Labs didn't coincide with material that was being covered at the time of assignment so it's hard to know how to complete it. Purchased a video tutorial program on my own to learn most material. Many extra credit opportunities. Good links to activities for credit and home labs were interesting. Fair/clear grading. Exams reflected material covered.
A very solid choice , two lectures a week with a homework and test assinment due on sudays. she gives out helpful videos and tutoral for the class.
Her PowerPoints and exams don't always go together. Her homework are online and have about close to 20 questions on it... sometimes more. Makes you take a screenshot of this online activities and submit for credit. It's really easy though. Not hard at all. The activities lasts less than 5 minutes. Doesn't round grades. She's a tough professor.
Get ready to do work. Within a one-semester class, you will be given 4 exams. The first three exams cover 3 chapters worth of content and the last exam will be your final exam. Each week ends with a homework assignment and a quiz. All of the lectures are read off directly from her PowerPoint, however she gives hint of what you need to memorize.
Each chapter has a few small assignments (very easy) that can be submitted via screenshots, and homework/quiz. The homework takes a while, mainly calculations, but quizzes are shorter and cover HW material. Exams are a mix of multiple choice and calculations. Professor gives good feedback and follows schedule in syllabus.
I loved her class. Yes it was quite time consuming with many activities, reading, homework and quiz each week. But she was very organized, followed the schedule and syllabus and I learned a lot. I also appreciated many different ways she showed the concepts (such as activities, videos and games). Id take her again.
Dr. Page is an amazing professor. I enjoyed her lecture so much hat I also took her for CHM 2046. She is very accessible for students outside of class. She makes sure you understand the topics and if you ask reviews anything you missed on your tests. I would highly recommend her class. I will definitely take her again if the opportunity arises.
Dr. Page was really great about emailing back with any questions I had and seemed to really care. All of the lectures were recorded which really helped when it came to tests. There was lots of interesting real life topics like learning about pool chemistry and solar power plus a bunch of extra credit. The free textbook was great too!
Dr. Page's class is very organized and easy to follow. Chapter modules have recorded lectures, lots of practice problems, and good examples plus she's good about answering questions. Lots of extra credit and final replaces lowest test grade. Free online text was easy to use. Definitely a good choice and I plan on taking her for CHM2045.
After putting off chemistry as long as I could, I took this class and actually understood it! Dr. Page has so many extra resources available it really helped me to understand what I needed to. When I had questions, she was really good about explaining things. I'll definitely take her for CHM2045.
The class was really organized and easy to follow. Do modules in order with assignments and lots of extra tutorials and practice problems. Tests were fair and always had possible bonus points. Extra credit and free textbook make this class a solid choice.
This was hands down the best Chem professor I have had. Besides the fact that she has a very clear grading scale and offers plenty extra credit for each lesson, the textbook for this class is also free! As long as you look through the lessons and do the assignments on time there is no way you will fail this class.
This is the best online class I've taken! The class was laid out really good with tons of practice problems and examples and she answers emails pretty quickly about questions.
Dr. Page is very nice and helpful. She has a lot of opportunities built in to boost your grade. Her lectures weren't overly helpful, but she did include a lot of outside sources. I also took her for the lab portion which was a breeze. I will take her again for future chemistry classes.
Literally the worst teacher ever!!!!! DO NOT TAKE PLEASE. I was a straight A student and had a college 4.0 GPA. After taking her class in the summer she failed my exams for something so little. she would not let me take it again, I had basically a 100 in the class before. Worst teacher ever. She ruined my GPA and any chances of going ivy league
Finally, a chemistry lab I understood. Definitely recommend. She cares and answers questions in ways that make sense.
I took this 8 week lab so I could get Gen Chem 1 and 2 all finished in 1 semester. Most of the labs were pretty easy and she had links to lots of extra tutorials and examples. I just wish she taught the 8 week lecture too.
Dr. Page is a good choice for intro to CHM. Only neg thing is some of the labs don't have completely clear instructions. When I asked her she said to watch the tutorial (already did) which just read over the 2 sentences of unclear instructions. Communicate with your peers, its really an easy A. Lots of EC opportunities. No exams or tests.
Good class with no required attendance and lots of extra credit. A free textbook and lots of videos saved me having to go to youtube when I had questions.
