegel! She's incredibly nice and takes the time to learn everyone's name, which a lot of professors don't do. She gives great feedback on assignments, and if you participate in class, the readings are pretty interesting as well. The only flaw is she is sometimes a little slow to grade things, but I highly recommend her!
She is a great professor but a little unorganized and all over the place. Cares about her students and is easy to talk to. She requires a textbook but we never used it so don't bother buying it. The final is a 1500 word essay thats worked on throughout the semester.
Class averages on major assignments were low. Directions were usually unclear, and feedback was nonexistent. At one point we had to do an elementary school level assignment, which felt odd. Attendance policy was draconian, being violently ill or sleeping in was treated the same. Very nice lady but the class felt like a slog.
She was really chill, unfortunately attendance was mandatory, which felt pretty useless most of the time. Shes super nice though but her grading is pretty odd, not to bad though.
Easy class. We have 3 essays and she will help you figure out what you need to fix in them. Talks a lot. Most classes are just her talking about random things. Takes very long to grade papers. She is very nice though.
She is alright. She takes a super long time to grade things so if you want to know what your grade is before the end of the class maybe don't take her. She lost half of my classes essays so she had to regrade them all and she didn't even realize until someone told her that we still didn't have a grade for the essay.
Loved her, Such a sweet soul. My advice, read what she gives out, it's all usually short things that are easy to remember because you will need to remember general things from what you read on the test. Homework is given but it's really easy to complete. She loves participation in lectures and activity, makes learning about content easier.
I loved this Professor so much, so sweet. She is down to Earth and cares about you and your grade. Homework and test are easy, there are a handful of poems for you to read but they are easy. The best way to fail is just not doing the work, not coming to class, not reading the poems (you need to recall certain information for the tests).
Super sweet and caring, cares about her students' learning and truly wants to help everyone succeed. She gives great feedback on assignments and lets you know exactly what you need to do to improve. However, she's a very slow grader (can take weeks or months) and her lectures are lengthy and pointless, she rambles on about unrelated things often.
Yes, her classes don't entirely focus on a specific assignment, but often involve advice, or a group discussion where you can hear other points. I enjoyed this class and preferred it over a typical teaching bell-to-bell class. With essays, she prints out each one and writes detailed feedback through out the entire essay. She truly cares so much.
Professor Kraegel is incredibly sweet and creates a relaxed atmosphere. The class is straightforward with manageable assignments - just attend, participate, and complete the readings. For study prep, I found Unstuck AI's tools really helpful alongside the course materials.
Definitely not a fan, most lectures are either just empty conversations about nothing in particular, or an in depth view at the most useless writing tool imaginable. D2L formatting makes the class annoying to navigate, but not hard. I had several assignments in which the instructions were extremely unclear and it took me a while to get answers.
She gives attitude when asking questions about grades. Her assignments are never clear and cause a lot of confusion. For her major assignments, she takes all semester to grade. If you want to know your grade faster, do NOT take this teacher. She also changes the guidelines for assignments a lot, making students change their papers a lot.
Attendance is mandatory; she does not care whether you miss for a doctor's appointment or anything, it all counts as a missed class. If you miss more than 5, you automatically fail the class. The workload is not a lot, but I wrote an essay and got told it was 100% AI. Overall, I don't recommend; you're better off taking an online English class.
She is very knowledgeable and knows how to give you feedback, but do not expect to get it without asking. She did not grade anything until after the course withdrawal date, so avoid if writing isn't your best subject. Attendance is mandatory and is graded. No exceptions. She is fairly lenient on grading.
