She's really nice, and her class is easy, if you listen. However, she never answers questions, so if ur actually interested in the class topic, it's kind of frustrating.
Gives you every chance to do well. Very nice teacher, difficult to not get an "A". But.. she never gives a flat out answer to anything as far as information goes.
nice lady you get what you earn easy class
I can't stand her. Her class planning is horrible. She is confusing and doesn't explain the topics clearly. She's rude and treats her class like immature children. She doesn't properly prepare her classes for her exams and her mood swings are unmanageable
Great teacher if you take her religion 2120 class! She expects you to do your best and if you do you'll get an A. Easy class!!
She's unclear, rude, unhelpful and incredibly boring. She requires an obscene amount of reading.
She is a nice person. yet, is very biased when it comes to certain religions. Me and a couple of people in the class almost walked out. However, we decided not to be as rude as her that day.
I took three of her four religions classes and loved every single one. She is a very rational instructor who makes class discussion very easy and open. She is very helpful and I learned a ton!
I've taken contemporary world rel, rel in america, and new testament with her. She was always very helpful when I had questions and I obviously enjoyed her classes to take 3 of them!
Generally a reasonable professor. You must take good notes, study, and work diligently at the journal assignments and your creative project you will present to the class. Not easy. But do all this and you can get a very good grade and learn much.
One of the best professors I have ever had at Santa Fe. Very knowledgeable, professional and fair.
I toke Mrs. McKee for Comtemp Religion. She is a very knowledgable woman, who knows her stuff. She is quite intemadating so bear that in mind. I enjoyed Dr.Kirkconnell's class must more. But Overall is a average professor.
Hyper liberal, may interupt in a "debate" if you trail from the point, but very knowledgeable.
Prof.McKee is very straightfoward with what is expected of you. She gives really good study guides before exams. I only got a B but that was my fault for not taking better advantage of the study guides.
I took Ms. Mckee in Summer B 2004. I absolutely loved her class. She is fair, and gives study guides that help 100%. Her class is really fun. I have even thought about theology as a major because of her!
McKee is very intelligent. She's straightforward with assignments, but makes tricky test and quiz questions. She doesn't like to debate. You're wrong and you're ALWAYS wrong if you disagree with what Corbitt says
Great teacher, clear and nice
She is very intimidating and rigid with what she requires. At the same time you have to respect her skill and knowledge. She requires 4 observations of religeous sites which was too time consuming. My computer and schedule is a pain and she will give absolutely no sympathy to either.
Although she knows what she is talking about, if you miss one day you might as well give up because she will make it real hard to catch up. Her teaching is crappy, and hard to pay attention to. I do not recomend her
I hated this woman!
Professor McKee makes the class very open and easy to understand. She is very professional in her taching of each religion with equal attention given. I reccomend her to anyone interested in taking this class.
I love Rebecca McKee!!!
favoritism!
a challenging class that you must come prepared for, and well read from previous lectures. Mckees quiz's are hard and she is very straight forward. A class that has few assignments just projects, tests , quizes and participation.
I busted my ass in her class and I completed all the work and that **** gave me a C+....I know what I deserve and I i'll tell you I definetly deserved more than that grade....
Be sure to read what she assigns before hand or at some point before tests. I thought tests were on appropriate material that was covered in class or read about in book. You will have to visit 4 different churches and write a 2 pg paper on each, but I thought it wasnt too bad. The class wasn't all that hard, in my opinion. Would recommend for sure.
she's a great teacher. you just need to make sure to read ahead of time and keep up with her.
HATE HER!
She was really helpful. Definitely one of the best teachers I've here.
NOT a hard class, just gotta do the reading and take part in discussion. she has alot of easy creative assignments to keep it interesting. and pretty hot for someone her age!
She is really rude, and talks to people like they are retarded.
She teaches at a fast pace, and the tests are extremely challenging because the study guides are almost worthless. I usually do good in all my classes and I have never made a low grade like I did on one of her tests. She is really nice personally, don't get me wrong, but she doesn't teach all that great.
Prof. McKee is one of the worst professors i've ever had. She is rude, mean, and talks to you like your stupid.
a very nice lady, but a little strange as a teahcer! She is definately knowledgeble but her lectures are way off whack! She basically only lectures on the things she likes. It's really tough because I am an auditory learner! It's not hard to pass or make a B, but I wouldn't suggest it if yuo can get your hum. credit with an easier teacher!