I'm active duty military and got deployed overseas when the semester started, she was very accommodating to my circumstances and extended all of my deadlines by 2 weeks. She does all of her own lecture videos and provides a lot of extra resources. Free textbook. So many extra credit assignments. Great class! (:
I was really worried about this class. It started out really easy but I did really bad on my second and third unit test. She replaced your lowest exam with your final grade which let me get an A. Lots of tutoring available but most of the day to day work was super easy. Just quizzes test and watching short tutorials. And a free textbook
Amazing Professor!!!!!! Dr. Page is the best chemistry professor, she replied really fast if you have any questions. I took her 8 week class and she had many helpful videos to help you with each chapter. Lots of extra credit that is very easy I plan to take CHM 2046 with her next fall. Her test are not to hard as long as you study you will be fine.
I put off my science elective and finally ended up taking this class since I heard this prof was decent and uses a free textbook + no required attendance. Lots of great videos and interesting reading about food additives and other everyday things made this class a good choice for a nonscience person like me.
She was honestly one of the best professors I've ever had at HCC. She was extremely communicative and reasonable. Whenever I had technical issues, she always was able to be considerate and extend the due dates when I emailed about concerns. She also gave out a TON of extra credit. I would take her over anyone else, and recommend her to everyone!
Awesome!
She taught hybrid 2046L and this lab class was very hard. She was so nice and would help if needed, but the lab assignments weren't clear- especially the virtual labs. The labs usually never lined up with the lectures, so she would give a brief introduction to the topic. Working with peers helped us all to understand how to complete the labs.
Dr. Page's CHM 1025 lab is pretty straightforward: read the lectures, do the work, take the quizzes. She provides plenty of easy-to-understand resources on the basics of chemistry, and many of the assignments are cakewalks or offer multiple attempts. She will be more strict in grading major projects, though.
Listen take her for chemistry im telling you easiest A ever just do the work and you will pass I promise and it easy I was doing it the day she had us turn it in
Took the online lecture and hybrid lab. Both were great. Some of the experiments were actually fun and she went over the really hard calculations in class. Textbook was free online and I didn't have to buy a lab manual either. Solid choice.
Professor Page was great, no complaints at all. The course I took was online so it demanded some more personal motivation than most but that was okay. Good course, thank you for a great semester!
Good overall class set up with lots of videos. No lab manual or online access to buy. She's good about answering emails if you have questions. Nice professor who cares. I'd definitely take another one of her classes in the future.
She is using outdated websites that make the class more difficult than it needs to be. The websites are also not reliable. Her online course could use an update . I learned everything through my lecture teacher and applied it to her class. If you do not do things HER no matter how well you understand the material she will punish you for it.
I was scared to take a chemistry lab class and am not good at science but Dr. Paige is a really good professor. The prelab lectures are recorded and she has short weekly tutorials of what's important + lots of extra videos. She was also really good about answering emails. I wish all professors cared about helping their students like she does.
She's a good professor with lots of videos that helped me to understand the material. The textbook is free and she answers emails so definitely a solid choice.
This was a great class for a nonscience person and Dr. Page has a good way of explaining things. It covered a lot of things relatable to everyday life that kept it interesting. The free textbook was great since we didn't use all of it and the videos really helped.
I really liked the hybrid type class everything but tests online. She's good about answering emails and her review sessions really helped. Definitely would recommend.
Great professor! Weekly tutorials were short and helpful and when I had questions she was good about emailing back. No expensive lab kits to purchase since all the online stuff was free.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING THIS COURSE WITH THIS WOMAN !!!! UNFORGIVING AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR GRADE.. L PROFESSOR.
Put off my science elective but heard good things about her class so I tried it. And I'm glad I did! It was pretty straightforward and doable. The food additives and some of the other things we learned about were interesting and useful. Would definitely recommend to a nonscience person like me.
Good labs that were understandable. She was great about answering questions and explaining before labs what we were supposed to do.
Take this teacher! She is one of the best I've had! Her assignments are super easy and she give A LOT of extra credit. There are three Honor Lock tests but they're pretty easy and there are about 10 extra questions that are all 3 bonus points. And before you take the exam you can get 3 extra points by showing a pic of your notes! TAKE HER!
Take her class!!! Her CHM1020C course is super easy and there is a lot of opportunity for extra credit! The material is simple to understand, and the three honorlock tests may seem stressful, but if you put in any effort into learning the material, you'll end up with a good grade. Just don't mess up the honorlock scans!