She was one of the best teachers i have had
This teacher gave me an F although I did EVERY discussion and assignment. With grades in the 80s-90s I should not have failed this class. She chooses favorites obviously and if you have an opinion she will fail you. Worst teacher I ever had.
Dont take Religion in America with this teacher!!!
the worst teacher in Santa Fe!!!
Dr.Mckee is BY FAR the best Professor at Santa fe.I would absoultey recommend this class to anyone of all faiths, who is just curious about different religoions, Ms. Mckee makes her lectures fun and interesting and NEVER makes people feel dumb for asking questions. There are only 2 tests; Mid-term / final. No quizzes, Not a gordon rule; group work
shes awsome with world religions and very helpful, attendence is alittle improtant tho..
Prof. McKee is tough, but she is fair. If you do your readings and assignments and are prepared for class discussions, she is more than willing to help you out if you have a problem. However, if you are a slacker and then go to her for something, she is a lot tougher on you. She is a fantastic lecturer and really knows what she is talking about.
If youre a perfect student than she's a perfect teacher. But if you have one little emergency and you get behind do not expect any sympathy from her because you are now a slacker. She does not return emails nor phone calls. She's rarely at her office hours... She makes you feel stupid to any question you ask. She SCREAMED at me in her office hours.
She knows what she's talking about.
Professor Mckee is an extremely knowledgeable teacher. She really knows her stuff. Very informative lectures. Study hard and you will be fine. Highly reccomend this class.
Her lectures are very scatterbrained. She does not use notes on the board, it's strictly a lecture class. If she ever does give notes on the board they are always incomprehensible. Her tests are impossible, and she revels in it! She takes pride in the fact that her class is "difficult." Stay far away from her! I suggest taking a different professor,
She definitely knows what she's talking about. You can't miss the lectures, and you have some reading to do. She covers all the religions with careful sincerity. Her tests are hard, but the projects help your grade.
Interesting lecturer. This class was very intensive reading. Quite a lot to remember that I was unfamiliar with, but I learned a lot.
She puts you on the spot a lot, so make sure you do your assigned reading & know how to answer her questions correctly. She's a fairly easy grader. We wrote three papers, all of which I got an 'A on and put little effort into. All in all, she ended up being a nice lady & I plan on taking another of her religion classes soon.
her calss is not very easy. there is a lot of book reading to do. she is a very sweet lady. i never found her boring, and i looked forward to going to her class. there are only a few things that count for grades. its a good thing! i ended up with a b+
One of the most boring classes I have ever taken. She talks and talk and talks but never really says anything. Its almost like you have to have a intense background knowledge of all the religions before you take the class. I hated it, and I hated her. I left that class knowing nothing. Its full of stupid 4th grade projects. Don't take her.
The class is boring and attendance is mandatory. The lectures are repetitive. You only have 3-4 grades not including the two tests and she grades tough.
DONT TAKE HER! shes a nice lady but, oh man, her tests are freakin annoying. and she dosnt really know what she is talkin about. seriously. take someone else if you want to learn anything at all!
She's nice if you come to class and are a good student. She can be pretty confusing though in lectures, and rambles a lot. She's not a strict grader on projects but her finals have a lot of trick questions. I wasn't very satisfied with her class.
I LOVE Prof. McKee! She is my favorite professor so far. She knows everything she talks about, and has a great personality. Just listen closely and use her study guides for the exams and you will do fine. I absolutley recommend taking her!
I thought she was a little boring but then again I wasn't that interested to begin with. She is a good teacher but a little tough. Most of you are just whining.
Grrrreat Professor. She's very active and funny and smart. She knows so much about religion. The class environment is great and her projects are the best. McKee is the "key."
I have no idea what all these other people are talking about. This woman DEFINITELY knows her stuff! She's actually one of the best teacher's I've had at Santa Fe & I wish she taught more religion classes. I've learned SO much from her class! Attendance is mandatory. You can only miss 4 days, anymore & you get 10% off your final grade. =/
Prof. McKee is nothing less than awesome. Her lectures were a bit verbose but interesting. I didn't know much about religion other than Christianity... but I left her class w/ a broad understanding of all we covered. Had the chance to be creative w/ the projects we had to do... and I was a winner along w/ two other students in class. Enjoy!
Good teacher, explains things very well. Can get a little boring sometimes.
Good clerar easy grader
Smart, very nice, very pretty, and VERY educated! not a good teacher for me.. maybe for others but she just rambles about parts of religion that arent on the test then gives u 100 question review and never gose over whats on the view! but will work w/ u if u ask for help!
Very good speaker. She makes every thing interesting when she talks about it. The only problem is she elaborates a little too much and you end up getting bored but still I highly suggest her.
i had her for contem religion & i withdrew..she is honestly not a good teacher.i will prob get critized for this, but unless religion is your major or you have prior courses of interest in this subject..DONT TAKE HER!she was the first class i ever dropped n i have to say..walking into her class always made me feel sick..she isnt understanding at all
she's pretty clear with her lectures. make sure you go regularly, bc her lectures go more in depth than the textbook. her tests are very straightforward. only one 2 page paper and one easy creative project/informal presentation. other than that, no homework or quizzes. she doesn't know everything about religion, but she knows enough. easy class.
She is not hard just not a nice person. Everyone in the class agreed that she was a witch. She tried to mask it by being fake, yet you could tell she just loved to rip certain students apart at every chance. She truly gets pleasure out of embarrassing or "one upping" her students.I am very studious and got an A but dreaded every min spent in her cl
She is an okay teacher! Go to her lectures and read the text and you will learn what you need to. There is no homework, but there are two projects (which are simple) & you have to present one of them. She isn't much help in class if you ask a question. Half the time your classmates will answer your question rather than her. She is very nice though!
This class is very interesting. There's not a lot of individual study except when reading the chapters and studying. She likes to teach in group and class discussions. Attendance is a must! Very little homework, but the assignments are major. Great teacher! I would recommend!
She is extremely condescending and can't teach. She can be nice, but she's so unhelpful that it's not worth it to take this class. She also doesn't let you know your grade for anything but claims she did, no matter how many people say otherwise. Save yourself the headache and take someone else.
Great teacher. I absolutely loved her class. If you have the chance, take advantage of her religion in America class.
Hardly takes roll, class discussions are hardly effective. What little homework she does give you will never see again. Tests are completely irrevelevant, very repititious in lectures. Knows the material but has a very hard time relaying it to students. Teaches in groups, but never quite finishes what is started,
Great teacher! She definitely understands the subject of religion and teaches it well to her students. Take her if you are genuinely interested in gaining an good understanding of religion in the world and in America. the key is to be open minded and creative in her class and you will do well. Also study! use textbook and take good lecture notes!
She is a good teacher and knows the material, but she is a bit flakey when it comes to your grade and tests that you took. its a pretty easy class and the tests are pretty straight forward. i would take her if you're looking for an easy humanities class
Puts important notes on the board, then usually goes into a small lecture where class discussion is openly welcomed. No laptops are allowed during class for notetaking though =-/ Overall, a pretty good teacher that explains the toughest concepts of each religion smoothly.
Def need to learn the terms, that was a big suprise on the 1st test for me. Very helpful to read the chapters and take notes from the board. Very good teacher, she knows her stuff but has a tendency to drag out any questions you ask her.
She's a nice lady. She isn't the best at clarity when you ask her a question an she often goes off on random tangents. The test are moderate. She is really passionate about what she does. Overall a great professor.
She is definitely very well educated on the subject, but she lectures as if you are as educated as she is on the topic. She rambles when asked questions and is condescending in a way that most people wouldn't pick up. She definitely likes to tell people that they're wrong and goes about explaining things in such a way that makes you regret asking.
I wish another professor would have taught this class. Her reviews are worthless, she's lazy, unorganized. She's well educated, but seems like she needs a public speaking class. She has sort of a "review day" but if you ask her one question, she'll spend the whole class on that one question. I would not recommend this professor to anyone.
Very nice and understanding. Doesn't have many assignments during the year. Exams are hard but if you show up to class and take notes it'll help you a lot. 2 easy projects that help your grade go up if you don't do well on the exams.
Shes a very good teacher. Her vocabulary is very wide which means that you have to know your material. She is passionate about what she teaches and will help you every chance she gets. You must study for her exams. She doesnt really give out a lot of work. But she does have 2 big projects that will help boost up your grade she gives extra credit.
Very easy teacher. 2 big projects that help your grade immensely and not too difficult, easy tests if you take notes and go to class atleast once a week.
Great teacher, very proficient. Unfortunately, most people in her class are at a high-school level of understanding. She means exactly what she says-- read the material, come for the lectures, do the homework. Her objectivity is needed, passions roared & people got defensive about their own religions. I will take her again.
Professor McKee is without a doubt my favorite professor ever! She is VERY knowledgable and VERY passionate about her field, and is a really nice person too. She will make every effort to accommodate your needs and encourages your creativity. Don't be lazy, read your book, do the essays, the few big projects and have fun!