I definitely recommend Dr. Page for CHM 2046L lab. The hybrid setup was good with my work schedule + it was nice being able to do the pre and post lab work online. Doing labs in person was so much easier than trying to do experiments at home. She's great about answering questions during lab and emails.
As a nonscience person, I really liked this class. Learning about food additives, solar, pool chemistry and other everyday things kept it interesting and she was good when I had questions.
loved professor Page, CHM 2045 is a HARD class, but professor page makes assignments very easy and gives partially credit on reports and exams. Great teacher, would take again
I wore a backwards ball cap while I took the first test and now that test grade is a zero and I have to spend 3 hours driving to take future tests in person. When asked to reconsider due to my heavy work schedule and inability to do that she said "hehe, I have to follow the rules" Yeah ... that's the same thing the Nuremberg guys said "Dr." Page
The teacher isn't understanding or have any leniency.
Don't take classes with this professor. Dr. Page watches Honorlock very heavily and accuses kids of cheating. When you offer proof you didn't cheat she doesn't accept it. She grades harsh and nit picks at all the little details. I had to drive all the way to the Plant City campus to take my last two tests there which was a huge inconvenience.
I"m not a science person but I actually ended up liking this class. There were lots of things I didn't expect, like learning about food additives that made it interesting and doable. She was good about emailing back the couple times I had questions. Definitely recommend.
This chem lab was easier than I expected. Labs were clear and rubrics helped me make sure I got the max points. She has a lot of great videos to help and short weekly tutorials that let me know what I needed to focus on. I plan on taking her for the gen chems.
I took her hybrid class which was great since a lot was online but we met enough to go over the hard parts, like with lots of math. She's awesome about answering questions quickly and really cares. I also loved that the textbook was free.
The labs made sense and she was great about going around during lab to make sure we were doing ok. Definitely recommend.
She's a great professor who explained things in detail and would look around the class a lot to make sure we understood. She really cares about helping her students.
I'm not a science person but I actually understood this class. I really liked learning about things like food additives that are useful.
Good easy to understand class. Free online textbook we didn't use much and lots of great videos and extra credit.
Do not take this professor if you have any other life commitments besides school. Every other HCC professor allows some level of late work, even with deductions. Dr. Page allows ZERO late work for ZERO credit, so be sure to never make a mistake in her class. Do yourself a favor and take another professor!
Great science elective to take for a nonscience person. I emailed her a couple times with questions and she was great about answering. Definitely a solid choice.
I took this class cuz I heard good things about the prof. She has a good way of explaining things and lots of videos. She only uses the textbook sometimes but it's free + no lab kit to buy. I wish more online profs were like her.
do not take this professor. content is not too bad but she watches honorlock very closely and will accuse you of cheating if you don't read the syllabus very closely. other than that this class is not too hard but she simply does not care if you fail and will not let you retake tests or submit late work. she is nitpicky with grading too
Awesome Professor. This was a hybrid class, but attendance wasn't mandatory. The exams were in-person and full of extra credits. There were four exams, and the Final replaced the lowest score. She was accessible through emails and in person. She is just an amazing professor. She is really caring and makes sure her students can succeed in class.
This professor is by far the worst professor you can take. She has no sympathy towards her students nor does she care about your grade. She has accused numerous students of cheating with no valid evidence as well as saying she's just “following the rules”.
Took her Chemistry class online and it was the worst decision. ALL tests are Honorlocked and she watches them all, gave me a zero for a test for violating an honor lock rule even though I already got an D on the test and obviously was not cheating… Just save yourself the hassle and pick someone else.
if your taking it online, good luck. she accused me of cheating because i had one to many pieces of scrap paper. She made me flunk the test and take every test after that in person. Look at the other bad reviews if you think i'm trippin.
I had 100% and she gives extra credit that as wasnt until i took the first test. Now i have a D .Got accused of cheating beacuse of a insufficant room scan and I was unaware i needed a second camera that viewd my hands and keyboard. Now the rest of the test need to be done in person. im a straight A student so this is just unbelievable.
Yes there's a textbook but it's free and we only had to read a few parts of it. Lots of great videos. I wish more professors were like her and answered questions and emails pretty quick. Her tests were fare with extra credit. She has rules for Honorlock but still better than having to take off work for tests on campus.