Don't take her!
Do not take her, she is knowledgeable but not helpful at all. I was always lost in class and she is bad at giving back assignments on time and I had to drop her. Do yourself a favor and don't take her!
I didn't learn anything and was I had to withdrew because she did not give back any grades and I failed two exams. Her exams are pretty easy but you have to know terms and memorize pictures.
I did not enjoy this class at all. She never gave grades back on time and we had quite a few substitutes throughout the semester. She barely lectures on stuff that is actually on the test, which is memorization of pictures and vocab. Wouldn't recommend taking the class by her.
Professor McKee, is a very nice lady, but a horrible professor. She doesn't use the CANVAS, therefore, you never know what your grade is. She takes forever to return essays. I was not impressed at all with her teachings; my expectation of the class was totally opposite of what the class actually consisted of. DO NOT TAKE HER FOR THIS CLASS.
I had to withdraw because I did not learn a thing. She expects you to know the material the first day she talks about it. Has high expectations and you never know what your grade is. Horrible Professor. Do not take her!
Mrs McKee is a great professor, But you have to always expand your mind in her class and attend. She doesn't grade classwork on time, but provides so much extra credit opportunities along the way. Attendance is not mandatory, but to keep up with the material you should try to attend every class. With effort you can receive a good grade.
she is a good teacher i recommend students take with her
Professor McKee is very reasonable and is help you if you put in the effort. She can be forgetful at times, but you just have to remind her about stuff. Her tests will be no problem if you read the book. No joke. The book is a MUST for tests. It is everything she teaches on and videos we either watch in class or she sends for us to watch.
I had her this past Spring Semester and I didn't even bother to buy the text book and I got a B+. With that said, she does give you ample time to turn in every assignment and if you come to her beforehand with an issue she'll be more than accommodating. Attendance is mandatory, as she takes random days to take attendance.
She is the kind of teacher that hates her job. Never helpful, never specific, always in a bad, pretentious mood. She is mean and complains when students ask for help. Please find a teacher that actually cares. She doesn't care about any of her students. Don't take her.
professor is a very intelligent woman but her way of explaining the material is not that great. the test come from the book, videos, and lecture. you kind of have to pull through on your own to get the most out of her class. she was absent a couple of times and does not post it to canvas. She sometimes may not be that helpful when answering questio
Her class is hard to understand, I didn't pass any of her three tests and still passed because I showed up and did the work. The only bad thing is that her tests are not anything like she teaches, you have to read a lot and pull information from videos, lectures and the book and it's confusing. She's a nice person but her class ins't very clear.
Rebecca will never let you know your grade until the end of the semester. Only five grades throughout the whole course.
She's Ight
This class was by far one of the worst classes I've ever taken. Being 24 years old I thought I had it in the bag and would excel amongst my classmates but not only myself but everyone around me were not only constantly complaining about her but also about their grades. She takes FOREVER to grade and return papers. I would definitely not take her!
This professor made me feel extremely uncomfortable and made it clear from the beginning. She wouldn't help me when I asked for it and treated me very unfairly, and also tried to embarrass me in front of the class. I highly don't reccomend.
professor McKee is not clear in her grading or expectations. She doesn't explain clearly what you are to do for her class. She makes you watch a lot of videos and documentaries instead of teaching. Studying for her tests are difficult because you don't really learn anything in the class.
Professor McKee has a hard time giving grades back in a reasonable manner. If you are a visual learner, she has a ton of interesting videos that she makes us watch. There are a few that are super long and boring at times, though. Everything she teaches in class is online, but you still have to show up to class because attendance is mandatory.
A lot of the course is online work, but hey, attendance is mandatory. The textbook is actually used, so no regrets when buying it! When she asks more than one time in a row if anybody has questions on what's being covered, it means that she'll throw you a pop quiz if no one asks questions. Most of the time, however, these quizzes aren't graded.
I took this as an Honors course and it was wonderful. Your grade is based solely off of tests and projects but they aren't difficult and are actually really fun and creative as far as school work goes. You are required to create a poster and present it, but again, its not hard. Prompt grader. Take good class notes and you won't need the textbook
Very unclear in instructions. Rude and condescending to students. I don't think she cares about any of her students. This is the smallest class I have ever had in my life (under 20 students) and she doesn't know a single name. Her tests don't have much to do what we "learn." She doesn't grade or give feedback on anything. I have learned nothing.