Took her 8 week class and loved it even though I'm not a science person cuz it was a gen ed option and 1 less final in May. The class was laid out so you start at module 1 and work your way thru. Very organized. Every week she posted a short video about what's important. Lots of other videos which was great versus just having to read the textbook.
Good class. Took because I needed a science class and ended up learning some things that are actually useful in everyday life like about food preservatives. She records her lectures and does a good job explaining things and uses lots of videos.
I wish there were more professors like her. The course was really well organized and the assignments are open way ahead of time which was good with my work schedule. The couple times I had questions she was great about answering. Highly recommend.
She is the best professor I've ever had. She is really clear about what's expected and uses a free textbook.
In my opinion, the workload and honorlock exams needing a webcam recording you and your workplace from the side is very extra for an elective course. On the plus side, there are extra credit opportunities, and most of the assignments are simple. Not the worst professor, but I wouldn't take her classes again- at least not online.
Great professor. Really organized. I never thought I'd learn things I'd actually use in a science elective like about food additives and pool chemistry.
Professor Page makes chemistry interesting and a solid science elective choice. Definitely recommend.
This was a good class. She kept things interesting with lots of great videos. She records short weekly tutorials that tell you what you need to focus on which helped when my schedule got really busy.
Finally a good science elective professor for nonscience people that made sense. She has a great way of explaining things and is awesome about answering emails.
I had her for 2046L. I would say the lab is kind of disorganized and we were often waiting on her. She means well, she isn't necessarily a harsh grader either. I don't think the drive to Plant City is worth it. 2 labs in 2 hours and thirty minutes was not fun at all. This definitely isn't the worst class ever either. Be well prepared before coming.
Good online class where I could work my way through the weekly modules. Lots of examples and videos really helped. She did a good job of relating things in the class to real life.
Just finished the hybrid lab with her. She has a great way of explaining things. Just wish she had also taught the lecture.
Great class! Definitely recommend!
Took her for the lab and she was great. Best chem lab I've ever taken.
Great professor. Short weekly tutorials are a huge help. Lots of extra credit.
Dr. Page has a good way of explaining things for nonscience people. A lot of her class is actually useful in everyday life and she's good about emailing back about questions.
Good lab class that didn't require buying an expensive lab kit. All her videos really helped me in lecture too.
Great course, easy to follow modules in order. She has good videos and explains things well. Solid choice.
She's the best science professor I've ever taken. Wish there were more like her.
I took the summer shorter class and the modules were easy to follow in order. She gives lots of extra credit and is really good about answering questions. The modules usually contained extra stuff that helped me understand better and made the assignments easier. I definitely recommend her.
This was a good science elective. Lots of different topics kept it interesting in easy to follow modules.
Prof Page teaches science in language I can understand. As a nonscience person, I actually found this class interesting and doable. Definitely recommend this for a required science lab course.
She is the best professor I ever had. The class is super organized and she gives a few days to take each test which was good due to my work schedule.
The professor was rarely available and slow to respond to questions, making it hard to get support when needed. Office hours were unclear, and emails often went unanswered. For a subject like chemistry, accessible guidance is essential—this course lacked that.
The professor was often unavailable and slow to respond to questions, making it difficult to get help when needed. Office hours were unclear, and emails went unanswered. For a subject as demanding as chemistry, consistent support is essential—unfortunately, that was missing throughout the course.
She is a great professor who really cares. She made chemistry interesting for a nonscience person like me.
I wish she were more understanding; she is by the book. That said, she makes the class enjoyable and offers a generous amount of extra credit. There is no formal study guide, but she does clearly outline test material during lectures. Unfortunately, Honorlock was an issue for me, I received a zero due to a slight camera movement I wasn't aware of.
Her course was set up so with easy to follow modules. She gives good short weekly summaries of what to do and important assignment info. Definitely the most organized and interesting online course I've had.
We learned through online quizzes and videos, and there are assigned textbook readings but they aren't necessary. Personally, I didn't feel prepared for the final due to the style of teaching, but if you like something more laid back and learn better with quizzes paired with videos and short readings, this prof is for you. Relatively easy grader.
Good survey course of chemistry with some practical information that I'll actually use as a nonscience student. I appreciate that she has so many good videos and examples that I didn't have to google things like in other classes.
I enjoyed the class and the way it was laid out. Do the modules in order and lots of videos to help explain things in a way that didn't put me to sleep. I wish more classes were like this.
